Luna Game... that's a name I haven't heard of in years... I remember this game series so fondly, but i could never bear to actually play the games because you know.. the whole 'virus' misinfo was pretty rampant so it's a shock to hear that 'no it was never a virus' from the creator themselves was a genuine testament to how legendary this game is. it's rightfully earned it's status as a creepypasta urban legend.
@@gothiiispiderz pale Luna is a creepypasta about a text adventure video game that’s hiding a dark secret, I’m not sure if the pasta itself is well written because when I found out about it I watched an animated video about it. @@lmbusiness5300 That's okay! Pinkamina is, in canon, Pinkie Pie's full first name. In fandom, it's a common short hand between "normal Pinkie Pie" (Pinkie) and "straight haired, crazy eyed, potentially violent Pinkie Pie" (Pinkamina) that you see very, very briefly in show, and uncommon-ish in fandom. it's just to make communication easier, but not everyone is steeped in the Old Magics.
The funny thing is, Pinkamina is technically Canon, given thats her full name. Pinkamina Diane Pie or Pinkie Pie, her hair went flat because she thought no one wanted to be her friend and she went sorta insane using objects as guests. It comes out when shes sad too! I think the funniest thing though, is Cupcakes came out before this was known. So it ended up being almost validated to some people since Party of One did confirm she can have breaks.
This is giving me flashbacks to that one video “horror short” that was on RUclips back in the day. It was mlp of course, and me being the gullible 8 year old horse girl I was, I clicked it. It was called “Spike” and it was basically just this insane version of Spike haunting Twilight Sparkle. It scared the absolute shit out of me at that age but looking back on it feels like a fever dream.
@@cosmiceyness It’s one of my cursed and very heavily buried old RUclips memories. It’s almost as funny as the girl who made her entire personality about having a crush on Herobrine. Good to know I’m not the only one lol.
@@Star-vu8xo Sadly it may have been deleted considering it was made a while ago and most likely by a teenager wanting to scare kids. I’ll see if I can find it but it’s doubtful.
Personally i think the time has come for Luna game to get a modern revival with more atmospheric and subtle scares as opposed to endless screamers. If Sonic.EXE can make a fan-made comeback and that comeback actually be kind of good, anyone can.
okayokay, but do you all remember the "smile" music video and the pinkie pie torturing rainbow dash videos? gosh lmao, our childhoods were.. interesting!
It makes me so sad when you say "probably no one cares" because I promise we do!! If we, your audience, did not care we would not click on the video! We love you and ALL the videos you make! I hope you remember that, have a lovely day!
SOILERS FOR THE SERIES what i find very exciting: luna also had nightmares in the original series. In the series, however, only one dream was shown, and she said that her dreams never turned out well .. that means if you have a lot of imagination you can actually connect the story of 'Luna Game' with the original series .. Lightly brutal but well who cares? (apart from the younger kids lol)
the reson they never turned out well was because she blamed herself for what she did as nighmare moon, and if i recall correctly (which i do) she got over it
It's hilarious that I remember vividly how all the My Little Pony Creepypastas and various urban legends like Luna Games opened me up to other horror stories and became such an important part of my childhood. Izzy, please keep making stuff like this! It's amazing to see a channel that appreciates the nostalgia of the internet and other classic topics. Also after 10 years, I am still terrified of creepypasta stories like Cupcakes and Rainbow Factory. The internet really was the wild west then.
god i remember cupcakes,,, i made a video on my mom's old laptop when i was 7 about pinky-pie dying and rainbow dash's revenge, or something- also, did you ever end up using that one 3d pony creator thing? god i haven't looked at this stuff for like years
Oh my Celestia but did any of you read Sweet Apple Massacre? Scarred. For. LIFE. 12 year old me really thought I could just skip over all the warnings huh?
I remember when the original Luna game came out. I played it as a small child and it gave me nightmares Edit: I got mental whiplash with the "you've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?" Phrase.
I love how in Luna Game 2 it just tells you that you died. Like no detail, nothing, I really like that, it's better than showing/telling what happened. She could have died from falling or something else, who knows really, it's the unknown that makes it scary
Yoooo it’s been ages but I vaguely remember this! I was in the MLP fandom as a tween and I remember people talking about this game in MLP forums and stuff. Never looked into it myself, but I’m happy to see you go over it! This should be fun.
