Thank you. I had looked at few bad reviews and was noticing they didn't show the actual work in progress. Your video was instructive and confirmed my suspicion the bad reviews were not following instructions.
Great job with the detailed demonstration of this spray gun. You made this process so easy to follow. Clear, easy, and concise. Thanks and keep up the great videos. God bless.
I just bought the Flexio 5000. I think the gun would be lighter because the air turbine is in the case and not the handle. I used it for the first time on shutters and loved it. Now I cant wait to do a china hutch with the chalk paint! Love watching your videos!
6" away and smooth long spraying techniques is for your best jobs . Have this sprayer too and it impressed me for small to medium sized jobs 👍 definitely recommended this sprayer for rookie painters as well as for pros for easy quick jobs .
I just purchased this paint sprayer because I had seen a lady use it. I have not used it yet and I am so grateful to you for doing this video. I now feel that I can use it without being so fearful.

Hey at least it’s not toxic paint like when I sprayed vehicles. I got out of that trade immediately after I got my license. Killer in the lungs even walking through a body shop. This is a joke water based comparatively but ya a respirator can’t hurt.
I just went out tonight to put up my large Wagner paint tent. I have been painting chairs by hand and it’s taking forever. I also have a new mask for safety! So I have quite a few items to paint - tomorrow because it got too dark on me. I have only used my sprayer once before. I wasn’t very good at it so practice makes perfect, right? I have an electric Rexbeti model REX004. I’m not sure why I didn’t by the Wagner, unless it’s compression only. I only have a 3 gallon compressor. Thanks Christina. I’ll be watching again tomorrow as I’m painting.
Every time I paint furniture I think about getting a paint sprayer but have never been sure about how it would actually work out on something small. Now I KNOW I need one!
Wagner sprayers are okay. I just bought a Truecoat 360 and that thing is a beast! You don't have to thin the paint at all. You just pour the paint in, prime for 3secs, and start spraying. It would've took 2mins to spray both chair.
Thank you Christina for sharing this video with all your followers... I hope one day I will remodel our chairs for the dining table and the sprayer is a toy😃that I wanted for a long time so definitely I will get one to play with it... thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills I just subscribed to your channel see you in the next project..Gracias!!
Wow, that's such a huge time difference! Thank you for featuring the Wagner FLEXiO 3000. We love the flawless finish on the chairs, plus the distressing and upholstery work is amazing!
I'm 10 but 11 in in February can kids use this to if my mom says yes But sometimes I like to blend but this would be super cool and I get mad sometimes because I don't want the lines on my furniture from painting have a nice day
@Drills N shills We'd be happy to assist you with your sprayer! Depending on which Wagner sprayer you have, adjustments can be made to reduce overspray. Please call us at 1-800-328-8251 and we can offer tips/tricks.
I just wanted to add that i bought this same sprayer. Its awesome. One other tip is that if it stops spraying theres a pin hole on the tube near the top that goes in the cup if that's plugged it also wont spray.
Thank you for the video. It’s informative as it should be, and also inspires me to repaint the damn dining table I’ve been planning on in the last 3 years.
I know a lot of people want the brush marks in chalk paint. I guess it depends on what look you want. I myself prefer brush but would used the sprayer in some circumstances.
The trick to brushless finishing. Lightly sand with 0000 steel will between first and final coat of lacquer. Then use cheese cloth with linseed oil lightly to go over surface. Surface should have a slight sheen but not wet from oil. Then apply your finishing coat of lacquer. It will turn out like glass. Use a high quality bruch. After your final brush leave it and don't futz with it.
just found your channel. and while mine is more about cars and garage type projects, I still love to do interior projects like you do on here. I'm going to take some of the tricks you have used to hopefully make our house a home. love the videos!
I have one of the sprayer tents and love it! Also, you want to be wearing a respirator mask. A real one not just a face mask. It's incredibly important you do.
