Yandere Simulator at least exists in some form. Heck, you can even play it! Yandere dev can drop development right now and it will still be more than this and other Kickstarters like this. Not a single bad thing he can do will change that.

The first three sound like legit pony names from the show. If you told me there was an episode of my little pony friendship is magic containing characters named pumpkin pie, star shine, and trick star id believe you. But if you told me that chet was an official character if either think hasbro’s writers for mlp have lost their damn mind, aren’t trying anymore, or your lying to me.

@@electricfishfan I'm actually very familiar with making games :) and the voice acting/final visuals are needed around the 60%-70% mark for working out lines that fit the narrative, dialogue chains, and making sure the files don't conflict with code or crash the game + the "game" was advertised as being professionally voice acted.
Yeah, when she was reading most of it I was like "Eh, I'm an idiot, I could see myself falling for this."

In all honesty, an Open World Skyrim World fused with a Dating Sim CAN work. But it would take an enormous amount of time and money that I don't think any indie dev is capable of unless they stop sleeping and eating.
Dark Skyes doesn't even sound like a Dating Sim name. It sounds like DLC for Doom or Dying Light hahaha

I think probably having the dating simulator elements integrated as quests would be a pretty good way of going about it, and while you have your partner in your party you’re given the chance to go through dialogue trees and such.

One of my favorite aspects of this scam was that the title of the "game" was eerily similar to a real video game, Darkened Skye, which I shit you not, was an action-adventure fantasy game for the Gamecube made to advertise Skittles.

8:33 is actually a piece I commissioned of my Ponysona omg! I bought two art pieces from her and actually found her through Dark Skyes. She was completely uninvolved with the sinister behind the scenes action of the campaign and was eventually harassed offline by Million Dollar Extreme. I found out all about it and felt so bad for her. She really was a wonderful artist. Had to pause the video because I was so shocked to see my ponysona pop up in this! I actually was involved with a few of these people as the drama unfolded, including the man NOT known as "Virgo," who I actually talked to directly. I was one of the first people he showed his proof to. What a crazy time to be alive. Everyone involved innocently with the project was sad to learn the truth behind it. "Virgo" got added to the page in the first place because the creator tried to harass him as well, btw--blaming him for the secret leaking out that it was actually a bullshit scam to swindle innocent people who just wanted a fun cute pony game to play.
My ponysona is named Eterna Love btw, though Arlece is her original placeholder name before I came up with a good pony-sounding name.

It's worth noting that after it was discovered that "Dark Skyes" was a scam, the Brony community did briefly try to make it a real game; but the project was dropped sometime after a demo was released. It was called "It's Always Sunny in Dark Skyes". That's not a joke. I have the demo.

Lemme say, as someone who was a young girl when this gen came out, it was a nightmare (no pun intended) trying to avoid the "mature" side of the fandom. Like I remember following a comic artist who made MLP fandom/show based comics and they made one with the Lyra plushie, where the joke was it could be used as slippers. I had no idea what it actually was until i looked it up.... 🤢💀
Edit: I'm not blaming the comic artist here, since they could not control who saw their work, but it is an example of how easy it was to accidentally find NSFW content within the fandom.
Ughhh I absolutely relate to this. I was about 9 when I got unregulated access to social media which was a massive mistake. Had to avoid nsfw on the fandom end, and avoid harassment and literal slurs on the "anti brony" end. It was a trainwreck and I'm honestly glad I got out
SAME. i had friends who watched it, but i couldn't get into it because everywhere i went, there was NSFW. even just googling "mlp fim" and scrolling for a bit, you would find uncensored MLP pornography. imho it was not a safe community for kids to be in.

I feel like there was a comic by the same artist but there's other comics that have similar jokes revolving around the plushie (one was a sleeping bag, for example).
I'm not going to say what the plushie was intended for, but hopefully this can clear things up lol.
I think the worst thing about this was hearing the artist is no longer online. It's probably because they worked on this project not knowing they were part of some 'lol bronies are stupid' scam and their reputation was ruined; whether they wanted to be a part of that or not.
I hope they didn't quit after being used like that. I hope they're just working in the industry somewhere.

So there's actually a little bit more to the story:
On /mlp/, people had become so convinced that it was Sam Hyde that they started emailing everyone and posting about it everywhere they could. Eventually, Sam got frustrated enough that he posted an unlisted video on the board where he practically begged the posters to stop alerting people. His plan was apparently to release the game, but it would have a fraction of the content and would explicitly make fun of people that had bought or invested in it. It was supremely pathetic to watch.

Having just watched iDubbbz documentary footage on Sam Hyde, it actually makes 1000% sense that Sam would do something like this and he even was so bold to edit the promo videos and kickstart graphic in the MDE style

@@fm9473 it’s like the same reputation furries get, I wouldn’t say I’m a “proud” furry or brony, but I 100% am apart of both communities. Although I’ve drifted more from MLP, I still draw fanart, make characters, watch the show, it’s spin-offs, and got hella excited for the new movie. It sucks how people think certain things are “cringe” when we’re literally not hurting anyone (except for the ones who actually are.) I guess the few people who happened to be utter weirdos ruined it for everyone else.
