Changed the strap to a metal one, since they updated the software the battery lasts about two days. The only downside I have is if my arm rests on my leg too long it changes the watch faces, but there is probably a setting for that I have not found yet. All in all great watch. Syncs with my phone and buds perfectly, does what it says on the tin..
I bought the Tic Watch Pro 3. Do not buy this watch. It was a piece of junk. I returned it today to amazon, and will be buying a Galaxy 3. I may have to charge it every day, but at least it will work correctly. The most important feature in a smart watch. Is being able to charge the watch without a company only provided charging cable. Do not make this mistake!
I got my galaxy watch active 2 for $120 with a 1 year warranty. Came with 2 cables for charging. First smartwatch I ever owned. And I love this so far! Also, the ECG feature is available on the watch active 2

Great to hear an honest opinion and that "excel" chart wast a nice touch. Thanks for your honest review. I was in the lookout to buy my first smartwatch ever and thanks to your insight, I just got myself the original galaxy watch for just $189 @Walmart. Still a very good watch compare to active 2 and galaxy 3. It clearly blows them out of the water with the bigger battery. Galaxy 3 @ that price should had been easily a 7 to 10 day duration battery, such as shame on Samsung when you clearly see they have the technology to achieve that, just by looking at the 25 day Honor GS Pro.
Definitely an interesting, and as ever honest assessment. I'm glad I personally have the Watch Active2 which like you, in my opinion is definitely the better buy between it and the GW3. You are right though, if the blood pressure and SpO2 functions are present in BOTH watches, WHY don't Samsung enable them internationally, surely it would just require a firmware update?

I’m switching over from a gear sport so the galaxy watch 3 is a huge upgrade, but if I had a active 2 I’d honestly skip over the watch 3 and I am a Samsung guy. Your absolutely right if they pull an Apple and give a tiny upgrade or say it’s a software upgrade this year the device stays on the shelf. Gimmicks. Nice to be have, but not necessary at all. If I had a heart condition, and required bp and ECG monitoring, I wouldn't be relying on a watch to do it.
@@slipswitch I had a few seizures (first ever) last year that caused a bad fall that knocked me out for hours and gave me a nasty concussion. If my watch had fall detection, my wife would have been alerted and I would not have literally lost over 4 hours of my life that I will never remember.

It has the blood oxygen and ecg now in the US. I'm not a fan of the galaxy store but people have ways online to install google assistant, link Google maps, and get alexa on them. I added those and I love the watch now.

Just got a brand new sealed box galaxy watch 46mm lte model for 100$ shipped. If you keep an eye out on ebay you can find deals like this every once in a while (gotta be quick though!). Saw a new active 2 for 100 as well but I wanted the SS body and bigger battery.
1.5 days it not enough? as an owner of an apple watch 3 42mm i will say that is enough, my apple watch series 3 give that maybe 2 days and i know for a fact when is time to sleep 90% of people will take the watch ( talking about a regular normal watch) so if you own an smart watch, will be the same just it will be put to charge dont you? unless you want to use yhe watch to monitor your sleep but that means soon or later you will need to put it to charge so best thinh to do is to get a portable charger (you can get one in amazon like for 15 bucks) that conect to any usb and put it ti charge in youir car or in your office and in 2 hours you will have 1,5 days again so is not a big deal
If you have the other models of Samsung galaxy watches and you biggest complaint Is the battery life then you're using them wrong, you dont need the watch for anything but sleep tracking when you go to bed, simply take off the galaxy watch 3 and put it on the charger and put on one of the other models when you go to bed. Switch them when you get up for the day. It that simple.
