Christine, I believe there's a reason your subscribers skyrocketed in the months leading up to this pandemic. You are helping so many people right now through your channel. Hope you and your family are staying safe. 💓
This channel is like a guilty pleasure for me. Not my lifestyle, since we're a family of three.... but I love your real-life adventures and how your husband gushes all over your cooking.
Same! I’m a dog mom of two (my pups say hello) and I’m not even in the US so these grocery haul techniques aren’t applicable to me - but I am obsessed with all her videos 😂
I'm a college student and I can't imagine have 4 kids but I find her so enjoyable to watch and I hope I can be frugal and a good cook when I have my own family!
Tip: dont use up everything in your freezers, just the oldest/most freezerburned stuff. Shuffle your pantry/freezer but dont deplete all your stock. And if things fit, you could move stuff from freezer to freezer to save electricity and to defrost a freezer.
You should move the stuff left in the freezer to your other freezers and defrost the big one and really scrub it down and then you can refill it again.
Probably the best plan is eat up the „old“ food in the freezer and move everything else in the other freezer and defrost it... because all the ice isn’t good for the energy sufficiency ☺️
You kind of can eat roast everyday. Slice thin for fajitas or stir fry, cube for meat and potatoes, I forget the recipe (my parents used to just say a little of this a little of that but it was always the same 🤷♀️) but they’d do it two different ways 1) red sauce 2)brown sauce you just cube potatoes and roast and cook in a cast iron skillet make a roux/gravy or add tomato sauce. (that’s as far as I can remember). You could try keeping it half frozen and slice/shave it with the mandolin and make french dips, make a breakfast steak with it. Really it’s a versatile piece of meat. 😃
E B if she would slice it thin and chop it up a bit and make an omelette with it adding onions and jalapeños it’s so good. Of course with cheese better 😋 I did with shaved rib eye
"Dave says I'm not thinking clearly..." Story of my life🙃 I now say 'micro-wah-vay' and giggle a little every time!🤣You just don't know how what you say will impact people❤
instead of shredding cheese by hand I stick the bricks in the freezer just long enough to firm up, chop into chunks and thrown in my blender and It turns into little crumbles that melts the same as shredded cheese. It's so much easier in my opinion to do it this way
I bought a salad shooter at a garage sale and use that to shred cheese. I do it all at once and store the shredded cheese in the fridge to use as necessary.
Yes, please continue the freezer meals, and showing us the freezer clean progress. We need that inspiration to do the same. For me, the freezer becomes a black hole. I love your ideas for meal planning.
all of the cleanout meals look incredible. There was a pretty good variety. I too would move that stuff to another freezer and defrost that one and get the blueberries out! hahahha!
Teri Groce -but the blueberries are a piece of this channel’s CULTURE now! When they leave, it’ll be like we lost a friend! (Okay, that may be a minor exaggeration.) ;)
Goodness...I wouldn’t have a problem eating roast for days. I’d eat pot roast, beef stew, beef and noodles, vegetable soup, beef fajitas, beef stroganoff, beef n cheddar...endless possibilities! I’d love to have that many roasts. There’s not a single one in my freezer.
I would condense to fewer freezers so that you can clean out the box one. ALso with the food condensed you will have a better idea what you have to use because it will be all together.
What I love about freezer paper is that if you keep a clean chest freezer, the paper does wonders. I have beef and lamb that's two or three years old and you would never know the difference - zero freezer burn or 'off' taste. We didn't go through all our roasts for a couple of years so I've been making a concerted effort to do them more in the winter & leave the ground meat for the summer grilling when I'm trying to "clean out" the freezer for the next year's animals and summer produce. With COVID19 out there & so many meat processing plants shutting down, I'm really happy to have such a nice supply of animal protein.
So I enjoy your personality SO MUCH! Therefore, I am watching videos again and from a year ago. I need my daily fix of Christine and fabulous family! 🌻🌷🌻
