Take my advice with a grain of salt. About opening the door, after she gets in/out of the building grab her hand when u catch up to her then walk in front of her, lead her. Always walk faster than her. Just like when u were a child your parents had to lead u around & u followed. There's a subconscious feeling of security, dominance that will be triggered in her mind. Little things like that go a long way.

I am so glad I am a "tad" north of 40 and do not have to deal with those younger women who do not know what they, or want what they have been told they want. Sadly, those ideas have percolated into women 40 and over. Thankfully my eyes have been opened and I now "know when to hold them, know when to fold them, know when to walk away, and know when to run."

Anna, I’ve always loved your channel, your energy and message! Modern dating is an absolute nightmare for me. These past few years especially even though I’ve been putting in so much work on myself. I’m a tall, good looking, well groomed and well dressed man with a lot of fun hobbies and interests. I’m very kind to others, very personable and fun to be around, come from a good family, conservative and Catholic, own properties, play guitar, in the gym 5 days a week etc. In the traditional sense, I would be considered a “good catch” by a lot of women. In this day and age, I’m nothing but a ghost to women. No matter how hard I try and how much work I put into myself, I’m still completely invisible to everyone especially women. I’m gonna continue to put the work in, not for women but for myself

One benefit of being an older man is that the women I might be interested in are older Christian women and generally more traditional. Anna-dotes? I'd go with anecdotes, unless I was dating someone named Anna (hey, a guy can wish -- don't hate on me ;). Conversation: I was a fiercely shy introvert, but I've learned a lot over the years and now find it quite easy to hold conversations and traverse any rabbit trails that may present themselves in the process. (Aside: many people confuse introvert -- one who draws energy from being alone -- with shyness -- one is is uncomfortable conversing with strangers. It is very possible to be an introvert who is unafraid of conversations with strangers -- c'est moi -- but some introverts are unaware of that. I think you addressed this in a video long ago, but I suggest it might be a topic worth re-exploring). Valuable topic today, especially for the guys looking in the 20-50 age bracket. Praying for you. -- Russ P PS/Last week, you seemed to think that I was painting you as "perfect." I would never do that. You aren't perfect. My late wife wasn't perfect. I'm certainly not perfect. But you do seem to possess the all the key traits I find attractive in a woman, which, in my experience, is exceptionally rare for a single woman in my general age bracket. We teach people how to treat us and some women consciously or unconsciously test men to see if they have a backbone or to find out where those boundaries are. Why would any man want to put themselves through this? Like what do we get in return ? a low libido?
Lately, I've been thinking about the bower bird. The male builds a big pile of leaves, carefully arranges sticks and anything colorful on it, struts in front of it. A female comes by, 'Wow, that's a really nice pile of leaves." Nesting? Not the big pile of leaves. The pregnant female goes off on her own, builds a nest and sits on the eggs. We humans are a lot like that: odd mating rituals. So, I held the door, insisted my date wait on the porch while I went to my car to get an umbrella... (There were no leaves handy). Sure it's a game, but so long as we know it's a game, it's all part of the fun. I like you, you like me, we're seeing if we want to take this further... But it's also open to If I'm holding the door and my date gives me a shove... that's a funny comment on the conventions. (How many times has a female bower bird tilted her head and said, "That's all? You couldn't find anymore sticks? Seriously?" and when the male started nervously bobbing... "Gotcha." ) It's sad that there are so many frustrated and angry people. Anger shouldn't be anywhere near any of this.
The one salient feature of success or failure in relationships is a willingness and effort to grow emotionally. The common human condition is to remain a confused stuck child thinking this is your authentic self. When you embrace change and growth two things happen, often the people you grew up with who themselves are stuck children oppose your growth. The second thing is the person you are becoming you clearly recognize as the person you really were meant to be. It's the only way that 'child' can ever be happy and succeed. Along the way you might dress up a bit more than you normally do, try to be a bit more constrained... but it soon balances out. And you get a lot more dates.
Everything you said about confidence is absolutely true. I love meeting people with arcane interests who effusively share them. After 40 years I remember two sisters who explained Coke and Pepsi prices, sales, for thirty minutes. I have no interest in soda, but their enthusiasm and knowledge was a joy. The angry boy men who can explain male female relationships in one sentence should watch this section until they memorize it.

Starting in my late 50s I have dated girls (any woman I'm interested in is a girl, regardless of age) anywhere from 25 yo to a couple of years older than me. Note that there is a gap in the 35-45yo range.
I treat them all the same, with an emphasis on assert. In the car, I tell them to wait and I'll get the door. If we're walking up stairs, I take her hand for her to take my arm.
With the younger girls, they are very appreciative of benevolent dominance and gallantry. They likely haven't experienced it much. Older girls appreciate it because they have experienced it but it has slipped.
Aside: we should strike the word chivalry from the lexicon of romance.

