This kid remained calm and gave the police a detailed description of the shooter, helping them to arrest him quickly. I applaud him and hope he is healing.
I can't even imagine how traumatic this was for him. For all of you calling this fake, tell that to the 17 who are dead. Please have some empathy and put yourselves in these students' shoes.
My youngest brother shot in the head in his bedroom in 1988 (9mm pistol), I have empathy for genuine loss. I have been in their shoes and I never demanded the rights of others to own a weapon should be infringed upon.
I think there are a couple of “students” using this event and the bodies of dead classmates to build a bully pulpit.
If it is empathy you want... NOT TRIGGERED!

Alacran what are you talking about? I'm talking about empathy in the sense that people have been saying that its SUSPICIOUS that all of a sudden these high schoolers are taking action. They just went through a school shooting and people think its SUSPICIOUS that they responded the way they did. People respond to tragedy in different ways, they either grieve or take action, nothing suspicious about it.
What is objectionable is blaming gun owners nationwide for a Broward County failure not people whom are suspicious of community that fostered a mass murder & then lectures the Nation on gun safety. This shouldn’t be too difficult to understand.

Pro gun-control people are arguing with anti-gun control people because as usual, everyone has different opinions on gun control but people are not blaming the gun owners for what happened, that just doesn't make sense. They are blaming the lack of gun control in our country. In my original comment, I'm not taking a stance on gun control or saying that what these teens are doing is right or wrong. By empathy I'm simply saying that we should have empathy for these students instead of jumping to the conclusion that their reaction: demand for action, is "suspicious." We have to consider the fact that they just saw their classmates get gunned down, so of course they are going to want to take action.There's nothing suspicious about that. I'm talking about their reaction and not what their message is.

When this guy testified during the trial, you can tell that him having to relive that horrific day traumatized him just like it did the others who were injured. I'm so happy him and, the rest are alive and, although, some still have to live with pain from there injuries. May God bless them always. Very strong and, amazing ppl.

I just honestly feel bad for everyone involved in this. I live in Florida and have all of my life I'm 14 and I was effected a lot by the pulse night club shooting but this goes deeper to me because these are kids my age going to high school just like me that were gunned down by this psycho. Just really makes me scared that you never really know what kind of stuff can just randomly happen. R.I.P to all the children and to the teacher who gave his life to save children my age. He is a true hero.
I know you left this comment like 4 years ago, but I just wanted to validate your feeling about being scared because you're right you never know. I believe if we as a society, would get better about communicating our feelings and stop gaslighting others or making fun of others for the way they feel that some of these shootings wouldn't occur. I feel as a society we just need to do better!

What an endearing story.
These senseless acts of violence resonates for all of us. I sacrifice my sleep, sanity and health by working overnights in a supermarket when it's closed, because I am too nervous to deal with a potentially dangerous public. I'm not the only one either. A few others on night crew feel the same way. And a few people I know who work the Day Shift are too afraid to wear their ear buds at work (we're allowed) because they want to be alert in case anything happens.
It's sad.

That school came to my school with the desks of the kids who passed away and we had a big ceremony. But some kids walked away for lunch so sad
You guys have to understand that the front part of his ankle was MUTILATED. That AR15 literally blew a huge chunk and it was barely hanging together, and this young boy SPRINTED down three flights of stairs. He tried to save Joaquin Oliver, but it was too risky.

jjis you are correct. the entire video clearly shows it is his right leg injured. at 39 seconds you also see his left leg pulled up and bent and sort of off the bed. clearly his left leg is under the blanket.
