It’s 39mm. And it has a similar look to the Explorer, which you like? I think they’ll release a Moonphase version soon enough. All the best.
ROLEX is a statement-either you appreciate it or you don't; choose to invest in what you love. I own a Deepsea James Cameron, even though I have no fondness for the ocean. When I wear it, I embrace the powerful aesthetics it represents.
You are a man of taste :-). I went with the black/green Milgauss as my first Rolex specifically *because* it’s weird and wacky, and the oddball of the lineup (IMO). And it’s beautiful. My only negative is the green tint makes it slightly harder to read than a clear crystal would do.
Great video. I'm not really a watch guy but I do find them interesting. And while I do watch videos about them here and there, I still don't know much about them. This was a cool video with a lot of interesting info about the different Rolex models. Thank you for making the video. With that said, I stand by my original judgement that the Rolex Daytona is still my favorite watch of all time. Good luck with the channel.
Brilliant video review ❤ ( had to subscribe) unfortunately you hate my Rolex portfolio, sky dweller, deepsea, and yacht master 11! (I love a bigger watch) but that’s ok we all different and have personal preferences 😊
LOVE my YM 40 Rhodium (wearing it now), LOVE my Sub 16610 (rarely wear it), LOVE my Cellini white gold on black alligator, LOVE my DJ36 Jubilee black railroad “Bill Murray,” LOVE my GMTII Pepsi ceramic (wear it often). Would like an Explorer II Polar. My everyday watch right now (especially when sailing) is my new Tudor Pelagos FXD MN - perfect for water sports and a tool watch I actually use. Lastly, I LOVE Casio Pathfinder (blue on blue cloth strap). Been wearing that bad boy for a LONG time
I have had my DateJust 16234 in Steel and White Gold since 2002. I wear it everyday infact i hardly ever take it off. It hasn't missed a beat since i got it and really have no plans to change it. So i would have to rank this top of the tier basically based on me being biased towards it. But if i could i would like to have a DayDate as well, thats my favourite Rolex.
Batman for me. Tried many GMTs and Subs. Own a Batman, it always rekindle my love for GMT (2 tone bezel) when I look at it. The contrast is much more “alive”. With the half black bezel it brings me class and earnest. Another half blue bezel brings me fun and inner joy through the good times as well as the bad. Most importantly I can wear it formal and informal. 🖤💙
Wonderful..thank you for your review, excellent! The long long history of Rolex maintaining their qualities and standard tho, according to many sources I read & this review are incredible..thank you for the list 👍
Fair enough as it's your opinion 👌 ... I would defo put Yachtmasters' range above the Sub range just because to me... Subs are boring over hyped. Everyone's has one 😂 That is one of the reasons why I got the YM Rhodium dial instead of a black sub date. The fit and finish are actually better for my wrist 🤌 Plus, who wears a sub to actually go diving in this day and age is mainly to flex, so ya might as well get a Yachtmaster 😂😂😂
Well modern Rolex as said isn’t my thing I like vintage, but I understand! I find sporty stuff not quite me I’m more of a dressy person because I generally dress quite formally As for the diving part let’s be honest everyone looking for 200-300m of water resistance doesn’t actually need any more than 100m most of the time xD
@WatchConnoisseurClub Fair enough I understand 👍.. yeh my lifestyle is more sporty or street wear clothes dont tend to wear formal clothes 🤣 For diving I just wear a Gshock or nothing at all plus as what you said never mind 100 meters 10 to 20 meter dive/swim is enough 🤣🤣🤣
Great content, just a small comment, sir Edmund Hillary had the Rolex explorer with him when he reached the summit except he didn't have it on his wrist, by his own acknowledgment he was actually wearing a British watch (Smiths)
Yup! Never said it was first to the summit or anything, I just said it was designed for the climb of Mount Everest! But absolutely correct, also as a British lad I actually own a couple smiths, mainly a smiths empire and a 9ct smiths de-luxe with some lovely patina! Gorgeous dress piece
Can’t beat gold polished Roman numerals that sparkle like jewels in the sunlight. Loving the sun ray dial man that pops!MAMACOO watches. What a beautiful subtle piece.
You’re right, your opinion is absolute and just! My sub (124060) is my favorite watch and my wife loves her 1991 gold Datejust with Champagne dial, diamond index, gold jubilee bracelet. Two absolute classics! Great video!
Whahahaha! I kinda like the Yatchmaster but I dont like the YM2 at all. Not a lot of watches I would actually buy or want to own but I think the Milgauss and the Explorer. You are right about the Milgauss though. Overpriced for what it is. Hope you have a great day!
