    Do you have tight hips? This 45 minute yin yoga class will help you stretch out and relieve tension in your hips, low back, glutes and inner thighs.
    I'll take you through some of my favorite hip opening yoga stretches to help you improve flexibility. Yin yoga is a wonderful practice for your hips so I really hope you enjoy this one. Some of the yoga poses can be a bit intense so make sure you have plenty of props around you.
    What is Yin Yoga? Yin yoga is often called the Yoga of the joints because unlike other styles of yoga, the emphasis is not on the muscles but on the deep connective tissue. Connective tissue is made up of fascia, ligaments and tendons which surround and form your joints. Yin yoga improves the range of motion in your joints and also strengthens them. The results and benefits are more flexibility and greater range of motion and also more stability within your joints. Although your muscles will also be stretched, that is not the focus of the practice. It is best to practice yin yoga while your muscles are cold and NOT warmed up, even if that sounds counter intuitive. The reason we do this is so that we can send the "stress" and the "Stretch" to the connective tissues. If the muscles are warm they will steal the focus away from the joints.
    There are 3 principles of Yin Yoga.
    1. Find your edge
    2. Be still
    3. Hold the pose
    Use as many props as needed in Yin Yoga! Blocks, bolsters and straps are all great ways to support your body to make sure you are respecting your edge and not going too far.

      I was experiencing knee discomfort in zazen so I was delighted to find this deep stretch series for hips and knees. Was perfect. Definitely the deepest I've ever gotten into reclined butterfly.

    This session was so hard. I thought at on point I was gonna pull something lol but my muscles are just super tight. After I was done I felt loose as a goose and ran to the bathroom lol this was amazing.

    I've been doing yin yoga on my usual yoga app for the last month or so, so wasn't sure whether to expect anything vastly different from your practice.
    It's mostly been different names e.g I know reclined pigeon as figure four pose, and your winged dragon was like lizard pose with a twist. But what I did appreciate about your variation was that you actively rotate the leg outwards, rather than just turning the foot out.
    I also like the flow from that in to pigeon/swan pose.
    Using the yoga block to support your head is another thing my app doesn't do, so that's nice to know.

    As always a great yin class! I practice yin yoga (almost) every evening and it truely works his magic on me. It calms me down afther a long day and time flies by; even for the hardest poses like frog pose.

    This is such a great video! It’s intense but I need it to be! I have very tight hips! I sit majority of the day for my job then workout that consist of squats. Sometimes my hips are so tight feel like my legs are going to rip off! My hips are soooo tight! Tight hips cause my lower back to flare up also 😫

    Where did you get the tee shirt? I love your yin classes, always feel so good after. I love that you don't talk very much and your music is low and in the background. Don't know why so many yoga instructors today are playing top 40 music in class. Just seems counter productive. Good thing I have your classes to do at home and the variety is amazing.
