- Based on what I've seen on TLC's Sister Wives, Janelle and Robyn are arch nemesis. These two ladies not only share a husband but they share very similar origin stories. Both ladies entered the family as divorced women. Both women had to decide what role they were going to fill for the family. Where they differ is the path they chose.
Janelle, the maker, decided to dedicate her life and finances towards the betterment of the family. Robyn, the taker, decided on the exact opposite path. Robyn's presentation on the show is that of a selfish person who is only concerned with the things she can get from the family.

Robyn and I are the same age and it’s just shocking to me that any peer of mine is sleeping until noon, has never had a job, and has a nanny to care for her school-aged kids. I don’t know one single person in my life that’s had it like that. The entitlement it takes to live like that is off the charts. Does she think she’s a Rockefeller?!

To this day I wonder if Robyn heard that the family was shopping around for a reality TV show and went after Kody. He wasn't interested at first he thought she was a soccer m9m he was interested in her best friend that he thought she was gorgeous
Robyn's whole back stop doesn't make sense and is clearly a lie if you look at the facts. She tried to be an actress in the late 90's (she was on CMT & Just Shoot Me) and a lot of people have said she auditioned for Survivor and other reality shows while married to Preston. Christine (who's Preston's cousin) went to college for media and had been doing speaking engagements about polygamy in the surrounding states and churches, finally the Brown's begin talks with TLC about a show, something you know the Brown's church and family knew about. Then Robyn suddenly leaves her husband, takes her 3 children with no job and moves from MT to UT and begins attending a church 5 HOURS away from where she lived, even though, she wasn't working and didn't have an income, no one would do that without a good reason! A reporter from UT who covers polygamy and the churches involved with it, claims it was common knowledge that Robyn left her husband for the sole reason of getting into the Brown family for fame and money, she moved to UT to be close to the Brown's and started showing up at their church, at every church event and at her cousin's home who lived in the Brown's neighborhood until she worked her way into the family. That's why she didn't divorce Preston, he had to file on her because if Kody turned her down she was going to go back to her husband.
Robyn thinks she is the one who has gotten them fame because if she didn't come in there was no show. Robyn is a total chump!! And a huge liar!!

I think he promised her the moon, and she convinced him, as an 'actress', she could make him wealthy beyond his dreams. They would have some subservient wives, (in name only), to help keep them living the high life. ( Robyn was going to whip those women into shape, by 'empath'-ing, and 'counseling', and showing them how to behave with their man.)
Oh, yes, I think it became a collaborative effort between them, and TLC was right in there pitching for it. Of course, that is all my opinion, but I have seen what can happen when a couple of narcissists get together!

Robyn has nothing positive to give, unless it's satisfying Kody's "needs" Nothing. Not love, loyalty, friendship, nor generosity. Certainly she has never contributed financially. She is a taker. She came to the family with a mountain of debt and she has never held a job. She hasn't even raised her own children.. Janelle is the opposite. She gave everything because she's a giver. And she is generous, kind, loyal and loving. I think Kody is regretting driving his first three wives away, though he won't admit it. And now he is stuck with Robyn and her kids. Three of Robyn's kids are adults who show no signs of getting jobs or leaving the nest. Without TLC, this arrangement isn't sustainable.
Agree I personally don't view Robyn as contributing but sure Kody gets a young wife I guess? I don't have an issue with Robyn wanting the best for her children, many parents would do the same - but how can she spew crap about "the family culture"? It's like when Kody interacts (or doesn't interact) with the other wives the blinders go on. Christine even asks Kody what did I do so that you wouldn't help me tuck the children in and I don't think even he knows. How is it "the family culture" if you need to hire people or farm out parenting to other kids?
Exactly! Sobbin has never held a job, and has never contributed to the family's finances. Christine made sure that the kids were fed and educated. That's right, she homeschooled the kids.

It really pisses me off what Robyn ended up with while Janelle walked away with nothing after working and supporting the family for years!! I hope karma gets Robyn and Kody some day.

