- TLC's Sister Wives has returned for it's 18th season and the hypocrisy, inconsistencies, and out right lights are being exposed.
Janelle is demanding that the agreements in her marriage change. Is she asking for something unreasonable? I don't think so. She's asking that Kody and the family take her into consideration. Of course, Kody thinks that this request is completely out of bounds.
As with so many relationships, being taken for granted and taken advantage of can be part of the landscape. People get so used to receiving the benefits of being in a relationship, that they start to feel that those benefits are no longer benefits but entitlements, even if it is to the detriment of their "loved one." This is where we find Janelle. Janelle has revealed that she feels vulnerable and afraid, as a result of the sacrifices she has made for the family. These feelings of despair would erode away at even the strongest relationship. In order to save the family and her relationship, she needs a change.
The feeling a need for change isn't limited to polygamist relationships, but could be familial, friendly, or professional. We can all relate to this situation. Unfortunately, we can also relate to how difficult the process of sucessfully bringing about change can be.

I think this season shows that Janelle NEVER expected to leave the family. That's why she made the financial decisions she did. It wasn't until she saw she was getting forced out of the family that she was.caight off guard. Janelle is 100% family.

Janelle separated from the family multiple times. I think Janelle just doesn't realize her value yet. It's just not normal to leave yourself and your children that vulnerable. It's unbelievable
All too often at work passed over management why I don't know still haven't told me I I had neck surgery they expect me back to work 3 weeks after the date I got my surgery I can only work two or three hours a day and then have to go home then I was ostracized from the Christmas parties all kinds of people at work I'm definitely when bonuses branded out skipped me right back I was making less than a housekeeper and here I was a front desk agent and I could run the back of the desk and the manager's desk my eyes closed. Then I went through the week that I have PTSD and I have flare-ups and I can't do anything until my BP goes down everybody thought I was mad at them I said no leave me alone I'll be fine I was calling to the office so many times I know you're out of work with surgery I know you're for your nerves I know you're out for this and that I just turned around Mice And You Know It I know more than you 😢I can do more than you I used to set up housekeeping in the bank I used to do all kinds of stuff my panda dial 911 I've had to break up fight, have had to run over to the bar break up fights over there I am 57 and 125 pound girl and they are too afraid of walking around the building at 9 but which needs to be done. Janelle is suited for polygamy in that she will work for the whole, does not need to be in control and is willing to share a hubby. Christine too worked for the whole But she wants her hubby to herself (and that is ok;) Meri could not work for the whole And we All know Robyn is so full of anxieties she is selfish AF as is Kody.
Every single time a wife disagrees with him he constantly flies back to "they can't do polygamy." Like he tried to shed a positive light on polygamy but he has, over the years, proven why polygamy doesn't work. You have to all be in harmony, but he is constantly creating the drama. HE cannot do polygamy. And the NERVE of him to act like a Janelle is a gold digger. "YoU OnLy SeE mE aS A rEsOuRcE." Boyyyyyy you need to BE a resource to be seen as one!

What's really appalling about his statement re only being a resource to her, is its TOTAL PROJECTION. He was a leech to her financial resources. Apparently not only did she cash in her 401k for the family, she also sold a home she inherited and gave the money to the family pool. This whole thing is utterly unfair and enraging.

The only wife that used him for his resources is Robyn. She never brought in money. She is the only one that has a mansion house. She also owns the biggest amount of coyote pass. She has all those expensive things in the mansion. He is living with the one that hasn't given anything back to the family at all. She has had a nanny the whole time and none of the other women have anything like she does. It makes me sick!

When they first moved to Vegas Janelle was worried about their money situation and the fact she left a great job in Utah, then Robyn announces she is pregnant with Sol, she wasted no time at all, she asked Janelle why she was upset, she said because they already had so many mouths to feed (also the 3 Robyn brought in) and only a finite amount of money, yet Robyn never worried, that spoke volumes to me.

My husband and I have been married close to 14 years. No way are we the same people. We are 37 and 41 now. We allowed our love to age. We grew together. That isn't something any of these relationships had any chance of. Kody is gross. Inside, and out.

100% agree. This is also why they keep floating the idea of counseling. They want to pretend to work on the issue, the whole time listening to the wives while taking notes. I would even add, let them find out about your plan after it has been executed. Otherwise they will do everything in their power to derail your exit.

Last season Robyn’s house was an asset, he stated then when wanting to buy Christine’s house. He word vomits whatever suits him and whatever situation he’s trying to manipulate.
He DOES want things different. He wants them all to take lessons from Robyn on how to better "respect" him (aka manipulate him without him knowing to protect his ego).

