Congrats on the new Datejust. I bought my first Rolex Datejust at 30 years old in the early 90s. 36mm stainless steel with white gold fluted bezel, silver dial on jubilee bracelet. I wore that watch to work every day for 20 years before retiring it. Just a classic watch and one that will serve for just about anything you want to do. Wear it in good health.
Thats really cool! Appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment.
@Supercruze Hi! Pardon the curiosity - why did you “retire” it? Did you decide to start wearing a different watch now?
I bought my first Datejust in June and plan on wearing it all the time. I have the azuro dial on the jubilee, smooth bezel.
I regret I sold my 36mm SS with white gold fluted bezel a year ago as I just don’t wear it enough. That’s why I will never sell my 15 years old+ SS Daytona white dial and 40mm SeaDweller. Not gonna make the same mistake again.
I got a 1989 S/S Rolex datejust about 25 years ago from a dealer in Londons Hatton Garden. It was a 1989 watch with papers, no box. I p/x my Tudor wind up & paid £700 on top, i think i got a good deal, & the watch will be with me till they screw down the lid!
Congrats to your DateJust and thanks for the nice review, you really bring over the passion and love you have for this watch. I have the same model with the slate dial and can absolutely comprehend the way you felt once you had it on your wrist the first time.
Thanks very much for the kind comment! Glad you enjoyed the review
Congrats on the Rolex. I just walked into my AD and picked one up with oyster and smooth bezel. I paid RRP for it too. The high shine of the bezel complements the shine of the areas on the oyster bracelet. It's extremely elegant and fantastic for the hubby's first Rolex. Note - I was offered as a walk-in because I've previously bought 2 others from my AD. Wear yours in great health.
Great review. It’s nice to see you’ve got your grail watch and you’re thrilled with it. Health to wear and enjoy for many years to come.
This is a beautiful watch, and I appreciate the reality you bring, plus all the information you give. I have been partial to the 36mm in the same configuration but with a blue dial, but have to say - the green is spectacular. Congratulations on your purchase!
Thanks for watching!
I just bought this exact configuration and this video was a big reason why. The Green Dial, Smooth Bezel, and Jubilee Bracelet make for a clean and sophisticated timepiece that can be worn on all occasions. Congrats on your purchase and I'm excited to be joining you. Take care!
Thanks for watching and I’m interested to know what you think when you get it!
3:53 That smile when you got the exact configuration you wanted 😄. Congrats on your purchase! Your procrastination reminds me of myself aiming for the 2021 Speedmaster Professional and then falling in love with the newly released blue dial Speedmaster 57... the heart wants what it wants 😉
That blue dial speedy does look awesome!
One of the best rolex reviews! Full of honesty and personal story behind it, especially the financing bit. Thank you!
So happy for you, my man! Congratulations! That’s an amazing watch!
The Datejust are an Iconic Rolex . Purchased mine in December 2019 . Luckily the dealer had the model I want at another but
Branch . Took 3 days to arrive , still my favourite watch in my procession .
I’ve had my steel datejust on jubilee since 1987. Daily wear from 87-08. Still going strong. Now it’s on rotation with a steel sub.
Absolutely stunning piece and great to hear about your experience, my budget isn't there quite there for a Rolex, but nice to hear the tips for shopping for one and refreshing to hear of an easy experience to pick one up.
Cheers!
Stunning! I’m on the list for the same watch but with the fluted bezel. I 100% agree no photos or videos do the green justice! Great video
Yep 100%
I got the call on Monday! Picked it up yesterday! It’s sooooooo nice!
@@CasualWatchReviews how much with the fluted bezel
thanks for great review. For sure smooth bezel is much better for daily use since fluted one is very shiny for some meetings, also fluted one does not reflect dial color as it deserves. well done choice, I am on the list of AD for same piece
Just picked up mine with exactly the same configuration. Waited almost 1 year exactly from my AD which was fine for me. Love it 👌🏼
Beautiful watch, and very enjoyable to listen to your review. Keep it up
Beautiful watch. I have recently acquired a 36mm black face DJ on the oyster bracelet that I prefer. For me I entirely agree that this is an iconic design. I loved the information about the internal mechanism. The DJ suits people of all ages. Simple but classy in every respect.