And you lad! Have a good one :) You’ve been my loyal for a while, what do you think about the editing of having a watch on screen with me, think it’s better then just me talking? Also I don’t hate the ym1, but I don’t get the point of it when the sun is better, fits the same categories and is cheaper, that’s all Anyways have a good one lad! Another vid coming soon :)

The 2 I like the most is the Datejust and 1908. Yellow gold and black dial and strap looks classy to me. Eh. Everyone’s entitled to their opinions. Great video 👍
I agree with you. I have 5 Rolex and they are in the top of your list. I would add also that Daytona steel version is in my opinion better that full gold or gold/steel. For GMTII I prefer the "Pepsi version" with Jubilee bracelet. Explorer I (steel version) is one of my favorites. Datejust is perfect in steel with roman numbers and white gold bezel..
Lot of good opinions- I agree with almost all - however remember everyone (luckily) has different and unique tastes. Nobody can beat the GMT Master 2 in steel - Because I have one 💪
The Seadweller Deap is my fav. The Sub looks tiny on me, I'm 6'3" and anything under 42mm looks like it was made for someone else when it's on my wrist. In any case, your view on these watches seem pretty valid to me, nice work. We have totally different perspectives on watches I think, I only do tool watches, mostly diving. I want engineering and masculinity if it's on my wrist, beauty, but not elegance.
Have to say, I agree 💯 with every position on your tier list! Well done sir - impeccable taste 😊 especially loved your assessment of the SeaDweller and Deepsea - they are pointless. The Submariner is just better proportioned, better looking and no matter how fat or tall you are, the modern ones do not look small on anyone!
It matches exactly with if I’ve made my own ranking video. What I really loved is your bold approach of cancelling some heavy names despite RUclipsrs promoting them a lot! 👌🏽
AMZWATCH is one of my favorite watch manufacturers they do offer beautifull dials, good workmanship & moovements. That smooth sweeping second hand is truly mesmerizing!
I had an Explorer and loved it! I walked to lunch with my hands in my pockets (never a good idea), tripped, and landed square on the Rolex. It smashed the crystal. Working for a jeweler at the time, I never heard the end of it. "It made it to the top of Mt Everest, and you managed to break it"😅
Great video, lots of interesting information on every watch. I also agree with basically all of your ranking choices. I think the Submariner is the ultimate icon of watches. I just think that maybe the "incredible" category should have been placed above the "classy" in the table.
What a cool video, thank you. Great background about the watches. Everyone has to make his up his own mind about these models. Personal taste obv is not universal and a simple blind copy and paste of your tier list certainly is neither helpful nor as you stated your intention. But someone with knowledge and taste like you definitely has me thinking where I differ my my opinion and why it differs. Really enjoyed your video - looking forward for more
Good vlog...I agree with most of your ratings...the only one which never appealed to me is the Daytona...and I would put the GMT into the grail section...I own 4 Rolex and I love them all...I have some other watches but none beats Rolex on their precision...
Totally agree with your list although personally I would rate Milgauss and airking as slightly better than “It’s OK”..Honestly Explorer, OP and date just are the ones which most can afford and will settle in for😂
Dear Rudi, I think I will agree with your choices, having owned a 1016 Explorer since 1973, I believe it is the most beautiful in my opinion......I do feel they really downgraded the look when they reintroduced......51 years and still loving the old gal....by the way, Ian Fleming based James Bond's Rolex on the Explorer and also owned and wore one himself...... Bravo, Paul in Florida
Well, as you said, your personal list. Mine is so much different. You rate the GMT Master II as incredible, I think, that's- like all the subs and divers things you see at every corner. For me, it's THE Grail, next to the Day-Date. And the Daytona? For Rolex, it's an unbelievable success while I think the world can live without it. The true grail in the chronograph world is the Speedmaster anyway...
Even though the Sea Dweller is big, it’s the most comfortable watch I’ve ever worn. It works well for me. I always wanted a Milgauss for the green crystal. Had a GMT II and it WAS a great travel watch. Wish I still had it. Would argue that the Navitimer is the world's most recognizable chronograph.
Enjoyed the video. How many of these have you actually owned? Having ridden this rock around the sun for a few years, I have leaned that one’s opinion changes with time and maturity; and also with familiarity. Actually owning and wearing a few of these watches for a few years, might change your opinion. Fair enough?
