- TLC's Sister Wives has returned for it's 18th season and the hypocrisy, inconsistencies, and out right lights are being exposed.
Robyn has been labeled everything from a home-wrecker to a puppet master. I am not going to dispute either of those claims. It's my goal in this video to give depth to the potential relationships of people who have relationships outside of their marriage and what happens when you bring those people in. Some will argue that Robyn's relationship was done with the wives consent, so therefore it isn't cheating or outside of his relationships. I point your attention to Janelle, Christine, Meri, and Robyn's accounts that 2 of the 3 wives objected to Kody courting and marrying her. By all the adults accounts, if a wife (majority) don't agree with the pairing then it cannot occur. They didn't agree and he did it anyway.
By playing the role of the pseudo other woman, Robyn has been able to give Kody excitement and a zero stress environment. When people go to their side piece, they typically don't take their problems with them. Problems and responsibilities are burdens that the wives (OG3) would bear alone.

I think there is a saying to the effect that "whenever a man marries his mistress, he's creating a job vacancy". Also, Robyn has a lot of nerve criticizing the other wives' appearances. She is not aging well and has gotten thicker while the OG3 seem to have lost 20 years just by kicking Kody to the curb, not to mention a few pounds from their own bodies plus the 180 lbs. of Kody. Christine and Janelle are both much prettier than Robyn in my opinion.

Way early Christine was extremely hurt and upset when she found out that they kissed before the wedding. She said that was cheating. Neither she nor Janelle kissed Cody until they were spiritually wed because until that point he was someone else’s husband.

I feel like that’s what Kody told her, to reassure her she was his only lover but to make himself the victim. I do not see any of them ever rejecting him. He rejected them; he froze them out.

I can't imagine being one of the OG3 & learning that not only am I about to start paying luxury living expenses for Robyn & her kids, but I also have to pay off Robyn's past debt. I don't think I'd ever get over that.
There is also a cultural explanation for Kody's behavior. For some in polygamy, the wives manipulate and mistreat each other, jockeying for favorite wife status because that is how they get better treatment for her family. It is not unheard of for the favorite wife to bully the other wives or for men to treat the children of unfavored wives poorly.
Robin’s apples & oranges comment is so fake. She has a whole fruit basket, and the OG3 have one raisin each, and she wants to claim they’re equal.

Robyn's dad had 2 wives, but they didn't even live in the same city. I just think her mom was an acknowledged side chick, who gave Robyn the advice that in plural marriage she needs to treat her husband like her best customer. So Robyn never saw the struggles of a plural marriage, she saw her Mom treating her Dad like her best customer, and that was Robyn's example of plural marriage.

Robyn made sure that her ex-husband was excommunicated from her kids lives just like her mom did to Robyn’s real father.
Robyn alienated her own children from the rest of the Brown family claiming they were treated as outsiders. Blended families are tough but Robyn didn’t really want “her kids” to be influenced by the rest of the kids because they were being raised by independent working women to be free & independent thinkers.
Good solid points. Besides, you don't name the pigs when you plan on eating bacon next week. From the show's perspective the wives were merely opportunities to make her dreams come true. If she personalized them and built relationships with them it would be harder to use them.

Yes! I have been saying this! Her mom was a mistress, I don’t care how they like to spin it. She and her kids lived in a different state, and she taught Rob’em to lead a mistress lifestyle by always keeping their relationship in a “honeymoon” phase. She has kept her family isolated from “the big picture” and competed with the other wives from Day 1. She has acted like a mistress from Day 1.
The only problem now is, the wives’ incomes are all gone, and the wives are all gone. Rob’em is actually going to have to live like a wife, not a mistress, and on only Grody’s coin. She’s going to be real tired of him when the money is gone. She won’t be able to keep the kids away from him when she can’t pay for childcare. And once he has to give up his convertibles and all his hair products, he’s going to turn into that “devil” he really is! The only reason I’m watching this show is to see this scenario finally play out and both of them get their just desserts.

As an older lesbian, there's one piece of Kody's behavior that I recognize. When your potential dating pool is very small (mine was about 2.5% of the population, and for pligs, it's smaller), you will jump through crazy hoops to find a good match. I had plenty of long distance relationships where I drove hours on end to see someone I met online, or through the grapevine, just for a chance at a relationship.
Kody had a very, very small dating pool, and at the same time was told that he had to pick at least 3 of the available women if he wanted to get into heaven. He compromised big time. He wasn't really into any of the OG3, but they were his duty.
When he met Robyn, he finally found someone who was a love match. He had stars in his eyes and was like a teenager again. Except he was still married and dragged his family along for his adolescent ride. The rest of the fallout, in my eyes, was because Kody fell in love but was too selfish to admit to the rest of the OG3 that if he'd been monogamous, he'd have dumped them long ago.

