Plein Air Sunrise Cornish Harbour, Oil Painting Demo

- A happy sunrise plein air painting in the gorgeous seaside village of Mousehole, Cornwall. Amazing footage of stormy waters whooshing over the harbour wall. I am painting skies, water & boats with commentary.
I also mention my new plein air workshops for 2023. There is some basic information below - if you would like more details or to be put on the list for a workshop please contact my husband Mr B at nicklives@btinternet.com he is kindly helping me with the admin.
I hope to paint with you next year!
The workshops will be based from my studio in Newlyn in Cornwall, England, two in spring and two in early autumn.
The dates are:
· Workshop 1 Long weekender running from Thursday 20 to Sunday 23 April for 3.5 days £350
· Workshop 2 Long weekender running from Thursday 4 to Sunday 7 May for 3.5 days £350
· Workshop 3 5 day paint out running from Saturday 23 to Wednesday 27 September for 5 days £475
· Workshop 4 Weekend Blitz running from Saturday 7 to Sunday 8 October for 2 days £200

Thanks Clare for bringing us along with you on this lovely early morning painting session. It is quite challenging, I’m sure to start out in the dark, but then you are familiar with the area. I love to watch you paint. You always meet the obstacles and issues with such an optimistic attitude. They never seem to get you down.
I also love the way you tackled the colors at the end of the painting, all was so beautiful and well done!
Looking forward to watching the next one, but almost completed most all I could find.

I really enjoyed that demo but half way through I fell asleep listening to the soothing sound of the waves as I had a bad night last night. So I’ve just caught up again and I thought how lovely your painting turned out.

Amazing as always! Painting all those different boats must have been quite stressful., especially the ones in the background. You are to be greatly commended for tackling such an intricate scene, but even with so much in this scenario, you did persevere.

Your videos are wonderful! I'm so glad I found your channel, been watching for a few weeks and I just started painting with oils, it's so inspiring seeing you paint and talk through your process, this painting (and the other you showed at the end) is so beautiful, I know you said you struggled a bit with the surface, but you made it work and the texture is great. I also enjoy seeing your part of the world, I live in north Texas, USA and our landscape is so different to everything you have close to you. It's lovely to hear the banter between you and your husband, he does a great job filming and it's sweet to see a couple out enjoying each others company. My husband also comes with me on trips for photography and we have the best time together out enjoying nature, he has so much patience with me as I take (what feels like) forever sometimes on one particular subject. I can imagine it's the same or more so with painting, but it is impressive seeing you do a complete painting like this in such a short time. Well done! And thank you for making these videos for us to watch :)

Is that a new open Box M? And how do you keep your paint garage so neat? Very nice painting!
Hi Charm it’s newish a bigger size of 12x16” so it doesn’t get used as much as 11x14” one does. I use I flat headed palette knife to clear out paint deposits on my palette garage 😊🎨
Do you prefer stretched linen canvas over panels?…..again nice work!
Hi! I do like linen canvases they are special but they are not so good for storage if you do a lot of painting, so I do boards as well!