Well as it’s Rolex the finishing and reliability are top notch - so all the watches are very good. The worst Rolex is still a Rolex, as for the first part I have owned a few not for a long period (I grey market deal with friends) and for those I haven’t owned I have either personally handled friends stock, or asked owners personally! I’m sure if I wore one of them more often it would move up, but for now that’s not the case
13:25 I must take umbrage with some of your selections. I think you struck out with two outs and the bases loaded with respect to two watches: First, the Yachtmaster with platinum bezel, blue dial and red second hand is gorgeous; and Second, the James Cameron Deep Sea is striking and one-of-a-kind. The Day/Date is very dated and stodgy and I almost never see them worn anymore. The only reason to get one is because it comes it all gold. You obviously have a personal bias for the simple, cleaner and smaller looking models (like the 36mm you mentioned which is why you are not keen on the larger Sea Dweller). One note about the Submariner: I agree it is iconic but it highly copied and difficult to distinguish from a good fake. The 50th anniversary with green dial is a better choice but difficult to find.
Bought a GMT in 1968. 1st year in grad school. Making $400/month. Not because of Mr. Bond, but because of Ms. Galore. I never thought anyone could replace her, until I saw Mrs. Peel driving her Lotus. My 2nd and 3rd choices - Cartier Tank, Patek Philippe Calatrava. And my sentimental favorite - given to me by my father - Gruen 21 Precision, 335, Park Avenue
One thing i have come to appreciate with Rolex,is that just about every watch they make, apart from the cellini line, have a family resemblance. The lug profiles and case backs are all very similar.
I’ve got a Grail (Daytona), Classy (Datejust 2) and Incredible (GMT2)….but I subbed the Sub for a Palagos39 because it’s less chunky..and want to move on to a Ew No (Yacht master 40 blue dial) because I think it’s quite handsome. More importantly it will allow me to close the Rolex segment of the collection and move on in my watch journey.
Pretty good ranking. I’m more tolerant of the 1908 and less enamored of stopwatches, but overall not bad. And I’m guessing you don’t own the Explorer II Polar. Not just a GMT, but a fine all rounder.
Back in 1991 I bought a brand new Rolex datejust it is the best watch I ever owned it just recently stopped running after 33 years. I just recently put it in the shop to get it fixed I really think it's worth getting fixed it's a wonderful watch. Hopefully it'll last me another 33 years without breaking down.
As for the Air-King, I think it depends and is not neccesarily worse than an Oyster Perp or Explorer I. Those two are better if you pick a beautiful more rare version (like a green dial) but if you are going for the plain jane basic steel over black versions I'd rather have the AK
To each their own! Just an opinion lad, but that completely fair, all Rolex are well made with robust and reliable movements, I just dislike the ym personally is all
I’m a scuba instructor and have the sliver Submariner, which I wear almost everyday and love. However I don’t like the gold Submariner. It over the top and warned by people that are showing off and not real scuba divers.
Something never mentioned is that Seadwellers are incredible if you engage in extreme watersports, such as surfing, cliffdiving, whitewater, etc. Its not so much that you will be going so deep, but the extreme pressure spikes you will experience, as well as the higher chance to get hit pretty hard. Ive broken multiple Subs, but never a Seadweller, and for that, its my favourite.
I have a 70's Date Just and Air King. I prefer the 70's and 80's looking watches. I like a new Datejust with a smooth bezel and the Oyster Perpetual. I'm not into gold or diamonds. I really want a titanium. If you get 10 people under 30, 10 between 30-50, and 10 over 50....you'll get a lot of different opinions. We all have our likes and dislikes. Good review.

ROLEX is a statement-either you appreciate it or you don't; choose to invest in what you love. I own a Deepsea James Cameron, even though I have no fondness for the ocean. When I wear it, I embrace the powerful aesthetics it represents.
The Milgauss is the only Rolex I'd get, it's weird and wacky but very unique. It's fun.
Not just a bit unique then 😂
You are a man of taste :-). I went with the black/green Milgauss as my first Rolex specifically *because* it’s weird and wacky, and the oddball of the lineup (IMO). And it’s beautiful. My only negative is the green tint makes it slightly harder to read than a clear crystal would do.
Nice job ! I enjoyed the presentation and agreed with most. Keep up the good work !
Outstanding video.I have to go with the MAMACOO, especially with that green dial as my favorite
Brilliant video review ❤ ( had to subscribe) unfortunately you hate my Rolex portfolio, sky dweller, deepsea, and yacht master 11! (I love a bigger watch) but that’s ok we all different and have personal preferences 😊
Exactly! Nothing wrong with that, if we all liked the same thing it’d be pretty boring wouldn’t it?