I've had my GW3 for about 3 weeks now and had I known then what I know now, I would not have spent all that extra $$. Yes, there are some advantages (the 8GB's of on-board storage vs the 4 Samsung saddled us with in earlier models is the primary advantage off the top of my head) but overall, I have been disappointed. Aside from a few things that don't come with the original Galaxy Watch (the FINALLY approved ECG and blood O2 level monitoring), is the processor more powerful? Nope. In fact, it's the EXACT SAME one as in the GWatch. Yes, there was a minor bump in RAM, but can you tell a difference in how the watch performs over the Gear S3 or the Original GWatch? None whatsoever. Seriously. I can't see any at all. Plus on top of all that, they gave us a smaller battery. I was assured by the Samsung rep online when I ordered mine, that with the software tweaks, the battery life was "on par" with the original GWatch. Well, aside from the fact that the battery life ISN'T on par with the other watch (in my real world experience, it is at least 25% less powerful), I'm not looking for a watch to have specs "on par" with a nearly 3 year old device...I want better. And truth be told, I want it to be significantly better. Imagine if the Note 20 Ultra was only as upgraded from the Note 10 as the GW3 is from the original...do you think it would be worth upgrading for? Hell no. Calling this an upgrade is embarrassing at the very least. I'm a Samsung die hard fan, and it pains me to admit this, but each and EVERY year (not just every few years) apple improves each new model of the apple watch enough that some actually upgrade to every new series. The fact they gave us a truly anemic upgrade, but also added an apple-style price bump was flat-out rude and damn-near evil. This time around, the GW3 price is only BARELY less than the price of the upcoming apple series 6...which, I'll remind you once again, packs a serious and noticeable upgrade all the way around from the series 5, but Samsung I guess has decided that charging as much as their competitors without delivering the goods is now company policy. Long story short, to give us what Samsung has done this time was nothing less than a gigantic "Eff You" to us watch fans. I'm really disappointed to say the least.
I was with you on this comment until you started talking up the improvements of the series 6 Apple Watch over the series 5. I just returned a series 6 Apple Watch because there weren’t enough reasons to upgrade at all actually! What’s new? The chip and blood oxygen levels. Wow. Seriously, those are the obvious changes and I’d say the chip upgrade isn’t obvious at all. Feels the same speed as my series 5. You’re slamming Samsung for making these small iteration changes between watches but Apple does the same thing! Except Apple has the nerve to charge even more for it. I just bought the new Galaxy Watch 3 in 45mm black non cellular and I’m happy. I knew the battery life was less than my original Galaxy Watch and yes that sucks, but I feel I’m getting the best of both the Active 2 and the original Galaxy Watch with the 3. It feels like both of those watches smashed into one. I paid less than Apple wants and got a great looking watch that should be good for a few years to come.
it's an interesting statement. apparently, you should know these facts on day 1 though. I cannot believe that after you use the watch for 3 weeks, you just realize it is not worth it. OK. it's not the reason for you to make causes to blame the product. also, the way you describe apple watch is making great progress is very funny. because they makes zero progress. period.
@@bobdragon7887 I didn't "Just realize" after 3 weeks...however, I gave it plenty of time before making my statement so someone cannot say that I haven't used it long enough to know for sure. I think you believe that I prefer the apple watch over Samsung...I don't. You may not believe each version is better than the last, but that doesn't make it true. Each version of their watch has included a faster chipset and other improvements. They haven't been significant ones I'll admit, but they are definitely bigger improvements than what Samsung gave us between the original Galaxy Watch and the GW3. Having owned the Gear S2, S3, Gear Sport, Galaxy Watch and the GW3, the improvements over each have been incredibly incremental. You would expect the GW3 to be vastly improved over the Gear S2...but it just isn't. Yes, it's better, but not as much as I had hoped, especially for the enormous price bump that came with it. A smaller battery? How is that better? (it isn't. No matter what Samsung says, the GW3 has worse battery life than the previous watch) For me, the best part is the bump in memory, O2, ECG and the newer buttons. Honestly, that is it. Otherwise, it is no better than the last previous 2 versions. Either way, this is MY opinion, yours may vary. Which is fine. Also, I never even hinted that apple makes "great progress" for each new watch, only that they improve each watch more than Samsung did between the original GW and the GW3...which isn't just my opinion, it's a verifiable fact. If Samsung promises what they have with this new watch and it fails in almost every respect to live up to that promise, I have every right (and so should everyone who feels a little betrayed by that lie) to be disappointed. I don't blame the watch, I blame Samsung. Again, disagree all you want...that however doesn't not invalidate a single one of my criticisms.
