I love my series 6. Have had it for several years and it's still going strong.
Beside all the cool integrations with the iPhone, I love how well it integrates with the Mac. You can unlock it and bypass lots of password prompts if you have the watch on your wrist. Highly recommended.
You can add some location based shorts on your phone that will start a certain workout when you enter the gym, leave the house for a walk or pass a certain point while riding your bike to work. I use the same to stop workout. Most of the time we do the same things over and over again, just automate it 🙌🏻

I look at my phone less and I'm able to stay focused on tasks. Also a nice way to encourage me to be active even more ❤

Notifications are the main reason I want/need to get a new watch. Knowing I will, guaranteed, see the notification makes it very easy to leave the phone in a bag or in another room. Sure, I might glance at the watch all the time to make sure I haven't missed anything, but it is still better then constantly grabbing my phone .
Exactly why I love my galaxy watch. Automatic workout detection is a lifesaver. And competing with my brother who lives a thousand miles away is awesome.
How is the galaxy watch? I'm a Samsung user and was thinking of getting a smart watch for the longest time but like MWTB here, I always thought, "Nah." The apple watch sounds amazing but I have a Samsung. So how the Samsung watch compare to the apple watch?
one thing: GW bad HR sensor that will bonkers all of your fitness data
@@Psydankit's great
@Psydank Honestly, it has been pretty good. Feature parity is full on the newer models, body composition can help a bit and it supports a surprisingly large array of workouts.
Notification filtering wasn't reliable in the past but with and update it got fixed.
I have used the original galaxy watch, watch4 classis, watch 6
It's good. @@Psydank
I use it mostly fitness related but other features are good as well.
Cons would be bad HR, it's not bad for get an idea but counting complex things like VO2 Max etc is not accurate. So if you can ignore that. I would say most people don't even know things like VO2 Max.
Anyway good watch, get the classic one if you can becuz you'll love the bezel. Idk what else, ask me if you have any questions.

An excellent functionality is that if you take your Watch along let's say gym where it connect to the wifi meanwhile your phone is at home, you can still makes calls or message from your Watch while in term routes the call from the phone via the internet which can be really helpful. (Yes I'm talking about GPS only versions as well).
In terms of #3 Build you should check out the Stainless Steel version of the Apple Watch. I frequently get given compliments and questions about my watch because it is so shiny. Especially if I use the silver Milanese Loop 😊😊
The workout modes are Automatic on Galaxy Watch.
I had the same issue with my Mi Fit Bands, when I switched to Galaxy I was delighted to see the watch monitors your movements as normal but if it detects heightened strain for more than a few minutes it switches to a workout and logs everything you did so far while it's at it.
It's super nice
I love that especially for walks and hikes, if you look into the exercise options it's crazy detailed like curls it can track your reps
@@mikehurt3290 it's crazy good, nothing against the apple watch at all, it's also very good but the Galaxy watch is just a step ahead in my opinion
Mi Bands Detect Workout Activity Too
@thenightmare6032 the newest one maybe, I had a 4, 5 & 6, they didn't and if they where meant to it didn't work
The Apple Watch does it too, it always asks me if I want to record my cycling when I’m riding my electric scooter lol.
I do a lot of driving for work, being able to see important notifications by just glancing at my wrist that's already in front of me on the steering wheel is perfect. I'm a Pixel Watch 2 user.
Your editing shows when you do these outside videos with lower production level. Still look great!
Love that the lumos shortcut works on the watch. And the fact that you can now reverse the crown if you accidentally hit it due to your wrist structure.

You can all the stuff like message, take calls autonom with the cellular model (might cost extra for the eSIM depending on your provider). The battery of the ultra / ultra 2 lasts (for me, wearing it also at night to sleep track) about 3 days if you won't have to charge every day.
The way the Apple Watch seamlessly integrates into daily life is truly impressive. I might just have to give smartwatches a chance now!

