Recently, Kody has been on a binge trying to disassociate himself from the OG3. On first blush, this disrespect just seemed to be on par for Kody, but after thinking about it during the most recent Tell All it occurs to me that he is actually acting out of his own insecurities. He is belittling his relationships with the OG's to ingratiate himself to Robyn.

Kody can sit on the confession couch and cry about being love sick but can't shed a tear for Ysabelle regarding her surgery.
Then have the audacity to say to her. She should go by herself. To a very risky life changing surgery. Only to try to make himself feel better by asking Isabel. If she’s going to be a bitter old woman because of him not being there. As if she’s responsible for his feelings. To make himself feel better. About his shitty decision. truly deplorable.

@@colleen1219 That suggestion that Ysabel go to the surgery by herself was the worst moment of the entire series for me. The fact that he said it in front of Ysabel broke my heart for her. Then he had the audacity to ask her if she was “going to become a bitter old housewife" because he didn't accompany her to the surgery. WTF??? I'll never forgive him for these things.
I’ll never understand why the tell all’s spend so much time allowing Kody to give his thoughts and opinions and less time hearing from the women. It is after all called “Sister Wives”.
The lie last season about a reconciliation with Meri was my breaking point. Not once were they called out on it. That was deliberately hurtful. To a woman who had already been through so much. Robin the advocate doubling down on it was disgusting.
Kody has "joked" that he's misogynistic during the debates they did with people that left polygamy...there's definitely a different vibe when Kody did the Mormonism Live interview and his interview with Suki. And I think part of it breaks down to men and women and Kody's unfortunate view of women. He doesn't want or advocate for 'strong women'. Whether he admits it or not he loves that Robyn is helpless. Her job is to protect her children (I guess with a nanny!) and be his wife servant. It's not her job to be a free thinker or to ask him the hard questions - at least not publicly. If he made Meri jump through his mental gymnastics/hoops in order to love her he will do it to Robyn, and Robyn is taking Kody for a ride. I think Kody is very proud of driving several hours to see Robyn; it's that toxic masculinity "look how far I was willing to go to date this model" and that they're doing it in the pubic eye makes it look like they have some sort of sick fetish. If we love someone we can love that person without an audience.
Because the producers think he is the villain we love to hate. He is just someone we hate. I could do with him riding off into obscurity and hearing he got his comeuppance thru a People Magazine blurb. I really do not care to watch his abuse of these women.
I quit watching when I found out Meri was secretly helping Kody sneak around with Robyn behind the other wives backs. I started watching it again lately. He is as horrible as I thought he was. Meri is so loyal to him, it seems to be at her own expense. I pray she really is finished. Christine and Jeanell are glowing. Robyn is looking rough. She doesn't ever need to talk about the other wives anymore.

Robyn likes taking things that belong to others. Preston from her sister, Kody from the first three wives, Kody from the first 13 children, money from Janelle and Meri for her enormous house, family money for nannies, knick knacks, artwork, jewellery and most of all help and time for her self and her children. Robyn is a taker which implies gross entitlement.

Yes! James is spot on. Kody and Robyn's attraction to each other is not equal. Robyn gave this dude a whole new look with the roids, the manbun and the perm. He's not enough for her. Robyn may be Kody's soulmate or she at least seems like one relative to the other women. But for Robyn Kody is an opportunity and definitely not a soulmate.
In their courting process and relationship in general, Kody did all of the sacrificing(and much of it at the expense of the other wives and kids). I can't think of a single instance where Robyn sacrificed anything for Kody or his extended family.
Robyn was sobbin when she said that Kody is being mean to her, and when Suki asked him why, he said he was doing it to punish himself. This guy is more than just messed up. He is a psychopath. And I believe Robyn was behind the ring melt down.
Suki acts drugged or drunk. She doesn’t look healthy. Another person could do it better.
In their book Kody said he had to delay marrying Robyn because they couldn't afford the burden of her and her kids, his wives were upset and they wanted the wedding filmed so they had to delay it to make sure it was filmed. That's probably why he was crying 🙄. One of the grossest comments Kody has ever made was "we're gonna be like this" meaning- "I'm not going to be a dad to my kids unless they kiss my wife's ass, even though my wife hates them."
I think Robyn has had this idea from the very beginning. Get Kody to divorce Meri. Marry Kody herself. Now she gets HALF of all his stuff! If she can get it from him before the other women get what's owed to them, then oh well.
Kody being lovesick in front of Christine and needing her for emotional support is just so wrong on so many levels IMO. Isn't that something that the basic tenents of polygamy are against? Aren't all wives supposed to be treated equal? The wives have to learn to handle their emotions and overcome jealousy but kody is not doing any of that. He is openly flaunting his feelings for another woman in front of a wife with no regard for anyone's feelings but his own. In this regard kody like Robyn has never practiced true polygamy.
The more I watch and actively dislike Kody, the more I can understand The Dargers. I don't have any investment in their family but I think because they're healthy and stable they are probably not "good Tv". I think Joe Darger does love all of his wives and they seem like mature adults who agreed to do this together. Kody is a man baby that is horribly co-dependent on these women, and Robyn "translating" for him is an embarrassment.