Yep 100%
Simplicity is key
I usually prefer fluted bezels with the jubilee bracelet, but I think this configuration has changed my mind
I am not a fan of Rolex watches BUT this is the best one I have ever seen. Beautiful. Love the color of that dial. Green dial. The simplicity of the whole watch is nice. Nice purchase!
Thanks for watching and commenting! Totally agree of course 😂
I love the date just. I have a 41 blue face date just on jubilee bracelet and fluted bezel. I appreciate it every time I wear it and like you took a while to save.. I think that makes me appreciate it more.. well done on the Green. It’s stunning
Hey Warren! Thanks for watching!
Congrats, love the mint green dial. I also own a DJ41 - a classic, timeless design, robust and highly accurate - plus it is the first watch I've owned where I can actually read the date!
Hey Danny, cheers for watching!
congratulations on your new watch, this was a captivating video. i can hear from how narrate the story on how much this means to you. lovely video
Really appreciate you watching, yep I’m a big fan of this watch!
Congratulations on your purchase, it’s a great watch. Datejust was my first Rolex - will never forget the day I first received it. Enjoy!!
Thanks for watching!!
Love the review. Thank you for the transparency. I've had great experiences shopping at the Mall at Millennia so will consider their Mayors store for future purchases. Currently on the wait list for 2 models at the Mayors in Sarasota, and I can't say I've had the same experience you had.
Hey Nico, sorry to hear that. I’m not sure if it’s Orlando but Mayors has one list. So not sure if that means they have more allocation with Rolex. Maybe you could ask them?
I absolutely love mine. I have the same exact watch except with the Oyster bracelet. I love both bracelets. Love, love, love the mint green dial. Pure Rolex perfection.
So cool!
That's an incredible looking dial, congrats on your purchase!
I've always wanted a Rolex Submariner. I saved up almost all of my wage each month (im a student who still lives at home which is how I was able to do that) and went to look at watches to buy myself for my 21st birthday in September of 2021. I ended up going into to Rolex Boutique in Glasgow and asked to get put on the waiting list for a few watches not expecting anything to come of it. I ended up getting a phone call less than 2 months later with my representative at the boutique to say that someone had pulled out of buying a DateJust 41 (blue dial, smooth bezel, and jubilee bracelet) and they offered it to me since it was for my 21st birthday. I went to see it and fell in love with it instantly. I feel like the DateJust doesn't get the appreciation it deserves until its actually seen in person. I actually think I prefer it to the submariner now because its not bulky like a dive watch is and it looks incredible in any setting. Definitely never getting rid of it. Brilliant buying experience with my representative whereas some of the other watch stores didn't take me seriously because of my age which was a bit off putting.
Cheers for posting that Peter, really cool!
Congrats, I went for the two tone yellow gold with the fluted bezel and the silver dial. Totally in love with the watch. ( love the mint dial btw )
Great review. I have an appointment this coming weekend to put my name down for a datejust. I’m glad I’ve seen the green dial on here as pics on the site make it look very different
Hey Andrew. Yes it’s really hard to capture just how the dial changes in the light. Between silver and green. I love the look. Thanks for watching.
Great review with really good presentation of the watch. Subscribed!
Welcome to the channel Ross!
That's my favorite configuration as well. It's beautiful - congratulations.
Yep totally agree.
Congrats dude. Nice video. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Hey thanks!
I love how you really go into depth on the user experience! I would love to see how you would compare the fit, finish and build quality of this vs a Christopher Ward diver. Planning on getting an Aquitaine GMT as my grail for now.
Cheers, appreciate you watching!
how Rolex compares to Christopher Ward? really?
Amazing, looking to get one for myself. Love the mint green color!
Absolutely fabulous watch 👍 thanks good review
Absolutely stunning. That green dial is something special. I'm going to buy a Grand Seiko soon, but when the time is right, I plan/hope to get one day. The day I will proudly wear it in good faith without any need for reservations :)
Just bought this for my wife , only waited 8 weeks . Bought from goldsmiths U.K. with no purchase history . They told me wait time could be up to 2 years . Turned up 2 months later . The wife loves it !
