- It’s Showtime! #Beetlejuice#Beetlejuice Only in theaters September 6.
Beetlejuice is back! Oscar-nominated, singular creative visionary Tim Burton and Oscar nominee and star Michael Keaton reunite for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, the long-awaited sequel to Burton’s award-winning Beetlejuice.
Keaton returns to his iconic role alongside Oscar nominee Winona Ryder (Stranger Things, Little Women) as Lydia Deetz and two-time Emmy winner Catherine O’Hara (Schitt$ Creek, Corpse Bride) as Delia Deetz, with new cast members Justin Theroux (Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi, The Leftovers), Monica Bellucci (Spectre, The Matrix films), Arthur Conti (House of the Dragon) in his feature film debut, with Emmy nominee Jenna Ortega (Wednesday, Scream VI) as Lydia’s daughter, Astrid, and Oscar nominee Willem Dafoe (Poor Things, At Eternity’s Gate).
Beetlejuice is back! After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia's life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened. With trouble brewing in both realms, it's only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice's name three times and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem.
Burton, a genre unto himself, directs from a screenplay by Alfred Gough & Miles Millar (Wednesday), story by Gough & Millar and Seth Grahame-Smith (The LEGO® Batman Movie), based on characters created by Michael McDowell & Larry Wilson. The film’s producers are Marc Toberoff, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Tommy Harper and Burton, with Sara Desmond, Katterli Frauenfelder, Gough, Millar, Brad Pitt, Larry Wilson, Laurence Senelick, Pete Chiappetta, Andrew Lary, Anthony Tittanegro, Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg executive producing.
Burton’s creatives behind the scenes includes director of photography Haris Zambarloukos (Meg 2: The Trench, Murder on the Orient Express); such previous and frequent collaborators as production designer Mark Scruton (Wednesday), editor Jay Prychidny (Wednesday), Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood (Alice in Wonderland, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Sleepy Hollow), Oscar-winning creature effects and special makeup FX creative supervisor Neal Scanlan (Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) and Oscar-nominated composer Danny Elfman (Big Fish, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Batman); and Oscar-winning hair and makeup designer Christine Blundell (Topsy-Turvy).
A Warner Bros. Pictures presentation, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will be released only in theaters and IMAX on September 6, 2024 nationwide, and internationally beginning 4 September 2024. It will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Exactly what I thought! It still looks like the same weird low budget effects. Love it!
Same, I love theyre still using stop motion in some points like the sandworm
The icing on the cake to make it feel more 80s like would've been to include songs by the Cramps, like they did with "Goo Goo Muck" for Wednesday's famous dance scene! Either them or Oingo Boingo (Danny Elfman's old band) would've worked just fine imo! 😎

I think this film has alot of cleanness to it, but tgey managed to find a way to make it work.
Compare to tge Sandworm between then and now. While they both show similar charm, the newer ones shows the larger tool set to make it cleaner.
Any other modern film would opt to overhaul it, but here, they took what they already had and refined it.

It also makes me hope for a third movie to finally finish the joke.
Edit:
Although very obvious a third movie titled "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" is planned to be made next, nothing is guaranteed unfortunately.
Michael Keaton, and many of the other returning original actors are getting old and might not be available by the time the third movie starts production, the movie most likely won't be made if the actors aren't available. Even if all of the actors are still here, the movie itself will need to be green lit and have the funding to even begin said production. Even succeeding in those, there is still the possibility of the movie being shelved or abandoned abruptly.
A lot of things could happen that can stop the third movie from being made. Which is why I *hope* for a third movie to be made.

Same, except because he terrifies me anyway just as he is.
i loved him in american psycho

