This song makes me rly happy as a Sin fan. The lyrics are all about how he represents all of those who have come before him, he's the combination of so many complicated characters and he's going to blaze a trail through the future. Guilty Gears story is in a bit of a transitionary phase rn, almost every characters stories have hit their resolution including Sol who is effectively retired, and Sin is being set up to succeed him starting with the new anime which is exciting. Speaking of which, my guess rn is this song is gonna end up being the opening for that new anime too, it definently gives anime OP vibes to me. Don't neglect Guilty Gear XX and Xrd music! Those two games have all the famous songs everyone knows, Isuka is good too but I'm def looking forward to you hearing the XX and Xrd OSTs the most. My recommendations for XX would include: Awe of She, Meet Again, Holy Orders: Be Just Or Be Dead, Still In The Dark, Existence, and then my Xrd recommendations would be Magnolia Eclair, Engage, Marionette, Diva of Despair, and Does the sheep count the sheep. And in terms of Xrd vocal themes, Storyteller, Break a Spell, Big Blast Sonic, Freesia, and Lily are all amazing and worth listening to. The Korean version of XX is also a treasure trove of OSTs. Pillars of the Underworld (and also Vortex Infinitum which is a remix of Pillars), Blacklight Babe, and The Vampire Saga are my faves from the Korean version.

WE NEED LEOPALDON IN STRIVE!!!! funny song to do as one of the first outside of Strive. This song and A.B.A's Isuka theme are the only Isuka tracks I've personally heard but I've been meaning to change that. Guilty Gear Isuka is kind of a weird free for all spin off? It's built off of Guilty Gear XX as a base so it's similar but also quite different and pretty jank and weird. Leopaldon is the boss of the game, similar to how Justice, Dizzy, I-No, Ramlethal, Jack-O and Nagoriyuki are all bosses of their respective games. We barely know shit about Leopaldon, he's never even been playable in any complete way, he was just the boss. I say he, but we don't really know what to refer to it as, and given that all the other boss characters in the series except for Nago are girls, who knows man. But yeah Leopaldon is... a massive, Megadeath class Gear corpse, fused to a dog, piloted by a sorcerer... And in the boss fight the Gear part of the whole character is invulnerable, you have to attack the sorcerer and the dog in its mouth by jumping up to them, it's really jank. Apparently the sorcerer is a nice guy though. I really wanna see them bring this character into Strive for a multitude of reasons, first one being I wanna see how the fuck they would adapt this thing into an actual playable fighting game character that works lol, it just seems incompatible but I really want to see it. There's also barely any content for this character, to the point it's hard to really even get a grasp for what you're looking at, like there's no concrete design for it really, so I wanna see what they'd look like in a high fidelity game like Strive. It would also just be a shocking reveal for sure, this character is a meme, but Arcsys say they're not writing off any suggestion, they simply aim to please, so all we've gotta do is vouch for him enough... A.B.A debuted in Isuka too, but she made the jump over to main series with one of the XX updates, and now she's in Strive, so really who knows. A.B.A was one of the few Strive picks they made that wasn't based on story or on popularity (although secretly she did become super popular while they were developing her), they picked her purely for the shock factor, so they could try to do that again with Leopaldon. This song is hilarious. Apparently the vocal parts have lyrics? But I've never seen any transcription of them, and they're just so unintelligible it's insane. The name is equally hilarious, apparently it's meant to be a corruption of the phrase "It's a dog eat dog world", which... good job Daisuke.

The thing you identified as an orchestral sound is actually Steven Wilson playing a Mellotron (a classic proggy instrument, developed in the UK in the '60s). Steven produced/engineered this album, 'Damnation', and he also added the harmony vocals; you can distinguish it as him if you focus on it.

Damn usually the first non-Strive song is Holy Orders, still recommend that one though it's popular for a reason. For the production value - Xrd is 2010s but still mostly instrumental (for character themes only Raven has vocals). I get quite lost in what song is from what game because I wasn't there for their release, but Spotify has Guilty Gear Sound Complete Box compilations for all of the older songs from Isuka, Guilty Gear 2, GGXX and others. For something more out there for Guilty Gear I recommend Witch from Guilty Gear 2 Overture.

This song was wrote as a them tune for a film called Rush. It's a misconception that it was about his son Connor. The song dedicated to his son was circus left town as that was the last thing he did or one of the last things he did with him.

I agree with you. Look these gals were inspired by a game called "Rock Band" ... not "Guitar Hero". So there it is. When Dany does play leads, she plays the melodic type, not the shred. It is always about serving the song with them. Most of their songs don't need leads, since they are always well crafted. This song however, being of the classic "Arena Rock" genre, it needed a David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) type lead break, and that's what we get.

I really like your unique perspective on the music of Strive, and appreciate that you don't try to sound more excited to match viewers' expectations Strive's themes are very character-based, we are talking about a song writer here who's *also* the story writer- but if we're gonna judge them as music period this kinda perspective is apt, too! So I hope my explaining lore sometimes doesn't come across as trying to lecture you, and you're always free to scroll past anything ^^ On that note, one aspect of this track is that Dizzy was a "tragic boss" character in her debut game, and so this song actually uses a lotta motifs of her old boss theme "Awe of She" but changed to be triumphant and optimistic. At 4:28 we get a direct callback to the main melody of that old theme as it was back in the day. (And then 6:04 imo is a notable moment where we hear it referenced triumphantly, but it's everywhere) The main deal with Dizzy is that she's of mixed Gear/human heritage in a world where Gears aren't recognized as people, and she's had to hide herself for most of her early life as a result. Eventually she met Ky Kiske, a veteran of the Gear-human war who's recently changed his perspective on Gears, and he inspires her to have faith that there is a future for folks like her. Together they're working to build a world where humans and Gears both can live in peace- and in turn Dizzy's Strive theme is about her reflecting on the past while feeling happy and grateful about the present.

I think the “offense” you’re referring to is that Dany already does many of these exact leads (Gilmour is her idol). So when people come in new without knowing the full catalog yet, saying they want more solos, fans who do know the entire catalog (wrongly?) assume they mean more beyond all she’s already done consistently from the beginning. Now, if you’ve heard the whole catalog & still think she needs more THEN we get into the they write to the song not to the old standard formula discussion.

Martirio means "martyrdom". I've always understood the song to be about people who play themselves as the victim, but they're just the victim of their own self-creative misery.
