This video looks like it's from the movie Pan's Labyrinth and has nothing to do with the song. It's not an actual video for the song, FYI.
TOOL is amazing, you should keep checking them out 😊

❤ You are correct! I didn't even know until after I made the reaction. I haven't seen the movie, but found out afterward. 😂🤦‍♀️
Even though I don't typically listen to this genre of music, I like it! Glad my brother recommended it 😊❤

I think this song is talking about the ideal of 2-extra chromosome's....don

For those confused I posted the lyrics with interpretation video for this song. Lyrics videos for TOOL songs don’t always help you have to watch lyrics with interpretation videos for TOOL songs. Music videos like this Pans Labyrinth inspired one cause more confusion because they don’t have anything to do with the song just for I guess visual effects

❤️ Thank you for taking out the time to attach the lyrics & interpretation video of this song. Although I like the visual aspects of the video I reacted to, it really had nothing to do with the song. Thanks again! ❤️

@@SouthernBelle_lol you did a great job 👍 TOOL lyrics and meanings are challenging and Maynard’s play on words and double meanings is well known. I subbed to your channel and can’t wait to view more videos from you, especially if you do more TOOL content.

❤️That's a great idea! See...that's the kind of constructive feedback I love. I've gotten some not-so-nice comments in the past that offered zero advice. Just viewers being rude. I don't take it personally.
Thank you so much for the tip and welcoming me. You ROCK! ❤️

Can't blame her though! Ever since MTV, etc., videos have become a mainstay for delivering audio. And 99% of videos are 1:1 with the music. She also has no idea Tool had nothing to do with the video. How could anyone not familiar know Tool don't play that?
My only crit is... and this is where you're so right... there wasn't anything said about the music! 😆
Love Pan vid though. Great song for it.

❤️ I appreciate your feedback. I was so confused by the end of it, but tried to disect some of the lyrics as best I could after the video ended.
Definitely enjoyed the music video even though, later discovering, it came from a movie. Then again, I'm weird and happen to love strange visuals. 🙃❤️

Reactions to music should never contain video. Very few people can focus on both at the same time and the video will almost always be the primary focus.

Hey! Looks like you found out Tool isn't an everyday, straightforward band for "video" reactions. 😆And "official" music videos are just as creepy, if not more. Very broadly speaking, humans have 46 chromosomes the song is about becoming a new person (or awareness) with 2 more chromosomes and shedding your old self, aka, skin. But it's not easy since your old self, your shadow, will always follow.
Live performance of "Sober" '93 Reading festival. You'll get to see the lead singer in a pink onsie. Who doesn't want to see that?!
If you listen long enough without your eyes, you start getting these: 🌀Cheers to your bro!

The best song to start off with Tool is The Pot and then Jambi…from there you’ll be a part of the Tool army and you can pick any song after that and still be blown away…the video is not the video for the song…no clue what that is…but this song is on the first Captain America movie soundtrack

Sometimes watching the video instead of listening to and/or reading the lyrics can be distracting. This is a song about evolution that uses the metaphor of genetic and physical evolution to promote intellectual and spiritual evolution. The references to “shedding skin” and “crawling on my belly” invite comparison to a snake, which replaces its skin as it grows. The premise is humans would deviate from the current state of human DNA which contains 44 autosomes and 2 sex chromosomes. The next step of evolution would likely result in human DNA being reorganized into 46 autosomes and two sex chromosomes. Sorry for the long explanation. PS, you're not that old....this came out in 1998.

❤️ Thank you for explaining the content of the lyrics. I could've researched the song before reacting to it, but wanted to give a real reaction. Now that I understand the meaning of the song, it makes perfect sense now. PS...I should've heard this song long before now, being it came out in 1998. I was 18 when it came out 😬😅❤️

@@SouthernBelle_lol They have some pretty intense lyrics in most of their songs. One of my favorites is 'Vicarious'. It's about how humanity gets sucked into television and media and the bad that it brings with it. Tremendous lyrics and the music (Danny Carey on the drums) is incredible. Good luck with your channel, I will subscribe to see how you do. Cheers.

@SouthernBelle_lol @SouthernBelle_lol my apologies. I meant it as constructive criticism. You really should use only lyric videos. This music is pretty special. They really are a TOOL for healing and moving on from life's traumas. The depth of his lyrics is inspiring, and have helped many people in their journeys. You should really give them a shot and actually listen to the message within.