Robyn has said that polygamist families operate differently than monogamist families in that a woman can be attracted to a (married) man based on how well he treats his other wives. So where does that leave Robyn when Kody treats his original wives like yesterday's trash? :S
Let’s remember that Robyn’s Mother was actually a side piece, not a polygamist family. Robyn was in a monogamous 1st marriage.
It may not have started out that Robyn had sites on bumping Meri but when she saw that Kody and Meri didn’t have the tight knit marriage of when Robyn arrived. I believe thats when her wheels turned. Security for her kids thru adoption and securing her place as legal wife and top it off with two more babies.
Robyn saw her chance financially as legal wife. Robyn wanted to be an actress, sooooo enter Sister Wives. She got her share if the money from the show, she didn’t work and Kody worked his wickedness to have her financially set. Now legal wife 1/2 of all kody’s assets besides what he put in her name alone.
FOLLOW THE MONEY and you’ll see where Robyn rates AND it all fell into her hands because Kody let it happen, hide facts and just plain out gave it to her!

Robyn knew the family financial status and she also understood the importance of her getting a job, but what did she do instead??? She got pregnant! This was pure manipulation on her part, sadly, that was her contribution..more mouths to feed.😳
Robyn had to solidify her position and then when she actually had to work with SWC she told Kody she wanted another baby. She is allergic to work.

Janelle is a mystery to me. I don't know how someone who is by all accounts intelligent, practical, and responsible could tolerate having her and her children's well-being tied to Kody and the Co. Kody has zero control. He's an impulsive child who is downright dangerous because he has no idea what he doesn't know. I also have no idea how she isn't ABSOLUTELY FURIOUS all of the time at how this has all unfolded. I would be a walking ball of angry, vengeful bitterness when it comes to Kody and Robyn.
None of this started until Robyn. Kody was the cheap one, let them go without. He even let Robyn drive to Montana with a car making noises that end up breaking down.

I suppose I can sort of see her staying when her kids were young, but as they left home and it became more and more obvious that Kody and Robyn were just take take taking, why did she stay? Especially when there were so many examples of them (esp Robyn) making politely snide remarks about her. I wonder if Janelle is a weird mix of both confidence and low self-esteem. Didn't Janelle leave the family and got her own house after she had Gabriel?? I believe it was stated in the book and on the show. Kody and the family all moved from Wyoming to Utah and Janelle & her children stayed in Wyoming for a year or so. I am sure Kody promised her the world to come to Utah with the family. Janelle may have stayed so long because of her religious beliefs and for all the children.

Robyn parrots a lot of what the other wife's say, she hones in on keywords and phrases. The problem with this is when Robyn talks the intent behind whatever she's saying becomes meaningless. This is why if you question her she crumbles because she can't explain herself. Also let's not gloss over Coyote Pass getting split into 5 lots, one thing that did come straight from Robyn is calling the property a legacy to be passed down to the kids. She has five kids! Enough said!
@denisiarose6475 I screamed EXACTLY when I read your comment. It was Ironic that Kody demanded the lors to be split into 5. I also believe Robyn wanted the wives to leave, even though on camera she cried like she actually cared about the other wives or children. No way in hell of I was a bonus mom (step mother/sister wife) would I ever allow Kody to dog out his other children as I put mine 1st every time. Children are innocent and even when I am involved. They all get time, love, attention, affection. One isn't more important than the others, and that's how it should be. I hated hearing Robyn say that her little kids can't go more than 2 days without seeing Kody, yet all his other children had to go weeks without seeing their dad. It's all BS that was only beneficial to Robyn and her children!

She is the one who repeatedly states her children are being bullied by everyone else. Translation My kids are poor innocent victims and the other children are mean, therefore the other Mothers aren't good parents. I'm from a blended family and you don't add more space between the kids when they're acting out. You act like a parent and help the kids work it out. Janelle (fans think) paid off Coyote Pass earlier this week on the condition that Robyn's name be taken off the land, it's just Kody & Janelle on the land now. Please look into this whole Coyote Pass pay off thing, James! You have so much financial and business knowledge that you can probably figure it out. Robyn's excuse definitely makes ZERO sense. If she didn't want to "live with a married man" not only would she NOT have been ok with living with him on the weekends when he stayed at her house BUT she could have stayed at a temporary apartment or cheap hotel until after they were married, then move into the Lehigh house after the wedding! That would be the only way her excuse would prove to be true. Every single thing Robyn does is FOR Robyn, she always tries to spin it in a "selfless" way but it's never selfless, she ALWAYS benefits from it in some way. Kody absolutely threw away diamond wives for a rock wife, she serves no purpose to the Brown family and contributes nothing positive to anyone in the family, she can't even care for her own children without help.
The only thing that Robin brought to the family was debt, a lot of debt.

The properties at CP have been paid off and Janelle's name has replaced Robyn's on the deeds. This tells me that Janelle paid off this land herself. too bad Kody's name is still on everything.