I use olive oil, red wine or apple cider vinegar, soy or worcetershire sauce, beef base, minced garlic, diced onions, paprika, salt and dried thyme for my marinade... I put my steaks and the marinade in a large baggie. If I'm doing it in advance, I put in the fridge overnight, if they are thawed, I put them in the bag for about 30 minutes, I have also used this method for frozen steaks and placed in a large bowl of hot water... moving the around and replacing the hot water. Every method is tried and tested from my very picky family. After the marinade process, I do lay the steaks on paper towels and remove most of the marinade before grilling on my cast iron on the stove top. We love having leftover over rice and a beef sauce the next day.
I have an idea for some of that steak! I use meat scissors to cut steaks into steak tips and throw them in the crockpot with cream of mushroom soup for 4-6 hours. I just made this yesterday and it was DIVINE. I had mac n cheese on the side, but you could totally serve it over rice. Loving these freezer cleanout videos!!😆
Keep doing the freezer clean outs!!! They are so much fun!! I love seeing your creativity it’s massively helped me with cooking and cleaning out my pantry and fridge/freezer!!
I truly enjoy your videos so much Christine 🥺 you are the laughter and brightness to this dark time we’re all experiencing ❤️ God bless you and your family and have a great rest of the week!🙏🏽❤️
Adagio Borntrager Well, it’s both strip steak and tenderloin IN ONE! Two of the most expensive cuts there is. Just sayin. I wouldn’t turn it down. Not so frugal though. lol
Adagio Borntrager I hear what you’re trying to say. And I completely agree that expensive DEFINITELY doesn’t have to mean yummy. It’s just that I love those cuts of meat. 😂 But they are too expensive as a T-bone imho. But one day I’d love to try one. So yeah, let’s grab some tacos instead. 😋🥰
Thanks for sharing your freezer cooking videos! They are encouraging, especially during these times! I also pray your sister and the kids are doing well. Have a great weekend!
Your kids are so lovely about your food, they try everything on their plate and are so fabulous at complementing your cooking it is a true joy to see. I know of a number of children that are so fussy and won’t try anything that their parents tear their hair out regularly trying to feed them properly. I feel for them as it must be heartbreaking to have spent time cooking and for your food to not be appreciated. Your family is such a joy! 😁
This was awesome to watch. On a serious note the way your husband and you interact is seriously so sweet. You can almost see the love he has for you through the camera 😭 so sweet.
❤Love watching your videos! Always waiting for your next videos! Learning a lot from your recipes! Thank you for sharing glimpse of your life to us & for keeping us entertained!👍🤗 stay safe, healthy, & well👍
It's so nice to see how your family enjoys your cooking!! I'm looking forward to see the blueberries!😂 Thanks for this video. Gave me some good cooking ideas!!! Get healty!!!👍
Do you have lots of dry goods? Like beans and rice? Might be interesting to see some recipes of some shelf stable items. That’s the type of stuff I’m getting down to.
I swear I'm never bored when it comes to your channel! I love the recipes you make and absolutely love your attitude/enthusiasm in general! Much love from the PNW 😁
Love these videos as inspo! We’re in Idaho too! I’ve been working through my freezers and pantrys for a few weeks now and your videos are keeping me inspired!
My freezer has so much unknown. I'm so glad to know yours has some too. I am procrastinating digging into my big freezer, but you are encouraging me to get it done.
I have seen lots of frugal videoes but none as entertaining as your. I think you are a natural in front of a camera.i love you and when you include your family.... I'm from India btw, i still watch you although I don't eat any of your recipes more so because we don't get the same ingredients as USA.
You can cut up your chuck roasts into cubes and make stew, you can also brown and braise the cut up roast in beef broth/stock till tender add a slurry of either flour or cornstarch to thicken and serve over rice, noodles or mashed potatoes. Beef Stroganoff is another dish you can make out of chuck roast. You could also slow cook the roast in bbq sauce, shred it and make bbq beef sandwiches.
