I was there the day it happened. I was stuck in the line of cars trying to get into town from Winter Park. Drove right through the destroyed city after it was all over to get home, and saw the dozer in the ground. Then we saw it in the parking lot where they stored it until they tore it apart.

Yo guys for comparison, the bulldozer model that Cody has is about 97,000 lbs (44,000 kgs). Komatsu (the company that made Cody's bulldozer) makes them up to 240,000 lbs (109,000 kg)
Weld that piece into the center of the blade. Bend it to fit the contour perfectly. I think it's a good place for it.
Brower sounds like about as much of a cukc as I expected. Amazing luck in scoring a piece of the original - I think you should frame it but if you end up making a few pendants, I'll definitely be trying to get my hands on one...lovin this series

Cody, if you go to all recycling in Englewood Colorado, you can find a bunch of pieces of The Kill dozer.I worked right next to all recycling when they brought it in. There was hundreds of people taken pictures of that dozer when it got brought down the hill.

I think you're right that it's good to keep history alive, but I don't think WD got all their facts straight before trying to be a history channel so they come off sometimes as idolizing him. He negotiated in bad faith and didn't take any of the generous offers for reconciliation of his problems. It's a good video series, but they need to rethink how they portray this man who almost became a mass murderer.

I always figured Cody was a heavy equipment operator in the past until this episode lol. Once i saw he was afraid of tipping the dozer. Then i knew he was never an operator, not for any extended period of time anyway. Over 18 years I’ve been in a few pretty sketchy situations but after awhile you learn that you nearly have to fall off of a cliff sideways to flip a dozer.

I have a piece of aluminum floor board that came off of the buried bus "bunker" that was at Mt. Carmel in Waco that the Branch Davidians had. My dad and my step mom and I protested there for several weeks and after they burned everything up and dug out the buried bus it was destroyed so my dad snuck out the piece of floor board and I still have it to this day. I've made a few crosses out of part of it and gave them to a few worthy people (if you know what I mean). Mark Koernke aka Mark from Michigan has several news interviews and you can see him wearing the cross I made from it. I hope you keep this very special piece of history together and don't cut it up. Just think that piece of steel was right above Marvin. That's an awesome relic.

The killdoser story really is something special. The media always depicted it as a crazy madman going on a rampage in his homemade tank, but the story behind it is really heartbreaking. The more you learn about the man behind the machine, and the targets of his rampage, the more you start to empathize with him and appreciate the effort he made. He really had no other choice. He was never going to win diplomatically.