James this was something I had been saying all along. Robyn knew exactly what to say but as far as living this lifestyle she never did and kody was openly cheating on his family with everyone’s blessings. The OG3 knew things were not right, whenever they would call them out on it everyone would call them unfair and hurting the FAMILY.
Giving him the stress-free, never-ending honeymoon, "best customer" experience constantly means she is never really herself.
Season 17 E2 ( I think), it was brought up again, fhat if any of the wives had said no, Kody would have called it off with Robyn. But remember, in the beginning, Christine and Janelle didn't even know about Robyn. It was he and Merri's little secret.

Because I was severely abused growing up, and was the scapegoat who belonged nowhere, with anyone, I was vulnerable to predatory men. In a couple of cases, those men were married, but told me flimsy lies, that I very stupidly believed. They and their wives were splitting up, they’d tell me. I will now carry that guilt, always.
Robin does not strike me that way, at all. She has no problem with what she’s done, and even expects to be rewarded for it. I never ended up with anything but guilt over it. She and Kody are the kind of people I could never see coming, and didn’t understand. I still don’t, but therapy has taught me how to avoid them.
First rule: If a man is not a couple of years out from an actual divorce, don’t take up with him. You will be pulled into the drama, especially if there’s a separation, with spoken intent to divorce. You will be part of a power struggle that is not about you.
Yup, my ex and I had A LOT going on with our oilfield & trucking business and our cattle ranch along with kid responsibilities, he was cheating with the neighbor and that pretty much was his excuse. If Robyn wanted plural marriage and help with her kids, how about pitching in and helping the other women with their kids and they helping her with her kids? Others report glimpses of figurines, crystal and doll collections worth lots of money. Someone else allegedly spotted a piano. It seems they have accumulated great wealth and are hiding things in plain sight. Might be the reason Robyn won't allow filming in the McMansion. When Janelle was talking about buying a house or building on Coyote Pass, Kody told her there wasn't enough money. She said there should have been money but it was spent on "other' things. I think she got suspecious that they were possibly skimming from the family pot. How could Kody and Robyn afford these luxuries when the other wives were struggling to feed and support their kids all while contributing to the family pot? Something is not adding up here. Imo, this didn't just happen overnight. It had to be a calculated process. Would it be too late to hire a lawyer and demand an audit? What would be the chance that the OG wives could recoup anything financially from the alleged "ill gotten gains"?

I dont think s3x was the biggest issue. I had a deadbedroom marriage. We married at 24+26, divorced at 29+31. Prime s3x years but we made the beast with 2 backs TWICE, despite extreme efforts daily on my part.
When we divorced that was one of the top points i pinned, but it was really much lower on the list of issues. But when you say “he never supported me” “he was constant source of stress” “he was moody asshole 24-7” “he never did a thing to help around house or with kids” that stuff is all debatable. Right? when Robyn said they were never accepted - she means she was never accepted. The other wives took on her debt, Christine tried to watch her children, Mari accepted her from before she came in the family. Kids are kids and they don't look at things like debt, being younger - they wanted to play and have fun. Robyn was insecure with the other wives from the beginning and chose to alienate herself and her children from the others. She played damsel in distress and Cody protected her which made her even more paranoid everyone was out to get her. Once she saw Kody squash the complaints from the other wives she came in like a wrecking ball and turned to the puppet master.
This is what polygamist do when wives stop having children, they put them out to pasture and look for another wife that’s fertile and that’s exactly what happened when Christine told Cody that truly would be their last child he went searching for the next broodmare

I am continually horrified with how they have always acted like INDIVIDUAL families. Even before Robyn they didn't behave like a family unit. They weren't helping to feed each other kids. They had separate grocery budgets. The big kids helped feed the little kids, and then helped to put the little kids to bed. If I considered myself the bonus mom, I could never allow for this. They basically lived in separate apartments. I understand the apartments were separated by doors, But no one could help make sure kids were in bed on time or up and ready for school. Then they moved to Las Vegas. I was horrified when the siblings were separated. Each family was in separate rentals that weren't close together. Poor Leon was moved away from the rest of the siblings. No wonder he felt alone and abandoned. Then Christine's only son was separated from the 3 or 4 brothers he has with Janelle's. And Janelle's girls were separated from Christine's girls. No wonder Robyn's kids feel they have never been accepted. They have never lived or behaved like a real family. I took more responsibility for the neighborhood kids with 2 alcoholic parents than the 4- 5 adults did for this family. And now look at Kody who doesn't acknowledge his children until they agree to come kiss his feet. Absolutely atrocious. They. Were. Never. A. family. And to think they thought they were going to show the world how great polygamy is!

Janelle was talking about feelings of guilt over enjoying time with her part of the family over thanksgiving. I felt so bad for her. She has these feelings that she wasn’t allowed to be happy without Kody. He had manipulated and abused her to the point that she was dealing with codependency issues he instilled into her.
Robyn is going to be reaping what she’s sown. She let Kody lay up at her house and not be accountable for the terrible things he was doing to the other 3. Now, she’s going to be the recipient of that abuse, because the others ARE handing him off to her and it isn’t the shiny, pretty package she thought it was.
It makes you wonder about how they are scrambling to keep up appearances right now. Flagstaff had a FLDS community when I lived there, years ago. Wonder why we don’t hear about them connecting with that group, because their lifestyle is so far away from what Fundamentalist Mormons would hold to?
The Browns were members of the Apostolic United Brethren sect. The FLDS is the Warren Jeffs associated group. Kody and the ladies have been running them down since season 1. In all honesty I think Kody was trying to use the show as a stepping stone to move up in his church. That plan seems to be falling apart, especially since he's losing wives the way he is.