No bake cheesecake....premodern graham cracker pie crust block of cream cheese 1/3 cup sugar tsp vanilla container of cool whip. Mix sugar cream cheese vanilla until smooth add container of cool whip dump into pre made pie crust. If you want Oreo just crush up Oreos in the cheese sugar cool whip mixture and use an Oreo pie crust.
My housemates are gone for two weeks so I have cleaned the fridge already (expect for eggs, ham, drinking things and seasonings). I'm slowly doing the same with the freezer, which my coworkers are loving because I'm bringing food to work.
I'd suggest using the time to condense and organize ALL the freezers. Save one for packages that have not been opened, keep the partial packages in another and make a final push to use up the partial packages.
I like to do an inventory of my freezers and I try to rotate through my types of meats/meal ideas. All of those ideas looked super yummy. I'd love to try the shredded beef tacos. They look delicious. Thanks for keeping up the videos while we are stuck at home
A tip for freezing chili! Make it but don't add the broth or water. I freeze the meat, beans, tomatoes and seasonings together, then add the broth from the pantry when I am ready to heat it. Work very well and saves space.
Thank you for the recipe ideas! I'm going to do the cheesecake Saturday and the Chuck roast idea is great! I love the idea of you clearing out your freezer. It would be kind of fun to see what you come up with. Maybe not roast every day, but some different ideas on how to make roast.
I get this vibe that Dave wants you to leave him alone so he can just eat😂 He’s not in to the play-by-play. Your little guy who likes everything is having fun though!
We have a lot of roasts too. I just made beef and broccoli (minus the broccoli because I didn’t have any). I cut the roast in strips, browned each side for a minute and then put it in my slow cooker for 6-7 hours with a cup of beef neither, some sesame oil, coconut aminos and 3 garlic cloves. Served over rice and stir fry veggie. It was very good!
Everything looks delicious! I love Montreal steak seasoning and the chicken seasoning! I put olive oil and Montreal Steak seasoning on fresh veggies in my chicken roaster pan and bake it in the oven! So good and super easy. I usually use asparagus, mushrooms, zucchini, green beans, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower and a few hand fulls, yes hand fulls of peeled garlic cloves! It is so good! I hope you feel better soon! I am sending safe and healty wishes to you and your family!
Roasts can always be cooked and made into 2, 3 or 4 other dishes for the week. Homemade "steak-um" subs (slice thin and fry with onions and peppers), beef pot pies, beef asian dishes/noodle bowls, diced or ground up and use in stuffed peppers instead of hamburger, ground up and make your own ravioli or stuffed shells or manicotti.
Found you by accident. We lived in Idaho for 7 years. Great state, wonderful weather where we were (Nampa), and almost all houses have a sprinkler system plugged into the canal, so you're saving on water, to boot!
As always, love the video. The only thing I can say is wish it was longer. Lol love the vids. Keep em comin. Stay safe and stay well friend. ❤❤ my kids and I love u guys. ❤❤
You could move some things upstairs to your other freezers so you could empty this one and defrost it, but definitely continue your freezer clean out videos! Absolutely love your food videos, be it grocery hauls or cooking! Great video! Great progress!
😍😍😍💖💖💖🕊🕊🕊 thanks for being awesome in seriously loving you and your fam and your videos theyre funny helpful real and just awesome i havent been this excited for someones videos in forever.
I have ribs in my slow cooker cooking with a can of mixed fruit, onion, seasoning and water. I have never cooked ribs - they were part of a food package I purchase usually once a month through a local church and watching your videos has given me more confidence so let's be hope for the best :)
Christine, I believe there's a reason your subscribers skyrocketed in the months leading up to this pandemic. You are helping so many people right now through your channel. Hope you and your family are staying safe. 💓
I found her Chanel just some days before pandemic time such a wonderful Chanel!
I'm convinced the contents of Christine's freezer/pantry are multiplying as we sleep at night 😂 endless supply