Beautiful results. Maybe, someday I will be able to afford this sprayer. Believe this is the third demo I have watched and results have all been good. Thanks
I have this and I love it, but you should include set up time. If I hand paint, there’s not much time prepping, just throw a drop cloth down. But when using the sprayer, the set up time is longer, taping up plastic, blowing plastic from the sprayer so you have to take time to reposition and retake the plastic. I’d say w prep included, it takes just as long. I’m back to using my paintbrush
THANK YOU!!!!! I am new to painting. I've only done a couple of wooden captains chairs, a small cabinet, and small table. Great for farmhouse look but I don't always want to distress or see brush strokes. I have been wondering about an inexpensive sprayer to begin with. I will be investing in one of these. THANK YOU🌻 LOVE YOUR VIDEOS AND PAINTED💝 PEICES!
Warner made very good sprayers, I had one for 10 years, but someone come by and chose to take it with them without asking, a painter said once you go spray you never go back unless you really want to. also it is recommended that you use a hearing protection when using a handheld sprayer like the the Flexio 3000.
I just bought this today! I’m a painter too. Suddenly I’ve had so many requests to paint from family soooo was looking for another way to get more done and smoother finishing. I haven’t tried it yet was just reviewing online RUclips before I began. You’re video helped my confidence in stepping into the unknown! I’m a first time sprayer too! Hopefully will have the same success as you😃
Nicely done. i just bought some chalk brushes online but after seeing the sprayer, it seems like the way to go. You did a nice job on the chairs and know what you are doing.
Been on the fence about getting a paint sprayer - thinning paint is not my cup of tea. After watching how easy you made it look, I’ll need to get a paint sprayer to redo all my bar stools and then my whole house . Love the end results and those floors, too! Real wood or wood looking tiles? Please, protect your lungs and beautiful eyes on future videos! Kudos!
I had this sprayer and it did decent on spraying some doors but it's not perfect. The turbine puts out some heat and it tends to dry latex paint on the spray nozzle. It would throw globs on to my doors if I didn't use a rag to clean the nozzle periodically. This sprayer absolutely needed water added to the latex to thin the product as it would be a much better finish. If you have multiple things to spray and especially multiple coats to do then this sprayer made the job a pain. You need to clean all the internals after spraying and considering I had to spray my doors with 2 coats that means I had to spray my doors 4 different times. Flipping the doors around for the other 2 coats. That means 4 cleanings and it's no fun cleaning this sprayer. Also my brother used it to spray a black ceiling in his basement and the black paint over saturated the filter for the turbine and sucked it into the internals thus ruining the sprayer. This is partially a user error but also a bit of a design flaw. Also I noticed the trigger gets sticky and tends to hang up. I bought Wagner lube/cleaner and it didn't seem to make much difference. I sprayed in my garage and basement making sure to mask off large portions in plastic. This turbine pushes alot of air meaning the overspray gets EVERYWHERE. I suggest cleaning your space thoroughly before spraying to prevent dirt from being sprayed around onto your project. I say this not to bash the sprayer because in the end it did a good job but it didn't really save me much for time with all the cleanings and prep work.
We greatly appreciate the feedback and we'll pass your thoughts on to our product team! Regarding the clean-up, here's a great video that shows how to quickly clean your sprayer. Please note that you don't need to clean the sprayer between coats, just during extended periods like overnight: ruclips.net/video/RvFcTSJ8zgQ/видео.html&feature=emb_title
yeah, it only uses 2x the paint as a brush does and forces you to use plastics to mask off your other surfaces. let nature deal with the excess pollutants, thats what nature is for and we can just keep being the fancy humans that we are
Mr Dave I actually use less paint when I spray. It applies thinner, more consistent coats than brushing. I also only use plastic to take off drawers and I try to use that plastic for more than one project. I’ve made a living saving furniture from the side of the road and the dumps and use mostly eco friendly products in my refinishing process. Of course it’s not perfect but it’s definitely not worth being nasty over.
@@salvagedbykscott There is an established hierarchy for waste management known as the 4 R's - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Recover. Everything should be done in that order. I Chalk Painted a 1952 Child’s School Desk By Brush took me from start to finish roughly around 2 hours and that was with the desk already prepped from a while back.
I ended up redoing all of my kitchen cabinets with a cheap 50 dollar sprayer. Only downside was I had to really thin out my paint to keep the paint sprayer going. I wonder if the wagner is a little more forgiving with thicker paints. Also I looooooooooooove that spray tent. Looking to potentially purchase as that just makes things simple (and then I dont have to keep spraying outside on "warmer" days.