Is that the LTE or bluetooth? If its LTE then how much longer does the bluetooth last and finally how long does the LTE last when you just have it being used on bluetooth
Very good video to help me decide on buying the Active2, I was thinking of waiting on price dropping on watch 3 but as you mention there is really no difference, very helpful, I m also interested in the Honor Magic watch 2 46mm. What do you recommend? Active 2 or Honor Magic watch 2 46mm?
I upgraded from the gear sport & have found that I'm getting far better battery life with the galaxy watch 3. Installing the blood pressure monitor & ecg from apks I found a link to from another RUclips, I now have the watch utilising all it's functionality & very happy with my purchase. The main thing I noticed is the HR monitor is far more accurate on the newer watch where I was getting false reading on the gear sport. Also have had good results comparing the watch's BP with a machine with an arm cuff.
I purchased a new Galaxy Watch 3 45mm LTE about 2 weeks ago via a Woot.com promotion for about $230 so the price issue was addressed. I agree with your evaluation of the battery life. My response was to spend about $12 to but 2 wireless charge pads which are identical to OEM and station one at my bedside and another by my PC workstation so I can charge anytime I am going to be still for a while. ECG and blood pressure have been enabled in the USA but ONLY for Samsung phones at the present so I am still out in the cold with my LF-G7 thinq. That little fact pisses me off. Samsung shouldn't be acting like Apple.
Great review as always. And you're right. Gs pro is a steal for the money. I have one and my be biased but it really is a great smartwatch. One question. How do you check tide with gs pro? Any idea?
To best justify $150 variance, consumers need to understand Samsung's offering. The 41mm active 2 is $250 USD. It's cased in ALUMINIUM and bluetooth only. Stainless steel casing is $380 USD and only offered with LTE variant. The 41mm watch 3 is $340. It's cased in stainless steel and bluetooth only. The LTE variant is $389 USD. To make this assessment an "apples to apples" case, let's look at only 41mm LTE versions for both. The difference in the 2 offerings is $10. Samsung charges $80 for leather strap, which comes with the Watch 3 and not the active 2. So if you want a leather strap on the active 2, its actually more expensive than the watch 3. Personally I'm hitting my hand on objects and want the durability. The Galaxy watch for me is a real bargain, especially with the battery.
The watch is a jewellery for a man. I don't need watch, have phone, computer, car, clock everywhere, but I want to wear something nice when go out like and Samsung watch hits that for me, the Honor watch like no way, i would not wear them.. thanks for nice comparison and the camera details are spectacular, great review!
Hi, can you please give me your opinion if the Samsung Galaxy Watch active 2 LTE that is on sale on Amazon In Spain for 169€ is a good deal for me to buy the Watch....!!? Love your reviews... Regards.
Ok.. i have a Oneplus 6 smartphone, and if i buy a Watch 3 all the functions of the Watch Will work on my smartphone!?? ECG... Blood pressure... Etc?? Regards
This is one of the best reviews I just have one question Wich is better because I'm confused Galaxy watch 46mm or active 2 44mm my interests are that the watch gets updates for a long time and for it to be durable and 2 days battery and a nice screen
My GW3 45 mm, 65 minutes of running with gps on, continues stored music streaming through earbuds, aod on for 65 minutes and boom........ Battery down from 100 to 61 percentage. Similar activities with honor magic watch 2. Battery lost only 12-13 percentage
Battery life on the ORIGINAL Samsung Watch was AWFUL too... So good to know that Samsung has not fixed the problems from the original. Guess I wont be upgrading...
Love Apple watches but then Samsung gave me the opportunity to buy the Watch 3 at a good price so I bought and since then I have switched from my Apple series 6 to the Samsung Watch 3, it fits my style better.
