Tony & Chelsea review the AMAZING new full-frame mirrorless camera, the Canon EOS R8. The Canon EOS R8 has a 24 megapixel sensor, 40 frames per second (FPS) with the electronic shutter, a fully articulating flip-screen, full-width (uncropped) 4k/60 video that's PERFECT for vlogging. It has human and animal eye AF and is AMAZING for landscapes, travel, sports and wildlife. It's a hybrid camera that's great at everything!
It does have a few drawbacks, though. Tony and Chelsea cover the strengths and weaknesses of the Canon R8 and give you some alternative suggestions, including the Nikon Z5, the Canon RP, the Canon EOS R, the Canon R6 Mark II, and the Canon R7.

I moved up from the 6d to the RP after 10 years, mainly because it was another entry-level full-frame camera. I was happy with it until I read about the eye detection in the R10, so I got that camera as a backup/wildlife body. I was fairly happy with those, but now I shoot more short films and my group always wants me to use their LOG cameras. All the different cameras have started to become too much. I've started fumbling for buttons. So I sold the RP and the R10 to get the R8. I love it! The image quality is amazing. It's Full-Frame, has eye detection and fast fps for wildlife, and shoots LOG 4k with no crop. It checks every box for me. I know it lacks joysticks and buttons and IBIS, but none of that matters to me. I use the rear screen joystick feature to move my focus points and reprogrammed buttons for what I need. I love this camera and hope to have it for 10 years like my 6D.
I bought a mint 6D a couple years ago as my digital upgrade for full frame. Great color and good dynamic range from that sensor, in a chassis that's not huge. And of course its AF tech is from the 1990s (and not even the best of the 1990s from Canon). I'm tempted by the R8 for the AF improvement alone.
@@thenexthobby The autofocus is pretty nice. My method for the 6d was always focus on an eye with the center point and then reframe and shoot. I got a lot of really great pictures that way, but this auto focus now is on another level.
absolutely love this channel always comes through for my options to pick always compare and no exactly what we are looking....Thank you
WOW thank you, I love this extensive review of the R8. Answered alot of questions I had.
I have the R8 and it has been a great upgrade from my RP. Not that it's that important, but one thing I think you may not have mentioned about the Z5 is that it comes with IBIS, which none of the other Full Frame camera's in this video have.
@@planetfun85 why? They’re a great camera brand. These two ought to know better lol
I didn't know about the lack of IBIS with the R8 until digging. Makes sense as a more or less derivative of the budget RP, with better video functions, but with the Z5 going for about $1000 (but Z5 has 8 bit 4k30 with a DX crop), I don't find it acceptable for any FF body to lack IBIS in 2023.
But if it's not a feature people want to pay for, it's not an issue.
If Nikon could do a $1500 FF with full 4K 30 10bit and their latest AF, and 20+ photos per second, that could beat everything else in that price range. So a Z5 II could be an interesting offering.
@@greenmedic88all cameras in 2022 should have two card slots.
Don’t let some facts get in the way of a giant advert pretending to be a review
Great review. Thanks. With my RP, I use the Canon app on Samsung to feed GPS coordinates to pix. Works great. I can also see live images or images stored on the camera (without transferring). For wireless transfer to Windows, I find the EOS utility nearly as fast as straight from the card.
The R6 m2 transfers files flawlessly for me. If you connect it with Bluetooth first soon as you open the app, it's already connected with Bluetooth and you just click on view images which starts up the Wi-Fi connection. I never had issues with the R6 either though the 5 gigahertz is much nicer. I've also used the app to update the firmware and it is lickety split transferring the file over
Same for me….
Same. Think it works so well
I find the app fine for transferring a few to maybe couple dozen photos at most. Which is usually fine because i'd mostly need it for grabbing a couple picks from the shoot and do my real serious work sitting down in lightroom. Its not good enough for a full professional workflow, but then again neither is grading jpegs on your smartphone.
For file transfer I always use a 3rd party app "Camera Connect & Control", does RAW, transfers in the background, marks the photos already transferred and most important, just works. Don't know about the WiFi in the R8 but in the R5 it's fast, 40MB RAW takes about 6 seconds at 500mbits.
Cool, you guys are with Adorama now. I love them. I also send in my used gear to them when I want to upgrade.
I've had my r8 for roughly a week and a half and it is amazing, especially when upgrading from a rebel camera.
I am thinking about doing the same as well, have you noticed any issue with the weather sealing? That’s my main concern with it. And I guess the battery life.
