You're a legend, thank you so much!
excellent man. thank you
After multiple times trying to use this sprayer and getting orange peel and using a foam roller with the same result, this video was a miracle! Thank you! So informative for a first timer!!!
Best video on the 2000 yet. I spent forever reading and watching tutorials. Happy I found this one
Thank you! This is the first video I found that explained how thinning can help!
Great video. Had problems using this product, but now I know what I was doing wrong!
I was hesitant to use this sprayer, but with the instruction from this video I tackled my project quickly and without issue. I wouldn't have diluted my enamel, and would've been really frustrated. Thank you!!
Thank you! About to try and spray my ceilings. 🤞😷
This is perfect thank u so much !! God bless u sir u just saved me a 10,000 on a new kitchen 😂😂🙌🏽🙌🏽
Excellent and very helpful review/how to. Thank you!!!
I just bought this and was looking for a good video to reference some user tutorials, this was extremely helpful.
Very informative video! Just what I was looking for. Thanks so much!
Thanks! Very useful! I should’ve watched this first!!
Great video! More informative than reading the product instruction manual! So glad I found this channel!
You are my savior! Just bought the 2500 to paint my kitchen cabinets. This would be either my luckiest challenge or my biggest failure. I will follow your video as a guide, step by step.
(Also, haven’t seen your other videos but I really believe with a little more editing & some inexpensive recording tools your videos will be even more successful). You got the face, the look and most important you know your topic! Blessings & thank you for saving my life 🙏🏼😬
Soooooo good. Thanks. I have one coming. This lesson was so detailed.
Thanks for the video ! Best one on here for this product ! Wish I had seen this video before I started spraying .
Thanks for the demo.
Wow thank you for this video! This help me a lot I just bought one and I had no idea how to use it.
Glad I could help!
Excellent video! I just bought the 3000 and experimented with spraying alkyd and was disappointed with the results. I’m going to try it out first thing in the morning and thin my paint as you suggested. Thanks again!
Thank you thank you thank you. I don’t have the exact same sprayer but I have a Wagner 590 but I had the same problem with the little texture. Watering it down and using your settings I’m sure will work great
Thanks for posting!I have a motocoat that im having trouble with.will try more practice.
Great tutorial, subscribed.
Finally got this thing to work well because of your video. Thinning the paint and starting at a low flow did the trick. I was feeling disheartened after my first couple failed attempts with this spray tool.
Wow! I so wish I had seen this video before I sprayed Stix all over the knotty pine walls in a bedroom. Instead I just read the Wagner manual and didn't question... hi speed at setting 7. So much spatter and flew through a gallon. Just mind blowing to see the difference between before/after atomization. Good thing I still have other work to be done, so I'm going to try thinning some Advance and see how we go!
Glad I could help! Good luck on the rest of your project.
@@diypainting can you spray zinsser bin shellac with the wagoner 2500- i was worried i would ruin the gun before using my top coat… i currently did two coats of STIX primer but there is some wood bleed - was wondering if i can do one coat of bin??
Very informative 👏
I wish I had watched this before painting my daughters crib. It had texture on it. Well lessened learned. I plan on doing my cabinets next and will definitely had water to it and will get Benjamin paint
Nice review
Thank you so much fir this review! I’ve been using my Flexio 2000 to paint doors and a few cabinets and I was getting bad splatters. I couldn’t figure out why. Wagner says the paint doesn’t have to be thinned with the Flexio, but you’ve clearly disproved that! I still have a few doors to paint, but I was gonna roll them because I was discouraged by the splatters, but since I ran across your video, I can pull my paint sprayer back out the box! Yay!!
Wow, what a difference once you added water! I wonder if you could dilute it with floetrol instead? It takes longer to dry but the extra time allows the paint to level out any imperfections from brush strokes/drips.
Thank you, thank you, and thank you again! I followed the manual's recommendation to start with a high paint flow and of course it splattered. Your 20% thinning advice is in valuable and I will put it to the test one morning this week. My challenge is painting in the desert southwest in 100 degree heat with 15% humidity. My plan is to turn on the sprinklers to thoroughly wet the lawn and then set up to paint to overcome the paint drying before it hits the surface
. I'll let you know how that works out.
I recently got a Wagner paint sprayer but I'm still too nervous to use it! I love the way it looks on painted furniture but I'm dreading the overspray and wasted paint. Not to mention all the setup/teardown involved.
Thank you! This video was so helpful! I sprayed my bathroom cabinet doors this afternoon. So far, they look great. Im gonna spray a coat of poly in a couple days. Hopefully that looks great too.
Gracias amigooo...!!!
I have to do a house in Latex exterior with this Wagner 3000. It has those old wooden shingles, with the vertical lines that are as thin as splinters (~1/8",) so running won't be a problem.
I have the Floetrol latex based paint additive.
What do you recommend for mixing & settings?
Going slow won't be an issue, as this is the first house I've ever painted, so slow & steady it will be.
Thank you. New sub.
Thank you! I was getting ready to toss this machine until your video solved my problems.
Glad I could help!
Can you make a video about thinning the paint out ??
Thank you so much I bought this and it’s the first time I’m going to use it I would’ve just stuck the paint down and started spraying and got all those spots on the doors that’s a great tip for thinning out the paint I didn’t know you could do that with water!! good video!!
Just finished watching n u DoD answer my question. It's ok for a 1 time whole house thanks
Hello, thanks for the great tutorial. Would you use this with oil-based polyurethanes for doing doors? And how would you go about cleaning it afterwards
The Flexio 2000 would work great for spraying oil-based poly on doors. To clean afterwords, you would have to rinse the sprayer out with paint thinner and spray a little bit of thinner through the sprayer to make sure everything gets cleaned out properly.
