The song is based on a comedy bit by the late comedian Bill Hicks, who hated the superficial culture of Los Angeles so much that he wished the southern half of California would fall into the ocean in some apocalypse so that the state of Arizona would have a coast line, hence "Arizona Bay" and in that case the best advice for those in So Cal would be to "learn to swim". The lyrics of Tool songs are important to the full enjoyment of the songs, imho. I've subbed for your Tool journey.

I am watching for your personal Tool journey if that means you pause rewind go over the lyrics do whatever your heart tells you and I will keep watching each and every Tool reaction you do. This LP here put Tool in GOAT category. They were doing stuff that we weren't ready for--and needed! Consider a full LP listen of Undertow. It would be like giving yourself an Angry Maynard birthday gift. Although The Grudge is considered his best, you hear MJK in beast-mode hroughout Undertow.
He's not there yet. But when he does, he will re-discover the band all over again. I'm kinda jealous to be honest. I dove into TOOL 100% when I first listened to them, lyrics, instrumentals, time signatures. I learned A LOT but it was a "one way trip", u know? lol

It's just that to me, this is a song which has its main focus on the message, since the instrumental is more straight forward compared to most of their other songs, and the lyrics more "in your face" also. I just love to see people react to the non-politically correct lyrics, it's my favorite part about seeing reaction to this particular song, so that's the reason for my initial comment. 😄

Arizona Bay is referring to Bill Hick's book, who would open for TOOL a lot before he died.
