Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I had already given up on my Flexio and then I found your video….Never knew there was a pressure adjustment screw on the trigger. Game changer! I cranked it all the way up and I was able to spray a very think black exterior paint with NO dilution with absolute ease! Thanks again! You saved me hours and hours of brush and roller work and now I have a definite go to for future paint projects!
I was having such a hard time with this thing today. I have the control spray xtra duty sprayer and after a few minutes of spraying primer it clogged up to the point of only shooting globs out! It was time for paint, it started to do the same thing after I refilled it once. I watched this and saw you assemble it with the yellow thing horizontal and I took the yellow cap off, turned the yellow thing horizontal, out the cap back on, and it stopped splattering! I have no idea why this makes a difference but am so glad I watched this! Ty!
@@DIYHIPChicks Well, I didn't think it would be important to mention this but since it is important to you, I actually first watched this video last week ---- searching for the best spraying machine --- and after watching your video went and bought the Wagner. Presently, I am following your instructions on how to assemble it properly. :)))
Thank you for this video. I've had mine for a few years and used it a handful of times. The last few times, it started to splatter and spit out globs of paint. I'm glad I came across this video, I will sure try these tips when I use it again.
1000 thanks for the excellent job you have done showing and explaining how to use the paint sprayer. Thank you especially for showing how to put together the air cap. I kept doing it all wrong because it was already put together and I needed to adjust it. I know I am not making any sense but you did and your video helped me a great deal!! Thank you so much.!!!!
Thank you so much for this!! I’ve been searching and searching for tutorials because I’ve had mine a week and it’s been a horrible experience. I’ve melted down a few times feeling like I’m never going to understand and cursed to do everything by hand forever. But after this and reading everyone’s comments (many people had similar problems to mine but said it was fixed with what you showed!) I’m looking forward to trying again and fixing my problem
you really know how to use that sprayer. I've seen so many people use that sprayer on youtube and did a horrible job but you did a great job. Would of been nice to see you spray that in normal time
I have never used a paint sprayer; and with a new house soon to be moved into, with a lot of painting required, I decided to buy a Wagner 690 Flexio…slight sense of intrepidation, so may use on an internal garage wall first! Any extra tips for ceilings etc would be greatly appreciated…great video, thank you.
I fully agree with @daengineer1553. None of the Wagner vidoes mentions the screw on the trigger and mine was half way out. All I got was PAINT SPLATTER. Once I cranked it in I got a smooth finish. Thank You.
The top front would set it to thin that would limit the width of the paint. The daily around it adjusts the nozzle from like a 2.0mm down to a 1.0mm? The trigger sets the pressure? I don't understand what that means. The amount of pressure that is sent into the tub to force the paint out or how much air is coming from the front nozzles, blowing into the paint that is coming out? Is it paint pressure or air pressure? Both? The turbo seems to be for air pressure but I don't want to assume. I don't want it throwing out huge amounts of paint. I want a nice finish. Based on your description, I think I need the thinnest line for control, nmthinning the paint solvent enamel should be a 2-3? Trigger that depress as much as possible if it's air coming out the front pointing inwards? Turn the turbine up as high as it will go? Thank you for the video
That "turbine motor" is called is called the atomizer. That model is an HVLP atomizer model, which turns the paint into a super fine mist as it atomizes the paint during the spray process.
The yellow screw 5:24 seems to serve no particular purpose with this combination, and has nothing to do with the volume . The only problem it may cause is if it is screwed right out it may interfere with the pump body. The trigger is for the W 2000 and 3000 models with the 2 stage pump stop-start on the trigger so you can adjust the play in the trigger from pump on to paint on. The W 575 model has the side on off switches so doesn't need that part of the trigger. They obviously both use the same spray/tank unit. The stop for the W575 model is a small steel screw behind the trigger, above the yellow screw. Took a bit of a search to find this out, as somebody else here commented there is nothing in the 575 instructions which mentions this. They are a handy sprayer and make the job easy. I found thinning acrylic paint 10-20% with a flow rate of 2-3 on low speed works well. I still have a Wagner W 400SE electronic piston sprayer I bought in the late 70s which is still working well, but is way obsolete, so I thought it was time to upgrade as parts are hard to find. The only down side with the new guns is they are bigger, heavier and need separate accessories to do the same as one of the early piston guns. Good video for beginners .
This is the video I've been looking for; thanks! So much more information than others I've watched (like the one that started, "this is my first time using this sprayer). Most excdellent.
I appreciate the insights. I had problems with sputtering and paint oozing out the tip. Your video helped to solve the issue. Thank you!!! problem solved!!!! Love the sprayer and I really enjoy using it.
Can I ask what you did that made the difference? I had a terrible time with mine today it just kept spitting out gloves. I tried every adjustment and I kept wiping the tip as it tells you to do if you turn it off. It just seemed like it was clogging up the whole time.
Have you ever painted furniture with this sprayer? Or other projects? I built a small closet in my son's room, baltic birch wood, nice stuff! I would love to learn how to do this myself instead of the crazy prices I have been quoted to do it, It's small, 4' wide, 6' tall, maybe 2' deep and only painting the outside, inside will be clear sealer. Any thoughts would be great. PS - Really enjoyed the video!!!
I got mine. Figured it out using a few times. Now i paint like a pro. You have to have in the right setting or it wont paint right. Depends on what paint, varnish, stain your using
I have seen some videos that talk about the importance of straining your paint first. Is that neccessary? And also, suggestions to use a bag to hold the paint inside the canister so if you have leftover paint, you can just tie it up and use it the next day if you are not finished with the product. Is this suggested?

