And you had to battle other girls for the boys. And if you "zapped them enough" you basically had a trail of ghost-lovers trailing up behind you, with different types of boys. Holy shit...one type was even in a relationship. If you had enough power, you could rip a bound man from his gf.
Most games of value have been backed up. And you can either run flash (I highly recommend you not) or wait for the Ruffle project to finish for you to play them
@@ShadeATV I'm talking like media in general, like sometimes all that remains of things is a name or a personality, and for some reason people working in certain industries like to change something about a character that makes them iconic and then they'll go on and say something like "it's modern," or "diversity", and then attack people who don't like it, it's like people are allowed to not like something...
I really hope people remember the game "Love Me" which fully in Japanese and was set in a Japanese middle school. You had to shoot other boys with lazer eyes so that they would love you and you had a time limit to get a top score.
That was my favorite game, i remember like other girls would try to get boys and youd have to have stronger eye lasers or something, idk it was so much fun skkkdkeke
@@abrilvonbunny6205 the office kissing game was the only one I remember playing out of the kissing ones and it truly burns my hurt that it wasn't explicitly mentioned
I loved the game "School flirting game" where you play a Japanese high school girl running around the hallways and try to charm as many boys as possible by shooting pink love lasers out of your eyes lmao. It was soo much fun! :D
The 'From Geeky to Popular' game showed at 9:43 actually had a really nice message, she spends most of the story trying to impress this guy who doesn't like her because she's a geek, and it works - but then she realises he's an asshole and very shallow and that she's worth more than that.
I feel like what’s the saddest about this is that it’s such a unique experience growing up in the olden days of shitty flash games. It’s something that will probably never be recreated ever again (not really a bad thing though cause we’re all fucked). It’s just a rare experience that you will never understand unless you spent hours on your nasty old computer that could only run shitty flash games cause if you did anything more it would explode
What's especially sad is that I was one of the few kids who actually played these flash games at my age, I still have the save files from my Steven Universe and Warrior cats paper doll OCs, so old that I made a pink diamond character because canonically she didn't exist yet. Nobody my age remembers games like Animal jam and the water park games because they were too busy playing Roblox and Minecraft. I kinda wish I was born earlier because I can't relate to many people's childhoods, which makes me feel lonely when thinking about how fun these games used to be.
@@Ravengirl0814 OMG I REMEMBER ONE LIKE THAT TOO, i played it rlly often and it was one of my favourites but at some point it disappeared and i never found it again, that made me really sad as a kid
the kissing games... weren’t they like ‘red light, green light’ but instead of running, you had to kiss someone? and then if you filled up the bar, you won, but if you got caught, you lost. was that just a fever dream??
nope those really existed, i remember them too. they werent only kissing too, there were some about some devil doing evil stuff to an angel and such iirc
I'll never forget the day I came back to this website as a 10 year old only to realize that they had completely changed everything. Worse than a breakup I swear
I remember playing those "slacking" games a lot. Especially the one where the girl is an office worker and she does everything else but her job, like painting her nails and ironing her clothes. It was actually a lot of fun because I didn't want to get caught by the boss who comes by like every 20 seconds. There was a whole series on "slacking" games bruh like this girl would slack on everything like her first date and the zoo HAHA
I believe that the "kissing" games were about secretely kissing someone without other people noticing... There were "love" meters that would go up the longer you kiss. They were very weird and uncomfortably seхual... I completely forgot about playing these, but then got a huge whiplash after you mentioned the kissing games 💀
I would get so stressed out with those types of games so I wouldn't play them. Anything with a time limit I just couldn't do. I remember trying a few times though lol.
Being an Iranian girl, this site was the only place I could “express” myself through fashion. I loved goth music and really wanted to be able to dress just like American kids in the goth scene, which I couldn’t for obvious reasons. Girls go games will always have a dear place in my inner 12-year-old’s heart.
bruh that one room decoration game from girls go game literally IGNITED my passion for interior decoration and made me spend 700+ dollars in my adult years on the Sims4, now I'm pursuing an interior design career, this shit is insane Edit: just looked up Gwen since she was my childhood fashion idol, I still love this girl
this is so important. you are a historian for the weird and missing parts of the internet that would otherwise only exist in our memories, keep doing what you're doing.
the monster high dress up games were so iconic. it was basically the same outfits but recoloured depending what character you had with some varied hairstyles. so amazing.
