My teammate and his family were very close to one of the victims that died and its heart breaking because he was also a fellow swimmer who we know had big goals in life. I pray to all those families who lost anyone and all the families who had to experience this traumatizing moment.

A few weeks ago there was a shooting threat at my school, and the police found a list in the kids bedroom of the people he planned to kill, and an arsenal full of weapons. Luckily a kid reported the threat to authority and saved not only my life but many other lives that day

I remember every store moving the flower displays to the front, I remember every time I went to the store seeing 2 or 3 different people buying flowers for the month long series of funerals.

I am from that school. That morning my mother told me to stay at home because we were celebrating Valentine's day on her anniversary with her boyfriend, so we were planning a big party when later I receive a text message from a group I have with my best friends, they started texting about a shooting, that they were scared... I inmediately told my mom, while she was on the phone, she started crying and I knew she already listened to the news. Hours later we drove to the school were everybody was, and I went to hug my friends, who luckily survived the shooting. I was pretty happy that I wasn't there on that day, but also I felt bad for a couple of the victims, who I knew.

People have to remember school is a business and sometimes (Most times) they allow the money per student to ignore thoughts of students that are known threats to our kids safety safety, but at the end of the fuckin day (sorry for the language but you bond with these kids thats why you see coaches, security, staff using themselves as shields to protect them knowing they will never see there own children again ) it's business as usual in the eyes of the state ( money per student attendance, " ada") but money can't buy lives, but prayer can save souls it's only a matter of time before we are all personally affected, who knows if we will come back to our loved ones on two feet or a box just for trying to educate, and support our family. I was so shocked to hear this morning the sad news about yet another mass shooting in the USA.
More innocent children murdered senselessly.
You really need to tell your politicians to do something about this.
At the least, you need to build a new memorial wall in Washington DC that will list all the names of the thousands of innocent Americans that have been killed by gun violence. This would serve as a permanent reminder of the enormous tragedy families have had to endure. This monument would also serve as a solemn place of remembrance for those that grieve.
These people need to be remembered because it seems that a few days after each of these horrendous events the US public and media just gets distracted and moves on.

Wow 😢 it’s crazy to go to school terrified everyday and not feeling safe anymore
Its not that you will remember its that you wont forget. This is not ok. You dont ever think this will happen to you until it does. You might never think of not coming home to the people you care about. I have heard stories such as,” i was text my twin that was downstairs. I heard a gunshot downstairs and there was no reply’s when i was texting her.” This is not just another school shooting this what our country has become. I am only 10 years old. And i live in ohio. But still feel and will pray for Florida. We must take action instead of saying we will do something. “Ideas are great. But actions are better”.
I will Pray for you Florida. And i am so sorry what what you had to go through. If have lost someone i am deeply sorry.