Nah. Something that you have to charge daily is not a smart watch. If Garmin can make their watches last almost a month on one charge, I don't see why Apple can't.
I just got one for Christmas, wear it every day.

i love my garmin watch. although a long time iphone user, i went with garmin instead of apple watch for the fitness features and battery life. i also dont want any notifications on my wrist. no regrets
I went budget and got the AmazFit Bip 5 last December for sixty-five US dollars. It obviously lacks many of the features of an Apple or Galaxy watch, but does have all the health, workout and sleep tracking features, plus GPS and Alexa. Also, a full charge lasts a few weeks even with all the tracking features enabled. Well worth the money.
1:41 SUCH a missed opportunity to say “game changer”. 🤦🏽♂️
IK THATS WHAT I WAS THINKING 😭
Fall detection is a big motivator for those of us who are in our senior years. I bought one for my husband after he agreed to wearing it and we both feel much safer when I’m not home. Many of my older friends who have lost their spouse wear them because they live alone and are afraid of falling. I recommend them as gifts for your elderly parents.
The light is actually so good! It is natural and the green of the nature in the background is marvellous!
At 14:36 you explain how it is really not a device itself, but that’s really not the case. I have a cellular Apple Watch connected with a eSIM from ATT which I use as my calling and messaging device without a phone.
Really insightful on how a piece of tech can seamlessly integrate into life and motivate healthy behaviors. Maybe it's time to give smartwatches a chance! Your point on ecosystem lock is absolutely valid and a significant factor to consider before diving into the smartwatch world.
Change your mindset and you can do without it, this is useless sh*t
I really like the Galaxy Watch specifically because of the customization off the bat without downloading a watch face. you can customize the background by adding pictures and GIFs, the way the time is actually displayed, and the peripherals that it shows at any given time, so timers, calories burned, emails, etc.. can be displayed in the 4 "corners" of the watch for example. You can also get images from texts and watch videos on the watch itself which is also very nice bonus.
also when i finally broke down and got a smart watch i actually found I'd been spending way more time not looking at screens. I can now quickly check messages and emails without having to open my phone and get distracted with something else trying to grab my attention. I look at a message respond and move on with my day
It's not at all surprising to me that an Android watch would have better customisation than an Apple watch.
It's not at all surprising to me that an Android watch would have better customisation than an Apple watch.
You can even watch RUclips with the internet bowser which the Apple watch can do neither
But cannot play music using the Apple watch!!
Which you can on a Galaxy watch!! 😁
I think you should try the Galaxy Watch Classic too - just to be fair!!
I just got an Apple watch SE (1st Gen) off the used market. I love your videos and am a huge fan! This video inspired me to set up my watch to be less distracting.
i love mine!! i didnt know i would like it so much but it looks good and has some reallyyy useful features. also gets me up cuz my phone alarm in the morning isnt as effective LOL
another amazing feature you didn't mention is Remote Camera--being able to take a photo or video on your phone from a distance and have a viewfinder is incredible. I mainly use it when taking a night sky photo--I set Night Mode to 30 seconds, lie my phone on the ground, and take the photo using my watch.
yea i use my S Pen for this
Agreed, I use it every time!
The bits with Dhrisa were hilarious 😂
Never thought I'd be a smartwatch fan, but this video completely changed my perspective.BTW, that Ace Pro caught my eye during the end-roll integration - any chance we could see a detailed review soon?

I have a Garmin foreunner 955 which is much more of a fitness watch but it has insane mapping that works without internet and the watch is overall very independent from my phone (you only loose out on things such as notifications when out of range as it can do many of the key features on device)
I never even considered getting one, but a Galaxy Watch 6 came "free" with my S23 Ultra and i must say it is quite the nifty piece of tech.

I bought a Series 9 immediately after watching this video and have been super satisfied in the week following. I haven't used a smart watch since the Series 1 Apple Watch. On that note, am I the only one who has zero issues with the gestures working? It's been smooth and helpful since I unboxed it