It happened to me also. There's a small, sneaky drain hole at the top of the paint spout. Take off the white 'halo' and clean that hole. I didn''t clean it, it dried and clogged, the machine ran but wouldn't spray. Cleaning that hole was the answer. good luck.
Every now and then if it gets too heavy. It does some practice to keep it moving. Consider thinning the paint w teaspoon of water and lowering settings.

I'll probably have to sand down the doors lightly and the next attempt will be with paint so if it sounds like I did something wrong please let me know but in the end I had it on about it number 8 and number 2 Turbo with the wide setting🙄 it also seemed like it was using a ton of product and I have to admit it's very hard to clean. My sprayer is spraying exactly the opposite pattern I expect. When the nozzle is horizontal, I expect a horizontal fan pattern where the left and right are angled in the spray pattern. Instead, I get the vertical fan where the spray is angled up and down. I'm assembling the unit exactly as described, but the pattern is never the same as the spray nozzle, but rather the opposite. :(
That is correct. It is counterintuitive. Position the yellow directional head opposite of how you want paint to flow. It is that way because of how the air pushes the paint
@@DIYHIPChicks Hello! They're asking if you sprayed the whole wall/area with one canister fill or did you have to stop and refill the canister to finish the project? Basically how much paint did you use? 😊

I’m thoroughly cleaning it , every millimeter of this thing is spotless, so I know nothing is clogged. Best tip - take apart and wash thoroughly. Is paint older, too thick? Add tbsp water to cup. Check that the small hole on spout stem is clear. Make sure vacuum hose on side is secure. LMK if any of that helps.
No matter what I tried I could not get a smooth finish. Also be careful not to screw that trigger not too far because it'll cause paint to use out the front and you'll end up with a bunch of boogers all over whatever you're painting
These suck....total overkill. Get paint everywhere, and after the first few uses require all sorts of special cleaning and troubleshooting just for them to run for 5 minutes. Its a nice idea, but another manifestation of our "Everything fast and instant" culure. Just pick out a day or two, get a friend or family member to help...and buy them pizza. It's worked for centuries.
I bought this sprayer and tried to use it twice. Total garbage! It is loud, heavy, unwieldy, when it sprays any paint (which isn't often) it ends up spraying it on EVERYTHING in the room. Save your time, money, and sanity, just get a brush and roller. Also the unit takes close to an hour to clean up.
nah...they're just kinda trash after the first few uses. All kinds of troubleshooting and meticulous cleaning just to run for 5 minutes. You could learn to use and maintain a firearm in 1 weekend, for the rest of your life....without the mess.
You know what!

Yes. DIfferent settings for thinner solutions

Tip is clogged. Trying running it with dish washer put it in different setting low and high. Or paint thinner if its oil paints

It's worked for centuries.
interesting until you said it was fun--- PAINt... a dentist is fun- they have gas...

I should ahve watched this a long time ago
nah...they're just kinda trash after the first few uses.
All kinds of troubleshooting and meticulous cleaning just to run for 5 minutes.
You could learn to use and maintain a firearm in 1 weekend, for the rest of your life....without the mess.
@@o.astamp5680 can do. But s gun won't paint the trim
SOrry you have not had a better experience.