The random pop songs they played actually helped me discover a few artists that wouldn't get radio play where I'm from and I probably wouldve never discovered if it weren't for those games (Melanie Martinez is the first one that comes to mind)
The Sue games had me in a chokehold. The instructions being entirely in Korean didn't stop me from playing them. In fact, I'm gonna go look for that pink haired girl right now :)
Sue games, Goodgame fashion, Sarah cooking, dolphin fashion show and and makeup/hairstyle were my favorite. Ohh I also really liked one were you did rode in a inflated thing in pool and do acrobatics Edit: They just said the name of the game, it's called uphill rush park
Same, although a few years later. I was so shocked when I went on the site to remember the good old days a few years ago and it was all shitty, ugly, knockoff disney princess games. It was so hard to find the games I were looking for when I didn't remember the names because you had to scroll through so much trash before you found what you were looking for
Doll Divine and Azalea have been uploading all their old games so that they run without flash! They have the Rinmaru games, too! Those websites were such a major part of my childhood, so I'm so glad to see them preserved
i remember playing those su games with my sister ALL the time, and omg the devil/angel duo too! We used to be obsessed with those...hiding games? Where you had to poison your boss or eat chips or kiss or whatever behind someone's back. And the bizzare genre of....boy collection games....I began playing papa's cheeseria before flash death announcement and it was so sad to see my hard work be for nothing....girlsgogames you will be missed
The Sue game where you had to like dress her up nicely for a date under a time limit, the potion one.. Or the before and after games. The boy collecting games, what where they called again? Something with love, I think
I'd never heard of this site, but Elsagate was the first fucking thing that sprang to mind when I saw some of these thumbnails. Factory farmed content, design dictated by a soulless shock value algorithm, clumsily screwed together by mindless sweat factory drones who have only the vaguest understanding of actual human beings.
It’s really upsetting to see today’s little girls or just kids in general to grow up playing with these dumb, gross, no effort, pregnant/dentist/surgery elsa games :/ girlsgogames was never the same ever since it got infected by elsagate
good thing i never clicked on those 😭😭 i was too busy playing those flirting games LMAO and kissing when someone isn't looking games or whatever they're called
I think is important to mention that before the privacy laws, you used to be able to have an account on the website. There was a whole community of people trying to get on the ranking list or accomplishing and kind of goals in the games. It was so fun to find people that were playing by your side and helping you to get further in the games. Is so nostalgic to remember. Love the video
Yeah! It was really fun. I remember you could "befriend" people. Although for me that meant finding people with a nice-looking avatar, sending a friendship request and never talking to them again. Although that was me in every single social game.
"Why did a flash game site targeted at tween girls start petering off in the 2010's?" The 3DS, which was the next (and last) in the DS line, which was the most popular line of video game consoles among young girls, came out and so did Animal Crossing New Leaf, which was (at the time) the newest installment in a franchise that was also massively popular among young girls. It was also when we would get the pokemon games with the fairy-typing, themes of fashion, and introduction of a nintendogs-like gameplay mechanic. I think what happened was that the mainstream video gaming market just ended up striking a chord with young girls at that moment in time.
(not talking about tween girls specifically but) the DS and 3DS were extremely popular in their own right but flash game sites had the advantage of having wide catalogs of free games. I would argue it was mobile games that dug the graves of free game sites as more and more families were getting iPads, for instance
That's a really interesting point! For me I got the crazy new and futuristic iPod touch, lmao. My game choices turned to temple run and random dress up or otome-esque games I could find for free.
there were also games like style savvy and the insider fashion games that replicated the makeover theme! Even as a "tomboy-ish" (read unaware queer) kid who played more traditional games GGG and style savvy had me hooked for sure
@@Narwhal39 I agree on this. I would use the family IPAD or my mom's phone at the time to play mobile app versions of those makeover games. Even now if you scroll through the app/play store in the kids section there's a lot!
Mobile games also began to take precedence, and we have many of the same format of games being promoted today on that platform even TODAY, which is absurd to me but what can you do... free games will be free games.
I remember playing these games and my mom kept noticing that most of the charcaters didn't look like me, so she went out of her way to find more diverse sites. She's the sole reason why I got onto Doll Divine, Azalea Dolls, and Rinmaru Games. Despite everything, I still hold Girl Go Games close to my heart. ❤
GirlsGoGames, DollDivine, Howrse, Moshi Monsters, NeoPets, Barbie and Transformice especially were always my jam as a kid. They were always super fun. I always liked one of the pet shelter games on GGG. Ngl, totally miss them games.
