I have found that explaining things (or sending Bishop Barron videos) about reason and faith, (like the argument of rational reality for God's existence; or the real relationship between science and Catholicism) to be an effective way of evangelization for friends and family.

Before Vatican ll, the Faith was so reasonable because we were schooled in Aquinas and we just received the Faith through the sacraments.