Kody stomps his feet saying he wants to be a leader and be respected for his leadership. Someone needs to explain to him that he will never be considered a leader if he is constantly claiming to be a victim of circumstances. That's what a leader is for - to lead you away from or out of negative circumstances. He fails every time and the only effort he makes is to find blame in others.

I recently found out that Robyn’s name isn’t on the property anymore and it’s just Janelle’s name with Kody on the property on the parts that Kody and Robyn’s name were on. It’s set up where it’s a separate entity and in Arizona if something happens to Kody Robyn gets nothing on the property due to the clause of it being a separate entity like a business. It means by default, the property goes to Janelle and whatever Meri owns goes to her. I think Robyn’s name was taken off the property because they owed Janelle and they couldn’t pay her. Without a Crystal Ball reported on it about two days ago when they paid off what they owed.

Let’s not forget that Kody and Janelle “courted” for 2 weeks before these two thought it was a good idea to get married on Meris birthday and Kodys mother had to intervene. And Janelle wondered why Meri didn’t roll out the welcome wagon. Christine and Meri also worked not just Janelle, btw. As for Robyn, I am convinced her and Kody met way before they official met, made a plan to scam the other wives into financing their closet-monogamy while the other women operated under the assumption they had to incorporate a 4th wife (that also the reason why tlc green lot the previously rejected show). Meri might “think” she found Robyn but I’m convinced she was placed into Robyn’s way to get love bombed to get Robyn into the family and for Kody to get the tv show.
Janelle has the last laugh. They paid off Coyote Pass and it's in Kody and Janelle's names only. Not marital property for Kody.
Her marriage gives her 1/2 of everything Kody has.

@kellykidder, good point, but 1/2 of nothing leaves nothing. Because Kody is terrible with money, I’m sure he and Robyn has refinanced all the equity out of their house, therefore, if they sell, they must bring cash to the table at closing.

There's something currently happening with the ownership stakes in Coyote Pass. The lots that still had loans have been paid off and the names on the deeds have been changed around. I don't think Meri is on any of the lots now. I'm guessing Janelle is making sure she has some assets in her name. The analysis of their current finances might be a good topic for a video, James. I always appreciate your no-BS/no-drama perspective on the Sister Wives.
From a report I heard yesterday, Robyn is no longer on the property deeds in Coyote pass. Kody owns one lot outright, Janelle owns the other.
I did read Janelle and Kody paid off Janelles lot, or all of it. Not sure.

Love the way you analyze these relationships! It often puts a different - and more logical - spin on what TLC or others try to portray. This whole SW story is a fascinating study in human relationships and behavior.

When you talked about your daughter I flashed to an old episode with Kody badgering Truly on her first bicycle lesson. YOU would've been the dad to teach her. I wonder if she ever learned? I was one who 100% did NOT see through Robyn until the very recent season where she started opening up to share things she never had before that revealed her manipulations, lies, etc. I was quite surprised actually. I thought she was super sweet. What gave her game away to ya'll early on?
@@ChristianOne I started seeing Robyn's manipulation in Season 1: with the Kiss (before being married) while Christinewas in labor, then the wedding dress, her demanding that she was put into the nightly rotation with Kody (before they got married), the 11 day Honeymoon- that also ties in with the next point- while on that extra long Honeymoon, she left her children with her mother, and Not with Christine. To find out later on s17- that she had Mykelti as her Nanny when she was 12 or 13 yrs old and Not Christine. Robyn refused to live in the big house (with Janelle) when she moved to Lehi, but had to get her own house down the street. The Manipulation slwas early on, and most did miss it as Robyn was sweet and seemed to be innocent. OH that was a lie.... we all fell for it, I know I did. After rewatching Season 1 (during season 2 airing on TV- my kids played sports, so most Sundays we were out all day and I missed a few episodes) I took a good look at Robyn's character and was like hell naw... I don't like her or Kody!!
It really showed how bad Robyn was (to me) when they moved to Vegas. She had notes on the fridge telling the kids not to eat certain things, yet was all in the camera's claiming she loved it when the teens come over and go thru her cupboards to eat up everything. The one scene when it was her night with Kody, and Paedon & Gwendolyn were over playing with Dayton & the girls, Robyn had Kody tell the kids it was dinner time and they had to leave. As a mother, I was puzzled and irritated seeing that. Yes, I understand it was Robyn's night with their dad, but damn, those are Kody's kids too. You couldn't pull up 2 more chairs and plates so those 2 could eat dinner with their dad and siblings?? Or the fact that Kody didn't even walk the 2 down the street to Christine's house. That sealed it for me liking Robyn.
Robyn didn't want to mingle with family affairs because she had a plan to take, take, and take.
When Robyn came into the family . The OG3 , with the exception of Meri, were still having physical relations with Kody.