I remember when I was 5 and I was playing a generic dress up game. The background music was just a piano playing, but the song was so emotional that I started thinking "why is this song so sad? Am I dressing her up because she's moving and gonna leave her family and friends behind?" and then I started crying. My dad laughed at me.
I remember playing some game with a puppy, it was like a rottweiler puppy and you had to take care of him but he got older and his care routine was different as he aged and finally a very emotional song played and it was a black screen with "PETS ARE MORE THAN ANIMALS THEY'RE FOREVER FRIENDS" and that just made me cry, i was traumatized for a week 😭
@@LiterallyScarecrow oooh, I think I remember that one? I think if you didn't care for the puppy correctly, they'll die and I was some dumb kid, so caring for them was hard at first, I remember my puppy died in the FIRST LEVEL and I started feeling so bad that I stopped playing. One or two years later I came back and finished the game, the ending killed me too, I think it ended with the girl losing the dog bc of old age? or near that at least
I remember finding Girlsgogames on accident, and just falling in love. The devilish hairstylist, school flirting game, the pet shelter simulator, I could go on for hours about all the games I used to play on there. I would spend every afternoon after school on the website. It makes me oddly nostalgic thinking of it.
does anyone remember sue? we played tons of sue games w my sister, we didnt know any korean so we just guessed. at the end results she always was upset and blasted us, and we were so PISSED. we did our best to yassify her, and yeah maybe she had to wear a tracksuit to a fancy date, we did not understand the assignment but she looked BUSSIN and the NERVE she had to cry. at the end we learned that no matter how hard you try sue will never love you and you will always fail. good memories
i’m under 14, and it probably sounds stupid since i can still make childhood memories, but it hit me too. i remember when i was way younger, before school and responsibilities, i would play girlsgogames on the family laptop. i didn’t have a care in the world. it was bliss
@@haniicross I am 15 and I still feel nostalgic so it's not really stupid. Like even stuff from a month ago can feel nostalgic if there has been a big change.
YESSSS I LOVED THAT, I would always have the bed that hangs from chains on wall lmao. That, Uphill Rush and there was a Spyro game on there that I loved to death.
i used to play the games on that site RELIGIOUSLY, i was obsessed. as i got older though, i lost interest in the weird totally not elsa from frozen dress up games and got more interested in the decorating games. i was addicted to them, especially these pixel-like cute games that let you decorate freely. id literally spend hours on that site just to play those games, i adored them. id love to replay them again, but unfortunately they relayed on flash of course. some of my favorites in the series was a beach party one and a christmas room thing.
The one where you had to kiss during work while your boss wasn't looking and another game where you'd "collect" boys by shooting lasers from your eyes were my favourites
OMG YES the Flirting games! I remember the beach version and the school one. Damn near broke my keyboard trying to win the staring battles by spamming the spacebar xD
I use to love these korean dress up games where you had a TON of clothing options for your doll and you only had to drag them to her, i remember making up stories in my head while playing and it was such a fun thing to do that way
There are so many games I used to play in the early 2010s, and GirlsGoGames held many of them. I deeply miss the simplicity of life when I was that young. Wish there was a way to go back and experience it for the first time again
God as an 8-year-old who hadn’t yet discovered The Sims and didn’t feel like grinding in Webkinz for enough money to buy the cool furniture, the room design games on GGG were everything to me.
When I was a kid my mom really loved a couple of the webkinz arcade games and was really good at them, so she would go on mine and my brothers accounts and grind up a bunch of money for us
I remember playing Papa's Pizzeria, this one beach dress up game, this one creepy bartender game and shopaholic 24/7... I can't believe it's impossible to go back.
Shopaholic was my favorite game at one point! I actually was trying to search for that game about a year or two ago but I had no luck with the massive amount of similar games. I actually found the name when I was looking through a "Friend Yearbook" I had gotten at a scholastic book fair that I had filled out with my handful of friends. I put it as my favorite game! Innocent times.
Shopaholic was the best. I remember that I played it everyday because it gave you money? Or something to expand your closet. I was a little chubby girl who suffered bullying at school, so I created a whole story in my mind while I was playing this game. In the story I was like those cute avatar girls and hang out with my friends. It's sad but it brings me very beautiful memorias.
