I'm surprised to hear him say the active 2 is his favorite, I found the rotating bezel adds an irreplaceable quality of life improvement when it comes to scrolling through menus and making selections.
The active 2 has a touch bezel. Functionally it is the same

I was just wondering would you be able to check if the Watch 3 has any preloaded watch faces that still have active moving seconds hand or digits during always on display? I think the Active 2 and original Watch had this feature where you still have a moving seconds hand during the always on display. Thanks

@@kartiksharma7370 I just bought active two today and there's at least three or four preloaded, super customizable watch faces that have working AOD second hands. They even make lil ticking sounds while the screen is on, it's cool
Oh! Then I think it depends on the watch face. All of the faces I've tried di not show the second hand with AOD

It seems everyone is forgetting that the Active 2 was suppose to have ECG and fall detection. The same as watch 3. Now they act like these are new features, but were promised b4 and they haven’t delivered yet. No way would I buy another Samsung watch with promised features until they are present and working
Great comparison!! I bought the Active 2 40MM Stainless Steel (Silver) LTE and pimped it out with a stainless steel wristband and a stainless steel bezelring from Ringke so it's looking pretty sleek, also the bezelring adds some extra protection to it. Works on all occasions!
I guess I will be keeping my Active 2 for a while seeing as not much has improved over the years in the smartwatch department!
You can stick a bezel ring on an Active 2? I didn't know that; I thought the bezel on the Active 2 is virtual haptic...

Thanks so much. Best review I have seen so subscribed to your channel. The FDA in the US just approved the ECG/Atrial Fib monitoring and should be updating both the Active 2 and Watch 3. The BP feature was approved ionly in South Korea and will likely just come to the Watch 3. In your battery comparison please mention the original watch screen is not always on.
Ronald Brown that makes zero logical sense. Active 2 was promised with these features first so by rights should get update/approvals first..
You can still add them by rooting into developer mode and add their apks and whatever geek stuff. The hard part is to look for the guy who knows how to do it
I understand that the Watch 3 also includes access to Galileo satellites. Does that provide better precision with GNSS positioning and tracking?

It looks nice and like a fancy watch but also looks sport at the same time. It covers all my needs at a lower price than the other two. Again thanks for the video. Great job.

I had the galaxy watch 3 in my online best buy cart, watched your video, cleared the cart, went to best buy and bought the original galaxy watch. The bezel was a must, so it was between 1 & 3 for me. After watching your video, I realized that they are almost identical! The 1 is even bigger with a longer battery life?? How did they down grade?? Thank you!!
The screen on the 1 is actually smaller and keep in mind the 2 has a bezel on the touch screen, it's just not a physical bevel. He seemed to imply it wasn't there, but I think he meant it isn't there physically.

great comparison video. I appreciate your comments regarding the availability of the health monitoring features for Galaxy Watch 3. Here it is April 8th, 2021 and I would think that the ECG and Blood Pressure monitoring would have been added by now. I have the Active 2 and love it. It DOES have a rotating virtual bezel with click feedback.

@@parthoomphy7214 battery is good, for daily use you can get 2 or maybe 3 days of battery but in my case i added the watch active 2 to my watch collection so i use it 1 or 2 times a week and the other days is in my watch box turned off and i get weeks of battery life it will depend on the use you gave it

And what I love about it is that it has wireless charging function as well. So I normally just keep my Samsung Wireless charger next to my bed and charge majority of my device's off of that.

Piss poor differences between the Active Watch 2 and the Galaxy Watch 3. Samsung wants to be another Apple but there is such a small difference between both. We aren't iSheep!

I've found the GW3's LTE wasn't that bad. But everyone has their own preference.

I have the active 2. 44mm LTE, S/Steel in the UK🇬🇧, love how you can dress it up from sporty to formal, very light and not intrusive on the wrist, great video by the way 👍
Plus if you're interested in the sleep tracking functions it is a damn sight more comfortable to wear at night.

I just came across your channel. I like the video. Curious I just bought a Galaxy Watch and I love it but I am looking for a watch face with these features: Step Counter, Battery, Time, Date, Forecast (Current and maybe 1 or 2 days), and Heart rate. I cannot find one that has all this (and very little else, so not to crowd the screen). And of course I want it to look cool. Do you know of a good watch face with all of these?

I have the Galaxy Active 2 and am using the Baloozi watchface which I absolutely love! Being a senior citizen and having some issues with my thumb, index finger on the right hand, I replaced the watchband with a metal expandable, it's AWESOME! It holds on my wrist tightly but not to tight. Before this I owned the original Galaxy Watch, 46mm. On that watch, the rotatable bezel JAMMED, I couldn't move it! The Active 2 does have a touch bezel however. So I got the Active 2 without it and prefer this. The Active 2 is capable of performing an ECG as well as showing heart rate and such. That's real important for me since I narrowly avoided a SERIOUS heart issue and had open heart surgery. The Active 2 was what alerted me in enough time to get the problem taken care of. One thing I have noticed however is that the original Galaxy watch ran 3-days before needing charging, wheras the Active 2 barely gets 2. Quite a difference! My Active 2 was recently upgraded to Tizen 5.0 but I have noticed a noticeable drop in charge longevity however. I do like this Galaxy Active 2 better because it doesn't have the jamming rotatable bezel but the virtual one and I can do an ECG on my heart. Also, the NFC range is better, with the original Galaxy watch it was sometimes difficult to get Samsung Pay to activate on many paypoints, not with the Active 2.