"They had us in the first hslf, not gonna lie"
Monica Bellucci and Winona Ryder teaming up after Francis Ford Coppola's adaptation of Dracula. I'm sold.
michael keaton is literally one of the best actors hands down . It’s so crazy after so many years he’s able to perfect that role again , the cinematography looks absolutely beautiful, all the movie shots they show in the trailer looks so good .
In movie everybody say: ,,Marie Curie”. It was Maria Skłodowska - Curie! She was polish and she married French.
Fun fact: Maria Skłodowska used only her french surname because for non-polish people it is quite hard to pronounce ,,Skłodowska”. And btw Polon was named to pay tribute to her country!
I like how Beetlejuice works at a scammer call center.
OMG that's hilarious and would make so much more sense! 😂
I will see this 67 times at the cinema and it will keep getting funnier EVERY SINGLE TIME I SEE IT!!!
Howdy fellow gentleman of sophistication 😂😂😂
Thats 🪲beetle juice 201x
Not to mention the fact that you're laughing at a dead guy.
you have lot of free time young man don't waste it on entertainment, spent it on your future building , look at me I'm 55 and a multimillionaire and still earing multi millions a year and not wasting my time in these waste of time entertainment, learn from me, get inspired from me, lick my butt
Man, not setting yourself up for disappointment I hope...
I'm even tempted to actually pay for this in cinema just to support them
Same!
Same here. Haven't been to the movies in a long time. I definitely want to see this in the theater. I hope it's good!
I wouldn't jump the shark, just yet. It will probably be mediocre, at best. As a previous film buff, I've given up on watching new movies and am giving this a hard pass.
Same here. Long time since I’ve been to the movies but I’m traveling to the nearest actual decent theater to see it with some friends
75% critic 85% audience reviews. Looks like everyoneloves it. @misschris325
This film was genuinely wayyyy better than I’d expected. As far as belated sequels go this was so enjoyable, I’d watch it again omg!
I hate Tim Burton films, except for Sleepy Hollow 1999
Hey Disney, FYI: THIS is how you do a sequel. I was so skeptical at first, and now I cannot wait to see this film.
You haven't even seen it yet. It will be terrible.
@@williamthompson5504 and you havent seen it yet so how do you know its going to be terrible. Shut up man

