- TLC's Sister Wives has returned for it's 18th season and the hypocrisy, inconsistencies, and out right lights are being exposed.
Janelle takes the time to look Kody in the eye and ask him about their daughter, Savanah. Unfortunately, Kody isn't emotionally intelligent enough to realize that Janelle's breaking point is how he treats her children.
In this video I have to point out the absurdity of Kody always making excuses for his bad behavior. Repeatedly I've heard him berate his "wives" for not being accountable and responsible for their actions. Yet, he continues to ignore his family's needs then when confronted with that fact he deflects and hides.

He and Aurora were bawling cause they were separate in the same house for 10 days. And she is an adult. Something ain’t right.

I don’t believe that story for a minute. Kody was trying to make a point, that even I. Their home they abused by the strict rules. So everyone else should have been able to do that. Bogus!!!
Given the earring scenes and the carrying up the stairs scene I do believe that Robyn’s kids have separation anxiety and the parents clingy. After Kody’s father’s wife’s funeral he didn’t stay with Janelle after violating COVID rules to attend their mom bonus/mom/MIL funeral he went right to Robyn’s house and picked up Ariella and kissed her and kissed Robyn. No self isolating. 4 days not with Sol and Ariella and Robyn was too much. Forget Truely is a year older than Sol. She does not count. Then he finds out there are test kits so the rest of the family can gather if they test so Xmas is not spoiled. Does he really think he is fooling anyone? Kody was a mental mess during his own household having it. 99.6 is not a fever. Telling those girls Robyn still might die after the ER doctor sent her home was awful. Going to ER no problem with that but that should have set the parents telling the kids she was going to be fine. Not that she could still die. And then they blame the one kid they can’t throw out for bringing it home when any of them could have been the first patient. They put the older girls through hell just to carry on the delusional narrative Kody has been putting forth. @@laneneal3510

To Kody, the kids are extensions of their mothers so if he’s not speaking or interacting with the mom, then the kids suffer. It’s punishing the mom.
My biological father did that. When he divorced my Mom, he left me and my brother behind. Then he repeated the same behavior when he divorced his second wife and left behind one daughter. He would have done it again, but the mother of his last child beat him to the punch. So that one he took back to his mother to raise. And he never supported any of his children. Till the end of his life, he never felt a twinge of regret. (Or at least he never verbalized it to anyone)

Look at what a good father you are when your oldest son is making breakfast for the younger kids before he leaves for school. Kody is nothing but a donor.

I'm happy for Savannah that she has four older brothers to look up to as male role models, because her dad just doesn't cut the mustard in the male role model arena. And I'm afraid he never will.

James, I love how your prospective can be applied to anyone. This was a difficult episode to watch because he mentioned feeling used by Janelle. He stated that she is interested in his body. It was beyond insulting after almost thirty years of partnership. It was disgusting and insulting. I can't help but think what he would say and do if it wasn't being filmed for the masses.

He has overestimated the value of "his body." He's gross. I can't believe he has be lucky enough to have these women let him get close enough to them to let him produce children.
Especially after years of both saying how they were each others best friend and how their relationship wasn't one based on the mushy stuff but more on that connection.

He has emotionnally messed up so many of his kids that it’s a real tragedy in my book. Forget your heaven kingdom, your job is here and now. Too many of his girls married so young to the first guy who paid attention to them. He’s such a bad male influence for his sons. He’s already leaving a big mess for them to deal with. Tragic.

It's so weird that he wants a relationship with Truely now, but not Savanah. She's just a few years older (since only the younger kids are worthy of attention anyway).