It was a way for them to say they need polygamy and that everybody in the family, including a pregnant wife, recognizes and honors that it's OK to love many women and be with them when you love them. It was an attempt at
1) displaying how it's OK and it's just what you do. 2)show that their love is so strong therefore it must be legalized and normalized so love can flourish the AUB way.
Remember that this groups mission was to petition for legalized polygamy based on their role model of how great it was. They had to uphold that impression. C still upholds that original goal to make it look good, when at a recent event she was smiling and saying, see polygamy is a success.

Yes Robyn has owned up to bringing debt into the family but they've shelved that; no interviewer I know of has alluded to or asked about Robyn's lifestyle or shopping habits. Or maybe this is on the "no go questions list" 🙄 what Robyn was telegraphing by claiming that is "I'm expensive" and/or "high maintenance". The OG3 discussed their modest wedding experiences. I think they chose that because they wanted to begin families and it wasn't about shopping or opulence or whatever. Robyn isn't looking at it from the perspective of, "I got into debt and have reformed" she's getting into it from the perspective of "I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing, and of course a good husband (and/or wives) are going to factor my expensive tastes into their budgets" you can wear designer clothing Robyn but you are white trash.

I don’t think they look alike. I think Robin is quite opposite of his Mother in appearance and personality. I do think Cody’s relationship w his Father and Mother play a very large part in all of this.He has the Mother wound and it shows. His Father was annoyed by Cody and his brother was favored. There is some interesting history in all of this. It’s also strange that Janelle’s Mom became Cody’s parents sister wife.
Kody’s always put parts of his life in separate boxes. It was obvious from the beginning he was keeping Robyn separate from the OG3. Robyn seemed happy to oblige. She had little interest in having them mother her kids.

Kody sees those who give him unconditional love as being less than. All narcissists devalue you eventually. When the narcissist dumps you it is called "the discard". They often will find people that are needy and clinging that will allow them to hoover and discard them repeatedly. Meri is the person that Kody has done this to. He promises her reconciliation, just enough to give her hope, and then he discards her. Over and over and over again. This is why she does not believe it is truly over. She has been through this cycle over and over again. Kody does not respect people who love him because he doesn't believe he is lovable deep down. Anyone that gives him unconditional love isn't worthy of respect, because he knows that deep down he is a terrible person, and so if these women love him they must be fools and unworthy of him. His hatred of Christine is that she escaped to a new man and that she doesn't give him the narcissistic supply of the hoover. He can't come in and hoover her back to a place of unconditional love.
Narcissists want pure love. In fact, they romanticize the perfect and pure love. They paint the object of their love as being ideal. And Robyn is this ideal love for Kody. He chased her. Those other women chased him. They loved him even when he showed them how unworthy he really is. But Robyn won't. He knows Robyn won't put up with the same discarding behavior he has inflicted on the others. Therefore he doesn't have Robyn. Robyn will leave him. Robyn has led him on a very long chase. But Kody doesn't really love Robyn. Kody loves that Robyn has higher standards. If he can meet those standards that makes him a superior and better man than the other men he imagines would value Robyn. It is all ego for Kody. He is one of the smallest and meanest men I have ever seen

Narcissists are weird in that they only want something if other people want the same thing. They can only covet, envy and be jealous of. He thinks other men are envious of him therefore it makes him happy to think he's envied. Now .... The wives have shattered his image of competency and virility and one of them married up twice over. I think it's important to note that Kody's insecure desperation causes a disconnection within himself as well as with Robyn.
He is incapable of receiving love. He doesn't know what it means to step up and be responsible or accountable.
If he knew love and was able to give love, the OG3 would've been his heart and home.