I still have vivid memories of being 14, playing the Luna Game series on my crappy laptop at 3am and having the spaghetti scared out of me. The MLP fandom honestly released so many underrated horror gems
I distinctly remember stumbling across Story of the Blanks at a really young age and, figuring it was a normal game, playing it. Scared myself shitless and had plenty of nightmares that night, must have been an awful time for my parents lol.
Right after you said "what are the chances they come out right as I'm researching them", I half expected you to reveal yourself as the original creator of Luna Game and explain your sinister plan Gone Girl style
"Luna.exe" Bruh. I'm getting flashbacks to Cupcakes, Smile.mp4 and other "dark" fanwork of the series. It was a weird time but a welcomed one nevertheless. Back when Hasbro did acknowledge the fandom and when fans were relatively tame.
I remember discovering creepypasta's for the first time back in the 2010's. I was legit 18 at the time, but due to a really really over active imagination; things like jumpscares and general creepypasta and their games absolutely terrified me. This game was no different.
I thought I was the only older kid-young adult around this time who was scared by this kind of stuff! I was, like, 14 when Slenderman became popular, and being that we had a forest in our backyard, it creeped me out to no end. I almost suspected that it was likely real at some points. After all, why would there be these RUclipsrs with very realistic videos of Slenderman? lol Although these don’t get me too bad anymore, even now, some of the stuff still creeps me out in one weird way or another, even when I know for a fact that it’s fictional. The Walten Files got me creeped out so hard, and I’m 23!
If it's any consolation, some creepypastas are just genuinely scary. People write some really affecting stuff a lot of the time, even if it is kinda just a meme.
@@devent10n I feel you for the anxiety disorder as that is probably what contributes to these being so frightening for me. Even to this day, jumpscares still get me and the creepypasta I can't even big myself to check out is the smiling dog one.
Being in the pony fandom for over a decade, I definitely remember this. I was too young and too scared by all the rumors to ever play any of the Luna Games myself, but I had no idea there was so much more to it! Really interesting!
Oh jeez I loved this "series", I even wrote articles covering every single game on our local Brony website. It was also my introduction to creepypastas. Can't believe it's been 10 years already. Thanks for unlocking this memory and many others once again
Completely unrelated but I love your username and profile picture! It warms my heart to see anything PMMM related, it was as pivotal to my childhood as much as creepypastas were :)
4:34 that's actually Apple Bloom and, if i remember the Cupcakes creepypasta correctly, she's Pinkie's helper in that canon. That's probably fanart for that story.
Lmao Luna Game walked so games like Undertale could run, I guess, with that shutting itself down and messing with files schtick. But yeah, that looks like exactly the sort of shit my edgy teenage self would have adored, and as a little cringe as it is, it's so nice to see this sort of thing being experimented with.
Not Undertale so much, since that has its own genesis and influences, but these creepypasta games were described as an influence behind games like Pony Island, DDLC, and led to what seems like an emerging subgenre of vaguely-haunted lofi horror games.
I GASPED mlp jumpscare games especially luna game so much i fixiated on it so hard months ago i remember one of my old friends in a call telling me about the games, and i was immediately fascinated and found as many similar games as i could. flutter island, dreamy rainbow, and the spell to name a couple. they warmed my heart so much, got me into eurobeat aswell :-] i was never really around in the fandom or online back around the time [probably because i was.. 5 lol] so playing these is like a little piece of nostalgia i never had
Hell yeah! I was probably like, 13-15 when all these games came out, and it makes me so happy that people are still discovering them for the first time. The Luna Game series and Story of the Blanks will always be my faves :')
i was OBSESSED with this corner of the internet; tysm for making this!! story of the blanks and luna game were huge inspirations for actual stories that i'm fleshing out now
This was like getting closure on a friendship that just disappeared out of nowhere long ago! I became a FiM fan around the beginning of season 2, so this was pretty nostalgic. Thank you so much for this piece!