@@SonOfNiennafrom what i’ve read and heard from other people there’s a bit of weather sealing, but i wouldn’t rely on it, still definitely worth the money tho
My first camera was Canon 200D 5 years ago. Ine the meantime i worked with lots of camera operators doing weddings, comercials and tv shows working on nearly every camera possible. I also worked in camera rental shop. One week ago I bought R8 and seriously, it is blasting. Best value for money on the market
There are countries where the Canon R8 costs the same price as the Nikon Z6 Mark II.
@@michelecintramika8482 Wow, thats great for them. Considering that R8 is so much more capable and much more user friendly
@@pawebaran3601
Definitely Nikon Z6 II is superior to R8. I would prefer the R8 as I already have Canon lenses and speedlight. If I bought Nikon or any other brand, I would have to start all over again. It would be very expensive.
Thank you for highlighting the frustrations with the Wi-Fi App. I too experienced all the same problems, no different than those I experienced from Fuji and Sony. Can you do a whole video about this industry problem? The manufacturers need to step it up!
Very detailed review . I like your unbiased POV . Would have loved to hear more about the IQ and how it fares against the old R and RP
Whoa, starting in New London, CT threw me off :). Awesome review guys. Thank you!
Thanks! I agree with the need for WiFi-6 at the very least. And while Bluetooth is an option for the smartphone. I have a lot of data that needs to be routed back to my NAS for postprocessing via remote desktop on multi-days outings. I would like to be able to effectively and efficiently use the iPhone but it is not my primary destination -- just a nice to have.
Good vid.
Breaking the 29 minute record barrier is what sold me on this camera doing studio video work, plus its full 4K feature. I have an RP but I like this much better. This is what I was looking for four years ago but no camera shot longer than 29 minutes...then came the R8...wow. The Canon EOS Utility is also a great feature for studio work. The Zoom F3 also works like a charm on this camera for great audio.
Thanx for the review. I understand it better now
The way I would view the RP is that it's a fantastic studio camera because in the studio, you completely control the environment in terms of things like the lighting. it can produce some phenomenal photos in controlled environments. Its biggest weakness is dynamic range but in a studio environment, that's not a factor at all. In an outdoor environment, you can mitigate the DR limits by using flash (expose for the highlights and use the flash as fill). Good photographers are adept at flash anyway because flash gives so much flexibility to your photo taking. The RP can never be used as a run and gun camera because of its speed and its DR limitation.
Isn’t the dynamic range on the R8 the same as the R6 Mark II?
@@user-mw4zr3re9o I was referring to the rp camera. The r8 is a much more complete camera and does have the Dr of the r62. You could do everything with the r8.
Thanks for sharing another wonderful video like always 👍
I’ve found since the R6 & R5 generation came out, once the Canon app is setup and ‘knows’ the camera, the process to transfer is now convenient enough for me to use for low resolution previews at the end of a gig.
My phone can see the camera even when the camera is off (via low power Bluetooth), I would never use camera wifi to send videos, but for sending low quality previews to a client at the end of a shoot, it’s very handy.
I like to ‘rate’ my fave images in camera with a star, and in the app I have the filter set to show starred images first, and I have the default download file type set to low resolution jpeg, they download 2-3 images per second, so for sending 10-20 previews straight after a shoot has definitely helped me impress clients!
Dear Chelsea, Dear Tony, thank you so much for the very informative review! I love your videos and always learn a lot from them! God bless you and good luck with whatever you do in your life!
By the way, I was wondering if R8 works well with strobes because of lacking fully mechanical shutter, according your test it's fine and there is no any banding issue with flash lights!
Great video! I always watch your channel for the latest news and tips. I have a question about New Canon Cameras. I have A Canon 5DS and SR and wanted to know when Canon will offer a NEW HIGH megapixel mirrorless camera to replace the 5DS(R) in their lineup. I love having more MP !! R5S ?
I use the Canon app on my Samsung phone and it works flawlessly with my rp. I can immediately see the pictures I've taken on my phone and I can export the raws as jpegs to my phone in only a second or two. I don't know if the canon app issue is just for iPhone, but I have zero complaints with it on my Samsung
Thanks for another terrific review. Always high-quality content. One small nit, however - please make the audio volume consistent throughout the video. I find that B-roll is usually so much louder than A-roll that I am constantly having to adjust the volume on my speaker.
Android was created as a camera OS. Why does no camera use it?
The RP with the 50mm 1.8 is a great companion camera. The unobtrusive size makes it a great walk around, touring, street photography camera.
