I remember years ago when Andrew hit South Florida and volunteers were down trying to find survivors. It’s hard for those that have never been through a hurricane to imagine the devastation surrounding the volunteer’s by 360 degrees. Some of those missing will never be found in an area that isn’t supposed to get hit by a hurricane. Pray for all those missing, the volunteers, and those that have lost everything, life will never be the same.
I live in Miami and was impacted by Andrew. As devastating as that was, it affected a relatively small area compared to Helene and most of the damage was from wind and not floods.

Don't give to the red cross, a small percentage actually goes to helping victims. Donate to local churches or bring it to the local firestations in the effected areas. They need water, food that doesnt require cooking and no electricity, pet food, basic necessities like toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, formula, baby diapers. Wipes, adult diapers, bleach. Wow up in the highest mountains there are many down trees and homes. Never seen this part of the country it’s very beautiful. But the storm did do much damage it has debris everywhere. Hope they find the lost praying for recovery ❤️🩹

It’s so sad. I remember when the volcanic eruption from the South Pacific sent a Tsunami to my door step. I was prepping in my dreams for it while it on way to me across the Pacific Ocean. I dreamt that the house was floating in the harbor and I was working so diligently to get everything off of the ship/house. It felt like I was on a ferry but obviously all my stuff was in it so it my house. Then I woke up and I went outside and there was water filling up my backyard. It the Tsunami from the South Pacific. I had sensed it in my dreams and was doing my evacuation drill.
It's really heartbreaking to see the impact of the storm on so many lives 😔. Big respect to the heroes out there searching for everyone. Makes you appreciate the little things, right? 🤗💙

That was flash flooding. Water recedes in a day or 2. Dams broke up stream in areas. Rain falling down mountains draining into creaks and rivers. It didn't have time to soak into the ground. Some areas received rain just a couple of days prior to the hurricane. The ground was saturated. Trees uplift rootball and all because there was nothing to keep the trees in the mud. Mud slides. Water is very powerful and will erode anything In its path with that kind of flash flood force. Leaving a trail of devastation, mud, debri, lives many feet high. 😢💔🙏

Many thanks go out to the 3,300 FEMA personnel, the 5,500 national guardsmen from 11 states and search and rescue from 19 states (Perhaps even more by now) who are out there doing the best they can to help those in need. ❤

@@austincole7573 I'm very sorry for all the people personally affected and I commend you for your direct help and efforts. 🙌 As to whether or not they're very noticeable, I can't attest to, but they're definitely out there doing what they can to assist in rescue and recovery. One thing to keep in mind is the fact that they are covering a very large multistate area, and 1000 more additional troops were sent out today from what I understand. DRONES are far faster, easier to find people. Cadaver dogs can quickly pinpoint the bodies.
There is a heavy tree canopy for most of this region, so most drones are of limited value. We're also talking about hundreds of square miles here. It'll take time to find people.