It stuns me how childish he is in his parenting. He loves only those who adore him. That's not parenting, parenting is loving them through it all, being there with them through it all.
If I recall correctly, Jenelle was basically forced into buying a camper because Cody would not buy her a house! And then when she got the camper, he refused to stay there because it was “too small “so then she goes into the apartment because she doesn’t want to freeze in a camper in the winter time and he doesn’t want to stay at the apartment because it’s “too small”! Cody always had a place at Janelle’s. He chose not to go there! He is choosing not to have a relationship with his children.PERIOD!
He always has an excuse for everything and just can’t take responsibility for anything.
Kody continues to educate us about how narcissists act. He constantly deflects any kind of responsibility or blame and accuses others of doing the very things he does. He generally as an excuse for everything - excuses which often make no sense whatsoever. He must have been stunned when Janelle didn't beg to be let back into his good graces - after all he's so smart (using big words he doesn't even understand) and so "hot" (in his own mind) and he is the total financial support for the family (not even in his dreams!!). Those stray tendrils on his forehead sprouting from that tiny spot on his balding pate are so distracting - oh, and NOT HOT!! Janelle is seeing Kody as he is choosing to be at this time of his life - he is not the man she knew, loved and married 30+ years ago. When a person finally sees the narcissist for who he is, it is confusing and heartbreaking. They are chameleons and we can never really know them.
He used the word transmute as much as he could during that episode, and judging by context he had no idea what it meant. What Manosphere influencer was he getting it from?

I think Kody left Janelle after their lunch thinking he had woo’d her and she would settle back in to the way things had always been. Her income is important to him.

I believe he wants an excuse to not be in one place. Ther was an episode where the women spoke about not knowing where Kody was many times. He wasn’t at the house he told them he was going to. No where to be found. He just used them as excuses also.
I don't think Kody wants a physical relationship with Janelle. He wants her smarts and money. He started turning on the charm after Janelle stated that she wanted to stay separated. And she almost melted. She still loves him. I really think Kody thought that he could treat Janelle like crap and she would stay.
According to both Kody and Janelle their physical relationship was very high energy, so he does (did) want her that way.
I think Janelle is playing along with Kody to get her money right...so she can leave. I also don’t think she loves or respects him due to the way he has treated her kids... especially Savannah
Kody can take Robyn's daughters ears pierced but can't take five minutes to call his biological daughter on Christmas.Unreal and very callous on Kodys part.He socks as a dad to 13 out of the 18 kids.
Logan was more of father than Kody could ever hope to be. He got the kids up (at least the ones he had with Janelle and probably while Christine was at work), made breakfast and probably got them to school. Whether that was waiting with them for the bus or whatever. Please correct me if I'm wrong because it's been a while since I've watched the earlier episodes. I remember that Christine home schooled the youngest but didn't the other kids go to school outside the house?
Also, Truely is one year older than Robin's youngest but he won't spend time with her. While placing importance on spending time with the "youngest" kids meaning Robin's kids.

This is exactly how my father was after my parent’s’ divorce. My father wasn’t interested in connecting with us anymore. I was 5 when he left. I’ve always wondered why men do this. It’s like they associate the child with the mother too much. So strange to me. I’d die before I let go of my relationship with my children.

One thing that confuses me about this show is before Robyn they were a family living in one house. Since Robyn joined they act as separate families. Why doesn't Janelle and Savannah stay with Kody and Robyn? Meri has always had a huge house to herself, why couldn't Janelle and Savannah have stayed with her? Not Kody is saying he can't spend time with Savannah because he doesn't interact with Janelle... why doesn't he take savannah to his house he owns with Robyn? Family takes care of family. I've had my mother and both my sisters stay with me when they were having hard times. Kody is making this way to complicated.
I am 100% sure that Jeanelle would rather live in a cardboard box than with either Robyn or Meri at this point in the game.

When the kids were little, he probably flew in, wound the kids up and then moved on to the next family. He was all about the fun, but I doubt he did nothing to help raise them. I doubt he's working. His understanding of their religion is; Get as many wives as you can, make lots of babies, of course the women have to help support, be it financially or physically, they nurture the kids and teach them obedience for their father and the religion. I don't think Kody was ever a good father. A good dad and mom don't keep conceiving more babies when you can't feed the kids and wives you always have. The women have covered for him all these years. I really hope that Cody watches this because he can only hear this from another man. You are 1000% right about him being a father. He is just making excuses. I had a great father too. There were six of us kids and he never stopped trying to help us. We all had to have college educations because he didn’t. And he knew it would be better for us and easier for us in life if we had that. He never stopped helping even when he passed at 85. You are absolutely right

Yes James! If Kody's children were bags of money, Kody would turn into the Monopoly Man with ramen hair. There are zero "six-packs" on this show (except for the beer and skittles). Kody thinks he's a damn body double in Thor. I've worked with people who have spent time in mental institutions with fewer delusions and a better grip on reality than Kody.