I used to love the game where you were a girl (it had multiple versions, the school version, the beach version and festival version but it was always the same girl) and had laser eyes that you shot at boys to make them fall in love with you, it was my favourite game on the site and I remember playing all of these games for ages 😄😄😄
oh my god that one was so much fun! i've had the little soundtrack for that game stuck to my head for literal years!!! i'm so happy someone remembers that one!!
I played that game religiously 😩🙏 Still remember furiously trying to run against the clock to get as many boys as I can and battling against the rivals, always winning and blasting them off. The music has also been stuck in my mind for years. Such good times
Even the thumbnail brings back so many memories. I used to adore Girls Go Games. I'd play the Kindergarten game, the Avie games, and all the fun makeover games for hours! I remember there was an animal shelter game at one point with all sorts of cute dogs and hamsters and cats, and I spent so long playing it because I couldn't stand the sad looks on the animals faces when they weren't fed enough. GGG went downhill so fast, and it's sad that it did because for a while it was a genuinely cool site.
I remember playing that animal shelter game so much! I used to name them all individually and always hated how that one lady held the cat when she adopted it. SUPORT ITS LEGSSS ITS FALLING OUT YOUR ARMS YOU SILLY HAG -12 year old me's brain (silly hag added for dramatic affect)
The Avie's games have my whole heart, you could dress up and do the makeup of Avie, and to unlock all the things you had to play puzzle games of memory, pairs and match 3, you could unlock text bubbles and stuff to Avie to hold so you can take a pretty picture with her friends Best games series ever, hands down
Now that we are all here, does anyone remember that one game where you played as a cute anime girl that had laser eyes that would make boys fall in love with them? And the “bosses” were just other girls with laser eyes and you had to click like your life depended on it to defeat them?
“You were kinda shit but you helped pass time in class.” You know what, you’re right. Some of those older sites were pretty bad but there’s a level of respect they have earned for being the distraction that’s needed in school. And that’s a badge they should wear proudly, even if they don’t have much else to be proud of.
Did anyone else remember like salon games? Where you'd have customers line up and drag them to various stations and run around to help them. There'd be upgrades when you got money at the end of the levels so you could improve your salon and other things, there were also customers that were more snippy about how long you took to get to them. There was also a plethora of like pet games, where you would run around to various rooms to take care of sick or injured pets. You'd get an emergency alert that I swear would give you a heart attack, and you'd be rushed to a back room where an ambulance would dump out a ton of pets. Also the dolphin games...
YES!!!!!! i remember all of those asf those were my FAVORITE games ever. i loved playing the animal farm hospital games sm and absolutely adored the salon games. im so so happy someone else remembers these they were the GOAT
I would play girls go games for HOURS every day when I was 6-9 years old!! It holds so much nostalgia for me and I’m honestly sad that none of the games work anymore because even tho they’re toxic as fuck I still miss them sometimes lol! I felt so rebellious if I ever played the kissing games and I must’ve played the Disney High School Love Story game a thousand timesssss, she was the moment lmfao
A bit sad Izzy didn't talk about the social aspect of GGG, like aside from the games, users would have a profile and be able to talk to each other. It's how I met some very close friends of mine, that I'm still friends with today (About 10 years and going!), aside from playing games we'd talk on one of my friend's profiles, she'd use one of the art games to draw and post artwork to the gallery on her profile, and it was a bit sad at times because people we'd talk to regularly would log off and we'd never hear from them again
I was very into being Truthful On the Internet and remember being SO sad I couldn't make an account because I was under 13. It didn't occur to me that I could just like.... lie.
Anybody else obsessed with that game where you’d mess up the girls haircut and avoid getting caught You were like a demon scene girl and the other girl was an angel and I think that’s where my interest in dark goth scene emo fashion started DEVILISH HAIRDRESSER YES THATS IT
every once in a while i'll try and find one but i never can-at least none like the ones you describe with the hundreds upon hundreds of different little pixel pieces of furniture and various other items. also crying at the memories 😭
I remember playing GGG do much I had an account and made so many friends on there. Once the "Elsa" and princess games started coming out, I stopped playing cause they really took over the website. Shopaholic, School Flirting Game, Dress Up Rush, and so many others that i can't remember the names of, but i knew i loved. Early 2000's GGG will be missed😔
I still remember when the site had original games and accounts with achievements, you could comment on stuff and see other's opinions on it. it was pretty fun to see a bunch of kids saying they were making stories on the decorating games or describing their OCs on the dress up things
Do you guys remember when you could make and post drawings on it? It was a little like ms paint with how simple the drawing feature was but i used to try to draw anime girls with my mouse so hard and other kids on the site would leave such nice comments on the drawings!