As to the wireless transfer frustration, I certainly share it. When you take pictures of your high schoolers at an event , they want to be able to post immediately. It would be great to be able to quickly get raws over onto the phone for quick Lightroom, retouches and immediate posting. They know the “big camera“ can take better pictures but they say never mind, just do it on your phone.
I 100% stand by youth sports (especially high-level HS basketball) has impacted the camera market
Get an SSD reader for your phone, its way faster, i go to car shows and take about 15gb worth of pictures, and have them dowloaded to my ipad within 2 mins
Wireless file transfer: I'm using FTP transfer on R5 (don't know if R8 support it). With good AP I get up to 500mbit/s transfer rate to my NAS. It does transfer RAW & video files.
I am absolutely a 'shadows pusher' in Lightroom and I was pretty amazed at this little beast's performance. Even high iso noise is not the usual chroma-filled mush that so many mirrorless offer. VERY impressive camera - especially for the price!
Ive never had any issues transferring pictures from my a74 to my samsung phone, it's pretty quick and i can access the raw files in the lightroom app
Would love to see a full review and especially a tutorial ❤
Great review!
Thanks!
Easy to test cameras when you have a wonderful model like Chelsea, I love your videos!!!
My a6000 is pretty good for wireless image transfer. Think it only works for jpegs but for a quick share that pretty good imo
There used to be a way with the EOS R and the canon app to have it automatically send the images to your phone after every shot. This was great as it only had a single card slot and your photos were basically already transferred so no need to sync later
I went with the Canon RP to save some money, once i build my lens collections i will get the R8 and use the RP as my back up camera.
To reduce chances of card failure. Use only Industrial grade cards like i400 series from Micron Technologies. Military and space missions use those vs the low spec consumer ones 😊
Thanks for the review! I know you’ve been huge RP fans, do you know if the digital IS improved from the RP to the R8. I don’t see any info anywhere. I assume it has, but nothings really been compared.
Hello. Can you recommend a strobe light? I want to make stop action pictures. I understand it is not the subject for this video, but if you can and do, I will appreciate it. As always, great review. Thank you.
Correct me if I'm wrong. The dynamic range when using the electronic shutter vs the efcs should technically be the same. The sensor does not loose the ability to take in light, but the AD Conversion gets cut down to 12bit vs the 14bit with efcs. So the actual range is identical, but the steps between black and white are reduced.
Edit:
Also thank you so much for dedicating 5 Minutes of this review to talking about the horrible state of file transfer and Wifi App. Going out with my camera is so much fun. When I travel back home via train, I like to scroll through my images and maybe even share a few already with my phone to friends. The App makes that process so incredibly slow and boring, that I usually get frustrated and wait until I get home.
Dynamic range is not just the ability to take in light. It's the brightest intensity that could be correctly recorded by the sensor divided by the darkest intensity that it could reproduce over the noise. 12 bit conversion reduces the accuracy in the darkest intensities, therefore reduces the dynamic range. However, this is only noticeable in the darkest shadows at low ISO, at high ISO there is practically no difference.
solution ? just do not use iphone...eg. in any other phone u could use usb cable to connect with camera lightning fast. no wifi or card removal required
@@damiangajda5655 you can use iphone but need to change the setting in camera as the default is for Android and PC
I have a Panasonic with an equally bad app so I bought a USB-C card reader which I can use to plug into my phone directly. Transfers are at 200MB/s.
@@damiangajda5655 Or... hold onto your seat... Camera companies could join us in the 21. century and produce actually fast and reliable ways of wirelessly transfering files to my phone or even share directly to social media. Heck it. Put ffing Android in my Camera and make it customizable. Why is my fridge more capable of connecting to the world, than my camera?
One of the few channels doing REAL reviews - positives as well as negatives. Thank you!
Hey Tony and Chelsea, can you do a quick review of the firmware update on the Nikon Z5? They said autofocus was greatly improved but I only saw a few videos of those. 😢
On our Samsung devices I (we) can transfer pictures from the R7s from my wife and me with an USB-C cable. That works pretty well also we are underway in nature. And I think this will also work with the R8 we are planning to buy as our fullframe camera.
Yes R8 is the best !!! I have it and rf 24 1.8 also ))) Its AMMMMAZING !!!!!!
Also the Low Light Performance of the R8 should be substantially better than the APS-C Format R7... right?