Love your channel with so many stellar watches! For me the MAMACOO’ watch is my favorite. Keep the videos coming. Thanks.
Well, that’s pretty accurate to my taste. Wearing my 36 mm Explorer right now. Cheers!
Perfect watch, enjoy it!
Daydate is my fave too, especially vintage stone dials!
Own a Batman too, and I fully agree.
Would do you think of the datejust in 36mm with a black Diamond dial, fluted bezel, and jubilee bracelet. Where would you rank that
top
Nice one, and that's close to what I myself think ... I've always loved the Day-Date look, since I was a kid.
Wonderful..thank you for your review, excellent! The long long history of Rolex maintaining their qualities and standard tho, according to many sources I read & this review are incredible..thank you for the list 👍
Great recap. Loved the review.
Fair enough as it's your opinion 👌 ... I would defo put Yachtmasters' range above the Sub range just because to me... Subs are boring over hyped. Everyone's has one 😂
That is one of the reasons why I got the YM Rhodium dial instead of a black sub date. The fit and finish are actually better for my wrist 🤌
Plus, who wears a sub to actually go diving in this day and age is mainly to flex, so ya might as well get a Yachtmaster 😂😂😂
Well modern Rolex as said isn’t my thing I like vintage, but I understand! I find sporty stuff not quite me I’m more of a dressy person because I generally dress quite formally
As for the diving part let’s be honest everyone looking for 200-300m of water resistance doesn’t actually need any more than 100m most of the time xD
@WatchConnoisseurClub Fair enough I understand 👍.. yeh my lifestyle is more sporty or street wear clothes dont tend to wear formal clothes 🤣
For diving I just wear a Gshock or nothing at all plus as what you said never mind 100 meters 10 to 20 meter dive/swim is enough 🤣🤣🤣
Agree with your take on every watch. Well done mate
OMG you are so honest mate , great ob love it
Great content, just a small comment, sir Edmund Hillary had the Rolex explorer with him when he reached the summit except he didn't have it on his wrist, by his own acknowledgment he was actually wearing a British watch (Smiths)
Yup! Never said it was first to the summit or anything, I just said it was designed for the climb of Mount Everest! But absolutely correct, also as a British lad I actually own a couple smiths, mainly a smiths empire and a 9ct smiths de-luxe with some lovely patina! Gorgeous dress piece
The Sky Dweller is much prettier in person and looks great with beautiful proportions. Should tank much higher!
Agreed..
Videos don't do any of these justice
Love your review and presentation.
Much appreciated!
Have a good one :)
You’ve been my loyal for a while, what do you think about the editing of having a watch on screen with me, think it’s better then just me talking? Also I don’t hate the ym1, but I don’t get the point of it when the sun is better, fits the same categories and is cheaper, that’s all
Anyways have a good one lad! Another vid coming soon :)
@@WatchConnoisseurClub I think your videos are awesome man. Your style suits you and the camera work and editing and everything is top notch! I think the images and voice overlay in combination with your face and so on works quite well! I think your channel will grow by leaps and bounds soon enough! Yeah I agree, I dont mind it but I wont buy it. Looking forward to it!

Great video. Liked and subscribed!
Agreed, The deepsea is embarrassing, the Yachtmaster ugly, I have a GMT Master, my grail watch is a Daytona, your ranking is spot on.
Much appreciated!
I dont know many things, but i do know this. Every single rolex fits in one category once its yours - the I love it category.
Completely agree with this
Lot of good opinions- I agree with almost all - however remember everyone (luckily) has different and unique tastes.
What is de best bait and tackle watch for up in da Club?
It matches exactly with if I’ve made my own ranking video.
What I really loved is your bold approach of cancelling some heavy names despite RUclipsrs promoting them a lot! 👌🏽
Perfect list! Datejust is literally the day date but better value.
Very good video.. Amazing, i disagree with milgauss (maybe biased) + i like cellini and i think it deserves a good place (unbiased)
The Rolex Submariner, he said , you can walk with it! Now that's an endorsement!
AMZWATCH is one of my favorite watch manufacturers they do offer beautifull dials, good workmanship & moovements. That smooth sweeping second hand is truly mesmerizing!
I agreed with every watch. I thought it was going to be a crap list, but it wasn’t. Good job.