I adore Papas Pizzeria saga, I've "completed" every single one at least one time, and now I've actually paid to play some of them on the play store, it's my adiction, geniunly
OH BOY. This unlocked an abundance of memories I thought were gone forever. I remember doing the “love calculators” and putting my name and my crushes name. It up to 100% once and I was so happy.
I’m only two years late, but the thing I remember from the ugly to pretty games is that I often looked like the before girl. I had frizzy brown hair, glasses, braces and acne and read lots of books. It really impacted my self esteem for a very long time and it’s scary to see how even more extreme games can be online now
Does anyone remember the Japanese game on the site where you played a girl who went around zapping boys and they followed you about until the time limit ran out ?? And then you sometimes had to battle girls to get the guy?? Those games were INCREDIBLE. Soundtracks of the century
I’m trans and I used to spend hours and hours on here trying to “practice being a girl” lmao. I understood I didn’t fit that mold naturally so I fastened GirlsGoGames into my own peptobismol adjacent conversion therapy. So wild to see how many people also played it since it felt so niche to me at the time.
@@gray2578 transfem here, my gaming experience was more "completing Megaman Zero 2 on a laptop keyboard with an emulator" when I was around the age this site would have been targeting, so I just kinda never got into browser games like these. I never tried to use Megaman to "practice being male" though, they're just good games.
@@gray2578 It sometimes feels so weird reading how trans people try to fit in both ways. I'm cis, but with a lot of "non-stereotypical" hobbies and preferences, so I just went around declaring that I am a girl and I like cars most (favourite toy was little red Ferrari Testarossa my cousin gave me). Also might have sliced apart a few dolls at one point since otherwise people didn't GET that I didn't like dolls, period. Let's just all be what we feel we are and not put people in boxes for their hobbies. Take care!
Omg as soon as I saw the shopholic Hawaii image I instantly remembered it being one of the games!! I loved anything that felt like virtual world games and it had so much more detail compared to others on the site. This whole video felt like a fever dream it's cool to explore nostalgia in this way. Especially reading the comments and getting more memories of games I really liked to play but I had forgotten about like Professor Purse or putting my crush's name into the love calculator lol.
there's absolutely no way that there isnt a little goblin spy in my brain, leaking all my nostlagic memories to izzy so she can make videos out of them
I remember the comment section under everyone's profiles, I would always claim I was 16 even as a 10 year old because I thought 16 was like,, the cool age to be 😭 So weird to look back on now that I'm almost 20 lmao
The comment section was my first time being exposed to chain mail, it was a comment about a girl who died horribly and will visit me at 3am and kill me in the same way, i went to my mom with my pink dell inspiron laptop and asked her if it was real, she assured me it wasn't but i genuinely didn't sleep that day

Man, remembering how much fun I had on this website is bittersweet. It’s sad that the internet experience we had as kids - MMOs, flash games - will probably not happen again. I’m glad I was a kid in the 00s
i vividly remember the kissing games. i would be like playing a dressup game and see it in the reccomended- out of curiosity i clicked it for the first time, and BRO. it was literally a single click game, where you would have to hold a click until it warned you someone was about to look- whether it was ONE OF THE CHARACTERS PARTNERS, or in the case of a game about kissing at their job, their boss. it was such a weird genre that had so many different games, and genuinely baffled me.
Instead of GirlsGoGames, I was OBSESSED with Doll Divine, making my anime Mary Sue OCs in every possible dress up/character creator game possible. Spending hours making my characters in all styles and saving them to my computer with snip tool (if they didn't have a built-in save feature).
Man this made me wanna cry, I miss the early 2000’s so much, the music, the flash games, the cartoons and all the sparkle dogs and warrior cats animations. I often sit awake at night thinking about how I’d do anything to go back to those days, at least we still have all the old videos to enjoy and I sure as hell can rewatch every 2009 speedpaint in existence 😂
Sometimes I listen to my favorite track from my favorite flash game (the Underground Doors from Nevermore 3) and ruminate on the fact that I'll never be able to reclaim my childhood, but maybe I can do everything in my power to at least carry my childhood with me in my heart as I navigate adult life.