I just got my tent. Can't wait to test it out in a new video. This sprayer is designed to work with thicker product without having to thin it out. I thinned mine out for appearance, but the sprayer worked great with unthinned paint. And chalk paint is thick!
Painting in white, dressed in black... holy cow that's brave. Question: did you have to thin your paint at all in order to get good sprayer operation and, if so, how did it affect coverage?
@@ChristinaMuscari I bought this sprayer a month ago. I'm really impressed with it. First job was painting twelve meters of metal railings. Flew through the job in two and a half hours, which was super quick. I wasn't lucky enough to be sponsored by Wagner, you struck gold when they gave you this outfit.
Love the chairs and especially how you saved them from the landfill. Did you think about adding a little padding to the chairs? It gives it a little more lush look.
Wow those turned out great. What is your honest opinion as far as the finish that the sprayer gave you? Is it smooth like a factory finish or do you see any texture/orange peel? I am working on a project around my home...replacing all of the door casings and baseboards. I've been using a small mohair roller and have gotten decent results on the interior doors and the wide baseboard that I am prepainting but things are not going so well on the new door casing and I feel the only work around is investing in a sprayer. I have tried a sprayer once before and had a horrible experience. I spit paint all over and I had a hot mess on my hands. Thank you.
That sprayer works great for about 5 or 6 quarts of paint then takes a crap. Chalk paint dries to quick and gunks up the inside clogging the tip real fast.
Painted a basement roof and noticed the clogging, I had to move stuff out of the way and that apparently was too long. However, the second time I was expecting it, so I cleaned the nozzle. Clogged nozzle spits large droplets far away and really test how well you masked your surrounding.
Look at the drop cloth under the chairs after spraying. Plus she says that it does more coverage from one sprayed on coat than she gets with two brushed on coats. It probably uses about 30-50% more paint, but she saves a lot of time and gets a smoother, more professional finish. Keep in mind these are chairs. Spraying a table or door would not waste anywhere near as much paint since there is a lot more surface area for the paint to stick to.
Hi! Did you find you had any dripping or runs w/ the sprayer? I have been hesitant to try one because I feel it will be like using spray paint and the paint drips/unevenness will not be worth the trouble. But the time saving aspect looks unreal so would love to hear your thoughts!!
As an ex spray painter -vehicles- yes there is definitely a technic to spraying. The biggest trick is to keep the gun moving. Also find the balance between too dry spray and too wet which produces runs on vertical surfaces. If you have the patience to get the hang of it you’ll be ok. You’ll probably mess up some and waste some paint to a degree before you get onto it.
@@larryc1964 Thank you! I finally bought and started using a sprayer a couple weeks ago. There is a definite learning curve to getting the technique right, but through trouble shooting I am slowly getting the hang of it 👍👍
I have been hesitant about getting a paint gun. However, your video just convinced me to get one. A very enticing demonstration. You have a very smooth way of explaining things. Keep up the excellent work. I love the look on the chairs with the sprayer.
We have the wagnor flexio 2000. We bought when we purchased our home but knew we would be paining the entire interior eventually. Im currently working on chairs and its been a nightmare. Don't know why i didnt just pull my paint sprayer out. 🤦🤦
I noticed that there are other models of Wagner sprayers that are less. Do you only recommend the 3000 for spraying furniture ( especially for chalk paint)?
Hi! I casually started looking at how to paint furniture recently as we want to refurnish our bedroom set. Your videos have inspire us to do it ourselves and this one in particular shows what appears to be an easier and less time consuming way. With that being said I have a question for you: have you tried the Dixie Bell paints with this paint spryer? If so, how much did you diluted them?
first of all sorry for my english.i have 2 questions . first with sprayer you use more paint than the brush? and 2 do you use this sprayer alot ?,after time of uses do you had problems with clogged nozle? i ask because i read bad reviews about the nozle.
@@ChristinaMuscari Thank you for this video today.... I have had a Wagner Flexio for a while and not yet taken out of box... I am going to do it now!!!
