These hanja videos are my favorite series
Me too!
질량(质量) = material + quantity = mass
역량(力量) = force + quantity = force/ability
강수량(降水量) = drop + water + quantity = amount of rain
열량(热量) = hot + quantity = heat
중량(重量) = heavy + quantity = weight
Enjoy~
Better to write those in Traditional Chinese.
These Sino words are also common in Japanese and Vietnamese as well. Except that we don't drop the intial consonant in some words.
Haven't really seen this one in what I've read but I want to say I love the hanja series! It works great having learned Japanese in the past. Now I have watched all videos in this playlist and can't wait for more!
went right over my head.
wow, what a concept! thanks billy! i'd love more hanja lessons
Thank You so much for this series, 빌리 선생님!
I know also '음량', being '음' sound, so all together means 'volume'; 칼로리양 amount of calories;노동량 amount of labor
Great examples!
oooo i’ve been WAITING FOR THESE 👏👏👏
I know 양 means sheep, so 0:37 the first thing that comes to mind is, how would you say "counting sheep" 😆
You would use the animal counter 마리 when counting sheep :)
Thank you and please keep going
It appears that 다양/다양하다 (to be diverse, varied) is a 양 word - 다 all + 양 amounts, so "all amounts of." 맞습니까?
Probably not.
'다양' is written as 多樣, which literally means
多(many, much) + 樣(shape, form).
@@minkyu166 아, 그렇군요. 제가 잘 모르겠지만 그 말은 일리가 있습니다.
I didn't know any of the words on your video, but I know these: 양팔, 양발, 양말, 양쪽? Where 양 seems to take a meaning of 'both' or 'two'? Are these related? Also 다양하다?
Please give us more Hanja videos!! I love them!! Other than trying to use Korean (usually badly! 🤣) in real life, of course, Hanja is by far the most fun part of learning Korean!! It's like a fascinating puzzle of how different meanings come together to create new meanings, so different from English!! I wish I could give you 10 likes for these videos!!
Except for 양말, those other words mean "both." So that's a different Hanja. Perhaps I could make a video about that one someday later. 다양하다 is also a different one, and is the one used in the word 모양.
@@GoBillyKorean Ah, 다양하다 is related to 모양, like "all shapes/patterns"? Fascinating! Thank you! 🙂 There are often so many meanings, to every sino syllable.
So informative thank you! Do you have any videos talking about modifying nouns? I really need a way of understanding it well. 감사합니다 선생님
I do have these two videos: ruclips.net/video/TFsfjuMrCSk/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/1vhQnQRFAdg/видео.html
@@GoBillyKorean Thank you so much!
👏👏
선생님 I have seen in some day to day conversations between korean people , the verbs aren’t conjugated and just spoken as in the dictionary form (eg- 너무 맛있다 , etc…) and navier shows similar examples as well without conjugating verbs (이 인근에는 공항이 없다) can you explain about that. Why it is not conjugated and is it okay to use like that?
That's known as the "Plain Form." ruclips.net/video/F922EUtJAc0/видео.html
