Also, financial abuse. Janelle gave half of the money from the sale of her Las Vegas home so that he could have his home with Robin and she is living in an apartment. He didn't care where she lived with their children but got angry that she didn't consult him about buying the 5th wheel.

James, I think he knows it's important for him to have a relationship with his kids, and he purposely doesn't, knowing it's gonna be a deal breaker in his relationships with his OG3. He knows. I watched seasons 1-5 of Sister Wives when the show was first aired, and I stopped watching, except a random episode here and there, for YEARS because I couldn't handle how Kody treated his wives and kids. I've come back into the fold only since season 17 because I was so excited about them leaving him, FINALLY. I just think everyone deserves so much more than what any of the wives, other than Robyn, get from Kody.

Janelle seemed like she was happy just being in the background as a support player and it is really about time that she takes the lead in her life. I think she justified staying for her kids until that realization struck her too….all this time she has really been a single parent. I'd also add how truly beautiful it is that, having realised their own worth, Janelle and Christine have also realised each other's worth, too (Janelle has realised how awesome Christine is, and vice versa). So to see them being really good friends and moving on to greener pastures, without leaving the other one behind, is so satisfying! I bet it's driving Kody mad that they are having a happy relationship without him and he can't manipulate them any more, but the reality is that these ladies held the family together without him, know they don't need him, but also that they can rely on each other, and are able to give each other the support they need as they move on to a future without Kody and his horrific 4th wife.
One more thing. Why do we all say her kids. The kids belong to both the mom and dad. They are just as much his kids as they are hers! He has no concept of family.

Its crazy to me that people broke up due to covid and being shut in with their partners and kids, i loved spending more time with my husband and kids it was something that work never allowed us, but those 3 months of lock down brought us closer and were so fun at the house, we gardened together, we hiked together, we rode bikes together, we made paintings together, we read books together, we cooked together, we were making memories that we couldnt do when we went back to work and school in person full-time

What you said about Covid was dead on--seeing people in their true form (esp under pressure) and removing all the typical distractions. It ended a lot of relationships. It's equally true that it strengthened some relationships--the removal of distractions slowed things down and gave people time to spend quality time together again--couples and families.

You can tell the reason Christine is so insecure about dating is because Kody wounded her so deeply by saying cruel things to her to keep her under his control. He thought if he could make his wives feel unworthy of anything better they would never leave.

This episode left me gobsmacked! From Kody's behaviour from the moment he entered the restaurant, to his constant referencing of Christine, to not letting Janelle finish a thought. James, I think he knows it's important for him to have a relationship with his kids, and he purposely doesn't, knowing it's gonna be a deal breaker in his relationships with his OG3. He knows. He's playing that card hoping they'll take offense to it and react. It's the same with the money. He accuses Janelle of wanting him for his finances because he knows that over the decades she's the one worried about finances. He know that statement is not true and will irritate her, it's done on purpose. With Christine he said she never tried to have good relationships with the other sister wives. Because he knows she was the one who threw the parties, organized the social stuff for the whole family. He knows with that statement to Christine is gonna hurt her because she was all about the social part of the family. He's hurting each of them where he knows it'll hurt the most. I'd also add how truly beautiful it is that, having realised their own worth, Janelle and Christine have also realised each other's worth, too (Janelle has realised how awesome Christine is, and vice versa). So to see them being really good friends and moving on to greener pastures, without leaving the other one behind, is so satisfying!
I bet it's driving Kody mad that they are having a happy relationship without him and he can't manipulate them any more, but the reality is that these ladies held the family together without him, know they don't need him, but also that they can rely on each other, and are able to give each other the support they need as they move on to a future without Kody and his horrific 4th wife.

Its crazy to me that people broke up due to covid and being shut in with their partners and kids, i loved spending more time with my husband and kids it was something that work never allowed us, but those 3 months of lock down brought us closer and were so fun at the house, we gardened together, we hiked together, we rode bikes together, we made paintings together, we read books together, we cooked together, we were making memories that we couldnt do when we went back to work and school in person full-time

What you said about Covid was dead on--seeing people in their true form (esp under pressure) and removing all the typical distractions. It ended a lot of relationships. It's equally true that it strengthened some relationships--the removal of distractions slowed things down and gave people time to spend quality time together again--couples and families.