Finally someone with the balls to use practical effects. Movies need more of this.
Plane, face reveal, sand worm, all CG. Which is the point. CG is fine, if you can't tell. Which you couldn't.
@@myopiczealThat plane crashing was TERRIBLY rendered CGI. You can tell. Anyone can tell. Will they fix it before the release though? Probably not.
@@myopiczealpretty sure the sand worm was stop motion? As it was in the original.
That render on the plane looks pretty intentional, if you ask me
@@myopiczeal the sandworm was stop motion, Tim Burton even said he wouldn’t do the project if he couldn't do his own flair of CG and stop motion. The background is probably rendered in CG, but the sandwork isn’t
Since we’re not getting Stranger Things this year, this is a perfect way to get our Winona fix.
Ah, man. I have some mixed emotions on this one. Beetlejuice is my all-time fav from when I was a kid. I spent a lot of my time as a kid with my grandparents, with 4 tv stations, no satellite, no cable. We only had a couple movies on VHS, and this was one of them. I love the simplicity of the original. I'm afraid this one is going to be too much, too over the top, but I'm going to give it a fair chance. I really hope I love it too.
I just appreciate that it's not a remake! Or a prequel! An actual sequel?!
There have been a lot of recent movies that have just been regular sequels. And there are also a lot of movies which are original ideas not based on existing franchises. Audiences don't spend theater money on movies that aren't Batman or existing properties. Hollywood is boxed in.
Many of them paid the bucks for orginal movies
Stranger things casting Winona was the best thing to happen to give her a career again so they could do a sequel of a classic
Stranger Things definitely saved her career 😂😂😂😂
Its about Keaton... Didnt think she really had a career
I absolutely freaked when I saw the intro to Stranger Things and saw her name come up first in the credits! The world had come fill circle for me 👍
@@SuperDuperWulgerBros-hq2leWinona had quite a prolific career when she was younger, it would be fair to call her an A-lister, if maybe on the lower half of the list.
I’m so glad she has her career back now
Lydia '88 - "No, mom. Is not a stage".
Lydia '24 - "See?"
If you're still the same person in your 50's as you were in your 20's, something is seriously wrong with you.
So this is a sequel?
@chrisrusche2109 but what if you actually happened to be a sane and decent person. It can happen sometimes 😂
@ljeans531 what did you think it was?
Lydia is clearly still true to her spooky self which is awesome to see.
saw this movie today.. Brilliant.. Utter entertainment
If this doesn’t get nominated for Best Makeup at the next Oscar ceremony, I’m gonna be really upset.
Best makeup where? They did Monica Bellucci so dirty
@@qulep Look, one thing that made the original movie so great was the practical effects, to the point where it won Best Makeup at the Oscars. If Michael Keaton and Tim Burton are really saying that this film is going to have a lot of practical effects, then I’m expecting it to get at least a nomination.
If it doesnt get nominated for Best Music... Danny Elfman is long overdue for an Oscar
@erickthebat4805 Really! The first one won an Oscar for best makeup, so I'm hoping this one will at least get a nomination. Although the way the Oscars treat horror movies/movies that don't fit into their nice neat little boxes has me wary. They already did Toni Collette dirty by not at least *nominating* her for best actress for her role in Hereditary!
"Here's a preview"
That was the best preview for a trailer without spoiling the trailer, thank you
How a preview should be done.
Judging by the fact that Monica Belucci is playing Betelgeuse's wife, and how you see a missing finger at @1:36, I am pretty sure that that is the same finger that Betelgeuse had when trying to give Lydia the wedding ring, and I think that could be a clever detail and more than just a one-off joke.
Then old BJ is in for a round of questioning... "What did you mean I meant nothing at all?!"
@Arkxyz and done made himself meme fodder
I thought so too she the one with the ring and finger. Think it's who he was married to when he was alive
@@Arkxyz Maybe that's why she seems pissed.
@@jacobbramlett3251 Maybe he didn't like PICK UP artists.
You had me at undead Monica Bellucci.
Burtons new wife so she’s gotta be in his films
So that's why she doesn't seem to age...
Not the first time considering she was in Dracula from 1992... ALSO STARRING WINONA RYDER!
That woman is 59 years old and still breathtaking. Must have made a pact with the Devil. No other explanation!
Willem Defoe is a great addition too.
This one of my mother's favorites movies before she died.
I Love You, Mom ❤😢🙏🕊
She won't see your comment
RIP Mom
She will be watching with you❤
Then you watch in her honor.
Same. My mom loved that film. She's even watch the Beetlejuice cartoon with me. Miss you mom!
Cannot WAIT for this sequel. The fact that Keaton has aged just makes him all that much more creepy-looking to perfect this role!
- Monica Belucci missing her ring finger at 1:34... Beetlejuice pulling the ring off the severed finger in the first movie... I see a story arc coming
- When Keaton says, 'I'm gonna make you so happy' in the not-so-Keaton voice, Ryder from behind appears to be smiling and gestures as if she nervous-laughs, plus several scenes where they are doing things together- suggesting they might be friends in this movie (like the animated series) trying to vanquish/escape the villains Belucci and Dafoe. Belucci IS holding up the Danny Devito character when she asks 'Vere ess Beetlejuice?'
- One of the most iconic scenes of the first film was the dinner party where the uppity guests got spooked... I see at 1:23 a Halloween party getting the same treatment 🤩
- If those are all deceased handmaids standing behind Catherine O'Hara, that would be the blackest comedy right there (although they're probably witches that were drowned or burned at the stake).
- What appear to be frozen Turkish soldiers escorting Ortega to the train... another interesting detail 😶
- The DOUBLE-DELUXE LUNG TOSSER at 1:59 😍
I am so happy to see that I'm not the only person who noticed Monica Belucci's missing ring finger! That made me squeal in delight to see that continuity.
Good catch!!
0:37 Demon? He was a troublemaker but, a demon? Nah, he was just a “ghost with the most”. I want to see this!
Ok this might be the first movie I actually go see in years.
Same here. Humanity needs this! Hope it's good
I love when Lydiq gets her mouth wired shut like Barbara did 😂😂😂
Implies that she's dead in that scene, which is a huge spoiler. Or, they've simply forgotten how his powers work and are now allowing him to do that to living people.
@@casbyness I mean they made a whole room of living people sing Harry Belafonte and Beetlejuice magically put a wedding dress on Lydia which means there is some level of manipulation to the living. I'm pretty sure there weren't any "rules" they couldn't do certain things to the living. also, it's a movie about dead people doing magic, and sandworms on Saturn, so having a little more Suspension of disbelief will be more enjoyable than worrying what rules they may or may not have in the movie universe's logic.
WOW HAHA INSAW THE TRAILER TOO HAHAHA 🤣 😂😂
@@casbyness She did mention something about the living and dead coexisting so maybe they found a way for both to live together rather dead or alive.
A womans mouth is not for the exciting of words...
*"I am going to make you so happy."* You just did.
Winona Ryder was so born to play this role
Keaton is a legend. Who would have thought we'd ever see the original screen Batman or Beetlejuice again more than 3 decades later?
The "I'm gonna make you so happy," is my favorite part of this trailer
36 years later. Worth all that time.
