Great car! Love the idea! Actually the Toyota VVT-I engines are fully variable, not just on/off cam control systems. They have spool valves at the back (AZ) or the front (ZZ) of the engine's head that is responsible for the control. Range is 40° crank angle. It’s because of the way the awd system works. WRX’s need a different style driving to take advantage of the awd system. In WRX’s you need to setup corners to have the whole car in a slight powerslide throttling the power to obtain the perfect exit. Where the RAV4 will be more forgiving because it is front wheel biased giving the driver big error margins if the weight transfer is not correct.
@@VanquishGlory First and second generation Rav4s have 50/50 3 differential AWD systems the same as the Celica GT4, the difference is it's built like an SUV and it can take more of a beating than a stock WRX which has tiny suspension components and no ground clearance in comparison. ethanol is cool for tuning and power, but it would be fair to say it has some serious drawbacks, especially when you dont drive your car often. It settles down and decomposes in a bad way in your tank and lines after some time, can clog up your lines, it draws water in and causes corrosion of everything that can corrode, it dissolves some rubber parts etc.

Part of the power magic on the K series is how well the factory head flows and to a lesser extent the intake as well. They are certainly strong but it's the volumetric efficiency that lets the turbo multiply power enough to take advantage of that strength