I swear, listening to one of your videos is as valuable as six therapy sessions. Um, who are you, where are you from and are there more like you? Because you are one of the few who are restoring my faith/hope in men. The way you describe navigating emotions, as if it’s the rational thing to do, makes me so happy. Because it is the rational thing to do, emotions are just signals our brains are making to help us navigate the different environments, situations and people we experience, exploring those emotions helps us discern the truth and the best way to survive. I think it’s pathetic that Janelle and Christine couldn’t have a husband that could take a few day trip to see THEIR older children and grandchildren. Both had to raise young children or work without having Kody there everyday. But now, he cannot leave Robin and his “tender aged kids” to give a shit about his other kids. All the resources go to Robin, Kody and her kids. As Christine said, “Robin never lived plural marriage”. I can’t imagine your husband not giving you attention or time, but the nail in the coffin is not caring to go see your shared children together.. that are now in various locations. Janelle knows she is never going to live a fair existence with Kody and the heartbreak of how he treated their children is unforgivable.

Janelle wasn't "stupid", she was being loyal to her beliefs and her chosen family. She was taken advantage of because she was unwilling and unable to do the very things that Robyn and Kody do to others. I can only imagine how heartbreaking it was for her when she realized how she had been tricked and used. Of course, she felt stupid initially, but I hope/think she has moved on from that and realized her ability and her worth to herself and others and will be better able to assess where to place her loyalty. Those of us who operate like Janelle know the feeling of broken loyalty to those like Kody and Robyn in life and work. We have to get to a point where we create boundaries, but still are willing to commit and be loyal. We learn when to cut ties with users and remove our loyalty.
But those beliefs are stupid so...

Am I the only person that thinks that Kody, and by extension, Robyn will have their finances examined by outside agencies…..
Meri gave Robyn $300,000 from the sale of her Vegas home and Janelle gave Robyn $250,000 from the sale of her home so there was a nice chunk put down. Kody and Robyn should at the very least give Janelle back her $250,000 so she can get a home. But Kody & Robyn won’t see it that way because they think everything is there’s only.
Why did Janelle & Meri give so much money so Kody could buy his soul mate a mansion to live in? Does not make good financial sense.

I think Meri, Jenelle and Christine lived together for 16 years and always shared money and helped each other so they never dreamed things would end up the way they did and they would be as financially screwed as they were.

have you ever noticed that we know nothing of Kody and Robyn's marriage? We have Kody dealing with Meri, dealing with Janelle and dealing with Christine but never Robyn.
What exactly is Robyn paid for? We know nothing about her or the children, they have zero story line.
Basically the OG3 paid for Robyn’s mcmansion and they won’t get any of that equity back
Grody went to that "appointment " thinking, like always, that he would swoon her & when she pushed back, it shook him. Now he's scrambling to think of what to do now.
Robyn is super demanding that Kody fix Janelle and Kody's relationship so Janelle and her money do not leave. So Kody sickeningly throws "love" vomit on Janelle making Janelle waver in her decision to stay separated. Did you see her blush! When she stated she is wanting to stay separated to Kody then he throws at her that all she wants is his pecs, abs and resources. Kody is now very insecure and will receive Robyn's wrath to fix it now.

Meri & Christine outsmarted Wile E. Coyote Pass by purchasing their own homes. (Meri rented in Flagstaff, but bought her B&B herself.) But Janelle and her firm adherence to the "principle of plural marriage" has screwed herself royally. EVERYTHING she did was for "the family". Not for her family. Now she has a choice: She can stay "stuck and stagnant" in Dysfunction Junction, AZ with Kody and Robyn a put up with their insanity as she clings to that damn property, or cut her losses, sell her camper, use the money as a down payment to buy a home in Utah. (Flagstaff is very expensive.) She could write a tell-all book and make millions. And tell Kody and Robyn they can keep their prairie dog disease ridden pond and property. Freedom is priceless.
The book is a great idea for Janelle. The RV - not sure if she’s make money there. She just bought it and has probably only made a few payments on the interest. Those RV are pretty much in demand now so she could break even.
@@CF-jj3pq Do we know if she's making payments or did she pay cash? I can't remember if we were ever told. However, we know that Janelle doesn't require all the bells and whistles to be happy. She could find herself a modest house in a cheaper state and be just fine. Look how happy Christine was as soon as she left all that Kody chaos and insanity behind. There is surviving, and then there's thriving. A small farmhouse somewhere with a few acres would be perfect for her.

