    I prefer watching a piece of furniture changing before my eyes, I learn so much more that way. I would have done one of the following :
    1. Put chicken mesh on the sides and placed a shelf inside, painted it white with some distressing and used it in a country style kitchen.
    2. Painted it duck egg blue and hung vintage style material on the sides, placed a shelf or two inside. Slight amount of distressing.

  • @iceangel1701d
    @iceangel1701d 3 года назад

    One idea would be to make it a boho type book shelf. You could use 1"X2" pieces cut to height and set into the piece with the 1" part facing out and spaced about 1/2" apart but only on the curved sides. Place several shelves and stain or paint as desired. I think it would be pretty spectacular when done. Also, as a finishing touch you can put hob nails at the top and bottom of each 1"X2" piece.

  • @gapeach51170

    Love the idea, if you had room in a bedroom you could make this an accessory cabinet. Keep the hooks on the inside and add chicken wire to the two open sides and you could hang necklaces, earrings , scarves ....add s hooks to hang bracelets and smaller handbags on the outside. :)

      That makes me so happy to hear. When I was a little girl I used to watch decorating shows with my grandmother and it meant the world to me. I definitely credit her for me doing this work as an adult. She inspired me. She passed away this year and it has been very hard on me, not being able to share with her all the things I have done since she has gone. Or just share my life and children with her. Keep on being an awesome grandmother. I am sure it means the world to your granddaughter too.

    I could see turning something like this into a Puppet-Stage for kids. You could cut out the back, and put a shelf about half-way down. Staple "curtains" around the curved top and the back, and around the front of the plywood shelf. The kids could store the puppets under the shelf. A little light in the top might be helpful, too. It would be more work, and cost a bit in plywood and fabric. But I think it would be super cute!

    GREAT VIDEO
    Thanks for sharing the background story about the dresser, at the end of your video. I CAN SEE HOW YOU GOT EMOTIONAL TALKING ABOUT THAT AMAZING LADY.

    I have one similar that was replaced with plexiglass. You can not tell unless you tap it. I like it because I like a no fuss home.

    I’d make an open, curved sided bookshelf for an adult, or add a few partitions in and make a fabulous doll house with super easy access all round 🥰

    You already know I love the mystery! 😉👍🏼 Thank you for that. I usually always stray away from the before & afters (thumbnails) videos.

    That came out beautiful, as was the scenery on your way to get the dresser. I'm looking forward to the video of the repair.

    IDEA #1 - Attach attractive paper to inside back of the cabinet, add shelves for books or to show off collectibles. Paint the cabinet a color(s) that compliment the new paper inside cabinet. Add wire mesh or chicken wire to replace the missing glass so the cabinet contents don’t fall out.
    IIDEA #2 - Add shelves to cabinet and paint it with coordinating colors or patterns. Use the upcycled cabinet in a bathroom to hold clean towels, washcloths, etc. Baskets on the shelves can store smaller bathroom paraphernalia.
    IDEA #3 - Its crazy but I also thought of making the cabinet into a hall tree, then I got stuck and couldn’t imagine how that could be done. I should have remembered that you can make anything beautiful and practical! 😁

    This was super good. Loved driving out in the country with you and ❤️❤️❤️ what you did with the former curio cabinet. Your little guy was so excited and happy and that was joyful to see. You are right - there are good and kind people everywhere. I love your videos so you can do a surprise reveal or you can show the finished piece and then the process to get it there. Whatever appeals to you or makes the best story is what you should do. I will watch everything you put out. I am enjoying your journey. 😊
