My problem when still going to concerts was that I saw bands as Tool and Soundgarden a few months BEFORE I became a fan of them. I remember I saw tool as a warm-up band of Rage against the machine. I definetly liked them, but did not know any song. Now it would be a major event to see them life again. At least I can say I saw them life.
You're fucking lucky, i was born in 97. All these bands were gone by the time i had money to see them. But one summer i saved all my money cause guess what, soundgarden was playing in my home town detriot, loved the show but when i woke up that morning you can guess what happened.
I saw Fallout Boy play a show in front of about 75 people at a VFW or something before people knew them. Not as cool, but closest thing I've got. Alien Ant Farm in a parking lot outside a bar once too.
"Live" my friend, "Life" has a completely different meaning. Plus it is a noun where in most cases "Live" is a verb where in this case it's an adjective. Oh but I'm so happy you were able to see them perform. It's unreal isn't it.
Man these dudes never cease to amaze me. One of THE most talented bands ive ever heard and to this day sound fucking amazing on everything live ive ever seen and its not doctored its straight up live footage recorded at the board possibly if not probable. Real deal....Tool was are will be performers to the utmost.
his physical performance is almost not human, so much emotion portrayed through movement. its like his emotions he felt writing the song make themselves flesh through his skin
Saw this live in ‘96 in providence. Life altering experience. I can still remember my friend yelling, “He’s all painted blue!”, And my other friend yelling for Psychotica to finish their set.
I had tix to see Afghan Whigs at St. Andrews Hall in Detroit in the 90's and they opened their own show so they could leave early and see Tool at Cobo Arena!! Respect 💯
I wouldn't even put this in the same genre, it's it's own thing, yeah it's heavy sounding but it's progressive, the bass lines and drum patterns are incredibly clever, the lyrics are just exceptional, one of my favourite bands, just fantastic
you are doing an exellent job Hunt keep up the good work, this videos keep my ego way to high, saludos desde tijuana, (This may hurt a little but it's something you'll get used to) not a good song to go to sleep
I’ve always liked Tools music, but never really payed attention to them. Then I realized every band I loved sounded allot like tube. I can honestly now say Tool is THE only band that counts since the 90s.
Discovered tool in late 1995 endeavored to see as many live performances as possible for their first album release.. searching desperately for the Riverside theater Milwaukee Wisconsin of 1996 that particular performance was complete and exhilarating.. any recording of that performance will do please post as soon as possible..
usually the first mic' has different sound effects (this "phone-talk" kinda voice), and the second mic is used for his 'normal' voice, with just a little bit of reverb and delay effect to get that deep-scream thing. As for this performance I guess that something wrong happened to the phone talk effect- we cant hear it. Probably technical difficulties, but MJK didnt stop performing.
Tool is incredible, as is Maynard's voice, obviously, but personally, his weird, spasm-y 'dance' moves are super off-putting and/or distracting to me from how incredible this performance is.
Good song. Overrated band and singer. Trent Reznor wanted to work with Maynard but Maynard who has always been to big for what tool fans think they are
When I first heard Tool on the radio I thought they had 2 drummers 😂 Wasn’t no way one man could play all that!
Maynard's most incredible vocal performance in my opinion
that and Sober live with the pink pyjamas
Santa Cruz 94 with MJK featuring LSD is my personal favorite.
There’s such a ferocity in his delivery here im never heard on record
Yeah this whole set is spot on
If you born in the 70’s like me it is his best. Agreed.
‘I don’t want it, I just need it, to breathe, to know that I’m alive.’ 😢 me too.
you need a fisting? wow, not the first thing that comes to mind but you do you.
(Hugs to you) me too, my friend.
This is it right here! Minimalist stage setup (no LED lights or giant screens), intimate venue, and an incredible performance by amazing musicians!
Guitar, drum, bass, vocals
The pinnacle of human existence... 1996 at a TOOL show.
no cell phones
And Billy running around for setup before apc was even a thought

When you think of the quality of music Tool was putting out live in 1996, this is mind blowing. Tool Army rise up!