Ever since I bought a watch from MAMACOO, My question is if it's this hard to tell them apart, what is the point of owning an authentic watch?
Top quality video, a Rolex level
I 100% agree with your ranking 😅
I had an Explorer and loved it! I walked to lunch with my hands in my pockets (never a good idea), tripped, and landed square on the Rolex. It smashed the crystal. Working for a jeweler at the time, I never heard the end of it. "It made it to the top of Mt Everest, and you managed to break it"😅
Spider-Man knows what he is talking about 👍🏻
Great video, lots of interesting information on every watch.
Although I don't agree with all of your choices, I see you put both of my watches in the Classy tier.
Totally agree with your list although personally I would rate Milgauss and airking as slightly better than “It’s OK”..Honestly Explorer, OP and date just are the ones which most can afford and will settle in for😂
Dear Rudi, I think I will agree with your choices, having owned a 1016 Explorer since 1973,
I believe it is the most beautiful in my opinion......I do feel they really downgraded the look
when they reintroduced......51 years and still loving the old gal....by the way, Ian Fleming
based James Bond's Rolex on the Explorer and also owned and wore one himself......
Bravo, Paul in Florida
This was really fun!
I love the sky dweller mint green ❤️👍
Did I miss your ranking of the Rolex Marconi?
Great one. You lokk like you could be the next James Bond
I'm not a huge Rolex fan, but I really like the Yachtmaster 2, although it is on the larger side. My favorite is the Daytona, though; dazzling.
Well done!!!
And my sentimental favorite - given to me by my father - Gruen 21 Precision, 335, Park Avenue
did any of the pussy galores flying circus pilots have a watch on?
One thing i have come to appreciate with Rolex,is that just about every watch they make, apart from the cellini line, have a family resemblance.
The lug profiles and case backs are all very similar.
I’ve got a Grail (Daytona), Classy (Datejust 2) and Incredible (GMT2)….but I subbed the Sub for a Palagos39 because it’s less chunky..and want to move on to a Ew No (Yacht master 40 blue dial) because I think it’s quite handsome. More importantly it will allow me to close the Rolex segment of the collection and move on in my watch journey.
Watched this wearing an Explorer. Feeling classy
Pretty good ranking. I’m more tolerant of the 1908 and less enamored of stopwatches, but overall not bad. And I’m guessing you don’t own the Explorer II Polar. Not just a GMT, but a fine all rounder.
I have a friend that has the red hand one, it’s very nice, but I’m not a fan of the modern ones personally anymore
What about the Cellini?
36mm DJ black face with a smooth bezel on an oyster bracelet for me. Timeless and super comfortable to wear. I’d never be without it.
Underwhelming
Smooth bezel looks.........woeful!
You got it almost 100%… great assessment ..
Haha much appreciated!
this was really fun to watch !
Really appreciate it and glad you enjoyed!
As for the Air-King, I think it depends and is not neccesarily worse than an Oyster Perp or Explorer I. Those two are better if you pick a beautiful more rare version (like a green dial) but if you are going for the plain jane basic steel over black versions I'd rather have the AK
Ok, but do you have personal experience with most, some or any of these?
YM is a fantastic watch, a not boring sub upgrade
To each their own! Just an opinion lad, but that completely fair, all Rolex are well made with robust and reliable movements, I just dislike the ym personally is all
Pretty much agree. I want the oyster perpetual and the explorer. Nothing else caught my eye really.
I’m a scuba instructor and have the sliver Submariner, which I wear almost everyday and love. However I don’t like the gold Submariner. It over the top and warned by people that are showing off and not real scuba divers.
You don't use a dive computer?
@@exnihilo415 How did you come to that conclusion?
"I have a mountain bike." "Oh, you don't have a driver's license?"
@@bloodymarvelous4790 It’s not a conclusion, it is a question. You can dive with or without a dive computer, after all.
best designs in my opinion are the sub and datejust, my favorite are the ones from the 80s/90s
I love your video, many thanks for explanations! Got a date just and fits my personality too!
Datejust is 👌🏼
Which ref, year and dial?
I have a 70's Date Just and Air King. I prefer the 70's and 80's looking watches. I like a new Datejust with a smooth bezel and the Oyster Perpetual. I'm not into gold or diamonds. I really want a titanium. If you get 10 people under 30, 10 between 30-50, and 10 over 50....you'll get a lot of different opinions. We all have our likes and dislikes. Good review.
Lookin good man! Keep it up!
And you my main man
agree with these. nice vid