Very good comparison thanks I really wanted to know if the GW charger would work with the active 2 as got this watch coming tomorrow and you answered my question as could not find out on the web I already have the GW and was going to get the G3 till I saw the specs and that it had smaller battery and the gorilla glass is only DX on the G3 and it's GX+ on the other watches and the Active 2 is nearly half the price .Also like you can't stand the buttons on the G3 and that bump in the middle yuck
I am a senior now and the most important things to me on the watch are the Sleep app, and the health and heart rate apps. I do love all the fancy fun stuff too, but my sleep and heart monitor is the most important. What are maybe 3 top picks I should look into.? Thank you.

Galaxy watch 3 for going out/special occasions.
Honestly I'll keep using them until they are no longer compatible with future devices.

@@rolins3279 yes battery consumption varies with each model, that and the amount of features you have enabled on the watch. ....Brightness, AOD, sound and vibration level, wifi, even the watch faces all play a factor in battery consumption, I've never had an issue with my phone battery because I have battery optimisation enabled, like any electronic device the amount of use will drain any phone or watch battery. With that said I get a full day of use with the watch and my phone needs a charge depending on my use. Bluetooth 4.2 and 5.0 really only affects the range of signal from the phone.

I used to have the original active I scratched it so bad but then I upgraded to the Galaxy watch and I'm loving it!
Will all of the features work if you have a non-samsung phone? I have a moto G6. I see conflicting info about this.
After much consideration my dad chose the original Samsung Galaxy watch in silver (46mm) and I chose the original in rose gold (42mm). No regrets whatsoever, glad we didn't go for the newer version especially after watching comparisons like this one!

Get the original Galaxy watch at that price. It's been great for me.
I love mine too as well, performance wise, but the weight of it, it's something I never managed to get used to, coming from using Fitbit Ionic for a few years. This 3rd rendition actually did well with the weight, I think it's almost half the weight of the original, and you can tell. Looking forward for it to come down in price, so I can grab one.
I have the original galaxy watch and have no complaints, battery is phenomenal. Was looking to see which one to get for my wife, and I'm thinking the smaller version of the galaxy watch is probably still the best way to go, so she can have the rotating bezel and longer battery. Battery life is one of the top priorities in a smart watch, and at those costs it just makes even more sense. I'm very disappointed in the bands on the two new watches. You have to replace the genuine leather band day 1 with the new watch 3, I can promise you that leather is going to peel and deface itself in just a couple days. The silicone band the Galaxy watch comes with is top tier, and I like to way it flares out to smoothen the look as it meets the watch.
I'm also concerned about the glass scratching on the Watch 2. The rotating bezels do more than just provide a useful way to navigate - they are actually slightly higher than the watch glass, which protects the watch glass from getting hit or scratched from most impacts. I worry the watch 2 screen won't fare so well without this protection
I've been using the 42mm since the 46mm is too massive for my wrist. I find the screen just too small though on the 42.

I have the Galaxy Watch and the Active 2 and I guess I'll wait on the Watch 3. The high price and 1.5 days of battery life kind of ruin it for me even though I do like the design.
I feel the original Galaxy Watch looks the best. I waited till Samsung announced Galaxy Watch 3 and bought the Galaxy Watch LTE as the price has dropped to such a great bargain. Couldn't be happier.

I got the samsung WATCH from a warranty "traded from watch S2 classic" and I got a free Active 2 classic today! I think the active 2 is really nice and great visual!

Original GearS3,Galaxy watch,&Active 2 are all nice. the new Galaxy watch3 is a little different but still looks good and would be a great to add to the collection. I have the first three mentioned and still thinking about getting the new one.

Price is the most important thing for me right now. If I had more money to spend I would go with Watch 3 but its battery is trash. I subbed.
I've watched all the comparisons from the GW vs GW3 and the active 2 and I went to the Samsung website in Canada and they have the GW IN $280 CAN and the GW3 $600 + a Wireless Charger Duo Pad (which worth $130 CAN) and the active 2 in $310 Can.
I like the design of the GW3 better since I come from a fossil g4 but I am not sure if I'm willing to pay that much, I am very interested in the durability of the GW battery, and the new figures that the active 2 brings but for the most part the active 2 looks very simple and easier to break than the GW.
My question is, should I buy the GW or active 2 and save 300 Can dollars or should I buy the latest version plus the charger as a gift?

Depends if you workout or want a light weight watch get the Active 2 but make sure you buy a protective case from Amazon
If you just need a smart watch that looks formal for daily functions without it being super light weight get the Galaxy Watch which is what I highly recommend