I've been using the Galaxy Watch 4 classic for about a year, and it changed my life. ❤⌚️
That rotating ring is really nice isnt it👌
I got frustrated with mine.
- had to reset it and start from scratch to be able to connect it to the phone after not using it for a while. (I broke my wrist)
- battery life is short.
- notifications arrived on it very late, defeating the point of it.
- after a few days it suddenly disconnects again, and having tried everything, I realise I probably have to reset it again.
- I go online and see that since January 2024 a lot of people are having connection problems.
- I've turned it off, and I've put it in a drawer.
- I've since bought a simple Xiaomi Redmi 4 watch, which for me personally does enough of what I need in a smart watch, and it has a great battery life to boot.
@@vince7245I just bought a regular watch 4 and I haven't had any issues since. I actually get the notification earlier than my phone does.
Same, but for me I don’t like it anymore. The ring is really cool and it has many great features but I don’t use any of them, so it doesn’t make sense for me. I will use it to listen to music when at the gym, so that would be great.
@@vince7245That sucks. Although i can only agree on the battery life in my personal experience.
Mine also stopped working completely once, but the warranty handled that.
That looking to your watch to check notifications during a conversation really had the people talking thought I am in a rush or am impatient and looking at the time.
Arun, the video is great and you really touch on the most important positives of the smart watch experience, but something has been buggin me ever since you started wearing the apple watch is... It is supposed to sit right behind the wrist bones if you want to measure HR accurately(as much as the watch can at least) :D
Anyway, besides my little OCD rant, good job and keep up the good work! Nowadays anything that pushes us even a little to be a bit more active is an achievement, I know wearing a smart watch helped me immensely since I started my fitness journey!
Just got a smart watch recently, getting the galaxy watch 6 classic and I can highly recommend a smart watch. So great for keeping you off your phone and keeping you accountable. One of the other perks is using a calendar system that alerts you when you have tasks and events its been great!
Most of the Samsung watches have cellular antenna, some can even function without a phone at all
I wasn't much of a watch person either but as a mechanic who often finds his hands covered in oil and such, I decided to get a watch just for reading notifications and to control my music without having to reach into pocket all the time.
Got a xiaomi watch in '22 for $80aud and it's still going strong. Replaced the bands twice and the screen is scratched up a fair bit but still very usable. Being a mechanic, they will get beaten up A LOT! I disabled a lot of the stuff I don't use and set a slideshow background with my important pics. I'm glad I bought it.
I wear it every day and Charge it once a month and it's never lagged or frozen on me to my surprise.
I just got my smart watch in December. I agree with you about being life-changing. My husband and I both have them watches now and we make sure to walk together. And stand. Now that I am recovering from Covid, I wish I would stop getting those notifications to do Fitness.
I like that my watch looks like a smart watch. I paid almost $400 for it and I want it to look like a smart watch. I got a very nice band for, but it didn’t look like a Apple watch anymore, I took it off .
I really like the screen protector that I got and it stayed on for. I think it’s been several months. No problem.
You can blank notifications by tapping the watch face with the palm of your other hand. I found this helped get me out of the habit of reading watch notifications in the midst of conversations xD
1:37 the gta sketch of the watch on the top right was amazing design
Love my Galaxy Watch 4. I never use the keyboard tho, I use the voice recorder. The gestures to answer the phone/hang up/ignore are awesome.
Yeah, do tell how often it hangs itself xD been using that garbage within Samsung "ecosystem" never again.
Can you use the watch to receive calls without WIFI or Bluetooth connectionto your Samsung device?
@@irokpe6977Yes, you just need to get the LTE version.😊
This guys uploaded the video on the same day when i was thinking of buying one and know i am more into it.
As always, you make some great points. I only really want the exercise features, but I didn't think you'd still need your phone on you to stream music to your headphones while exercising so I'm not sure it's doing enough for me. If I connect to my gym's wifi, can I then stream music directly from my watch?
9:43 "Wedding music"🎉🎉
I got the "free watch" deal with my S23 Ultra just to take the sting out of the already hefty price but I have to confess I actually really love having it now for a lot of the reasons mentioned in this video 😅
I've got a Pixel Watch 2 and I love it! Having a smartwatch is now vital for me. I don't think I can live without one.
It's changing for sure. I love my Pixel Watch 2 and Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic.
Choose the notifications to receive, respond to messages using Siri or quick response, easier to access In an emergency (including in the bathroom), more convenience for listening to music, books or podcasts on the go. This is all without even considering fitness. I don't currently use the fitness features due to health issues but the watch is one of those things you think you don't want until you use it.
5:27 “I think other companies like Samsung and huawei have actually made something more aesthetically pleasing” I 100% agree. One of the things that was gonna get me to switch to Samsung from iPhone was the galaxy watch just because I think that it looks so much better and more so like an an actual watch. The apple watch sometimes honestly looks like a toy.
Use both of them, I can guarantee you that you will change your mind.
the wedding music. SWEET❤
Great coverage. Using modern sheets need exploration and an open mind too get the most from.
The Apple watch was very helpful for me in reversing diabetes.
Sorry from that i love the voice input (to dos, timers...), listening to audible books, podcssts, music.
Notification reduction and only what you want is great. I mostly used my Apple watch with my android phone for a few years. However, I've just switched from Android to iOS for my main phone and love the focus modes that I can bring my watch into.
When i need a phone that will last me ten days without charging I use my Amazfit watch.

