Sig P322
We had some initial issues but found the problem and the fix to it!
Also we had to edit video to comply with all RUclips policies, but there is a threaded barrel and adaptor that comes with this Sig P322!
I have an early one and have no issues. I don’t baby the mags, but the included tool makes it easier to just hold in one hand while loading one round at a time with the other. Once in a while I encounter some misfeeds but it usually seems more to do with gunk buildup in the chamber and breech face areas. These areas also seem to lead to misfires in this, the TX, and other rimfires, when a little waxy buildup prevents a solid interface between rim and chamber. Some of these deposits don’t loosen with normal solvent and may even need to be scraped away. It doesn’t need to be white glove clean, just not filthy. Mags, too, will build up some wax and gunk around the lip and ramp area. They may also come with a little bit plastic flash that needs to be cleaned up.
Rimfire, especially in a pistol, and especially suppressed, is a filthy thing. Bullets are lubed with wax, short barrels leave unburnt residue, and blowback mechanisms expose the firing area to plenty of gas and residues. It’s the nature of the beast and requires a little more effort to be reliable. It’s not always the fault of the gun or the mag.

I'm hopefully ordering the one with the Moss green slide in the next few weeks. My buddy had been trying to talk me into the tx-22 for the longest but i need something the wife can handle and that i can hand down to my son when he's ready. Looking forward to it. Will update.

Had a hell of a time with my 322 at first. One trip back to Sig and it runs like a sewing machine now. Not happy about having to send it back but they made it right, the first time. Mine is a first issue gun and we all know about BUGS in new model anything. I would bet that by now anyone buying a 322 is gonna get a runner right outa the box.
Yeah I agree for sure. As long as they fix it I don’t hold it against them too much as manufacturing issues happen for sure. Overall it’s a amazing 22 pistol in my opinion
@@muddyrivertactical I think so! From all the posts and reviews I've read it seems some guys have had less than satisfactory results when dealing with Sig. Maybe I just got lucky, I don't know. What I do know is whatever the problem was with my pistol no longer exists. Sig was very accommodating. Fast turnaround with the fix, the first time. Hope everyone else gets the same treatment
Biggest piece of crap i wish i never spent 400 bucks on. i couldn't get anything to run in mine. I was so frustrated it now sits at the bottom of my lagoon with all the other shit.
I have never had to send a firearm back to a manufacture. What is the process to return to Sig?
If you like the 322 and want to buy it a present, the metal trigger shoe from ArmoryCraft is a great addition. Only available in flat, it will improve the feel tremendously and will adjust the pre travel, overtravel, and reset length. Nothing internally is changed and installation is user level.
Same issue , mag is weak point on this 22LR , low quality compared to Smith & Ruger metal mags , i had stove pipes , failure to feed , lite primer strikes , 2 mags want look back on last round , yes loading mags carefully helps .

my TX22 has never failed to fire, but my 322 does even after baby feeding the Mags...taurus gets it but Sig can't? Go TX22 for no FTFs in 22LR.
Great video and the tip on shaking the magazines saved me from sending the gun into SIG. I went straight to the range to test out your trick and it worked perfectly! I believe SIG should have designed a better magazine but I'm happy this trick works!

Just picked up a 322. Are there any decent aftermarket magazines around that might have fixed the design?
Sig should recall and redesign these mags. There is no excuse. I should not have to baby loading a mag for it work.

It has been a real frustration. I sent mind to Sig and they said no problem here not one ounce of direction on mag loading. Never been able to get more than 18 rounds in either mag. Not impressed, at all.
I agree 1000% They should make some steel mags that you can load easily. Purchased the P322 Comp with the RomeoZero Elite optic (junk), compensator and slide racker for $600 2 weeks ago. First sig I've owned and won't buy another one after this. Think I have all the many issues with the mags worked out now but shouldn't have to on a $600 .22 pistol.
It really makes sense about the mags. Think about double stacking rimmed cartridges to 20 rounds!! That's insane so you really need to seat them right. On a 22lr plinker, having that many rounds negates any issues, so long as you load properly. I just grabbed a Holosun 407c off a friend and while I need an adapter plate, I'm looking forward to using that!