I remember spending my whole time playing the entirety of Avarta Star Sue games with absolutely no knowledge of Korean bc these were some of the few games that actually gave you a rating on your outfits and the artstyle was immaculate
I remember playing a lot of dollhouse games. You didn’t really do much on them really, you just moved around the 2d-characters and their furniture but I loved it. I have always had a strong desire to tell stories and through those games I could make up stories about these characters.
I absolutely loved the Winx themed one. I made up the stories abt why are they staying in the specific rooms and stuff. I don't remember if the site was GGG or something else, but i loved it nonetheless!
I remember doing the same with what I think may have been a knockoff game of a knockoff Polly Pocket doll line, but like.. the horse girl upstairs and the sophisticated piano playing baker downstairs just wanna vibe together
God I remember the devilish games. I was especially into that one devilish cooking game, I think the designs stood out to me enough that I got emotionally attached to the girls even though I don't even know if they had names. It's weird, especially cuz I had completely forgotten about them before I watched this video.
I used to ship them😭 I still kinda do, I never forgot them, I always wanted more information about them and still do. I recently played the dog hair style game months ago for nostalgia and went into social media and found fanart of the girls, I still have the fanart saved
My mom was a beta tester and gamer so I grew up watching her play, and my sister and I had a (really old) computer in our room that my mom built. We grew up playing frogger, speedy eggbert, orbz, think tanks, and insane aquarium. We learned a love of puzzles and creative problem solving from watching my mom play games with those elements, and I genuinely seek out puzzles and puzzle games to this day. So the idea that being a “girl gamer” wasn’t the norm was pretty funny to me when I first heard it. I mean, my dad is hopeless at games, while my mom was solving puzzles and finding exploits to help developers.
My mom isn’t a gamer, but she helped me figure out the solutions to puzzles when I played Portal 2 as a kid. I also wound up being a puzzle game enthusiast :)
Can we all just take a moment to appriciate Izzy’s makeup?? Like as someone who’s not good at it I can’t imagine how hard it is too look so good for every video!! Love your channel ❤️
GGG is just such nostalgia for me. I remember playing Sarahs cooking games, the daily quizzes as well as decorating the homes of the three main girls of the website.
They frustrated me bc they were in a different language and i couldn't figure out where the play button was but as i grew older i figured it out, and yk what? The ketchup farm and potato farm games>>>>>
@@yumi15431543 English is my third language and you have NOOO IDEAAA how much these games helped me learn, not to sound like a grandparent but it's too bad children today won't get this experience :(
My Daughter used to play some pretty weird dress up games on that site and one had a pregnant lady I thought it was strange but never stopped her from any media she wanted to interact with I thought if I kept her away or showed aversion she would want to do it more so I just always pretended things like that where no big deal. She was obsessed with chuckie because I said it was anoying and didn’t like it she was oppositional like that when she was little she still is sometimes at 15
I remember I accidentally clicked a rlly inappropriate miraculous ladybug game, and my mom had just arrived home from job- when she went to check what I was playing she saw it and I got grounded lmao-
My favorite games on the site had ways been that particular niche of picking out a combination out items to turn them into a potion/lipstick/monster spray and the n use it with different outcomes it was basically just glorified code guessing game with like, no hints to tell you what you needed to pick. I distinctly remember my favorites of those types of games was the lipstick one, sue’s potions, and the Cupid series.
OMG YES I remember those!! My fave was one in that you were creating lipstick for a princess to help her turn frogs into a prince! The outcome made laugh so much back as a kid hahaah

I believe the game is called frogtastic? I could be wrong but I think I know exactly what game you're talking about. I also remember the game having a sequel
As someone who was there til the end, they were removing a lot of social aspects, like achievements and the customizeable avatars to place in stock pictures and the home feed, and creativity saving mechanics, like the gallery and save states, which made a lot of people start leaving. And then it pretty much died off the moment they removed login access which was the final straw for those who had stayed. They removed a lot of crowd favorite mmorpg games because of the login removal, and they were deleting good games even before that to make room for the more disturbing content. People left because the owners tried to make it less prone to being sued or reported, yanno, 'child friendly' claims, yet added more and more disturbing and disgusting content. Which chased most if not all of their dedicated fanbase off. And then the flash purge happened...