Too late Mate, i have already bought samsung watch 3 and frankly speaking the only thing i am not satisfied is with the battery life of the watch , i have to charge it every second day
I’ve never made 3 nor 2 days with my active 2, not once, not even with the always on screen switched off and very light use. 1 to 1.5 days if I’m lucky and it dies. the active 2 is the sole and only reason I went full apple after years of being samsung fan boy. That they’re pulling the same “you’ll get more features later” bullshit all over again is just sad.
Much needed honest review.. Did you know certain features only work on Samsung phone and not all.. Complete deal breaker.. Cost, limitations of features.. Battery.. I will take huwai anytime on this..
Its BACK at number 1 on your charts, the ECG and BPM is here, glad to report, Samsung did it, would you mind putting a text saying that, you have 133K views to this video 😉
I have galaxy watch 3 and I have no idea how some of you are getting over 2 days on battery life. Like seriously I'm lucky to get over a day. And I have screen turned color turned down wifi off aod off. I don't get it
Blood Pressure Monitor and ECG....took matters into my own hands there. So am good on that side. Just don't understand their lack of care for those two features, feel more like fraud!
I don't get people who moan about the battery life of a smartwatch. Mine will last an entire day with AOD on. Guess what? I take it off and put it on charge when I go to bed and low and behold it is fully charged when I wake up the following morning! Oh and was the review for GW3 or Honor? Sure you went on about it more than the GW3. 👎
@@ikrutohd735 I own the Gear S3 Frontier and also the Galaxy Watch 46mm. The Gear S3 Frontier which has a similar battery size to the new Galaxy Watch 3. I have traveled with my Gear S3 on a few transatlantic flts where I have then had to connect onto a second internal flt meaning an airport layover. When I am on these routes it can mean being awake for around 36-48 hours I simply switch AOD off and the Gear S3 has always made it through the flts and it still had battery when I eventually arrived at the destination. Worst case scenario is that most modern phones. now have reverse wireless charging so I can always give the watch a charge if i did end up going away somewhere and I have forgotten the watch charger.

Samsung is now the new Apple 😆
it's an interesting statement. apparently, you should know these facts on day 1 though.
We
keep the honest character about your reviews. We deserve the truth as buyers and you know that. Thank you, my friend
Is that the LTE or bluetooth? If its LTE then how much longer does the bluetooth last and finally how long does the LTE last when you just have it being used on bluetooth
I'm agree with you, the battery life of galaxy 3 is a SHAME!!! go for gs pro or huawei gt2 pro
but no app support on gs pro
Thanks for the video.. where can we find the tab of comparison that you showed
The honest review that I needed. Thank you for this!
Absolutely spot on assessment Honor has so much more to offer!
Great review as always. And you're right. Gs pro is a steal for the money. I have one and my be biased but it really is a great smartwatch. One question. How do you check tide with gs pro? Any idea?
Hi chigz great review btw,
Could you tell me which watch face you had on the active 2 thanks
Are the Ecg and blood pressure available yet ? I ordered it but sent it back Unopened. I'm going to keep my samsung galaxy watch.
I bought OG Galaxy watch 2 days back. Going good so far. Better than scratchy Active 2 and Battery drainer GW 3.
Just looked on your chart and the GW3 is now Number 1. What changed? Also can you tell me if ECG and Fall Detection are now available in the UK?
I know I'm late but does anyone know the name of the watch face on the Watch Active 2?
Hi, can you please give me your opinion if the Samsung Galaxy Watch active 2 LTE that is on sale on Amazon In Spain for 169€ is a good deal for me to buy the Watch....!!?
Love your reviews...
Regards.
Yes active 2 is amazing watch, but there is no SP02 so maybe watch 3 is better option.
Ok.. i have a Oneplus 6 smartphone, and if i buy a Watch 3 all the functions of the Watch Will work on my smartphone!?? ECG... Blood pressure... Etc??
Regards
This is one of the best reviews I just have one question Wich is better because I'm confused Galaxy watch 46mm or active 2 44mm my interests are that the watch gets updates for a long time and for it to be durable and 2 days battery and a nice screen
Thanks for review ,,, was going to buy for bicycle touring,, but battery life is deal breaker. Do they operate as stand alone ..