Bruh, pre 9 years of meiosis me wishes he was there.
I wish sperm cell me which didn’t exist could have been there
Yeah same for 3 year old me I wish would have been there so I could get scared and cry and stuff
his physical performance is almost not human, so much emotion portrayed through movement. its like his emotions he felt writing the song make themselves flesh through his skin
Wow, 46 n 2 gave me chills. Great sound. Just goes to show Tool's music stands by itself.
Maynard moves like an alien trying to figure out how to work his human suit
if I had a time machine, I would go to this live.
i love that you can see danny in the most of the shot, always interesting to look at what he can do with two hands
THIS is the TOOL I will always remember! Opiate and Undertow included of course!
Epic material! Thanks for recording this session on analogue tape 3 decades ago!
Whoever attended this show is so god damn lucky
Adam's creepy ass stare at 10:30 is so frightening. Love the dude.
Bro that drum solo was crazy
My good god, what a masterpiece!

Saw this live in ‘96 in providence.
Life altering experience.
I can still remember my friend yelling, “He’s all painted blue!”,
And my other friend yelling for Psychotica to finish their set.

who could ever forget the time your friend yelled '' he's all painted blue''
Love it.Very intense. He moves just like the characters in the animated in the videos.
Love how there is not one phone anywhere 🤘🤘💕💕
For me this song is all about Danny and Maynard.... just the best
Holy shit, that gave me goosebumps, that was the best live performance I think I've ever seen tool do
U can hear every emotional cadence at the end of each word
I had tix to see Afghan Whigs at St. Andrews Hall in Detroit in the 90's and they opened their own show so they could leave early and see Tool at Cobo Arena!! Respect 💯
If i was granted three wishes witnessing this live would be the first one.
Thanks for posting this video.
What a epic performance outstanding one of my all time favorites by tool Maynard is the only one who can get away with using 2 mics at once
I believe I've also seen serj do it.. both outstanding artists though
Just musical genius. Blew my mind today
What a perfomence
When u finally realize the true meaning of stinkfist the song😂 he really does hate his fans😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 love it
I'm not a fan of metal but I love love love Tool. In a league of their own for sure 😮
I wouldn't even put this in the same genre, it's it's own thing, yeah it's heavy sounding but it's progressive, the bass lines and drum patterns are incredibly clever, the lyrics are just exceptional, one of my favourite bands, just fantastic
man, they transcended that genre definition years ago. they're their own thing at this point.
damn, couldnt help but also see the drummer go mental on those percussions, that fucker can play
Best drummer of all time. Danny Carey
you are doing an exellent job Hunt keep up the good work, this videos keep my ego way to high, saludos desde tijuana,
(This may hurt a little but it's something you'll get used to)

I’ve always liked Tools music, but never really payed attention to them. Then I realized every band I loved sounded allot like tube. I can honestly now say Tool is THE only band that counts since the 90s.
Oh TOOL , why the fuck you gotta be so good.?
Back when tool were fun to see live

Maynard has the best moves.

Adam Jones and Tom Morrello came fro the same town! Wow
I think they went to the same high school
...🛠Tool🛠FOREVER...
justins stingray tone on 46&2 is spanky as hell
Just after 4:15 imagine Maynard stepping on Cockroaches
Think this same year I saw them in Albuquerque. L7 opened for them?
look up the shadow theory or something like that. i think wikipedia has something on it. it's kinda weird but I love the song
Why Maynard doesn’t have tattoos???
Is that Paul or Justin on bass?
Justin.
@@huntingtonst Okay thank you ❤️
First time to see you perform qow
Wow like you in your boxers dancing all sexy like
Ol' 2 mic maynard
Never wanted to wipe a lens so much. Revenge of the smudged fingerprint. Lol
10:24 even the security is having a good time
Incredible better than cd
Paul D'Amour on bass. Justin is awesome but the mindless flock seems to forget some of the best TooL songs derived from this lineup!
Tim you might be retarded. That’s 100% Justin Chancellor on stage.
Justin was in the band by this point.
I bring out the creep.
What is 46 and 2 referring to?
MeganErb evolution

To expand your threshold of knowledge.
One microphone can't contain the awesomeness
He does the echo thing at the start of the verse using the 2 mics!
What would happen if took went to the midevialtimes with there huge amps and lights and stuff and started playing,..what would the people think