Oh great, yep I’m still living this one!
Bravo. Stellar watch. I hope things cool off enough with Rolex at some point that I can actually walk into an AD and purchase something like this. I truly do want three different models of Rolex, but the hype causing inflated prices and other associated issues in purchasing recently have me not even bothering. You did very well, and it's a fine watch. Cheers mate.
I think it will!
I bought the same watch through the AD and paid retail. Absolutely love it and Tourneau Bucherer is the best (and largest) dealer to buy from.
I recently got the same watch with the oyster bracelet. Even though the configuration I wanted was with the jubilee.
Once I saw that dial and tried it, was love at first sight.
Great video
Yep, its amazing in person the dial
Congrats Sam! Enjoy it to the fullest.
Hey cheers! Thanks for watching
Great video I enjoyed it thoroughly. Enjoy your new watch.
Thanks for watching!
Congratulations on the purchase. I was lucky enough to walk into an AD and buy the 36mm version (with fluted bezel) without a waitlist back in June. I restrict myself to one ‘luxury watch’ and if I’m going to spend this much on a watch it needs to get 90% of my wrist time. As amazing as the watch was, unfortunately the ‘blinginess’ didn’t suit me and I don’t like the attention that the watch brought (this watch got more glances in 2 months than any others have in my 6 years of watch collecting!). The secondary value of the watch was the final nail in the coffin for the watch as I just couldn’t justify having such an expensive piece (even if I paid RRP). Sold it and bough bought a 114270 for half the price.
I also have 114270, excellent everyday watch,go anywhere do anything😊
This is the comment that I'd not want to hear but exactly pin-point ''the question mark in my mind''. Fluted bezel is so nice that, I can not convince myself to buy smooth. On the other hand, here is your comment. I'm stuck :)
Im def going to save up for this model! Beautiful! Congrats
congratulations on your date just. im looking for the exact same model but open to dial colour. looks great enjoy
I actually never thought I liked the date just but after this. I was wrong. Beautiful watch. Thanks.
I felt the same way about the cyclops. However, after seeing it in person, I feel the cyclops is an important part of Rolex watches and in my opinion, does not take away from the beauty of the watch. I just received my DJ 41 black. Its a beautiful watch.
Oh yep the black is nice also!
Good review. Very nice watch and I love that Green dial. Good combo. I sold my Rhodium Dial DJ2 with white gold flute, 3 years ago. I have missed it ever since. I think steel DJ's are very good looking and versatile.
Yep totally agree!
Congratulations, and thanks for sharing your experience.
Thank you for watching Vince!
I am on the (long) waiting list for a DateJust, and I have both the green and blue motif on order to test out both. I’m starting to think the smooth blue dial may be the best looking.
And of course, I’ve ordered both on jubilee with fluted bezel. What colour should I go for? I like the blue motif, but will is still be desirable in years to come? Any advice or help would be really appreciated. Thanks.
I thought about waiting until late 2022 or next year to get the mint green DJ41, and also gave the (new to me) AD several options of dial color all on Oyster bracelet. When offered the blue dial only 3 days later, I jumped and am glad I did. While the green is stunning in a vacuum, it doesn't match or actually clashes with almost everything I wear.
Yep the blue is a good choice, I was toying with that and the grey. That was why I couldn’t decide! The green really spoke to me!
@@CasualWatchReviews The white dial is so good too!
Well done my friend! I lived a similar experience here in Switzerland at at the Bucherer store of Crans-Montana. The staff was just amazing and made me feel special. I bought my 41 mm mint green dial Datejust last July with the reversed configuration (Oyster bracelet with the other bezel ) and I just love that watch.
Oh great! Yep, still really loving the look of those one.
@@CasualWatchReviews I’m dreaming of getting your version with the blue dial 🤭
Congrats! my family and I got my dad a Rolex from that same Orlando boutique and they were fantastic with us too
Wow amazing video, defo made the right choice on the mint green dial 👍
The only thing I would add is the fluted bezel to make it more shine.
Just a quick question did you have any previous purchase history with the Rolex AD?
Hey HL, yes I had bought a OP before, but that was it really, that was about 12 months prior.