You have a great voice for this material. But ladies make this all more difficult than it needs to be. It's very frustrating. Many good men my age quit looking because you ladies have no clue what you want, and your wants and needs often conflict with other parts of yourself. You often want multiple (opposing) things at the same time. I just can't do that. I think a lot of women need to grow up, frankly. I'm very emotionally intelligent, yet I'm close to dropping out too.

I will admit, I sometimes still feel like an incel despite having a girlfriend, well ex girlfriend now, mainly due to not ha ing had one until late in life, probably because I feel that my 20s were a waste, didn't have a serious relationship until the beginning of my 30s.
It causes me to envy and resent couples out there younger than me, people who got to experience having a serious long-term relationship before I did and yes I know people will always say comparison is the thief of joy or don't compare yourself to others.
But I believe it's always has been and always will be part of the human psyche, been that way since the beginning of time to feel upset and depressed when you feel you are not part of the norm.
Because of that I feel like a forever permanent incel for all time, even when I did manage to get a girlfriend.
So yeah even while I did have a girlfriend, I still felt like an incel.
I don't see myself ever getting over this, it will be a pain and wound for the rest of my life.
And I'm not afraid to admit that there have been times over the years I have hated being born male, because I know I'm not the only guy in the world that has this mindset, that men have to do everything in dating and relationships and seduction.

Well I'm entitled and I have a right to my mindset, I believe it's always been part of human nature or just the human psyche to always be sad and depressed or angry and resentful over good things that they wish happened to them in the past but didn't.
I know I'm not afraid to admit I have had these thoughts, and I'm sure other guys have thought this way, we feel that if we had been born a woman, we would not have been single that long.
Probably because women just have to exist and they are guaranteed attention and options from Men, that requires no skill or no social dynamics, no game or no seduction.
One person I remember I heard said that women need game as well which I thought was the stupidest thing I ever heard.
So ya I still feel like an incel for all time despite managing to get a girlfriend eventually, and I still get irritated and annoyed whenever people and society say that men have it better than women do in the human mating game.
I get annoyed when people say go see a therapist because it's not like a therapist can reset my life or have me start my life all over again.
I spoke in a few other guys who feel the same way in regards to being forever angry and upset, sad, over never having had a girlfriend until later than normal, until late in life.
Probably because guys and men to learn and know all of these skills, all of these social behaviors, talk and behave a certain way, act a certain way, walk a certain way or have a certain lifestyle, have a certain body, certain income, and more than that which I either don't know or forgot.
Women are pretty much basically all set for just being born and just existing.
Because being pretty and beautiful is not a skill and it doesn't require any learning, it's not a behavior that takes training.
It just really feels me with anger and rage whenever people and Society have the mindset or still think men have it better than women do in dating or just human mating in general.
I'll never forget what one guy said and this only added fuel to fire in regards to my anger and rage about the cards on dealt with for being born male.
"Boo fucking hoo. We also don't have to go through child birth and we're strong as fuck. Testosterone gives us ambition + mental and physical strength that MANY (not all) women are lacking. Being a man has many benefits and with great power comes great responsibility. Stop crying about it and get your fucking shit together"
Let's just say that pissed me off even further, got me so mad, that its no appropriate for me to say what was going through my mind when i read that comment that pissed me off even further.
Yes I know there's no such thing as fairness but I'm not afraid to admit that over the years in my life I've hated being born a guy or I just feel that it is unfair being born a man. Yes I'm aware there's no such thing as fairness, I just get very angry and enraged whenever people and Society still think men have it better than women do.
I know I'm not alone in thinking this way in which I have the mindset in which I feel that if I was born a woman I would not have been alone or single that long.
I like to think this way and I know that a lot of people agree with this and that is being born a woman basically guarantees you will always have options because you are on the receiving end of sexual attention just for being born a woman because it's often said that women are in abundance by default but men are in scarcity by default because for all time women are the ones that get pursued and hit on or sought after or get advances made on them and when you are in that position

The trouble is that people (particularly men) are notoriously bad at reading social cues: men tend to overestimate a woman's interest in him, women tend to underestimate a man's interest in her. A man misreading the cues can often expect ridicule, shaming, insults, social media flaming, mockery, abuse and in some cases a police report for harassment. Your advice does not attempt to address this. Essentially, you fallback on the same lame, tame and tired advice our fathers and grandfathers received. And as many women have told me - we don't live in the 1950's any more!!