I was concerned about the P 322 when I first read about it. Barrel leading issues and the misfeeds with the mags. I reluctantly purchased one and couldn’t be happier with it. Zero leading issues and if you load the mags one round at a time, I’ve had zeros issues.

I'm picking mine up tomorrow, and I hope I don't have any issues. I was choosing between a tx22 compact (I need optics) and the p322. I never had a Sig so I figured why not,I didn't do my research and am now praying I have no leading issues. 🙏
Just bought a P322 and used your loading trick. I still had a lot of misfeeds with Remington Golden bullets. I switched to CCI and have had no misfeeds since. By the way, the first time I watched your video I thought I was listening to Hank Hill. Great voice.
I found several issues with this firearm - All correctable. The magazine springs are on the weak side, causing failure to last round lock back / auto slide release upon mag insertion.. (Hey SIG, How 'bout stiffer mag springs?) The feed ramp needs major smoothing work to get rid of the "ledge" that exits at the bottom of the mouth of the chamber. And, the recoil spring should be replaced with a "High velocity" one from SIG. After that, quality ammo = no lead fouling.
Yeah its not perfect for sure. Once issues are corrected they shoot well though.

The problem I have with my new P322 is that when the slide is locked back, the slide lock will not release it.....
I have one with the same red dot sight. I shoot CCI Standard Velocity and CCI Blazer exclusively I have had major leading issues with plated HV ammunition so I stay away from it. I have shot Norma Tac 22 some but it doesn't seem to load as easy in the magazines so I stick with the CCI . Most of the time I attach a YHM Mite suppressor and it cycles the standard velocity just fine and more than likely the Blazer is sub sonic in this short barrel. The more you use the magazines the easier they load and I shake mine also if you see they aren't stacking straight most likely they will jam.

Mine was great until around 300 rds per magazine. The spring wasn't strong enough to support the round follower in the mag. I took the advice off a blog post. I replaced the spring with a better compression spring. Mine are stainless springs. I bought them on Amazon and cut them to length. 12mm od and 1 mm thick wire. The compression per inch is tighter and doesn't hang up. I did sacrifice 1 rd down to 18. Shoots flawless now.

Just ordered my holster for my P322 and can't wait to get it, i really am enjoying my Sig P322 w/Holosun 407k-GR and have had zero issues or barrel leading as some reported. I have only shot CCI mini-mags out of mine in both 40gr and 36gr .. i have 4 magazines so i can shoot 80rds before having to reload my magazines ..m and as you mentioned, take your time loading them correctly and you won't have any issues. I like the flat trigger shoe and agree it it very accurate and a supper fun plinking gun .. GREAT VIDEO !

I just picked mine up, put about 150 rounds through, only one light strike on cheapo Remington and doesn't appear to have a leading issue. I got it used for $289 as kind of an impulse buy, never had a .22 pistol and after buying it THEN watching some reviews I figured I had a 50/50 shot of it being great, or dog shit. I'm happy it's going good so far.

Bought 10 round mags for mine and my girl's 322....solved feed/jam issues with her's but not mine.
Ive only shot around 100 rounds out this pistol, first 40 we loaded the mags wrong, next range day we figured out the right way to load mags but then I noticed 3 issues. The slide does not lock back when empty, but it will catch if the slide is manually pulled back, the slide also releases when a magazine is inserted, and the worst of all is the lead fouling. I have only used Winchester wildcat rounds and the fouling got so bad I can’t push a cleaning rod through the barrel and the bullets were tumbling so much that they would keyhole a target at ~5yds. I’m gonna send it back to sig but some people seem to not get the fouling issue resolved. Any advice??
I had the mag loading issues, but thats all. I have not had a single other issue with mine.