James, can you do a video about how Janelle has clearly always wanted more from Kody but never asked for it and accepted the bare minimum. It's not her independence or strong nature. I think it's the result of her growing up with her cold and emotionally unavailable stepfather and also Meri's rage toward her when Janelle spent time with Kody. Janelle decided not to demand what she deserved because she knew she wouldn't get it -from stepfather or Kody. She's made it so easy for kody with her low standards and no expectations and still he disappointed. Also, I've always found it obvious that Janelle has been Robyn's only real competition for Kody's love and affection from the beginning. Robyn rarely mentions her. Robyn knew the only way she could compete with her was to play needy victim that he had to protect, which turned Kody off from the strength and power he loved about Janelle from the start.
So right. Then asking her to come back bc they had something good, but I have some restrictions. What a dumb ass move. And then his surprised. I don’t think Kody has two brain cells to rub together. He really thinks it’s all about him and these damn women are just not getting it right. What does a man have to do? 🥴🥴🥴

(It’s the mothers responsibility to see to it Kody has those #’s) so that tells me, since those boys had phones, he hasn’t called or text them for God knows how long. Which says the boys were right. Part of the reason I loved and respected my father so much was because I could see how much he loved and respected my mother, his wife. He was so good to her every day of his life.
Did you notice Kody was speechless and couldn't justify why if you were mad at your sons, you dont ignore your daughter who hadn't done anything, she just wanted to hear from her dad on Christmas
Kody keeps claiming the little kids need him more, but there is less than 2 years between Truly and Sol, but she never got the same attention. He acts like she is one of the older kids.
He knows she sees thru him. He thinks if he shows up now all lovey dovey she’ll know it’s fake and it is!
When I heard Kody say he was good looking, my stomach turned🤮 there’s nothing appealing about that poor excuse of a man. I keep hearing Meri has left already, and I’ve heard they’re filming more seasons, I hope not! Meri is concerned about how Robyn will take her leaving to move her business to Utah, all Robyn is gonna do is fake cry and say she doesn’t understand why she wants to leave

Kody paid attention to his kids when they were small and easily manipulated. When they got older and began to get a wider view of the world they began to see who he really is. When they began to question him he checked out. Kody likes to be surrounded by people who believe the bs.

This season has been validating for me personally. My ex did the same "the phone works both ways." It was nice hearing from other adults that that kind of behavior is out of bounds.
It's validating for me too. When I stopped making the weekly phone calls my dad disappeared from my life. My brother keeps trying to get me to call dad "the phone works both ways" telling me my dad misses me. My dad is the adult. He should call me if he misses me so much.

Kelly Clarkson has a song inspired by her own relationship with her father who neglected her as a child and a line that perfectly sums up Kody's approach/neglect as a father : "Back then I didn't have anything you needed, so I was worthless."
Savannah has nothing Kody thinks he needs/wants, so she's worthless to him and he feels no obligation to take any part in her life. That's what makes him so evil.

@@laneneal3510 exactly. The mothers do not bad mouth the father, they acknowledge the basic truth that he is not treating the children well. Imagine a child who is neglected and mistreated by their father being told by the mother how wonderful the dirt bag is. That would be additional trauma to the children.

I always loved Janelle, her quiet subtle way is beautiful, it screws with Kody and Robyn, and she handles things patiently, kindly and with great dignity.

Whilst Savannah shouldn't be anywhere near someone who is as toxic as Kody is, TLC shouldn't be filming someone emotionally and physically neglecting their children, it isn't even remotely entertaining, it is disgusting. Again, this is TLC all over, they dumped Colin in some institution and tried to carry on filming Kate plus 8. The network must be ran by crackheads, because anyone decent would pull this show or tell Kody to shape up. He would shape up if he knew who could lose his income.

Kody reminds me a lot of my dad. He was great until i turned 13 and started to question him. Packed up my stuff in garbage bags and told my mum hes done. Didnt see him again until i was 18.