I foolishly bought an ornate table, six chairs and a huge two piece china hutch. I plan to put tall legs on the top of the hutch and sell them as two separate pieces. I have already purchased Melange paint and would really like to buy a sprayer. Do you still recommend the Wagnor 3000 and light distressing of white furniture or have I missed that trend? I am definitely going creamy white; it is the distressing I’m not sure about. Maybe a darker wax to emphasize carving details? Any advice you may have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and wonderful videos.
Thanks for watching and your thoughts. I did try to do this but it's pretty tricky to get white to focus that close up. Maybe I can try some on Instagram.
That sprayer looks amazing. Do you have to thin the paint or just fill the bottle of paint and start spraying. I like how you put a plastic bag on the can to make clean up easier
You do not have to thin the paint with this model but you can if you choose to. I ended up thinning the chalk paint out with a bit of water. I actually don't think the plastic bags are necessary. I ended up taking it out and it cleaned up well.
I got a sprayer and have watched many videos on using a sprayer with chalk paint. Most of the videos recommend thinning the paint with lots of water; two parts paint to one part water. I tried this but the paint was really runny... Thoughts?
@@btrswt35 True - but I think for HVLP sprayers it's far less than true airless sprayers. But still... treat your lungs right and they will treat you right. :)
Have you tried polycrylic or polyurethane with the Wagner sprayer? I can’t get a smooth finish on my table with a brush and have the Wagner 3000 but nervous to use it for the first time with poly.

I am so ready for that sprayer.
I just get the Wagner W100...I can wait to use it...thank you for all the information !!!😊
Hope you enjoy it!
Awesome project and great information. Keep it coming. Thanks 👍
Thanks, will do!
I got the same sprayer . Doing my cabinets today. Really love it ! Thank you very much !
You are so welcome!
Natalie Tran how did it do with the sprayer? I really want to spray cabinets, but am afraid there will be drip marks etc
@@TEAZME74 did you attempt your cabinets??
Thanks for sharing! Can’t wait to try this on my chairs 🤗
Have fun!
Thank you, just bought a Wagner, it will save soo much time and i tend to be impatient so...
Awesome
Thank you! I’m getting this sprayer now! Adorable project!
Thanks, Tamara. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the sprayer and how it works for you.
Waste of paint with sprayer

@@ChristinaMuscari I bought this sprayer a month ago. I'm really impressed with it. First job was painting twelve meters of metal railings. Flew through the job in two and a half hours, which was super quick. I wasn't lucky enough to be sponsored by Wagner, you struck gold when they gave you this outfit.
@@leonarddeblock1937 I found it works best on low settings. Works brilliant with practice.
Love the chairs and especially how you saved them from the landfill. Did you think about adding a little padding to the chairs? It gives it a little more lush look.
With the Wagner you painted everywhere. No paint spray booth = Brush, with paint booth = Wagner
Wowzer I should buy one. Thanks for your video 💖
After seeing your video, I am going to buy this paint sprayer.
Great 👍
Wow those turned out great.
Great job 👍
Did you have adequate ventilation?
It would be nice if this tool have a cordless version.
Thank you!
What was the amount difference when using a spray gun vs brush? Do you use less or more paint or is it the same amount?
Look at the drop cloth under the chairs after spraying. Plus she says that it does more coverage from one sprayed on coat than she gets with two brushed on coats. It probably uses about 30-50% more paint, but she saves a lot of time and gets a smoother, more professional finish. Keep in mind these are chairs. Spraying a table or door would not waste anywhere near as much paint since there is a lot more surface area for the paint to stick to.
You always make everything look so easy! And you’ve convinced me to invest in one! Thank you so much 😊
Awesome! Thank you!
There is a definite learning curve to getting the technique right, but through trouble shooting I am slowly getting the hang of it 👍👍
Great video we are buying this tomorrow 😉
Have fun!
I'm new here and I'm intrigued beautiful and handy! A mans dream. Nice video
Great Demo on the sprayer!
Thank you!
I'm ready for my first project, just got my Annie Sloan paint and brushes.
That’s awesome , I’m looking forward to get one.... by the way, can it be cleaned with thinner mineral to make sure the nozzles are clear ! Thanks
I have been hesitant about getting a paint gun. However, your video just convinced me to get one. A very enticing demonstration. You have a very smooth way of explaining things. Keep up the excellent work. I love the look on the chairs with the sprayer.