Great overall review. I’m glad even you found the Canon Connect app tricky! I take product photographs on a Canon 6D using the app on an iPad. It works fine but every so often I have to go through the whole procedure again of naming my camera, naming my iPad and then hopefully connecting it all together. It can take me ages sometimes. I was rather hoping that this was something Canon had worked on with the new generation mirror less cameras but it seems not. I’ll just stick to my 6D for now.
the 6D and the app was pretty primitive. If you could test out something like the R5 (or the recent modern cameras) with the Camera Connect app, you wouldn't feel like you're missing much (maybe video transfer is still a bugger). Here's the process I use and it's really rock solid. I turn on the camera (the camera had initially been set up with wifi enabled and Bluetooth enabled so once initial setup has been done a long time ago, you forget it thereafter). I launch the Camera Connect app. I tap the Reconnect button to connect the app to the camera. It should connect within 5 seconds but at most, 10 seconds. If you wait too long to hit the Reconnect button, it'll disappear but then you just tap on any button like "Import Images" and it'll begin the connection. No more connecting to the camera's wifi. No more codes. no more typing in numbers. no more remember wifi names.
Spot on about the pain of transferring files! Unfortunately from the good old 5D Mark III and to R8 it is still a key issue 😕 Wish it worked like Airdrop lol
It does work like Airdrop! That is to say, it seldom works.
@@jpstanley0 Haha - exactly!
Damn, I’m supposed to be studying but I’m so curious about this camera. There goes 21 minutes of study time. Thank you always.
Great Video. I just got canon R8. Do you recommend RF 24-240 mm lens? Just wondering whether it is really worth for 900$. Any suggestions?
Isn't the Subject Detect Auto Focus on the R8 (got from the R6ii) superior to that on the R7/R10?
I wish Canon would finally fix to not abort an image mid-file during FTP transfer when powering down but finishing the last file completely, like it keeps writing to the memory card when turned off.
curious about shooting low light and using the electronic shutter to get at least 20FPS...any banding issues?
My Canon R hooks up with my S21 Ultra phone fast. It only takes seconds to transfer photos. The bluetooth app works great.
What Camera was this filmed on?
The Initial Lesson i was Taught as a beginner photographer is to always Covet the SENSOR even though the Mirrorless canon has a sensor protector its wise to Cover it
Tony n chelsea u are role models Lead that Norm
" PROTECT THE SENSOR"
With my em1mk2 for fastest camera to smarphon im using usb c to usb c cable. It just detects it like external drive
iPhone Canon Connect app has always worked for me stamping GPS via Bluetooth on my in camera R5 photos
I think the R8 high speed shooting, auto focus and better video capabilities are all well worth the money when compared to the RP or EOS R. I use the Canon Camera Connect app all the time to transfer files to my phone. Idk what Tony is ranting about at the end.
EOS R is weatherproof; Has mechanical shutter to use flash in HSS; It takes online video and records to SD card simultaneously and only the Canon R5c and R3 can do that; It has a superior display; A professional battery; Etc. The Canon R8 is a replacement for the Canon RP. The Canon EOS R replacement is the R5c.
@@michelecintramika8482 what are you even talking about? The eos R is canon’s first mirrorless camera with the rf mount and the r5c is a cinema camera which is based off of the r5. The eos r has a better battery and slightly faster mechanical shutter and slightly higher res viewfinder and double sd card slot, otherwise the r8 is superior in every way. The autofocus, dynamic range, iso performance, electronic shutter burst rate and video specs. And what is the ‘online video’ you’re referring to?
@@hy7968 I suggest you try to find out for yourself. I'm out of time to chew on you. Bottom line: The only advantage the R8 has over the R is focus on animal eyes and better at high ISO. If the person always shoots with flash at base ISO and doesn't photograph animals, I would recommend the EOS R. For example: street photography during the day, the EOS R is better. If you want the best of both, buy the R5c. The R5c is complete.
@@michelecintramika8482 Uhm, it's smaller, lighter, better AF, better sensor, it's sharper despite less MP, better colors (the R colors are off slightly) and it's newer (better resell value).