I took my 322 out for the first time and honestly I'm not a fan. It doesn't like federal auto match but works fine with CCI mini mags (which are about twice the cost). I'm very careful about loading the magazine too. With the federal auto match I had 2 to 4 FTE/FTF for every magazine. The CCIs worked great with no problems. Everything else about the gun is great but I think I'm gonna return it for Taurus TX22 because at the $400 price point it should just work.

Its really fun to shoot for sure! I believe we got them from Hold up Displays if i remember right.
Well now this is a interesting video and most definitely there is a learning curve on how to properly load the magazines. I do not shake my magazines upside down all I do is lower the follower no more than to let one round in and then back up lower the follower again until you can get one round in and then repeat. I have no problems at all with my magazines.
Yeah the Sig p322 mags are super finicky. Shaking them like that seemed like fastest way to fix.
Maybe some barrels are a manufacturing lot error in the first lots of production but consider this also, 20 rounds mags can also cause more heat then most 22's that have half it's capacity like 10 and under before mag change, double the heat possibly, also a pencil thin barrel. so adding more heat, more burnt powder, wax from bullet coatings and a pencil thin barrel the chances are that every shot rapid fire is increasing the heat having 21 rounds to get it much hotter, I think the gun isn't for rapid fire or designed to handle rapid fire, I have this gun and no problems but have been shooting browning buckmak 22s since 1985, Buckmarks can rapid fire and stay cool some what but a pencil thin barrel on the Sig 322 and Taurus TX 22 you could get them to hot, I don't rapid fire my 22s but once in a while, constant rapid fire on any 22 pistol is hard on more then just the barrel, the firing pin cycling so fast you can get more light strikes, this is because the timing cycle can't keep up with the speed of your finger, the spring needs time to snap forward the firing pin, although rapid fire may be fun it's unnecessary because 22s have hardly any recoil, you do a mag dump in defense you will hit the target so no need to practice run and gun mag dumps, focus on good A zone hits like double taps or head shots. Another thing is the crown of barrel doesn't have a 11 degree crown but has been kept a straight crown for the suppressor adaptor, that's why you will notice a sharp crown with no angle, it's so that adaptor and suppressor don't have a angle gap when connecting it to barrel Wich would effect accuracy from bullets passing over gap. Heat will also give your mags issues doing rapid fire or guys tossing mags on the ground after reloads, you can still do your drill on sand and rocks but put something down like a used blanket or bed sheet. Heat, friction, carbon build up, lack of lube including feed ramp give 22s issues, you have more rounds you can fire then you 9 mm thus they get more dirty and need lube sooner and they need cool down time, 20 rounds rapid fire is more heat and friction meaning more problems, it's a fun plinker but needs to stay cool, lubed and cleaned even after a box of 100 CCI standard or mini mags
I’ve had those same issues but wonder if it is the ammo as well, I was having trouble with Remington Golden bucket 18 grain hallow point. Did you notice any difference when shooting different grain ?
All ammo seemed same to me
My walther WMP 22 mag is also doubled stack but they have metal inserts in the polymer mag. No feeding issues. Sig really needs to design there magazines better or up grade the mag spring

Mine is back at the factory for the second time. I'm getting double feed after double feed with the occasional stove pipe. And that's after using the magazine loader. Apparently, Sig hasn't heard of an anti tilt follower. So, the magazines are crap, which makes the pistol a POS.
That sucks; sorry to hear that! This one hasn’t had a issue since so maybe we got lucky on ours
@@muddyrivertactical They replaced the barrel, that cut the jams down to about two per magazine. I ended up getting two new magazines. That fixed it. I was using the loading tool and doing what you did. And still jam after jam. I had two bad mags that came with the gun. Not particularly impressed with a .22 that you have to load the magazines just so for the gun to work.
I’m looking for a holster that has lvl 2 retention and accommodates this with a red dot and olight mini Valkyrie
Unfortunately we currently do not do any level 2 holsters.
how much does the sig p322 cost?
Great. For my new Sig to for correctly I need to hold the clip upside down and shake it. Will it also work better if I turn three time to the left??? Poor quality clips and I hope they fix it.