I feel bad she cashed in her 401k for the family aka Robyn’s house. I think she could show proof of that in court and get money from those two crooks. Best recap so far. So many people watching this show forget how much money the OG 3 have sunk into this relationship/family. And theybwillinglybdid it to support their family and religious ideal. Especially Janelle. When you're in love, you want to trust the ones you love, but when relationships sour, it is hard to undo the generosity of the past. The home that Janelle owed before she wed Kody and her 401K cash out should have all been documented as liquid assets coming from her into the family. But I honestly don't know if it would have made any difference legally. But she could at least prove beyond any doubt that she brought in assets. She would have the satisfaction of at least proving Kody wrong on that point. Kody has amnesia for certain facts and gets "creative" with his explanations to try to outwit the OG3. He lies, he manipulates, and through his manipulations, he gaslights the OG3 into thinking their story line or memory is not reality. Kody says so many preposterous lies the women do start to question their truth. And that's the gaslighting part of Kodys manipulation.
These women believed Kody loved them. As quirky or harsh as he was, they believed he loved them, cuz they loved him.

Narcissistic ppl are very good at barely working or contributing, and manipulating others like a wife to give give give.....usually until they take it all from you, and that's where Janelle is. He depleted her entirely. When she is no longer able to work and give he would have replaced her, and left her destitute. It's what Narcissistic ppl do. It's the truth. She has to count her losses and find a new route to provide for herself and her future. Purchase a rental property for herself. Something for extra income. I'm sure she gets enough TLC $ to do that.

I doubt Kody's real estate knowledge. Kody sent Janelle and Christine to school to get their realtor licenses. Kody did not bother to learn to ins and out it himself. Now they are gone and he cannot draw on their knowledge. He dreams big without the knowledge to execute it. Kody is up the creek without a paddle.
He dreams big with absolutely no follow through. Take coyote pass he never looked into it enough to find out that these lots are in need of all utilities to be put in. Including water and sewer. That's multi million type stuff and he had NO clue. He never has a realistic dream with any idea how to make it happen. I guess he thinks that riding that unicorn on the rainbow will get him from point A to B. It also seems that the family usually ends up in a bad financial sitch and that's when Kody decides to move....as if they can't be found or the issue miraculously disappears cuz they moved!

Kody redefined the relationships during COVID when he wanted obedience and patriarchy. The wives are now just saying NO! I think it’s why they women keep saying he has changed. Someone said that it was when he was with Joe Barlow that something clicked that he wasn’t doing polygamy right. He has been an a** h*** ever since expecting loyalty and saying they all were betraying him. I hope Christine and Janelle just continue the family without Kody and Robyn!!!
I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the Vegas move! In my opinion their excuses for leaving Vegas didn't make sense. I think the real reason behind the move wasn't just Dayton going to college in AZ, I think Ko-Ro were sick of having the kids and wives close by, they were sick of them being able to come find Kody, Robs wanted to isolate her kids to control them more, Robs didn't want the wives to see her shopping bags/boxes and expensive items, Ko-Ro wanted uninterrupted privacy, we know Robyn's bestie Kendra said Ko-Ro lay in bed all day while the nanny raises the kids, Ko-Ro wanted their privacy, they wanted their family to be separate so they could get more time with Kody and not have to share. The reason why they moved to Vegas to begin with was because that's where Robyn's stepdad is from, that's where he lived with his first wife and kids while Robyn's mom, wife #2, and her kids lived in UT and WY (I think) but shortly before the Brown's moved to Vegas, Robyn's mom moved to Vegas with her husband. Robyn convinced Kody to pick Vegas to live so she could be close to her parents. Every move since the first move was all for Robs.
I agree with this analysis 100%. Like you said the first move to Vegas makes zero sense, and the subsequent moves became more and more ridiculous.