I have an R8 and an iPhone 14 (Lightning connector) and an iPad mini (USB C connector). I have a third party battery grip on the R8, so I can't easily access the SD card without removing the grip, which is a pain. So I wanted an easy way to quickly transfer images from the camera to my phone or iPad while in the field, without using the Canon software or wireless transfers, which I agree is not easy to get working every time, especially if you are not connected to home wi-fi. But I found a fairly easy solution, just using a USB cable. Transferring images via a direct cable connection between the R8 camera's USB C port and the phone or iPad or Mac works great, but there are some things to know. For the iPhone Lightning port, you need the Apple Lightning to USB adaptor for photo transfers to plug into your iPhone (older version and newer adaptor versions both work) and then plug any USB C to C or USB A to C cable (depends on what adaptor you have) to connect the adaptor to the camera. That's for an iPhone. But If you are connecting to a device that has a USB C connector instead of Lightning (such as my iPad mini) a high quality USB C to C cable is all you need between the camera and the computing device. I just open the Apple photos app using either method after connecting the camera and the device. Once the pPhotos app is opened, the import button pops up and I select which photos I want to import. (Best to use jPeg images if you want to share immediately.). I believe this direct cable connection may also work with an Android phone having a USB C connection, but I can't test that. The needed cables and/or the adaptor are small and easily stay in my camera bag or pocket.
Interesting because I tried 3 Lightning to USB-C cables and the camera wouldn't connect to my iphone. I just ordered an Apple cable so maybe that'll fix it.
I couldn’t get it to work to the iPhone with just a cable. But the Apple adaptor did the trick. My old adaptor is a lightning to usb a port, but I just attached a usb a to c cable on the end of that adaptor and it worked. Supposedly an Anker Usb C to lightning cable model number 514 model will work but good luck finding that discontinued model. I think it has to do with the need to have only one directional data flow (camera to phone) and other cables want to do bidirectional flows. That’s why the Apple usb cables probably won’t work with the phone and why they sell that adaptor. What I found interesting is I didn’t need that adaptor for my iPad mini with a Usb C port. Just a Usb C to C cable did the trick.
How big does the camera feel? I have held the Sony ASR5 and my pinky just hangs underneath the camera. I don't have the ability to hold the A1 or Z9 as I have no camera stores in my area. How does the Z8 feel in your hand compared to the A1 or even R5?

As for functional apps and file transfer, Leica at least from my experience is pretty good. And I‘m not talking expensive camera models, but rather pedestrians ones like the CL. It just works.
Looks like the ideal candidate to finally upgrade from my 70D. I've been waiting for an upgrade to full frame for a long time now.
70D = R6

I think 70D = R7. I upgraded last year from a 70D to an R7.

You are right; however, he referred to a full frame. That's why I mentioned the R6 and R8. But, the correct one is: 70 = R7 and T8i = R10. Excellent update.
@@michelecintramika8482 I see. Yes, you are right for full frame equivalents.
Then I guess the R3 would be the 1dx, the R5 would be the 5d and the r6 would be the 6d. But R3 apparently isn’t the flagship according to Canon so maybe the real successor to the 1dx will come out soon.

Hey guys.. I'm a complete newbie but got the R8.. stepping up from a bridge Sony RX10IV what lenses would you recommend me getting if I shoot a lot of my kids outdoor sports and basketball? Do you have any recommendations?
The wireless transfer is a bit slow, for connecting I connected Bluetooth then WIFI . To connect I use Bluetooth then use that to connect WiFi it it works well for transferring but there is the speed issue. I use Bluetooth to control the camera
My Nikon D5600 sends over images via Snapbridge effortlessly to my Samsung S21 5G phone, never had a problem with it. Tony, maybe you need to change to Android 😛
Dunno how feasible/worth it it is for you guys but I would love to see more r7 in the fielf vids with ya always enjoy your in the field vids would love to see the cam I have in them too lmao
SnapBridge, while not perfect, is one of the reasons I’m still with Nikon… I use it every day to share pictures and most of those days it works flawlessly.
It definitely has the same bandwidth problems, hence the 2 megapixel jpg default. It totally failed to connect the last couple of times I've tried to use it.
The Canon R6 M2 supports IEEE 802.11ac (WiFi 5.) Even for a single antenna system on the camera which operates at a 20 MHz bandwidth enables a maximum throughput of 86.7 Mbps or 10.8 MBytes/sec. Thus, a 25 MByte image will ideally take approximately 2.5 seconds to transfer. Of course, there are other factors that affect throughput.
You should test the actual throughput. I tested the 5GHz with the R3 and I don't remember the number but it was unusable.
The R6 II's negotiated rate is 433Mbps, but the fastest transfer is about 25Mbps. That link rate matches the max theoretical 1x1 80Mhz channel width. This is when connected to Aruba access points, 5 feet away with no obstructions.
Edit: long story short, the upload feature mostly works but is far from optimized.
Edit: I just had to reset the R6 II in order to get wifi uploads working again; the wifi was on and blinking forever but wasn't connected to the AP.
