Thanks!
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it!
양손잡이 (ambidextrous) is actually an interesting word that uses this hanja
Funfact: the hanja for 양말 are
洋 (큰 바다 양) and
襪 (버선 말)
洋 (양) means ocean, but can be often translate as western or foreign and 襪 (말) are traditional socks, called 버선 in korean.
So 양말 means basically "western socks". I hope this helps to remember it ^^
Glad to finally know the derivation. When I first came across 양말 I did my best to figure it out via Naver dictionary. I concluded that 양 = sheep and 말 = end so if you put wool on the end of your legs, you get socks 😁. Oddly, I did not come across 말 being the traditional socks but that would have made this (apparently wrong) conclusion work even more.
Also, this 洋 (양) is seen in 양복 as 'foreign' uniform or we'd say 'suit', and 양파 which translates as 'western' onion.
I would buy a Billy Go 한자 book.
So informative as usual :)
Thank you so much. Please keep going 🙏
I see hanja video I click.

양국 as both countries 😊
I saw 양손 on a sign that I took to mean 'both hands' - something like 양손으로 잡으세요

Well, I've seen it in 양자(Both sides) besides many of the ones shown here.
I heard 양반 used in a variety show recently and was so confused as to what it meant 😭 the timing of this video is impeccable.
It was one of those kpop variety shows and the guy was using it in reference to his bandmates -- I suppose he must have been using it in jest?
Yes, it's used humorously often :)
Is 양반 used in a more derogatory manner nowadays instead of nobility? I think I heard my dad use it to talk about someone he didn't like heh. Definitely wasn't nobility.
It can be used humorously as well :)
Is this the same as 양성애 for bisexuality? 양=both 성=gender 애=love/attraction
Yes.

I thought 양 had something to do with western…? Like 양복.
That's a different 양 (洋) and I have an upcoming Korean FAQ episode about that.
Who is Chinese?