Narcissists are extremely insecure and they don't know who they are as people, that's why they have to have constant compliments, praise and attention. They seem like they have a high opinion of themselves but it's actually a front, it's superficial, most of their emotions are superficial as well but they have no ability to self reflect or see how their actions effect others, everything is about them and people are just tools to meet their needs. They can't self soothe or fill their own tanks, they rely on others to fill their emotional tanks for them. They feel numb inside and bore easily, this boredom is why Kody feels the need to move frequently, it's also likely why he's struggled to keep jobs. Kody's mental issues and his need to please Robyn is the reasons for the moves. Kody jumps through hoops because in his mind he's nothing without the admiration and attention Robs gives him. Robyn completely controls Kody, while Robs is calling him a "manly man" and making him feel like some macho god, she's only saying that to manipulate him to get what she wants, she's the master, he's just her puppet, her b*tch boy, but he's not smart enough to see it. He's still griping about Christine a year later and blaming her for every problem in his life and doesn't want anyone in the family to speak to her and was verbally abususive to her in front of the family. She has been using him for "assets" and his hunky bod (WTF) - he says she has the same assets he has. Who is he even talking to? Yup. In my early 20's I was 100% career focused. I figured I would establish my career, then maybe do a family if it was possible later.
I was running my own restaurant (in a small chain) by age 24 and on track to be a VP by 35. I worked 80-90 hours a week, took care of my staff and would cover shifts for anyone who wanted it. I gave all of myself to that job and I thought I had built a real work family there.
Then I got sick because I didn't have time for myself. I still went in to work, but eventually, I wore out. I lost 30 lbs in a month and ended up being checked into the hospital for a whole week. Not one of the people I worked with came to visit me. Not my boss, my other managers or staff. I could have died there and no one would have cared. I lay in that hospital bed alone for a week, and it changed me.
Not long after, I left the job to be with my husband. We have two kids who are the focus of my life. I had to be in the hospital for a week when I had my last child, and I was surrounded by family and love. 10/10 would leave that job again.
I'm glad you re-centered on to your happiness. Jobs are like that. They will have you thinking the place would close if you weren't there, but if you dropped dead at your desk they would have your job posted before the ambulance left the parking lot.

Janelle did have a property in her name in LV - BUT she and Meri gave Robyn and Kody the equity they received for the down payment on the McMansion. Then Janelle rented and didn't buy a house. I understand she wanted to build on CP, BUT she should've protected herself and bought something after seeing everyone else having R/E in their name (Meri - B&B). That was Janelle's biggest mistake IMHO. She could sue and get a lien on the property for repayment of the money she gave them if she can document it was not a gift. Also, Meri, Christine and Janelle need to have a forensic accounting done on the LLC that they were all members of to determine how much of that expensive (but god awful) "art" and purchases Robyn was making are really assets of that LLC. That is where I get frustrated is their reluctance to advocate for what is rightfully their's.

IMHO - if Christine and Janelle were able to voice their opinion about bringing Robyn in the family and they made that decision by "committee" as Christine states they had been doing all along, I don't think it would've broken down. I think that was one decision that only Meri as first wife and Kody made w/o input from Janelle and Christine and they were not on board. It should've been made clear from beginning that moving into the "big house" when in Utah was part of the deal (or dill as Robyn would say). Instead, Robyn was like the "stepmom" - and her family was Kody's "new family" - Kody was the one to break off from polygamy and pursue a more monogamous relationship with Robyn - he's the one who can't do polygamy, not the other wives.

I really hope you can recover quickly and move on to a better life without having to worry about having a place to live. Since I haven’t been through everything that you have in your relationship with Kody I can’t tell you what to do but I have been married to a narcissist and it wasn’t easy. It's all about her relationship with Christian. That's the sticking point. Christine has been her family. What would it say about Janelle, after all that time, if she cut out someone so close to her? None of them would have what they have without the sacrifice Janelle has made. Talk about a resource. Kody has a very short memory and a little poverty might be what he needs.
My mother taught me to 'pay my own way' so nobody controls me. I've paid my own way, and more, as Janelle has. I have refused to be so 'in love' I stopped caring about me, though. Whatever this has cost Janelle, she needs to refocus, and make back what she's so freely given away. She's smart, and able. She can do it. What she made once, she can make again. Say a prayer for the leaches, shed 'em, and be happy!

Very good outlook on life!!! I have lived my life similarly, but for a different reason. I grew up extremely poor and was moved every single year. I wanted stability for my children and for me. I made sure that came to pass, on my own, with hard work. I will never owe anybody anything. I was once told by a man, I was too independent, lol. He went to the curb. Are men ever told they are too independent?

As a Realtor, regarding the property …. A Quit Claim deed can be done to remove or add people to or from a property. It is not expensive but all parties have to agree. Janelle can have Kodys name removed with a quit claim deed done by an attorney.
Yes, people who have careers where this is a higher chance of lawsuits, lawyers, doctors, and such, have the quitclaim deed signed by the wife, BEFORE, putting it solely in her name.

Anything in kodys' shared name with Robyn is still something that is Kodys and if she went after him for child support or anything from the former LLC that was in all of their names. That's what needs to be discussed. This family didn't do financial things like normal families. The family fund was under an LLC in all of their names and changes things.