What is the name of the watch face at 0:58? I am trying to look for it. Thanks for the great video!!
Been use galaxy watch 3 for about 1 month.. ecg and BP working well and quite accurate..
Great review Chigz. Honest and too the point. I would take the Honor over the Samsung any day. If you don't want the Honor you can always send to me.
For the battery problem always put it to charge in the night before you sleep
Too late Mate, i have already bought samsung watch 3 and frankly speaking the only thing i am not satisfied is with the battery life of the watch , i have to charge it every second day
Damn.. expensive watch but poor the battery
do you think an update can fix that battery issue i know its worked on android phones in the past?
I got this for 150 on Ebay. The active 2 and original were going for around the same
I’ve never made 3 nor 2 days with my active 2, not once, not even with the always on screen switched off and very light use.
1 to 1.5 days if I’m lucky and it dies.
the active 2 is the sole and only reason I went full apple after years of being samsung fan boy.
That they’re pulling the same “you’ll get more features later” bullshit all over again is just sad.
Could you update us of the latest firmware update has brought any significant boost to battery life of GW3?
I got the galaxy watch 3 for $150. Would that put it in number 1?
Good HONEST review.. nice.
Much needed honest review.. Did you know certain features only work on Samsung phone and not all.. Complete deal breaker.. Cost, limitations of features.. Battery.. I will take huwai anytime on this..
I have the GS Pro - By far the best Smartwatch out there
Bro but you cant even see whatsapp messages or reply to standard texts??
i've knew that honor watch gs pro has an issue about duplicate notification. Is it happenned in your watch?
Is it better to go with honor watch?
Thank you ... You have helped me open my eyes! Thank you again!!!
I don't get it
No one seems to notice the original Samsung 46 looks better than the 3. Look at those silly buttons sticking off the side of the 3 vs the original.
Honor watch doesn't have LTE capabilities and with ATT I got the Galaxy 3 for like $220/watch with 0% financing.
Well done honest review... I haven't made it to 24hrs yet with my Watch 3
Blood Pressure Monitor and ECG....took matters into my own hands there. So am good on that side. Just don't understand their lack of care for those two features, feel more like fraud!
Yeah I had to get the other features another way. They work great. I'm good with my galaxy 3
Which one is better active 2 or gs pro ?
I don't get people who moan about the battery life of a smartwatch. Mine will last an entire day with AOD on. Guess what? I take it off and put it on charge when I go to bed and low and behold it is fully charged when I wake up the following morning!
Oh and was the review for GW3 or Honor? Sure you went on about it more than the GW3. 👎
but what if you go to a friend or so and wear a empty watch if you arent at home for more than 1 1/2 days
no front....but something to think about
@@ikrutohd735 I own the Gear S3 Frontier and also the Galaxy Watch 46mm.
I like Galaxy watch.... But which one is best Galaxy 3 or Galaxy pls guide me
This helps alot. Either going Galaxy watch or Honor watch. I have note 10 plus
Bro why didn't mentioned about smart assistant n route back feature in honor gs pro and many other features are there n why would i install apps on small size watch when we are having 6 inch phones?
What should I buy active 2 or honor watch gs pro both are of same price
I agree the Canadian version doesn't even have the Sp02 enabled.
Thanks for the review.. was looking for one that will replace my Gear S3, looks like it will be the Galaxy Watch one, bigger battery and better looks and €205 (Netherlands)
Thanks for the honest and down to earth review ... i think the watch 3 is overhyped due to ecg and oxygen monitors . Ill definitely check out the honor watch
Honestly I'm perfectly fine with 1.5 days because I always charge all my stuff at night I would never really use sleep tracking
Amazing video as always thank you so much!!!
My pleasure!
Hello, pls HELP,. some people have made reviews that there is a big difference with International Version vs other countries like US version. (Like, you are not able to use features)
With international version galaxy watch, may I use all features in Japan or Philippines?