Hey Sig P322 Lovers!! Found a major issue/fix for the P322. If you load more than 20 rounds... which you can. It will bulge the mag in the middle and cause feed issues. If you're having feed issues try this.... Load the mag with 20 rounds. Then run the "LOADER" up and down the loaded mag and if its tight in the middle your mag is causing the feed issues. The bulge squeezes and makes the next round rise slowly and get miss picked by the bolt and pushes the round down or stovepipe's it. SO. After picking up new mags and loading only 20 rounds correctly. No failures at all. Also, I don't store the mags loaded anymore because of the bulge issue. May not be the ideal for everyone... I load the mags, run them then leave them empty.
Got to love mags that bulge. None of my 9mm steel mags have ever done that. I have an old S&W 622 that has metal mags and don't have any issues with it working perfectly every time.
@@ACommenterOnRUclips Probably a bit cheaper too. Perhaps they went too thin on the plastic, as no good mag should bulge when its loaded up regardless of if it is plastic or metal.
Just bought the P322 Comp today, I love it......need a new trigger though, my Canik triggers are superior and I'm used to them. Not very many parts out there for them, I don't even know where to get a new firing pin if I needed to. Thanks for the vid though!

@keystonebrotherb yeah they're the best triggers I've seen on a striker-fired. My MC9 came with a polymer trigger but swapped a flat face in there before I even left the parking lot! lol
I have seen a number of postings about the barrel leading up, even with copper plated rounds. Are you seeing this with yours?

@@noahbarkelew6093 I am wondering if they made the barrels just a mm or so too tight and that may be causing the rifling to shear off a bit of lead when a round goes through it. The Taurus TX 22 had a lot of barrel leading when it first came out and they replaced a number of barrels for folks who were leading up within a thousand rounds. It also could be that since 22 caliber is made so cheaply that the actual diamerter of the bullet head may not always be as consistently sized as a good centerfire round. Have you contacted Sig about it? I know when they had initial problems with the P365 they did fix the problems for folks and also corrected it on the assembly line. With Sig being the new supplier for the military sidearm, I would think that might be an extra incentive for them to act quickly and responsibly to correct problems with any of their guns.
@@wilycoyote9091 I am going to contact them. I haven't yet because I dread going through it. I recently shot 40 rounds through a clean barrel and it had leading plus a big chunk of lead on the feed ramp. Anyway, I'm already dealing with a 300 BLK pistol that I have issues with from Aero Precision. That's already super slow. And based on the videos of SIG's customer service I am not looking forward to it.
@@noahbarkelew6093 I understand completely, "Lifetime Warranty" sometimes means it may take a lifetime to get it fixed. My experience with sending back a newTaurus Gc2 for repairs and getting it back still with problems is sort of how a lot of the businesses seem to operate these days. Making them right at the factory would appear to be the best solution to preventing new gun owners from being pissed at a company for getting a defective product and then having to deal with lots of warranty related BS and with it potentially continuing to have problems when you get it back.
Over time have you experienced any barrel leading issues?

Why are they only tested with mini mags when they're advertised to shoot anything, kind of misleading for people who shoot standard velocity.
We have shot 3500 rounds of every ammo you can think of at this point with same results.

I have the sig p322 and I would love to add a positive review as well. You mention everything positive that I could say as well. I can say those that talk about the barrel and a leading issue are completely true mine has a problem with ammunition that isn’t cci mini mags. I have put 2000 rounds through with nothing more than a dirty 22 that fails to go into complete battery and causes a light primer strike. Now other brands like the browning 22 lr lol well twenty rounds and the rifling was gunked up horribly in the last inch of the barrel that I had to stop shooting for fear of the rounds not being able to clear the barrel. Now Aguila 22lr shoot well but as they cycle through bits of lead are shaved off and come back in your face and leaves lead bits everywhere in the pistol. So I just stick with cci and no issues and a very accurate and reliably fun pistol to shoot.
I agree. 22lr pistols by nature are always going to be more finicky that’s larger calibers so you just have to find what each pistol likes ammo wise.
