  • @kariphillips8673
    @kariphillips8673 3 года назад

    These are beautiful--great color. Quick question-what was the cause of the poly test with all the drips? Was it thinned down too much or did you need to readjust the sprayer settings?

    • @ARayofSunlight
      @ARayofSunlight  3 года назад +2

      I just had the sprayer settings wrong. (I had messed with the settings when I cleaned it out).
      The material flow knob was screwed almost all of the way in, causing the trigger to be able to be pulled a lot further back, which lets more material spray out of the sprayer.

    I really enjoyed your video. As a beginner with spray guns. Should I start out with this sprayer? Or just invest in a fuji Q5? I've been painting furniture as a hobby and reselling it for almost 5 years, I only use paint brushes, so now I'm at that point where I think a HVLP sprayer would ease the workload, what would you suggest? Budget wise I have enough to invest in a Fuji sprayer. Also what model of fuji sprayer do you use?

    • @ARayofSunlight
      @ARayofSunlight  2 года назад +1

      There’s a few things to consider. Are you sure you will enjoy using a sprayer? If so I would go all in with the best sprayer you can afford. I wish I would have done that sooner.
      If you aren’t sure if you will like using a sprayer then I would get a cheap sprayer and see if you like spraying (but wish it was easier or better).

    Thank you for your video 🙏

    • @ARayofSunlight

    • @ARayofSunlight

    Thank you for your video. I bought a less expensive sprayer which may be the problem. I used the smallest nozzle and thinned the paint out. All I got were messy splatters. Is the adjustment dial the issue do you think? Should I use a bigger nozzle? Thank you in advance!

    • @ARayofSunlight
      @ARayofSunlight  3 года назад +1

      I use a smaller nozzle with another sprayer and it’s been great. It could be a thinning issue (too thin or too thick), it could be too much power, or it could be too much paint coming out too. So basically start messing with the settings and the thickness. Make notes so you know what works and what doesn’t. Best of luck!!

    I am currently working on a project in my home and replacing all of the door casing and baseboards. Long story short...I am having horrible luck painting the new door casings before I install them and I am thinking I need to just attempt to spray them myself. • @ARayofSunlight
      @ARayofSunlight  3 года назад +1

      You can get a factory looking finish with this. But honestly you’ll spend a lot of time messing with the paint to get it just right and sanding in between coats to get a factory finish. Your best bet is to buy something like the Fuji 4 or 5. Here is my review of the Fuji Q4. arayofsunlight.com/fuji-q4-paint-sprayer-review/

    • @MP-yz6sb
      @MP-yz6sb 3 года назад

      @@ARayofSunlight thank you kindly for the information. I had never heard of a Fuji sprayer before so I googled it. They are well over $1000 which is way more than I can afford for my project. • @ARayofSunlight
      @ARayofSunlight  3 года назад +1

      If your paint isn’t the right viscosity, and if your settings aren’t right, yep it will spit paint. Test, test, and test some more before spraying your project.
      Also it’s best to pull the trigger a little bit to get the motor going and then pull back all the way to get the paint to come out. If you pull the trigger back all the way right at the first, it will likely splatter.
