@@shannonmcinnis9973 The bought canned beans sometimes taste like the can. The home canned ones taste like they have slow cooked all day. Also so convenient to heat and eat!

Thank you so much for the lesson. I have used a water bath canner for our tomatoes, but I just got my first pressure canner. I felt a little nervous, but felt that if I followed the steps, I'd be OK. I processed 7 quart jars of chili. Only one didn't seal. I think I may have gone over the 1" head space on that jar. Watching your video gives me a little more confidence. My canner is the All American. It's a little different. It doesn't have a rubber seal. That added a little more stress to my first processing; I just have to make sure my lid and canner have a light coating of Vaseline on the surface where they touch. Everything else is the same. Thanks again!!!

The canner you have is the cadillac of canners! Awesome! The way I heat the lids makes me feel it loosens the rubber a little and helps with the sealing process. Thanks for writing me!

Thank you so very much for this video Mrs. Joan 🤗 I have a question, my water is very hard here. It has so much calcium in it. Can I still use it in my canning or should I buy bottled water. I was just wondering if it would ruin the canned food. Thank you in advance.

To the best of my knowledge that's why we add the vinegar to our canner. It helps with mineral build up and clouding of our jars. I wouldn't buy bottled water.

Can they be eaten cold, right out of the jar (if needed in an emergency), or do they need to be heated up to boiling first?

You can add meat. All meat and dry beans pressure can the same amount of time. 75 minutes pints 90 minutes quarts.