Man, the social aspects were my LIFE in early 10's. Grinding achievements on games that had them for a cooler-looking profile, showing off drawing skills on profile pic and in gallery... Pet Party seemed like the best thing ever, at least visually (the most important aspect for me at the time). Why did all that stuff go?
@@togechicku4997 YES!!! I was waiting for someone to mention Pet Party!! I was so obsessed with that game and I was absolutely devastated when it shut down in like 2014, I don’t think I’m able to find a game that can completely replicate it.
I love how you inspire a feeling of nostalgia in me, and at some moments in life, it's a good feeling remembering the fun of just being inocent and have fun with the most random things. Adult life is tough, I wish I could be a kid again and just play those games, with no anxiety.

i remember the tokimeki school flirting game, the one in the beach and the one with the kabuki mask as well, you just had to stare at boys and make them fall in love with you; the more boys drooling and following you, the more points in the end - definitely shaped me into what i am today, i'll forever be grateful for it

And you had to battle other girls for the boys. And if you "zapped them enough" you basically had a trail of ghost-lovers trailing up behind you, with different types of boys.

I really hope people remember the game "Love Me" which fully in Japanese and was set in a Japanese middle school. You had to shoot other boys with lazer eyes so that they would love you and you had a time limit to get a top score.

"Why did a flash game site targeted at tween girls start petering off in the 2010's?"
The 3DS, which was the next (and last) in the DS line, which was the most popular line of video game consoles among young girls, came out and so did Animal Crossing New Leaf, which was (at the time) the newest installment in a franchise that was also massively popular among young girls.

The Avie's games have my whole heart, you could dress up and do the makeup of Avie, and to unlock all the things you had to play puzzle games of memory, pairs and match 3, you could unlock text bubbles and stuff to Avie to hold so you can take a pretty picture with her friends
Best games series ever, hands down
WAS LOOKING FOR THIS COMMENT !!! would love to go go back to when I was a kid playing all these legendary games
@@slxt4c0ca1n3 WTFFF same i literaly came on this vid to find this game cuz i couldnt remember the name
I know I'm late but they're supposed to make a new avie game!
Now that we are all here, does anyone remember that one game where you played as a cute anime girl that had laser eyes that would make boys fall in love with them? And the “bosses” were just other girls with laser eyes and you had to click like your life depended on it to defeat them?
I LOVED THAT GAME BRO HAHAH THE WORST PART WAS THAT I HAD TO GUESS HOW TO GET OUT OF THE MENU BECAUSE IT WAS ALL IN JAPANESE LANGUAGE
YES!! I was just thinking about this game! Why did it go so hard and why was it so much fun??
It's called Love Me! I just looked it up! You can play it on mobile!
@@WinningSidekick i'm not seeing it on ios..? who's the developer
@@ratboygirl i think they mean you can play it on the mobile version of the website, not that it’s an app
“You were kinda shit but you helped pass time in class.”
You know what, you’re right.
YES!!!!!! i remember all of those asf those were my FAVORITE games ever. i loved playing the animal farm hospital games sm and absolutely adored the salon games. im so so happy someone else remembers these they were the GOAT
i remember playing a clothes shop game like that and one where you had to work at a jungle hospital
The dolphing show game is so fire
@@BigMikiBerry farm animals good too 🙌
Chloe's cute pet hospital! :D
It's how I found out Nelson Mandela died. Very random that's the only comment section I remember
omg i used to post my artwork and spend hours making a shitty drawing of a cupcake
The comment section and award tiers were one of my favorite things about the website
@@ginasta7575 that is so fucking funny for some reason

You were like a demon scene girl and the other girl was an angel and I think that’s where my interest in dark goth scene emo fashion started
DEVILISH HAIRDRESSER YES THATS IT

The decorating room games will never not be iconic. Pixelated and so many options to do…. I’m crying at the memories 😭
Especially the ones that were in Chinese/Japanese/Korean, those ones took the cake
THERE WERE BARELY ANY ON GGG DESPITE THEM BEING MY FAVORITE
every once in a while i'll try and find one but i never can-at least none like the ones you describe with the hundreds upon hundreds of different little pixel pieces of furniture and various other items. also crying at the memories 😭
@@noodles1291 Amen!! Those were the best!
YES THAT WAS LITERALLY THE BEST ERA
omg yess! I miss the different avatars we could make on the group and comment on each other's profiles
i remember when u could change the colour of the website background 😭
Do you guys remember when you could make and post drawings on it? It was a little like ms paint with how simple the drawing feature was but i used to try to draw anime girls with my mouse so hard and other kids on the site would leave such nice comments on the drawings!