I wonder what a shell of a man Kody will become when Robyn leaves him. He'll be broken. Good. It's what he deserves. I honestly feel that Kody needs to face his faults and stop blaming the OG wives and children ,,. He needs to see what he has done and is doing to his family and face its his fault and many of his kids are kind enough to accept him back ;.. lucky man

Hi, James - I think you could be right about Kody being insecure about Robyn, possibly because he's in love with her and doesn't want to lose her. But I also think that if he loses Robyn, then he's the last man standing. All his wives will have left him. And that would be a devastating blow to his ego, his sense of self. And I think yes, Robyn could very well be preparing to dump him and will want to hold on to her victim status. So she will blame this on the other wives too. Like, Kody is treating her badly because he's been so broken by the other wives. And I'll bet you she has been holding the threat of her leaving over Kody's head all this time. She must be very sure of his devotion to her, because let's face it - she ain't as cute as she used to be. She's let herself get dumpy and frumpy, so she's not relying on her physical presence to hold him.

Kody is doing his usual gaslighting and reverse psychology. He wants to stop bedroom romps with her but doesn’t want to stop Janelle giving him her cash. So he claims he wants romance with her only. So she can return to his life platonically but still give him her cash. My guess is Janelle was seduced by him all those years hence why she gave her money away. I don’t know why Janelle was so smug in tell all she has been used too. Part 2 really sickened me. You can tell a lot by someone who kicks someone when they already down. Meri has issues for sure but they all do. Glad this season is ending soon I’m quite over it.
I agree with you. He’s attractive to Robyn , but Robyn saw dollar signs and a show, she even said, I don’t care what they look like as long as the person can take care of my children and me . That’s what she cared and cares about, but the minute he can’t give her what she wants ROBYN IS GONE .

Kody said that Janelle wanted to join the family, but when she joined, it was just he and Meri... Janelle created a large portion of the family by having 6 kids so unless by "resource" Kody meant sperm donor, then i have no idea what he was talking about or referring to as far as resource. He thinks hes protecting Robyn or specifically hurting Janelle but i think this ultimately hurts the kids more than anything and it probably damages some of the relationships between the wives children.
If Robyn leaves Kody now she would try to get half before the other wives get the chance since she is the legal wife. No decent judge would allow her anything until the ones that worked for the money get their share first

I remember watching an early episode where they saw some high school classmates of Kody and they said he was flamboyant and that everyone thought he was gay. They were surprised when he married. I’m bringing this up because maybe he was picked on? I have noticed how mean and hateful he has gotten versus when he first started.

James, I think robyn wanted polygamy in separate homes where she was the favored wife. I find it funny that he dragged Janelle so much but when pushed about it he shuts down. I keep thinking about how he probably thought he was a God in bed until Christine left when he was using it against her as punishment. Then he starts getting scared he won't be able to please Robyn since she was already experienced before getting with him. He met the OG wives before they did anything with anyone else.
I agree, James. Janelle wanted children and relations. She didn’t want or need a man in her life trying to direct her. I also think that is why she would consider another plural marriage. Also, she may not want to put the time and energy into a relationship. She has stuff to do!

I truly think that Robyn's mother taught her how to be the favorite wife. Robyn got all of her chores done and kept her kids quiet when Kody was around. It's not just the act of having to cowtow to the emotions of their husband's childish whims; it's having to sit through his undeniable willingness to humiliate both himself and these women-- women who have stuck by him through thick and thin-- by default. The game was never about mutual respect, it was about coddling Kody's manchild fantasy world. Kody put that reality on display, and that was the beginning of the end after that. You can't pretend you're a person of stable thoughts and feelings after selling out that profusely. Things just don't work that way.