@@dhiltonp Can't you set it up without connecting to an AP? My 6D can make a straight wifi connection between the 2 devices (Canon 6D and Samsung A70).

Keep your EFs lenses for adapter use and save a little more and buy an R6 Mark II. This is the best option.
Keep your EFs lenses for adapter use and save a little more and buy an R6 Mark II. This is the best option. I use the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III and the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III with adapter. And both have the same optical quality as the expensive RF version.
And I use an RF 50mm f/1.8 when I don't want to carry weight.
I don’t understand why is so hard for you to transfer the photos with the Canon Camera Connect app. I don’t have a R8, i have a R6Mii and the app works perfectly fine, i use all the time while traveling 🤷♂️
It would be great 👍 if you could compare it to Fujifilm xs20 as it is very interesting camera for content creators.
6:25 the cat on the block haha
Could you just connect a cable from the camera to your iPhone to transfer the photos? I’m asking because I don’t actually know the answer.
My takeaway is to just not ever use the electronic shutter. What good are the extra frames per second if the resultant images are slightly flawed?
I use the R8. I use the electronic shutter mainly...I notice no flaws with it.
@@diamondstateautoandchats499 even with rapidly moving subjects, do you really get no distortion at all? Like no slightly-off shapes of the wingtips of birds in full flight? If so that is awesome!
Tony taking out his bodies for a walk for some free sensor dust & scratches
It'd wild to me that he doesnt use the covers/caps
@@bosnakedisniksic these canons have a flap that covers the sensor when you turn off the camera
@@steven871 RP & R8 don’t have that option. Sensor is exposed at all times
@@stepheneckert4006 i was gon say, my r10 is fully exposed, no flap
@@bosnakedisniksic yup, R10 too. Only their higher-end models offer the sensor “protection”
I have an R5 and R7 and file transfer with the canon app works flowlesly, i went to australia and never had a problem. The only “issue” was i shooted in raw and the camera transfered a jpeg file to my iphone, was totally fine for me anyway
Yeah, bad apps still work perfectly for some people. Good apps work for everyone.

It's actually like this: It's hell for you to get set up; but when you - with a lot of luck and suffering - manage to configure it, it works perfectly fine. But if you accidentally delete the app or format your device, you'll have to go through hell again to get it set up. But once set up, it works perfectly. My experience is on an iPad.
10:45 the fish didn’t seem that impressed 😂
what camera did you use to video this episode?
Re: frame rates, are there just two possible frame rates, 6fps and 40 fps? Can we dial back the 40fps to a slower rate, e.g. 15fps or 20fps?
Yes we can
Canon EOS R7 vs Canon Eos R8
Which is best for making only videos?
Kindly consider IBS, poor battery, sensor has no protection & suggest a best camera for videos.❤ waiting for your authentic reply.
for CANON R8:
the questionv is v60 256gb or v90 128gb (for double the price). How many seconds would I lose when buffer clearing? thx for the help.
A good V60 is what you need. A V90 will help you too extend from 57 to 60/61 shots until buffer is full (see manual). A good V60 like the Sony Tough is what you need.
Can the camera connect to a phone directly by wire? I'm not saying that's desirable, but could it be fast? Or - is there perhaps a wireless attachment for the camera? That might connect to the USB-C port, that has a better wireless transfer speed? Yeah, truly, the transfer thing is what makes me use my Pixel 6 Pro for photos/videos WAY more often than I might otherwise use it.
I have Nikon Z 5. I wish more af features but I'm happy to use it even for flying birds. Hopefully Nikon catches Canon af for future cameras.
Add built in memory like 256 gb as new upcoming Leica camera , i been saying that for years , but 1 card slot would suffice
Amen!
i have the R6 II and R5 and wish Canon had the tilt screen. i think the R6II might have better image quality compared to the R5. the jury is still out. both are great.
Wifi transfer. I have the R6mkii and have no problems transfering images to my Iphone using the Canon App, easy and quick. Also, despite taking 10.000's of photos I have never had a memory card fail! I do back up daily onto a portable hard drive.
BUT I have had banding problems when sharpening in photoshop using single curtail photographing in a rush a rare bird through the window glass using the RF800 f11. Was the banding caused by the window glass or the first curtain? Should I have used the mechanical shutter?
How's the build quality, mostly plastic or mix of magnesium and plastic?
I use a an R6 original model. I need a second camera should I get the R8? I’m a Baby and child Photographer. I’m on the fence on what camera to get…..
Yes get the R8