Thank you!
Great video! Definitely making me want to invest in this sprayer.
''''You're the best teacher! Thank you so much
We have the wagnor flexio 2000. We bought when we purchased our home but knew we would be paining the entire interior eventually. Im currently working on chairs and its been a nightmare. Don't know why i didnt just pull my paint sprayer out. 🤦🤦
I bought this sprayer because of you & this video!
How is the Wagner Flexio working for you?
I noticed that there are other models of Wagner sprayers that are less. Do you only recommend the 3000 for spraying furniture ( especially for chalk paint)?
Great video, I loved watching and learning from you. Keep up the good work!
Thank you! Will do!
Hi Christina! Thank you so much for making this video! Just wondering if you find you use more paint using the sprayer than hand brushing? Thanks 💛
After seeing this video I bought this sprayer and absolutely love it!!!
Great! It's pretty awesome.
Eye protection and a mask are a must when using sprayers.
The sprayer is fun....but do remember to protect your future.
first of all sorry for my english.i have 2 questions . first with sprayer you use more paint than the brush?
and 2 do you use this sprayer alot ?,after time of uses do you had problems with clogged nozle?
i ask because i read bad reviews about the nozle.
Great informative video. Do you think thinning the paint by 10% is a good idea?......or more.
Barry
Cristina... Do you think you would do some kitchen cabinets with a sprayer after this experience?
I definitely would try if I had some to paint. It would take a lot of prep work and taking, but I think you would like the smooth finish.
What is the paint ratio usage though? I would think you would use more paint with the sprayer and waste that goes on the floor?
It would've been nice to see the actual finish in a side by side close up since it is a comparison review but thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching and your thoughts. I did try to do this but it's pretty tricky to get white to focus that close up. Maybe I can try some on Instagram.
@@ChristinaMuscari thanks anyway
That sprayer looks amazing. Do you have to thin the paint or just fill the bottle of paint and start spraying. I like how you put a plastic bag on the can to make clean up easier
You do not have to thin the paint with this model but you can if you choose to. I ended up thinning the chalk paint out with a bit of water. I actually don't think the plastic bags are necessary. I ended up taking it out and it cleaned up well.
Thats great. Thanks
@@ChristinaMuscari how much water exactly over how much paint?
Good micro roller gives A better finish those sprayer spits the paint
Would you use this sprayer on a larger piece of furniture like a headboard and would you use the larger spray head instead of the detail one?
I got a sprayer and have watched many videos on using a sprayer with chalk paint. Most of the videos recommend thinning the paint with lots of water; two parts paint to one part water. I tried this but the paint was really runny... Thoughts?
Thank you for this video 💕 Does paint from a sprayer lay on the wood thinner than brushing and sanding between coats?
Great video. I think I may buy one of those sprayers. Thanks
I'm glad it was helpful! Its a great product.
Get a respirator mask if using a spray gun. there are tiny micro particles in the air when using the gun. Protect your lungs.
I have one. I'll wear it next time. Thanks.
Christina Muscari don’t forget eye protection also 🤗
Second that! Anytime using a sprayer, there is a tremendous amount of finish that just goes into the air.
@@btrswt35 True - but I think for HVLP sprayers it's far less than true airless sprayers. But still... treat your lungs right and they will treat you right. :)
don't forget to wear your hazmat suit and get all your shot.
5:24. GREAT VIDEO! AT 5:25, You began on the wood. Please start off the project so you dont have “start” marks.”
Thanks for the tip! I’m still learning for sure.
I like them without stressing them.
Have you tried polycrylic or polyurethane with the Wagner sprayer? I can’t get a smooth finish on my table with a brush and have the Wagner 3000 but nervous to use it for the first time with poly.
Nice demeanor, great intonation and very detailed on your explanation. Ur also adorable. I'm a fan of sprayers and I'm thinking it's time for an upgrade to the new Wagner. I HATE cleaning up so it looked pretty easy.. Have some outdoor fencing that needs staining. How is the sprayer with oil based paints/strains?
It handles it all. You would be able to use this with oil based stains, but clean up will be a little harder. 😉
