    I used this sprayer thanks to your video and with the paint I used my cabinets came out fantastic! I have to admit though I was a little skeptical when I opened the box the sprayer looked like something made by playschool but it worked great. The only negative thing I can say about it is that power switch in the handle although handy is in a bad spot. Several times I accidentally shut the power off and one time it just spit paint out as it was shutting off. It made a mess on my cabinets but I was able to clean it up and continue without any problems.

How does that sprayer work with water based polyurethane for the clear inside? Or Would i be better off using clear lacquer for inside and maybe get a second fine sprayer for water based paints (if necessary)?

    I just bought a 1400 SQ ft ranch style single story home in TX and want to paint the exterior. What would you recommend for a beginner to spray paint the exterior of a small house like this?
    Edited to add: the siding is a fiber cement board and it's a new build. Do I still need to sand on a new build? I'm also going to be painting the entire interior, as well as the cabinets in the bathrooms, laundry room and kitchen eventually as well so I'm hoping to buy a sprayer that can do it all, big and small jobs. I'll be painting furniture at some point too but I can use a brush a roller for that (and some of the above jobs if I need to - if there is no such thing as a single sprayer that does all of the above). But I think it's all a matter of different tips and settings, right? Willing to spend a decent amount on this since I consider it to be an investment. I'm doing everything myself. ✌️

    • @diypainting
      @diypainting  Год назад +1

      You can go two ways, get a sprayer that is ideal for the cabinets, but will still work on the exterior. Or get a sprayer that is ideal for the exterior but will still be ok for cabinets. OR, just get both.
      If you're willing to spend a little more, my suggestion would be to get the Wagner Control Pro 150 (you can see my video on it here: app.sitebuddy.io/login) for your exterior project. You'll love it. It's a great little sprayer, perfect for your size home.
      Then, I'd invest in the Flexio 5000 for all your cabinets and small projects.
      The Flexio would be quite slow for your exterior, but would work if you wanted. And the Control Pro is a little harder to get to perfectly smooth finish without getting runs.
      When you're done, drop the Control Pro onto Facebook, you will likely not need that type of sprayer again and the 5000 will cover all your small spraying needs.
      Links:
      Control Pro: amzn.to/3KwcXz7
      Flexio: amzn.to/3MfZ9tL

    • @diypainting
      @diypainting  Год назад +1

      Also, you don't need to sand new fiber cement board, just make sure its clean.
      To directly answer the question, if you have to choose one sprayer, I'd go with the Flexio 5000. It's going to be slower on the exterior, but IMO, most people can live with that but they would much rather have the best finish possible on their cabinets. Plus you can use it for your furniture in the future.

    • @diypainting
      @diypainting  Месяц назад

      This was a job I did for a friend and they were replacing the hardware when I was done, so I wanted to try leaving the doors on, which IMO seemed like a legit thing to do if you are DIYing your cabinets. It actually worked pretty well. Leaving them on probably saved me 8-9 hours on the total project and didn't sacrifice quality at all. I still plastic'd off the insides of the cabinets, then sprayed everything with the doors shut, and finally went back and opened all the doors and sprayed the back sides. Worked great. Though I do always take them off for my main clients.

    I just bought this sprayer. The results were poor. Nowhere does it state to thin the paint! I used the larger sprayer on a big bookcase. Should have used the small sprayer? Wagner only has the size of the spray in the instructions but no guidance on when to use each sprayer. The packaging is funky. Painting on a flat horizontal surface was terrible (yes I had the pickup tube pointed correctly ( i think.).Paint would spit out because the nozzle clogged. No guidance from Wagner. Wagner wants to let the community figure it out. What a bunch of cheapskates!. Will return to Amazon or throw in trash.

    What’s your favourite grain filler? I, doing a kitchen very similar and see a ton of options for grain fillers. I’m not worried about cost, more worried about ease of application and quality !

    Don't waste your money about this product, buy something better like Graco magnum or titan.

    This guy seems like a RUclips painter, not a real professional painter.

      Totally get it. These videos are definitely made for the DIY homeowner, not professionals. However, I've spent 23 years painting in commercial, new construction, and residential. In the videos, I try to do the job in a way that a DIYer can do the job also. That means using the tools that they would purchase and use, and doing things they would do like leave the doors on, paint over hinges, and so on. Anyway, thanks for watching!
