Awesome painting. I would love to be able to paint so fast. I have been working on a graphic art piece and moving it around to various graphic art apps on iPad Pro. I recently guessed that I had been working on it for 2 years, but when I checked the beginning date on the piece, I discovered that I had started it in 2017. Eight years! I kept making changes to it. Not small ones either, but large ones such as changing the color scheme. And then I completely wiped out all of the mountains that I had spent years painting and that area became hills. I was painting a section of Prison Hill (Recreation) in Carson City, Nevada and also been doing research and looking for photos of the area while working all this time. New photos came along and I would see what I had done not to my satisfaction, so I changed it. I’m finally nearing the finish. I have an aunt who lived in Carson City for several years and then my mother moved there. My mother’s house was right next to one of the hills of Prison Hill. Prison Hill is named after the Prison next to the hills. It closed not terribly long ago, and the prison does tours now. I was initially painting from memory of what I could recall and the impression the hills made on me. It’s a pretty desolate area, but in spring it comes to life when the sage grows green and there are unusual and colorful wild flowers everywhere. It’s a popular area for hiking, biking and Jeeping up the huge, steep boulders and hills. I was going to go to art school after high school graduation, but was forbidden to do so. I was too inexperienced about life to even think about getting a loan. I didn’t know what to do and my school counselor didn’t help at all. While I raised our 4 children I painted as much as possible, but not enough to get the experience that I needed to improve. Now I’m just about to celebrate my 71st birthday I am having the time of my life painting everyday. I’m finally discovering my own “style “ which makes me feel amazing because I never found it all these years until recently. But I’m finding new ways to paint which changes the look of my style, so perhaps we don’t have only one style. At any rate, I’m happier than I have ever been because I’m finally doing what it is I was supposed to be doing. In the end, it doesn’t matter whether an artist is what others consider good. The important thing is that it makes you happy and that it fulfills you. I have wanted to be an artist before I could talk.

I wouldn't underestimate the skill of painting abstract art, because if you zoom in on the most realistic paintings (or even just real life) the details will be very abstract. I know a lot of people look down on abstract art but it's a great and important skill to have when pursuing realism! 😊
And then there are abstract ‘’artists’’ who can even draw anything properly, their drawing level is like that of a 5 year old, but they consider themselves great artists because they are so lucky that people a so fckn stupid to buy their artwork for insane amount of money, it’s paintings that the buyers would be able to do themselves lol.. realism requires real skill, it’s a shame that aren’t collectors don’t see that.

Absolutely gorgeous! I was very blessed to have been a volunteer who worked with grey wolf puppies, acclimating them to people while eventually socializing them to the adult wolves that they would be joining as part of the pact. It was literally the best 2 summers of my life.