This channel is like a guilty pleasure for me. Not my lifestyle, since we're a family of three.... but I love your real-life adventures and how your husband gushes all over your cooking.
We are a family of three too! I love her meals. I just make them smaller.😁
I have 0 kids and no hubby. I still watch
Same! I’m a dog mom of two (my pups say hello) and I’m not even in the US so these grocery haul techniques aren’t applicable to me - but I am obsessed with all her videos 😂

Tip: dont use up everything in your freezers, just the oldest/most freezerburned stuff. Shuffle your pantry/freezer but dont deplete all your stock. And if things fit, you could move stuff from freezer to freezer to save electricity and to defrost a freezer.
^^this^^ because a partially full freezer uses more power to cool than a full one. Definitely move the food to fill other freezers.
Good tip! I knew to use oldest first, but moving it to other freezers, I never thought of. Thanks ;)
Good tip
But she isint she has an Other freezer
I try to keep mine full but there's times we have to eat it out because it's so old it needs defrosted usually every 6 months
You should move the stuff left in the freezer to your other freezers and defrost the big one and really scrub it down and then you can refill it again.

I like a man who is complimentary of his wife's cooking - think you have a keeper there !
I think that every time I watch her videos! He’s sooo nice about the meals always!
I swear it makes me want ti watch her vidéos even more. He is no Nice To her

Empty it and defrost it while you have the time on lockdown...if you do it now it won't interfear when regular life returns whenever that may be
"Dave says I'm not thinking clearly..." Story of my life🙃
I now say 'micro-wah-vay' and giggle a little every time!🤣You just don't know how what you say will impact people❤
Haley's look is priceless when she likes something!!!
Move temporarily so you can clean out. Eventually organize with beef in one freezer, poultry in another, etc.
instead of shredding cheese by hand I stick the bricks in the freezer just long enough to firm up, chop into chunks and thrown in my blender and It turns into little crumbles that melts the same as shredded cheese. It's so much easier in my opinion to do it this way
Really smart.
This is MY level of smart and lazy. 😁
I bought a salad shooter at a garage sale and use that to shred cheese. I do it all at once and store the shredded cheese in the fridge to use as necessary.
Always better to freeze before you cup or slice or shred.
Yes, please continue the freezer meals, and showing us the freezer clean progress. We need that inspiration to do the same. For me, the freezer becomes a black hole. I love your ideas for meal planning.

@@victoriameredith629 i agree!
Your liberal use of butter makes my heart happy! 🤣💘
I had some old catfish in my freezer. I've made both fish stew and fish chowder. Both turned out great.
Penny Yager Share the recipe, please?
Goodness...I wouldn’t have a problem eating roast for days. I’d eat pot roast, beef stew, beef and noodles, vegetable soup, beef fajitas, beef stroganoff, beef n cheddar...endless possibilities! I’d love to have that many roasts. There’s not a single one in my freezer.
I love Alton Brown. I always recommend him, when somebody is learning to cook. Entertaining, but very educational shows.😊
Your husband looked like he was going to cry tears of joy, while eating the cheesecake. lol lol lol
I would condense to fewer freezers so that you can clean out the box one. ALso with the food condensed you will have a better idea what you have to use because it will be all together.
🤦♀️ Dave looking at the snow behind me like it was really a surprise 🤣

Christine: ”Nothing fancy, just steak”
Me: T-bones are so fancy I’ve never had it. lol
Super Moosie FR me too!!!!
You’re honestly not missing anything, it’s just a hunk of meat😂 tacos are way better 😋
Adagio Borntrager Well, it’s both strip steak and tenderloin IN ONE! Two of the most expensive cuts there is. Just sayin. I wouldn’t turn it down. Not so frugal though. lol
Super Moosie it may be EXPENSIVE but sometimes expensive isn’t better 😉

I'd love to see another couple weeks of freezer clean out, any freezer. This is super inspiring!
Keep doing freezer challenge, in our current climate I think this is how most people are living at the moment!
I love your family! Watching your videos always makes me happy. I love seeing your kids react to your cooking.