I'm a new fan, I'm only on season 2 actually now! I was mildly aware of mlp for a few years, and decided to give the G5 movie a chance after saberspark's video
I used to play the non-image invading version as a kid since I didn’t want my computer getting possibly infected. It’s still crazy how popular it is today. [Edit] Bunny Rescue was always creepy to me, I had such uneasy feelings when playing it. I remember hearing there were creepy elements in it, like a bad ending of sorts?
Really! I loved bunny rescue, maybe I remember it differently? I remember liking collecting games and the music ((I think???)) was kind of relaxing. Maybe I’m wrong but I remember enjoying it 😅
yeah!! the flash games on deviantart always had little easter eggs; there was this one person that when you entered the konami code on any of their games it’d activate a secret in them. and the bunny rescue game did have a bad ending, sorta! iirc if you played the game between something like midnight and 3am no matter what you did this other fluttershy would show up and kidnap the og flutters and it was really freaky bcos the music stopped and the other fluttershy had no eyes and i think there was a jumpscare too :(
can you cover the baby alive fandom i was apart of it when i was like 8 and its really weird and small. ive never seen anyone cover it and its kinda disappointing as there are alot of creepy weird borderline incesty aspects to it.
Dude, this gave me instant flashbacks to CUPCAKES HD and all the other NSFL horror shit you would accidentally watch or read from the MLP community - it's amazing how its the pr0n stuff that everyone freaks out about when talking about 'THE CHILDREN' when it's for sure the fucked up gore stuff that sticks with you and gives you nightmares for a week. Three words. Happy Tree Friends. Fuck that show, I was way too young and WHY THE FUCK DID RUclips DO A VIDEO WITH ITS CREATORS ABOUT COPYRIGHT, DOES ANYONE REMEMBER THAT?
FUCK DUDE. I watched happy tree friends when I was 5 because I legitimately thought it was a kids show. I couldn’t hardly read and I had to watch these cute little cartoons stab their eyes out with shards of glass. I was like legitimately traumatized by that show and I only watched like one episode in stunning horrible silence. I’m so mad that was green lighted and even allowed on Netflix
OMG HAPPY TREE FRIENDS I WATCHED THAT WHEN I WAS YOUNG AF IT TRAUMATIZED ME BUT I KEPT WATCHING IT I COULDNT SLEEP AT NIGHT I WAS SO SCARED OF IT same with the MLP creepypastas I was addicted to those too but I would be so scared I remember being scared I was going to get killed by pinkie pie at night lmao-
story of the blanks was so good. i didn't know it had been made for a mlp creepypasta contest but it def deserved the win. it made its own mysterious story, built up the atmosphere to be hit with a rlly creepy ending, and none of it felt boring. highly recommend anyone play it if your into creepypasta stuff.
I love it when you cover obscure fandom artifacts regardless of whether it was something I was into or not it's cool to see what other parts of the internet were up to back then!
I've always had a soft spot for these games, even if they haven't aged all that well. (they haven't) It reallly makes me wish somebody made a modern full-fledged horror game based on MLP with original assets, I'd honestly play that. People have made some pretty creative fangames outta the whole "Sonic.exe" thing, some that are even miles better than the original. And I wasn't expecting to find the creator after a decade long search, nice to finally have some closure. I'm glad they're doing well.
I know it's been almost a year, but you should check out D'LIRIUM! It's more of a horror inspired 2D shooter kind of deal and it's still in development, but it's pretty neat for a MLP fan game! And they made their own assets as far as I can tell.
I would love to see you cover Scratch and how it has changed over the years! After you mentioned it in this video, I got a huge rush of nostalgia and it reminded me of the wild things that happened on that website when I used it as a little kid. It would be so fun to see you talk about the website, and to hear your take on it as someone who used to use it! (Btw this was a great video as always!! Although I never played this game as a kid, I was really into mlp when I was younger so it was still surprisingly nostalgic for me!)
