      There's no watch dealer of any brand that has what you need. You have what they need. The Rolex game is for truly wealthy people who have given away their power in this bizarre retail microcosm, because they have so much money that it's inconsequential to them. You shouldn't even try to play on their playground, just get an Omega or something.

      The biggest problem is the fact that Rolex AD’s started to sell “pre owned”. They’ll sell it to a friend or a business partner, buy it back ten seconds later and now its considered “pre owned”, and they have the gall to then price it according to the secondary market. To me, that’s even more slimey than the fact that they’re in cahoots with grey dealers. It’s like insider trading (to my brain)

    @Theoriginalcoolguy 4 месяца назад +105

    This video is the truth. After being on waitlists for several dealers for the past 3 years, i randomly stopped by one of the dealers and asked where I was in line. The sales guy, who was super cool, sheepishly explained that there is no waitlist. A sales person will take down your info, and if they don’t think you are a serious buyer or otherwise unworthy, will throw that card in the trash the minute you leave. Others they might hang onto for a short period of time if other buyers looking for the same thing fall through. I told him what I wanted. He said he might have one in a few days. He took my info, and I wondered if he might toss my card in the trash. 4 days later he contacted me saying the watch was arriving in two days and I had been chosen. Two days later I picked up the watch. Simple as that. One week turnaround. Probably all because we hit it off and had a pretty good conversation.

      @@AG-en5yI don’t remember how many times I went into all three stores I was on “waitlists” for all three years. But I can rank them in frequency by distance. The furthest store from me which is where I finally got my Rolex - I probably only went there a couple of times a year. The watch I got was not the same model I was on the waitlist for, but I was on the fictitious waitlist for that same watch at the other two stores. I went to the second furthest store a few times a year. The one closest to my house - I went there at least once a month. What I don’t mention before is I actually bought a Tudor and a Tag Heuer from the closest store in an attempt to buy my way up the waitlist, but it didn’t work. They never called me.

Selling at a market adjusted price means most AD stock is going out the back door to the grey market. Most AD's are just Rolex museums anyhow. There is nothing so unique about Rolex that other watch brands should be overlooked. Finally there are plenty of Super Clones at 10% of the Rolex price that require a microscope to differentiate from the real thing. Oh, and stay away from 47th Street in NYC - Snake Pit.

      In 2015 I had 2 ADs literally beg , and i mean beg 🙏🏼 me to take the Hulk (116610LV) instead of the black sub date (116610LN) and both offered me multiple discounts after each “no thanks” back then you could get hulks for $4k-5,800 all day even tho they were closer to $8,500msrp ( $5,500-6,750 depending discount) but anyone and everyone would get 10-15% off immediately. I got 35% (15,10,10%) he just kept going down 😂 I was thinking he would go down to cost and I’d take 10 of them 🤣. But John Mayer Daytonas were $25-29k all day
      Platinum Daytonas were $48-58k all day
      The olive DD40 was going for around $27.5-29k grey .
      And all of those watches peaked over $100k several years later (2020-2022)

    I have an amazing relationship with my AD, I’ve had every sport model from them except a ceramic Daytona! I’ve been waiting 7 years for one and I CANNOT get one. I have spent over 200k with my ad and still cannot get it! I’m getting married next year and have requested one to wear on my wedding day so I’m hoping they will give me one.
    There’s definitely not a waitlist, if it’s a special occasion they can have a watch on your wrist within the week! It’s who they like and if you fit in!!!

      If you’ve spent 200k, you can afford to buy one on the secondary market. Of those 200k watches- how many did you sell? Did they know this and don’t want you to have a Daytona to make money on?

    When I went to an AD less than a week ago to “express interest” in a new Tudor, the guy that handles Rolex & Tudor was on the phone and a replacement was sent to scribble on a card (which likely went into the circular file cabinet since I only bought 3 watches from them before). The Tudor only boutique (different shop) is a more likely source since they don’t have a Rolex salesperson handling Tudor. I buy mostly at Omega and Grand Seiko Boutiques (no jewelry no Rolex to push).

    Rolex's business model was always doomed. They are not exclusive enough for the super rich, they have always been an 'aspirational' brand for people who really cant afford it. If you stop selling to those people, they will simply move onto something else, because they are not actually interested in watches.

    Let me tell you smtg, rich people don’t take lines, if you want a Rolex go to some retailer and buy one for 3 or 4K more and be happy! The thing is the waiting list of for “cheaper” rolex (in most cases) under 11/12k (day just or GMT for instance) if you want something with gold, diamonds etc above 20k just walk in and probably you will get some! I’m not wondering about this, I just did it in 2 different Rolex stores and they offered me models ready to go above 18/20k
    Truth is most of people looking for entry models wanna buy to flip 😃👍🏻
