You are doing the best doctor:) even it was early morning and your last working hour but you gave your enough time and made sure you satisfy my father!! So good to find you here Regards from your Pakistani patient and family :)
Can you please make a video on how you landed an fy2 job in the UK along with the resources that you used to crack plab. Also please shed some light on how long it took for you to get a job after getting your GMC registration.
Can you explain difference b/w trainee and A & E in little more detail.? Like why you choose it instead of trainee? And can we apply for the department we desire in A & E .. like how you choose emergency medicine .. can someone choose ..pediatric , IM, dermat etc for the 1 year A& e contract.?
First i want to congrats you about your videos... I'm learning a lot from it! I'm a Brazilian doctor and a have worked the past 13 years in the I.C.U, and I'm starting my journey to UK this month (Taking IELTS). I'm wondering if it's possible, as soon as I get my GMC registration through the PLABs, to apply directly to an anesthesiology residency (training program) and use this program as my sponsorship to apply to my working visa to move to UK? Sincerely, Müller
Hi, I'm talking specifically about London here. I've heard that as a Junior Doctor, you have to change hospitals every 6 months or so and it can be in different locations. So, for those junior doctors, who have a family, do they change rented houses every year based on the hospitals location or is it possible to stay at the same house throughout your training?
It's the same for all places. Not just London. Rarely do all your rotations or even all your training is done in one hospital. Could be because some departments are not suited for training in one place Vs the other. Or some department doesn't exist in one hospital. In that case you'll have to go to the hospital where that department is. The change could happen after 1 year or 2 years, or rarely never. You'll know about it well in advance. They also rotate you between hospitals and trusts to get a wide working environment experience. You could stay in the same hospital for your training if you undergo CESR route.
@@drAbhinavKr So, if doctors have to change hospitals every year or 2. How do those doctors with a family manage. Do they change their houses every year or 2? Shouldn't this situation make it impossible for them to buy a house?
You'll figure out many strategies when you start working here. For the first 3 years, you'll be struggling to build a credit score decent enough to even get a home loan. By then you'll figure something out. Some people really like change of places after a few years. Not to mention, buying a costlier house as they get more savings. So they tie it up with change in location, etc.
Hi i have a question. If a person who has completed his 12 month fy2 training and then he takes msra exam and fails. Then do they still have an intern job to pay for the expenses or do they become jobless?
Sir tell us more about this one year contract. Can you change/resign from this job before one year ? Is there a contract for FY2 training job also ? Please reply.
They don't have anything to do with one another. Easiest way to get your crest form signed is to actually work. You can keep doing trust grade job for 3-4 years and get crest form signed in the first 4 months or even 4 years later
Hello, I want to start preparing for PLAB but don't know how to go about studying for it, since it's changing to UKMLA beginning of next year. Any advice?
There's going to be absolutely no change in what you're tested on and how you're tested. Just a different name for same exam cuz now even uk graduates will be taking it
Dr Abhinav, I just got into a medical college this year and I wanna move to UK as soon as I complete my internship in December 28-January 29. As I would have no work experience, will it hamper my chances of getting a job straight away in the NHS?
It absolutely doesn't matter. My college was after usmle with multiple seminars by alumni who are now in USA. Yet maximum of 7-8 people out of 250 take the usmle every year per batch. Plab guidance was next to nil at the same time. The reasons you should choose KMC is because nobody has better teaching & administration support than KMC. I've been to many govt colleges in Delhi and Bangalore. The paperwork to deal with and the level of education they offer are nowhere close to how easy manipal makes for its students.
This was pretty insightful! Could you also tell us the schedule of departments other than A&E are in terms of having a "routine ". Also, what would you recommend? taking an A&E Job or the traditional FY2 standalone? I'm planning to pursue Internal medicine
Standalone has more exams and is stricter. Try for both. Standalone vacancies only come out in January for the whole year I think... That too, the post starts from August. If that doesn't suit you or you miss that 15 day window, trust grade will be the only option. A&E is perfect as a first job for all departments.

Do you think medical college matters in plab exam. As they all say KMC MANIPAL/MANGLORE should be preferred if you want to work abroad

Did you need Mrcs part 1 for your first emergency post in the uk ??
Why would a surgery royal College exam be needed for emergency "medicine"?
Is this necessary to get license from medical college to eligible for ukmla.
Is IELTS acceptable in plab exams ?!?
Or we have to give oet ???
Even OET is fine