@@peachycrisy I remember the post that started all that too! It was this big callout about how jumpscares were traumatizing children and needed to be banned. Fun times
Not sure how much of a gamer you were, but I remember playing Minecraft with my kid and there being sooo many mods connected to My Little Pony. Texture packs in particular. Some of the major minecraft youtubers at the time did series on it. Kid and I had a multiplayer world going using one of the pony texture packs and I still remember the song clips used for the music discs and how all food items were candy. The pick axe was a lollipop and the torches were ice cream cones. The best mods even changed the player character to a pony and you could download skins to fit the frame. The low quality mods just pasted a pony skin onto the default "Steve" frame. Im fascinated by how much creativity fandoms build. The hours spent. Thank you for sharing these fandoms and their antics with us!
I’ve never played this scary pony game and yet watching this today has made me feel like it’s an important part of my life. No joke, it’s reignited my desire to make a game, something that had petered out for a while. My childhood mostly consisted of playing Sonic RPG 7 or maybe 10 and fighting some black and red Sonic clone as Shadow and Nights (does ANYONE know what I’m talking about?), but I would’ve loved to have known about this in my later Sonic.exe/creepypasta phase. Thanks for introducing me!
@@fIorapetals I couldn't possibly forget, I played through that whole series so much as a kid. The eighth game had a fucking opening cutscene with a Naruto song over it and it was the coolest shit I had ever seen.
This brought back memories from my EdGy oWo phase....... Edit: I remember watching youtuber playing this and me being a little coward, I skipped the scary parts
Many people believe that you have to be a certain age to feel nostalgic, but that’s not true! From the moment you remember your past and wish you could relive those moments, that’s nostalgia! But I get what you mean, we’re still young and shouldn’t be wishing to live in the past and yet here we are! 😂
Honestly this whole video just kicked me back into my old Luna Game obsession. The fact that people STILL are into it after this long just shows how impactful it is/once was. And if LunaAnon is reading this.... thank you for creating such amazing games that would shape My Little Creepypasta as a whole.
I can’t believe the pony fandom explosion was ten years ago! I remember being in college wondering why so many adults were rocking MLP tshirts and pins on their backpacks. What a time that was!
What's funny is that Luna actually DOES have an episode where she has nightmares in MLP FIM in one of the later seasons, I think, lol. I feel bad for the creator's partner. They'll probably be pranked at one point. That or the creator changed. Hopefully.
26:03 No, I love it. I'm here BECAUSE I don't know anything about most of the stuff you post. It's always fascinating. Even normally boring topics are interesting when you just sit down to listen to someone talk about them.
Video Recommendation : If you haven't, you should DEFINITELY do a video on IMVU, a game where sad emo kids designed their poorly rendered 3D versions of themselves all the talk in a chatroom.
Oh, man, this was the stuff of nightmares for 11-year-old me. I distinctly remember the slowed-down/distorted "Giggle at the Ghosties" audio from the first one (coupled with the edited Pinkie Pie image alongside it) keeping me awake for several weeks. Even as corny as all this stuff is looking back, I actually STILL can't listen to that dang audio.

you could tell me about some random kid who farted in class 5 years ago and id still be interested for real though, covering more obscure "cringe" fandoms is something that works well for your channel, is original, and genuinely very interesting. you have no idea how fun it is to find a deep dive video on something from when i was 12 that has like no other decent coverage. even when i dont have experiences with the topic, i find myself interested. i dont even like mlp, i had bad experiences and avoid it like the plague, but i still watched this whole video! i cant wait until a handful of years from now when i come back to your channel and see it filled with a treasure trove of content that i can settle in and enjoy and get hyped about things i would never have cared about otherwise i have no idea if you read comments on old videos though aha maybe im just talking to myself

Its a typical spooky serial killer creepypasta. Very much a product of its time
@@lmbusiness5300 That's okay!
So it ended up being almost validated to some people since Party of One did confirm she can have breaks.

what i find very exciting: luna also had nightmares in the original series.
After all, why would there be these RUclipsrs with very realistic videos of Slenderman? lol
Although these don’t get me too bad anymore, even now, some of the stuff still creeps me out in one weird way or another, even when I know for a fact that it’s fictional. The Walten Files got me creeped out so hard, and I’m 23!
If it's any consolation, some creepypastas are just genuinely scary. People write some really affecting stuff a lot of the time, even if it is kinda just a meme.
