    Hi Ibreez and Ibrahim, really glad to be able to reach out to you with confidence that if you see this comment you will take the time to respond.. thank you so much for doing what you do guys!!
    I have a question because I'm really confused right now.
    I have completed internship two and a half years ago in India and hoping to train in surgery in the UK. I have passed PLAB 1 and MRCS part A. And while I know that the plab 2 pathway will make life easier for me to get a job, I wanted to know if I can go via the MRCS route with very little experience after internship. Could you please help?
    Thank you!
    Regards,
    Aathira.

    • @RoadToUK
      @RoadToUK  4 года назад +1

      You can use your MRCS to get GMC registration just the same as you could with PLAB, but if you choose to get it via MRCS, please do not jump into a registrar level post if you have very little experience. You can try and look for junior doctor posts and then enrich your portfolio to look towards applying for surgical training.

      @@RoadToUK Road to UK thank you so much for responding so quickly!!! Absolutely not.. I'm well aware of the responsibilities those posts come with.. And I will get the necessary experience before doing that.
      Can I ask one more thing though?
      When I apply for gmc registration through the mrcs pathway, do I use the same account as the one I used for plab? And do they not ask for experience at all?

    • @RoadToUK
      @RoadToUK  4 года назад +1

      Yes. The same GMC online account applies, but when you go to the option to apply for registration, you need to choose the appropriate pathway for registration application.

    First of, thanks a lot for the great videos.
    You recommend that IMG's first start with a non-training job. However, I want to apply for histopathology, which as far as I know, requires a completion of FY2 training. So do you recommend I do a non-training FY2 post, then a training FY2? If so, how long should I do the non-training FY2, and how long do I need to do the training one to be able to apply for histopathology?
    Thanks a bunch.

    Hi there,
    We currently live in the UK (London) and we moved here 5 years ago.
    My wife worked as a doctor in Brazil and in order to start her career as a doctor here in the UK, she had to pass some exams, which she has successfully done.
    At the moment, she is having enormous difficulty getting an interview and it seems that the main reason for rejection is the fact that she has no previous experience in the NHS.
    I would like to know if you offer any kind of consultancy in this regard?

      It's important to know how to apply for jobs and how to format your applications. Doctors are on a shortage occupancy list in the UK, so there are more than enough jobs, but if you don't apply correctly you won't hear much back. On top of that, the recent pandemic has slowed things down.