Datejust is the best Rolex very classy and will never go out of style, thanks ❤️👍🏴
I never considered a date just until this video, the rubber strap really changes it and could be a suitable substitute for the Explorer which I covet
That dial color is beautiful, great choice and excellent review!
Thanks for watching!
Youve given me hope. I live less than an hour from Millenia. I think ill make my way over and check out the AD. Of course ill have to wait longer since i want a Sub or GMT
Absolutely beautiful. That dial color is perfection. Enjoy!
I just bought two from the Caribbean in St. THOMAS. One steel with Jubilee bracelet and blue dial just gorgeous. Second one I purchased was jubilee bracelet, gold and steel with mother of pearl face and diamond markers. I love the size at 41 mm as I have a larger rest I like it better than the day date, which is only 40 mm to SMALL.
You have a stunning watch there. I really like the smooth bezel/Jubilee bracelet combination. Classic watch. Great choice. Congratulations.
Thank you kindly
That mint green is unreal. I prefer the fluted bezel but smooth is clean
Everyone wants the fluted.
@@mark_n_r yea well ADs hate to give them out so I get settling
The mint green is incredible!
Great video! Where did you buy the rubber band?
It’s from a company called ‘Rubber B’ although I found this one on ebay
Congrats, beautiful watch, have the same one in size 31 and love it.
I received my first Rolex, 10/17/23 blue dial smooth bezel, oyster Datejust from AD , 11 months wait time , very happy to own it, 8050.00 plus tax 6% , great vid .
Great to hear!
wow it is certainly beautiful, idk why but I just have such a big thing for green dials, hopefully I can get one just like this one day
This passes the test. My wife doesn’t give an f about watches and the only Rolex she ever thought looked good was the platinum Daytona. She liked this with the mint green dial. Beautiful watch. Well done: great video
Cheers Jacob,Thanks for watching!
Congrats. Great watch but more importantly, you love it. Thanks for sharing the experience.
Cheers for watching Graham!
Great video & congratulations on the purchase!
Thanks for watching!
Great reviews, DJ41 is really something :)
Cheers for watching!
Beautiful watch mate stunning I've had my interest registered for a rhodium dial date just and just bought an OP 41mm silver dial yesterday it's beautiful
I think the Rhodium/slate dial would have been my second choice
It's lovely, but just imagine the Sky Dweller in that configuration... wow!!
So happy for you. It does mean alot more to save up for some as opposed to being a top ten tennis player who just gifted them
The mint green dial is spectacular!!
I just received the phone call from my AD for the DJ 41 in the same identical configuration! Tomorrow I'm going to pick it up. I'm really looking forward to it!
Oh thats great! You won’t be disappointed!
@@CasualWatchReviews your video absolutely convinced me to take it without the flute bezel. I was really surprised when I received the phone call today, as I had to wait for less than three months to actually receive the watch.
Thank a lot for your great videos and greetings from Switzerland.
I just bought the exact same configuration - rolex watch 2023 :) luv the colour
I signed up to the waitlist yesterday for the blue dial and the mint green datejust 36mm, I didn't specify the bracelet. I got told that I should have it in a few months. Also joined the waitlist for the 36mm Explorer with the waiting times expected to be 24 months.
I bought my wife an Omega Constellation from Mayors at Altamont springs ,I also love the store at the Florida mall ,I bought my chocolate dial with oyster bracelet it’s a beautiful watch ,thanks ❤️🏴👍
I really like the smooth bezel now that I look closely at your watch. I have several Datejusts with the fluted bezel but now I see the charm of the smooth look instead. Now I want one!!!!
Smooth bezel and jubile are the best combination for the DJ41 🤩
The fluted is so iconic, but I really like the smooth!
Great watch, that green color is absolutely stunning. I am interested in where you got the custom made green rubber band. I own an explorer reference 124270 and want to swap band to rubber but can’t find a good one.
Hey Erwin, the brand is ‘Rubber B’
That's my local AD. They're amazing. Tim is my guy there one of the nicest people in the business. Very nice purchase congratulations
Hey Sam! Yep Tim actually sized this for me. Cool guy.
congrats on your new watch! look very nice the mint green. i hv ordered the black dial, still contemplate to change or not...
