He's a freshman for Gods sake. It makes sense that it was difficult for him to articulate what happened to him. He's been through a traumatic experience. Just because he doesn't use enough descriptive verbs for you and isn't bawling doesn't mean that it's fake.

Rachel Lehrman you’ve never been in a live news interview have you. They ask you some questions before hand to conduct a an easy interview. He might have mentioned how he was calm later on in his story

Everyone is different
You wouldn’t. It’s almost like a dream when it’s over and you’re way too in shock to be crying. In the moment and for days even you could shut off your emotions just as he did. Trauma shows in many forms but being “calm” after seeing a dead body is completely normal. It more than likely hit him as soon as he was alone and able to process it.
You don’t know what you would be like in that situation because you’ve never been in it
leave these kids alone you cultures sick reporters trying to get a scoop these kids are in trauma leave them alone

This type of incident is honestly so horrible for anyone, but especially the junior adults that haven't even really taken a step into life and they go to school to get their education where they are supposed to be and in a flash they are exposed to and actually seen more violence and death than some service members of the US arm services. Americans love their guns way too much. Tbh we have to show our children/young adults how to survive in these situations, protect themselves and think smart.
Its never too early/late to show your kids/teens how to protect themselves.
Our school does active shooter drills along with fire drills.

For people who are saying this is fake unless you have been involved in something like this or a tragedy at a school which I have been when your a teenager you want to talk about it it’s all you want to do and it actually does help telling your story and talking through it those kids need to talk about what happened to them their reactions are completely normal
And what is very sad is that it was on Valentine’s Day and Ash Wednesday and I’m pretty sure those 17 students that died had valentine plans after school but they didn’t get to because they’re lives shattered and never made it

These students are just amazing human beings. I'm overwhelmed how they all looked out for each other and helped each other. This is too much for me as an adult to handle yet these children are amazing!!!!

if you guys have ever seen firsthand how the news stations film interviews, they actually bring some sort of ringlight or something so while it does make the background look fake, it's just the lighting they use.
Everyone there are actually alot of students in other classrooms that didnt go through any terrifying scenes and a lot of people and i mean a lot of people who fidnt lose a friend or loved one. Not everyone can be as terrifyed as the ones who really saw some gruesome shiy

Regardless if you think this event was real, staged or a bit of both, there are a few lines of questioning that I don't see anyone picking up on at present.
On the presumption that this is all 100% real, and that according to witness and family testimonies/statements/interviews etc. that there were 'live shooter drills' happening that day, the gunman was depressed and that he was also a loner who had trouble fitting into friend groups despite his best efforts -
1. Did the 'Live-shooter Drills' in fact cause more deaths or deaths themselves because the students thought it was another drill?
2. If Cruz was depressed, was he taking any form of medication/pharmaceuticals that could have incited such behaviour?
3. Could someone taking the time to befriend this individual, show compassion to him (especially since his family had died) and teaching him how to be a good person, have prevented this event from happening?
I'm very interested on others opinions on these thoughts.

So so so weird. After the shooting I ,for some odd reason, went back to see exactly what happened at Columbine because I was so young.... I watched news reports and kids speaking... crying... scared..... a boy crawling out of the window with half of his body paralyzed.... and now, I am watching these interviews and every single one of them seem like they are reading from a book. Like they don’t know how to speak. Seriously from the videos from Columbine you can tell the kids were scared.... like it was real. What in the heck is going on in these interviews from Florida??

I hate when people say it’s fake, I know this guy, he’s one of my friends, the whole community in parkland and Coral Springs suffer all of this, none of this is fake, yesterday I was in Douglas high school in the walkout with other schools, the environment is heavy, it’s devastating that something like this has happened, it shouldn’t happen again in any other school of the nation! #NeverAgain🙏🏻

I have a question: i live in belgium and in our country it was big news but they also said it was the 28th school shooting of that year, which means there was almost every day a school shooting. My question for american people is, do those other school shootings get in the news? How many casualties are there on average in those? I really wanna know cuz there's like every year here 1 Big US school shooting on the news of what i have to believe hundreds of other schoolshootings that don't get it to the news.. it's so weird, confusing and scary to think

Poor kid doesn't know it yet but he'll most likely suffer from PTSD. I went through seeing my neighbor shot and killed yrs ago and still have issues. Anytime I hear a gun on TV or in real life I'm taken right back.

I realize that school shootings have increased after 9/11, but how many occurred before that. With all the security we got after 9/11, it seems to have gotten worse.
