  • Some paintings almost paint themselves but this one had lots of challenges -equipment, composition, environment, & skill! Wiping off and not getting it right but also working it through and trying not to panic is part of being a painter - see how I work through it all.
    I'd love to hear how you deal with a difficult painting in the comments below. Or happy to answer questions too.
    Don't forget to Like this video, subscribe to my Channel and share with your friends :-)
    Thank you!
    This is a full length plein air painting demonstration.

    Great video. Nice move wiping out and restarting the ocean waves. Since you have a real cameraperson with a quality camera, I'm wondering if you can look into a way to have your voice not be overpowered by the ocean waves. Thanks for considering..

    Have you ever worked with Notans, prior to actually putting your sketchy composition on to your board and then having to erase it, because you were not happy with the arrangement?
    I am also interested to know what your easel set- up is, and particularly your way of stacking your colours ready for use.
    All very interesting stuff and a pleasure to watch.

      Ps I have just found and watched your video covering your pocharde box, Great. However you didn't cover the issue about how you contain your paints within the box whilst you are actuall painting............?

    • @ClareBowenArtist
      @ClareBowenArtist  2 года назад +1

      Hi Anthony, I’m glad your finding my videos interesting! (I hope you’ve subscribed so you can see more!!😊) I used to always use a notan or under painting in tonal values. But it can effect the finished painting with the colours coming through. I used an open box m size 11x14”. And a palette garage for holding and transporting my paints, all from the US. Hope that answers your questions. Best, Clare

      @@ClareBowenArtist Thanks for the reply Clare, I found your channel three days ago, and I am subscribed and Hooked. On the strength of your demo on the Mbox, I have ordered one this morning. My one wish is that I had found the M years ago! I didn't see anything on their website with regard to a 'paint palette 'garage'. perhaps I aught to look again. Love your work. Stay strong.

      Hi David You are right I took the head off as its lighter and less bulky. The only downside is you cant tilt the pochade. Here is the link from Amazon to show you which quick release plate I use. Best, Clare www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000KZCEYK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