Therefore, her experience is different and she believes all the Kody programming. All his tale of woe becomes her tales, too. Now that all the worker bees have flown the coop, she is upset about the fact that now he is going to turn to her and expect her to buck up and start working to rebuild. Robyn is not a builder as you said, she’s a spender.

You hit the nail on the head, James. Kody said it in season 18 episode 3, if one wives is “cantankerous “he could go to another one so that he doesn’t have to deal with that wife’s attitude”. Robyn always made sure that she was the mistress who provided, fun and excitement where Kody could escape from the bills, issues with kids, and demands of every day life. I’m pretty sure when the OG3 and Kody lived in a three bedroom trailer, the kids had to sleep wherever there was room. Robyn demanded each of her children get their own rooms and remain in the same school district. Robyn figured out how to get her name on almost every section of the Coyote Pass property. When it was paid off and re-named, Robyn is still entitled to Kody‘s portion, or at least half of Kody‘s portion, by virtue of being married to Kody. I will never agree that it was Meri’s idea to get divorced from Kody so that Robyn could marry him to adopt the kids. Robyn also demanded a quarter of Robyn of Kody‘s time when he lived down the block and they weren’t yet married but in her words “it wasn’t proper for her to move into the family home because they weren’t married yet”. 🙄
Robyn was never told no from the start and Christine and Janelle were not given a say about bringing her in which was not the plan. She was promised before they knew she existed.

Deep down Kody wants to move back to Utah but his ego won’t let him be around Christine’s beautiful new life.
I can see that. Word around the campfire is he asked Robyn about moving and she told him she'd divorce him first and take what's left of his money. If she said that and I was Kody, I would believe her. There's no way she's letting him move her to Oklahoma to live next to Brian on his ranch while she's downgraded from her current home size. I'm an OG viewer and have started re-watching from Season 1 - my theory (and this may all be based on editing) is that when Robyn offered and encouraged Meri to let Robyn be a surrogate and Kody was initially all for it (Kody and Meri were actually doing pretty well at this time); then "suddenly" when Meri tells Kody she wants to proceed and appears excited and happy about it, he's 100% against it (Season 6, ep 8). You can't tell me Robyn didn't manipulate that situation and convince Kody that it would be a bad idea behind Meri's back while encouraging Meri to proceed - all to drive a bigger wedge between Meri and Kody while using her offer of surrogacy to cement a closer bond with Meri to set her up for the "divorce ask" the following year. In retrospect, Robyn's statements and actions in the earlier seasons look downright sinister.

Ysabel's surgery was what got me. His behavior before the surgery made it clear he didn't spend any significant time with her otherwise he would have been going as crazy as Christine seeing her in pain. Calling it a vacation. Not going.
Every family I've heard about with a sick child, the other members, even young children were understanding that the parents had to focus on that child. If it went on for years with the parents putting the other children aside, yeah, that might cause some resentment. But this was 6 weeks for the operation. He could have gone for a week even. That would have taken a month maybe including quarantine. Kody will never be able to make up for that even if he finally understood how horrible he was.
I agree. I believe Kody and Robyn were manipulating from moment one so they could sit back and treat the family account like their piggy bank. Now that is done. I am guessing once the TV show is done and the money gone Robyn will be gone too.

The thing that stood about Robyn for me in comparison to the rest of the OG3 and their children is the lack of maturity that her children display, almost to an alarming level. Robyn has consistently demanded outside childcare help (the nanny, Mykelti) and the payoff has created a group of children who are completely dependent upon Kody and herself for almost anything. I hope the audience realizes that Aurora, Dayton and Briana are similar in age to Gwendolyn, Gabriel, Garrison, Ysabel and Savannah, yet they are miles apart in level of communication and maturity. Gwen is married, Garrison is in the military, and all of the children of the OG3 are well rounded and mature young adults. In comparison, Robyn's children have been smothered to death to the point that they literally act like 5 year olds (look at the ear piercing scene if you need evidence or the Kody and Robyn get COVID scenario).
Kody is so self absorbed that he just can’t see the wreckage he has made all around him. It sickens me that he talks about how his kids don’t make the effort to apologize and grovel to get back in his good graces while he does NOTHING to improve any of the relationships he’s screwed up. He is the adult for heavens sake. He’s not a teenager anymore. He needs to pull up his man pants and fix these problems by apologizing for making Covid more important than his children or his wives. If he just said he was sorry and that he loved them and can’t stand to lose them, every single wife would still be there. They need to be shown by Kody that they are a huge priority in his life and that he loves them. None of this loyalty crap. We are loyal to those who love us and fill our cup.