I'm still bad with horror, even things that are barely scary, and I'm 30. I have a severe anxiety disorder, so 🤷🏽♂️
@@devent10n I feel you for the anxiety disorder as that is probably what contributes to these being so frightening for me. Even to this day, jumpscares still get me and the creepypasta I can't even big myself to check out is the smiling dog one.

But yeah, that looks like exactly the sort of shit my edgy teenage self would have adored, and as a little cringe as it is, it's so nice to see this sort of thing being experimented with.
It's kinda interesting to see where games like these have come from, and honestly makes me excited to see where this "genre" is going
Not Undertale so much, since that has its own genesis and influences, but these creepypasta games were described as an influence behind games like Pony Island, DDLC, and led to what seems like an emerging subgenre of vaguely-haunted lofi horror games.

No, I love it. I'm here BECAUSE I don't know anything about most of the stuff you post. It's always fascinating. Even normally boring topics are interesting when you just sit down to listen to someone talk about them.
you know the day gonna be fine when izzzyzzz uploads
“you’ve met a terrible fate, haven’t you?”
OH SHIT
This is so nostalgic. I almost completely forgot about this game. Scared the crap out of me as a kid

YOU AWAKENED A MEMORY THAT I DIDN’T EVEN KNOW THAT I HAD. I ACTUALLY PLAYED THIS GAME AND IT FREAKED ME OUT
Can't believe people still remember this game, wow
I absolutely love listening to people enthuse about something they're passionate about no matter how obscure, so I for one thank you for doing so!
your makeup is one of the things i get the most excited about with your videos 😍 dang izzy look at she go
Video Recommendation : If you haven't, you should DEFINITELY do a video on IMVU, a game where sad emo kids designed their poorly rendered 3D versions of themselves all the talk in a chatroom.
2011 was 10 years ago now i am crying. classic tho, didn't expect this game to be worthy of any modern youtube video like this lol. despite being in the fandom at the time i only remember the first two luna games.
you could tell me about some random kid who farted in class 5 years ago and id still be interested
for real though, covering more obscure "cringe" fandoms is something that works well for your channel, is original, and genuinely very interesting. you have no idea how fun it is to find a deep dive video on something from when i was 12 that has like no other decent coverage. even when i dont have experiences with the topic, i find myself interested. i dont even like mlp, i had bad experiences and avoid it like the plague, but i still watched this whole video! i cant wait until a handful of years from now when i come back to your channel and see it filled with a treasure trove of content that i can settle in and enjoy and get hyped about things i would never have cared about otherwise
i have no idea if you read comments on old videos though aha maybe im just talking to myself
I really do appreciate how Izzzy is able to engage you and make you care about obscure internet stuff you haven’t of and wouldn’t have cared about otherwise.
You don't know how much I appreciate your videos Izzy, every time you upload it's an absolute 'nostalgia treat'. Fandoms and internet culture as a whole were so different back then and I really miss them. Thank you for making me relive my cringy preteen phases, I love it.
i had the vaguest memories of this game in my brain. literally from when youtubers played it a decade ago. thank you for making me remember what it actually was!! nostalgia and mlp fandom stuff lol. genuinely great!!! also your makeup and hair and your choker.... bro i love them so much
You just gave me the biggest flashback of memories I didn’t know I had. Was the biggest brony (or should I say pegasister….lmao yikes) when I was 11-14. And I was obsessed with these creepy pasta games online as a kid. Thanks so much for covering it!!!
The Garfields are multiplying. Izzzyzzz will soon be assimilated
the sudden switch to earthbound giygas was so out of left field and as a mother fan i laughed a little harder than i should
I was really into mlp when I was little but I had pretty restrictive access to the internet, so finding out about all of the CRAZY stuff that went down now as an adult is really fun!! I love your content and can't wait to see what you cover next:D
When you realize "The end is neigh" wasn't intentionally a pun, but rather a spelling error. '_'
Wait really
actually its a reference to silent hill 1 where dalhia gillespie says "the end is neigh" with this exact spelling. makes sense to reference a scary game in your own scary game
Literally the only reason why I know this game is because of Lauren, it felt amazing when you mentioned her at 14:01! 💜
Emerald Darkness is a name worthy of My Immortal
