Music videos like this Pans Labyrinth inspired one cause more confusion because they don’t have anything to do with the song just for I guess visual effects

The premise is humans would deviate from the current state of human DNA which contains 44 autosomes and 2 sex chromosomes. The next step of evolution would likely result in human DNA being reorganized into 46 autosomes and two sex chromosomes. Sorry for the long explanation. PS, you're not that old....this came out in 1998.