OMG yess!!! That was when the website was at its best - i miss it
I adore Papas Pizzeria saga, I've "completed" every single one at least one time, and now I've actually paid to play some of them on the play store, it's my adiction, geniunly
Papa's series is actually a masterpiece. I'm so glad it was part of my childhood
I USED TO PLAY THOSES GAMES LMAO 😫😫
BRO THE PAPA’S SERIES WAS THE ONLY THING I PLAYED OML 😭
I ALMOST FORGOT ABOUT THESE GAMES 😭✋🏾
I’m so grateful for Papa and his godforsaken Pizzeria
OH BOY. This unlocked an abundance of memories I thought were gone forever.
I remember doing the “love calculators” and putting my name and my crushes name. It up to 100% once and I was so happy.
OMG SAME i completely forgot about that haha
I’m only two years late, but the thing I remember from the ugly to pretty games is that I often looked like the before girl. I had frizzy brown hair, glasses, braces and acne and read lots of books. It really impacted my self esteem for a very long time and it’s scary to see how even more extreme games can be online now
Hot Dog Bush was literally you making hot dogs as George W Bush…it was iconic. Loved that game
Does anyone remember the Japanese game on the site where you played a girl who went around zapping boys and they followed you about until the time limit ran out ?? And then you sometimes had to battle girls to get the guy?? Those games were INCREDIBLE. Soundtracks of the century
Yessss and you had a bunch of guys just floating behind you with heart eyes. That was the best!!!!
Yes I used to love that game lmao
That game was the only time my lesbian arse genuinely wanted a guy to like me (for all of about 2 mins)
YES it was in the one screenshot at the beginning under “flirting at school” I played that RELIGIOUSLY XD

Transfem?
@@forgor4410 transmasc. Everyone saw me as a girl but I just… didn’t fit that so I tried to study and get better at it lol
Transmasc here! I "practiced being a girl" on GirlsGoGames too.. You sure unlocked a memory in me 😅
@@gray2578 It sometimes feels so weird reading how trans people try to fit in both ways.

She must be using talking angela to spy on you then
I remember the comment section under everyone's profiles, I would always claim I was 16 even as a 10 year old because I thought 16 was like,, the cool age to be 😭 So weird to look back on now that I'm almost 20 lmao
Same same, ages and all 😂 honestly though these sites were such wholesome places to be even if you were a preteen
The comment section was my first time being exposed to chain mail, it was a comment about a girl who died horribly and will visit me at 3am and kill me in the same way, i went to my mom with my pink dell inspiron laptop and asked her if it was real, she assured me it wasn't but i genuinely didn't sleep that day
Bro, this site was my home for most of my childhood. All I did was play the “papa’s-eria’s” games and dress up games.

i vividly remember the kissing games. i would be like playing a dressup game and see it in the reccomended- out of curiosity i clicked it for the first time, and BRO. it was literally a single click game, where you would have to hold a click until it warned you someone was about to look- whether it was ONE OF THE CHARACTERS PARTNERS, or in the case of a game about kissing at their job, their boss. it was such a weird genre that had so many different games, and genuinely baffled me.
Instead of GirlsGoGames, I was OBSESSED with Doll Divine, making my anime Mary Sue OCs in every possible dress up/character creator game possible. Spending hours making my characters in all styles and saving them to my computer with snip tool (if they didn't have a built-in save feature).
i was obsessed with doll divine too dudeeee
yess! Doll Divine and Rinmaru games were my go to! Those were the sites to make your characters and just waste hours away
I used to play *ANYTHING* related to anime, dress up, and anime dress up. This makes me feel super nostalgic.
I did the same thing :,)
Omg I used to do the same! It was so much fun. I'm so happy I'm not the only one
I remember doing the same with what I think may have been a knockoff game of a knockoff Polly Pocket doll line, but like.. the horse girl upstairs and the sophisticated piano playing baker downstairs just wanna vibe together
JMKit was my favorite
God I remember the devilish games. I was especially into that one devilish cooking game, I think the designs stood out to me enough that I got emotionally attached to the girls even though I don't even know if they had names. It's weird, especially cuz I had completely forgotten about them before I watched this video.
they were just angel girl and devil girl
