nice video. pro tip for you guys in the future. use a flathead screwdriver to remove the nail from the bracket of the wire racks instead of prying off the plastic clip with the nail fully inserted. it will leave just a nail hole, rather than a huge hole.
Awesome job! I just re-did my master bathroom, I hand-painted all the cabinets, trim and doors with Dixie Belle dried sage - that paint is SO easy to use and even though I painted all the cabinets, trim around counters and floor and the door by hand, it went really fast. So rewarding to do a room makeover by yourself. I love your laundry room. I'd be in there all day, too!
I'm using the Wagner 590 to paint my oak kitchen cabinets. I'm using BM advance paint. Do you have any recommendations for settings? I'm having splattering issues, as well as occasional air bubbles. I have tried thinned and un-thinned.
Just subscribed. I was not only impressed with the " after" of the laundry room, but also with your presentation and explanations of your work without too much bla-bla.
Wow! Beautiful Job! Just bought my 3500 FLexio Today! I'm a solo interior painter, but occasionally do Cabinets...and i know this 'new way' of doing things will be economized ( so many jobs...rolling and brushing...ha ha!....so much more work! what was i thinking?) So excited to try it out on an easy Cab job, coming up in a few days! thank you for the inspiration, and your very well done tutorial!
I love how you & your husband tackled the project together. You had vision for the finished room, he had a great idea with that guide to get level cabinets, etc. I love my spray paint tent! Was incredibly helpful when I had an apartment & the supe didn’t want me to spray paint the grass. lol (Still use it.) Paint sprayer next on my list... Thanks again for the inspiration and info!
I just did my first flip today. I Purchased the tent last year sometime but I just bought the Wagner. It’s been wild and I’ve hated some teachable moments. Thank you for all your advise. I can’t wait to do my next piece🤓❤️👍🏼
Awesome work I'm seriously impressed. You totally transformed that room. The last time I painted cabinets I used Benjamin Moore Scuff-X and I can't believe how durable it is. Now I did everything with a foam roller and got amazing results but regardless I highly recommend that paint. It's easy to clean and considering it's in our kitchen, it holds up to a lot of traffic and abuse. I just picked up one these sprayers and cannot wait to find my next project. Thanks for the video
Yay you!!! I absolutely love the color scheme and I laughed at the “staging” and effort you went to in order to pretty-up laundry supplies. (Staging and accessories aren’t included in the Reno budget lol) It’s not often that one feels proud to leave the laundry room door open and you most certainly have accomplished that! I bet within 6 months though you’ve painted the sink cabinets lol. Im watching this because I’m about to tackle a whole house make over and starting with repainting all my cabinets, walls, taking on some furniture stripping etc and some grass cloth updates. Anyway, I decided that since I’m doing it all myself as usual, I’d invest in a SurfPrep system and after watching this video, I just ordered a new Wagner sprayer. ( My husband and children bought it all for me for Christmas, they just don’t know it yet) I simply can’t deal with the OG sander and 20 y/o sprayer I have, I just about went insane trying to redo a simple patio table. Now I actually can’t wait to get started, so thanks! I thought I’d need to be a professional painter to both purchase and operate a decent paint sprayer. This looks entirely doable! Thanks so much …and kudos!
Every sprayer is so different, and i always forget the settings in between use, so i always have to practice before i use it again. Different paints act so different too! Maybe its just me. You did awesome on that room.
I got the Wagner after your video using it on the chairs a few months back and I’m so glad I did! It really is a game changer and gives such a professional finish. Now I need to get that tent😁 Your laundry room looks fabulous! Nice work girl Woohoo!
Respect. This is the type of work I'm too scared to do myself. Do you think this sprayer would be good for an exposed basement ceiling? I have a storage area I want to turn into an office, but I cannot finish the ceiling, as it is too low. Thanks.
Hi Christina, Is there a video of yours that you go into more details about that Wagner Paint Shelter. I have a bench and 2 shelves to paint and I'm in a garage with a LOOOOT of dust. I put varnish on something else, and it collected all the dust it could before drying. It's hard to find info on those Paint Shelters. How do you set to use it do you use drop cloths, plastic drop cloths? How much quarantining do you have to do? Are you in the garage or outside when you use it? Do you do more than one thing at a time?
I have the same sprayer and have been having problems with getting the settings correct. Your video was a godsend! Can you tell me the flow setting that you finally decided on for the Gatorhide? Also what settings do you use for DB clear coat and polyurethane? Thank you so much! I need to finish the spray project in my garage, lol.
I sprayed my Gator hide on this project at a 3 and the material flow I just start all the way down at - and move it up until it’s flowing nice. When I’m spraying a vertical surface with it, I bump it down to 1 or 2.
I am going to paint some kitchen cabinets. Is the water based top coat recommended still if I use latex paint with an egg shell or satin sheen, rather than using chalk paint?
I apologize if you’ve already answered this question but I’m not seeing it: why don’t you spray more of the furniture that you refinish since it’s faster and such a smooth finish? I’m genuinely curious about your perspective.
Gorgeous! I’ve taken most of the wire shelves out of our house too. One question, when do you have to prime before painting? Were you afraid the wood tannins would bleed through?
The giddiness in your voice during the reveal is priceless!! Amazing job!
Thank you to all the amazing men fellows who created all the tools including paint spray guns to make our life so much easier

The laundry room looks amazing and the finish on the cabinets is flawless! Great work with your Wagner sprayer!

I have only sprayed Gator Hide. I think the other DB topcoats are too thick to spray.
Beautiful.
Love your make over.
And yes my paint jars are all around my laundry too 🤣
#replay. Looks awesome! ❤ Thanks for the detail and tips. Once it warms up I hope to try air spraying. 🤞
Thanks for the inspiration! Beautiful job!