Hey arun!
Just a small correction the samsung watch image
You have shown in the video is actually a "Samsung galaxy watch active 2" which is in deed compatible with iphones when you download samsung wearable app from the appstore. Its from the samsung watch 4 with wear Os when samsung watches stopped working with iphones. Anyway it was a great video😊😊
I have been loving my Galaxy Watch 6 Classic since I got it in late summer last year. It works super well with my phone, and I love all the cool stuff it does.
does it work with iphone ?
@velialpyavuz3411 Sadly, it doesn't it can do more than the apple watch its possible to watch youtube on it
Me too! I got my Galaxy Watch 6 Classic (47 mm) for Christmas. Loving it with my Galaxy phone as well!
It is so true when you said that you went from never wanting a smartwatch, to never not wanting it on you. When got my first Iphone, I told myself that I didn't need an apple watch because it was "pointless" and why even get one when I have everything and more on my phone. Well when the Apple Watch SE was released, I impulse bought it just to see if I would like it. Almost instantly I didn't want to go anywherer without my watch because it was such a reliable product when it came to notifications. Whenever I am in situations where I can't pull my phone out and get on it, the watch is very useful because I can quickly glanse at it, and decide whether or not it is important enough to actually get on my phone to respond. The Apple Watch is a really good purchase that I totally recommend, because it saves you a lot of the struggle of having to pull your phone out.
How in the world did you get that scratch?! I'm a project manager in construction, and even though I don't swing a hammer, I still help my guys unload material (such as tile, lumber, rebar, and others) and my series 7 has handled a LOT without any damage! Anyways, great video!
10:31 “and a sub to the channel would be… timely”
I love these videos from you because there is ALWAYS some great research behind them.
i was looking at smart watches today. i lost my old one and i was debating between the apple watch 9 and the fitbit sense 2. ended up going for the sense 2 since i prefer batteries for more than one day to track my sleep over all the extras with apple.
i definitely recommend a fit bit tho
This is an amazing review. Loved it❤
I was the exact same way about smart watches in the beginning. I was gifted the Series 9 for XMas and my opinion on them changed for the better! I now constantly check my activity rings, sleep data, use it as an alarm, quickly see notifications, and more! I always thought it was a waste of money but it really is integrated into your life
Just buy a Garmin. They last like a week on a full charge. I bought mine refurbished for $250 and it was the best purchase I've ever made.
Personally I am a sportswatch (Garmin, Polar...) guy but the app side sucks though... even for Garmin that is superior to other sportswatches.
Feel the same way but got the ultra and love it. Track sleep don’t have to charge as much
Hold up... that Insta360 looks sick! 8K in an action cam is wild.
Can we get a full review or nah? 🙏
At € 432 a pop with the discount, that's one baller action cam
Thogh if you're making six figures from youtube, maybe you could look into getting one
I’ve noticed the watch on your wrist for the past few videos and was looking forward to this A LOT.
I ended up with the Withings Scanwatch 2, for me it's perfect. I disabled all notifications except for calls. And it allows me to track my workouts, sleep, steps, heart rate, oxygen levels, and changes in body temperature. But the idea of a fitness challenge sounds like a great idea to keep your friend group healthy.
I prefer the analog design, with a small display for the "smart" features.
I have it too! Happy someone here uses it.
Me 3. Scanwatch 1. Beautiful watch all week battery.
Congratulations on 18M 🙌🙌🍾
This vid was the reason i bought a galaxy watch6 classic. Love the fact that i actually get less screen especially when studying, no distraction when i need to use my smartwatch.

My Pebble 301RD set a high benchmark for me. The functionalities, the display and the battery life. I want that back (:
Could you please do a video on event technology and examples of how the industry is changing or what's the worst to best
Good video. A couple of things:
1. If you get the stainless steel watch, it comes a graphite crystal glass that doesn't scratch. After having an aluminum watch that got scratched too often and too easily, I gave that a try, and not a single scratch in 2 years. I'm using a series 7 that is in perfect condition (except for battery degradation).
2. Much of the notification settings you mentioned has been available for a long time, and is why I actually use the watch. It means I don't have to look at my phone anywhere near as often as I used to, and once I dismiss the notification on my watch, it is dismissed on my phone too.
What's the battery health?