I also believe that Robyn was jealous of Janelle the most. Janelle birthed more boys and had the most favored daughter in Maddie. And the fact that Janelle was plus sized put Robyn uneasy about her looks too. Hence the Spy bench over looking the trailer & the phone calls the drop byes during Janelle time with Kody . Over the years.

When I think about the scummy people from 90 Day, at least you can see the red flags and antics right off the bat. With Sister Wives so much of the truth is hidden under making their religion seem legitimate and personality fakery.
You read this family better than most. Robin was the catalyst to the fall of this whole family. She can cry and say not, but, her and Cody were disgusting to this family. Including to the kids. Thinking about finances and planning looks different to a kid than it does to an adult for valid reasons. I can remember the adults in my family and other friends' families discussing money concerns. As a teenager there's a vague concept - that the adults have concerns and as a teenager I don't (I had an after school job but not a mortgage!) As an adult, I have to do my own budget and pay for my own expenses so I think about it much more than a kid would. Robyn comes across as that teenager - like the other wives can deal with the finances and I'll just enjoy the fruits. That's a childlike mentality about reality. Maybe she felt God would provide her with multiple income streams. And if she were living economically and/or frugally, you can add value to your household budget by not spending money on precious moments figurines or paying off victoria's secret pyjamas 🙄 Maybe I'm being unfair - I get that some people are not math oriented? And maybe Robyn doesn't want to come across as the old fashioned downtrodden fourth polygamist wife? Even though Janelle is being transparent to TLC and the viewers, I think she's seen some stuff on the family financials and tax returns that she might not want to disclose for one reason or another. Slightly stunned that Mykelti discussed growing up in poverty...it's her truth but Kody probably doesn't want to revisit that and Robyn simply wasn't there when they were struggling.

Robyn and Kody’s wedding was extremely extravagant and expensive, so that was a HUGE bill to pay off. Such as using DEAD butterflies for hair accessories on the wives, and on the cake (those are crazy expensive!) because Robyn loves butterflies so much! That’s insane! TLC did not pay for most of that wedding because it was the 1st season after all, and they had no idea if they would get a 2nd season at the time. And I’m sorry, they couldn’t have had a 401K…that’s just plain ridiculous. They were so poor that most of them and their kids didn’t even have health insurance…no way they could have spared the money to put in a 401K. Maddie had recently had an emergency appendectomy that had to be paid in cash (which they didn’t have, so that was another BIG bill to pay off). All of them had been through bankruptcy and used food stamps. Christine JUST had her bankruptcy before the show started. Sister-wives has always been alot of lies, staged storylines and scripts…but of course all “reality shows” are, so that’s not exactly shocking. The Brown Family kills me…

Sobbin (Robyn) is such a narcissist. She cares for no one but herself, and Kootie (Kody). They deserve each other. Janelle is such an amazing person. I don't know how she could put up with Kootie for so long. I would have been arrested for spousal abuse. Lol!
David Preston Jessop filled for divorce from Robyn in 2007 when Breanna was three years old. Maybe the divorce wasn’t finalized until 2009 and Kody and Robyn married in May 2010. But they separated in 2007.

1. Robyn declines living in the house in Utah because she was not married BUT wanted to be in the rotation with Kody BEFORE she was married. 2. She assessed the wives and saw that they were WEAK and INSECURE and would not put their foot down about her coming into the family with THREE kids, a HUGE DEBT while she was NOT WORKING. She outsmarted them in an EVIL way.
My opinion is that Robyn has earned her TLC money by being the female villain of the sister wives. That has monetary value as its always added interest to the show. Everyone loves to hate her.

I love your videos!! I found on google that Robyn supposedly made $600,000 by writing the memoir becoming sister wives and receives regular royalties from it. She’s also written a few other books. But I agree with you. And that money has most likely already been distributed.
There is an author with the same name as Robyn. The press and many others wrongfully believe it is the same Robyn. Kody’s Robyn has no accomplishments other that being on the TV show and writing her small section of the ( Becoming Sister-wives) book. Robyn is NOT an author.
Sobbin Robyn is a dud. She doesn’t have the ability to be successful at anything except to take advantage of others.