For me I think black would have been my last choice. Just for taste. Probably would have been mint green, green motif dial, blue motif dial, blue, grey, white then probably the black l.
Personally, I love the Datejust, and that configuration you have is stunning. Not sure about it being an "investment," but they should hold good value if cared for and kept with their original box and papers.
Hey! Thanks for watching, interesting point but I would consider and investment to be something that appreciates in value, and so far it’s still trading well above what I paid.
@@CasualWatchReviews very good point. I actually hadn't realized how much the datejust ii's had appreciated recently. Very good get on your part! Thanks for replying!
@@CasualWatchReviews Prices go by cycles but rolex is a sure value
I bought a Datejust new 2 yrs ago for £6500 and just sold it for £8000
Congrats... beautiful spec. My wife has exactly the same model but with fluted bezel in 36mm. It looks gorgeous
Oh yep, it’s such a good looking watch! Your wife must be very happy!
Hi, great video and have actually ordered the same watch ! The green rubber strap really suits it and I was just wondering coukd you please let me know what site you got that strap from? Thank you very much
Hi Mark it’s made by a company called ‘Rubber B’
Very nice. Did not really have an interest in this model before … but in the mint green color, I think it is really nice. This green is visually more appealing than the green that is featured on the OP.
Yes, I was exactly the same. I quite liked the grey but hot enough to buy! The green pushed me over the edge!
Looks spectacular! Wondering where can I find a green band like yours?
It’s a rubber B one, Although I snagged this one on eBay. rubberb.com/en/rolex-watch-band-products/strap-for-rolex-datejust-41-tang-buckle-series?selected-color=230
I just put my order in today for one almost exactly like yours. The only difference is that I went with a blue face. CONGRATS!!!!
Great, mine took just over three months so fingers crossed!
I like the smooth bezel for the 41 and fluted on the 36. Definitely jubilee for both.
I love the date just, it's my favorite Rolex.
I am in Orlando, havent had a chance to visit their AD. Hats off to them for keeping it retail pricing.
Hey Anthony, the actual ADs can’t mark them up or else they are in hot water with Rolex so you can buy in confidence you're getting the best price from them.
Such a nice guy - a true watch lover!
Great video! Really starting to love the look of this watch more and more.
Losing value on a watch feels like throwing away money. There are billions of people on this world and a lot of them aren't fortunate enough to buy a watch like this. Money we spend on watches is the same money they could change their lives with. And it's a great to know that some of that hard earned money of ours is donated back to society. Which helps a bit in justifying to spend that kind of money on a watch. Because let's be honest a watch doesn't really serve a purpose other than telling time and giving people enjoyment.
Yep, actually there is not enough talked about the Rolex foundations charitable pursuits. Maybe I will make a video on it
Beautiful piece!!!Enjoy!!!
The Dial Mint Green was xtra elegant to bring the watch to another level. which for me, i love Greenery and wearing these colour make me more attach me to Nature. I just bought same model but mine is Rhodium Dial. its stil a fantastic watch and i love it so much on my wrist is a perfect match on all occasion.
Totally agree!
Always feels great to feel close to nature! This or a submariner in green/black……. Either would be epic to wear. Just have to decide between the two. Enjoy!
Lucky chap. I've recently put myself on an interest list for the 36mm Datejust with Mint Green Dial but, in my case it's the steel and White Gold model I'm seeking. This is in addition to my current collection of a Submariner 'Hulk' and a GMTII 'Pepsi'. To me it's an absolute classic and although not a sought after as some SS Sports models that I own, it'll certainly stand the test of time - it's a watch you can wear from age 18 to 80; an absolute beauty and made better imho, by the mint green face. Thanks for the review.
Still very happy with it! Thanks for watching!
The datejust, blue dial, fluted bezel was my first Rolex, I feel guilty for not wearing it as much as I should after landing a Sub and a Skydweller. Still waiting on a green sub.
I just got my 42mm yacht master in white gold from the mayors AD in Tampa about 2 weeks ago! Congrats!
Oh cool, I really like that one also. Congratulation!
Love it.
I bought the same one but in 36mm last month. Beautiful.