I can't wait to try the shrimp dish and the cheesecake! Thank you so much for taking the time to record all of this for all of us.
You are honestly my absolute favorite channel to watch. Such a sweet family and everything is so realistic and relatable, unlike many other channels.

Ooh yes please keep going. Love these! 😊
Move the chest freezer stuff up to one of your main freezers so you can thaw and clean out the chest. You guys are doing so well!

I love watching your channel, you have an awesome family, stay safe!
I would rotate food upstairs and then refill.
Love that Montreal Steak seasoning. I use it for many things too. I make a cheeseburger mac soup and use that seasoning in it...so yummy
Your family is soooo cute. Thanks for the visit
LOL the kids’ reactions are a riot!!!- Kristy in Missouri 🤗
YES PLEASE! Please continue with the freezer clean out videos!
You can cut up your chuck roasts into cubes and make stew, you can also brown and braise the cut up roast in beef broth/stock till tender add a slurry of either flour or cornstarch to thicken and serve over rice, noodles or mashed potatoes. Omg you have to do something with the catfish!! I have to see what you do. 😁
That roast recipe is epic! Thank you for sharing!!
Thank you for all the amazing videos you share. It's been such a nice escape from all the craziness. You and your family always make me smile :)
I'd suggest using the time to condense and organize ALL the freezers. Save one for packages that have not been opened, keep the partial packages in another and make a final push to use up the partial packages.
I found your channel recently, I love it! Thank you for great videos
I like to do an inventory of my freezers and I try to rotate through my types of meats/meal ideas. All of those ideas looked super yummy. I'd love to try the shredded beef tacos. They look delicious. Thanks for keeping up the videos while we are stuck at home

Made your banana bread two days ago, it was incredible! Thanks for the recipe!! My kiddos were in love!! ☺️♥️
I love these videos...I’ve learned some new recipes!
Aww your youngest is such a cutie and so sweet xoxo all your kids are so well mannered you have a lovely family
Love this channel ❤️ Definitely binge watching
these look so good ty for making this!
We have a lot of roasts too. I just made beef and broccoli (minus the broccoli because I didn’t have any). I cut the roast in strips, browned each side for a minute and then put it in my slow cooker for 6-7 hours with a cup of beef neither, some sesame oil, coconut aminos and 3 garlic cloves. more challenge! this is so good! and all the food seems delicious!!!
Keep going with cleaning out the freezers !! Also super curious about the catfish 😄🐠
You are killing the freezer challenge sis!! Great job!
Head tilt kitchenaids are the cheaper smaller ones. The bowl lift are bigger and pricier, they still make both. You scored. 😉
I was looking for this comment 😂
Roasts can always be cooked and made into 2, 3 or 4 other dishes for the week. Homemade "steak-um" subs (slice thin and fry with onions and peppers), beef pot pies, beef asian dishes/noodle bowls, diced or ground up and use in stuffed peppers instead of hamburger, ground up and make your own ravioli or stuffed shells or manicotti.
Am I shredding or am I shredded. Lol you guys are sweet.
What is it like to have a happy family like yours? I don’t know but it makes me calm and happy to watch you live it. ✌🏽
Love your videos, keeping me sane.
Found you by accident. We lived in Idaho for 7 years. Great state, wonderful weather where we were (Nampa), and almost all houses have a sprinkler system plugged into the canal, so you're saving on water, to boot!

One of our favorite meals using a roast is crockpot French dip. So yummy!
I love ur freezer clean out videos. More pls haha
I have ribs in my slow cooker cooking with a can of mixed fruit, onion, seasoning and water. I have never cooked ribs - they were part of a food package I purchase usually once a month through a local church and watching your videos has given me more confidence so let's be hope for the best :)