What do you recommend for outdoor whole brick house paint to be done faster and easier?
Also wanted to ask… What did you use to thin your alkyd paint.
Super helpful and easy to follow - thanks!
Great info thanks , I see you dilute the advanced paint 20% how about the primer ? it says on the primer not to dilute , i have bought the Advanced paint and the INSL-X STIX PRIMER and I am using a Finish Max Super Sprayer , thanks Terry
What sprayer do you recommend for interior walls and ceilings?
Great video! I have a Wagner sprayer and used it to spray oil-based alkyd enamel on my cabinet. I’m getting a good looking finish, but with little bumps. Does this mean I need to thin my paint?
Most likely.
how about spraying a tub w/ Krylong tub & Tile?
What’s the best way to do a ceiling?
Is this sponsored by Wagner? Because I watched several of your videos and tried all of the combos you mentioned. I used products you used like smart prime and it still did not perform like yours here. I adjusted my settings and no matter what I did it zapped through the product. I thinned it out. But the air holes in the front got clogged constantly. The tip did the same thing. If I stopped for a minute it would crust over. When I replaced the paint it was extremely messy and kept dipping paint. It also did this thing where when I released the trigger it kept spraying paint. Then shortly later it started oozing and pouring large amounts of primer gurgling out of the tip. It was extremely messy! I am in bed right now with paint all over me. I add ankle to eventually get everything primed. But my stress levels were through the roof. I was conflicted. I tried to switch over to roller and missed the died of the gun but it was much less messy. Also the stream and continuity of the amount and release of primer kept changing. Sometimes it was the right amount and then it would become less or more. Overall it started to feel like I wasted money on something that as not performing like your videos.
No, this was not sponsored by Wager. Actually, they got mad at me for this video! They told me that I wasn’t using the sprayer as intended and wanted the video taken down.
Anyway, not sure what type of issue you were running into. I have had great success with these sprayers. The paint can dry around the tip, but it usually only happens every 10-20 doors for me and I pick it off and keep going.
I guess I’d ask what product exactly were you using, and xactly how much did you thin it, what was the humidity level when spraying.
It also just hit me, maybe you’ve got a bad gasket, dropped a gasket, or something like that that is causing your issues.
Last question would be, what sprayers are you using (probably should have been my first question)?
For oil paint should I also add water?
You have mentioned thinning it down by 20%. Can you explain that in detail for us beginners.
Thanks! Alison
Thinning by 20% gets the viscosity of the paint lower and makes it easier for the Flexio to atomize the paint. If you have 50 ounces of paint, then add 10 ounces of clean water and mix it in well. Hope this helps.
Have you tried the Earlex paint sprayers? It is true that they are about 2x the price of the Flexio 2000 but the turbine is on the other end of a hose and you do not have to lift it and the paint and the noise would be further away from your ear. Any idea?
So would you recommend this to stain like 200ft of fencing and a small deck? Or would you recommend another one?
I think it would work pretty great for shooting stain onto a fence. I am actually planning on using it on my fence this fall (let's be honest, next spring).
Question for ya.... So if I'm using this to do latex on interior walls, and I dilute as you said.. will that water not cause issues with the paint/possibly mold etc?? Also, what kind of water should be used as I am on well water that is hard?
Shouldn't have any issues with any normal water. Mainly though, I was talking about enamels for cabinets and furniture. If you are spraying walls, just dilute 5% at a time until it starts spraying nice, then note where you were at for future mixes.
How do you unblock the nozzel
I just bought this to help me stain my decks. A thinner stain should be fine with this?
A thinner stain should work great.
What you use to thin the oil paint? An water paint?
Paint thinner with oil paint and water with latex water base paint. Also the back of the can has information on clean up. There’s also usually a 1-800 number you can contact a rep from the manufacturer. Hope that helps. 🤟🏽
Clean the tip with what? Water, thinner, or acetone?
Depends on the material you are spraying. Usually just water is needed.
What inexpensive option would you suggest to use in home for walls and ceilings?
Honestly, for walls, I would recommend using a brush and roller (we have a video going up on this in a day or so). For ceilings, a small airless sprayer like the Graco Magnum X5 or the Wagner Control Spray, both are about the cheapest airless sprayers that you'll find.
@@diypainting the control sprayer? For walks & ceilings? Strange Wagner states that the control sprayer is for furniture.
Thanks for the video. Now my dilemma is that i wanted it for ceiling & wall and live in a small house. Can it be ok for myself whereas I really don't want to use a roller.
@@Blah-blah-sure did you use it? And did it work?
@@karamathews4301 I purchased the Graco 360DX and it worked great. I didn’t add water. I experimented adding water after the job to see what would happen. And I only added a little I thought, but it came out very watery on a piece of throw away surface. I think the key to any of these spaying devices is to read the manual & Watch several videos about them. And even more importantly clean the sprayer religiously
So you just add two ounce of whater??
I add 20% water to thin down most enamels for spraying in HVLP sprayers. So If I have 10 ounces of paint, I would mix in 2 ounces of water to thin it down.
👍👍
So that means is not to good for doing kitchen cabinets..plus it will take longer time..
Anybody else only buying to paint interior rooms...lol
Electric
Hi Ryan 🥴🥴
Hi Ruth 🥴🥴
Titan 540 for cabinets all day
Titan 540 = $1,600
Wagner Flexio 2000 = $140
Titan 540 is an awesome airless sprayer. Great for production. This was to help DIYers make the most of a cheap sprayer for small one time projects.
I have this exact sprayer and I HATE it!! To slow and now I know I have to water down my paint. Ugh..
And it's still faster to roll it
I don't like this sprayer the room gets so dusty
Pos!! Stay away!!!!!!!!
