This show, along with Roc, The Parent'Hood, Cousin Skeeter and Hangin with Mr. Cooper are the most underrated sitcoms of the '90s
And I jus rewatched recently all of these! Your are so right 💪🏾
Very correct, so underrated
Cousin skeeter 😆 🤣 😂 good times good times
I’m watching hanging with Mr cooper. I’m so mad I’m just now getting into this show, it’s soooo good
@@PoyTroy don’t be better late then never love 💪🏾❤️
The 90s really was a Golden Age for black sitcoms and entertainment.
What the hell happened?!
The peak
The Owners of the industry
White Hollywood
So true. I miss that era of black shows.
Hollywood became so afraid of being "problematic" that they became even more racist by making black shows "marketable" to white slacktivists instead of making them about black people living their lives.
The Malcolm & Eddie theme song never gets old
Bruh im telling you! I was watching it on youtube and it was slowed down a lil bit smh that shxt was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Malcolm and Eddie show was a classic. It seems like too much behind the scenes drama pretty much killed the show.
RIP Jaime Cardriche
Well, Malcolm basically described what the work environment entails for most of us everyday folks. You come to work, make that bread, go home. And just try your best to navigate the workplace sans the bullshit. You’re there to make money, not be buddies.
I heard that! 💵 💵 💵
@@JuicyPopEntertainment2:40 wow 🤯😳.
I respect them bothers having issues and still getting it done together and never shittin on each other after the fact.
UPN was such a good station. They put out the most authentically black shows
It’s a bit 50/60 with UPN. They were desperate to get black viewers on their network from 1995 til 1999. As soon as they got WWF Thursday Night SmackDown is when they seen those numbers and said, “We gotta cater to our non-black viewers now.” And then the UPN started to make a bunch of non-black shows that appealed to white audiences. But then wanted to make a new black series or sitcom be silly and negative caricatures of blacks. It’s a reason why Eddie Griffin, Malcolm Jamal-Warner, Ralph Farquhar, Kenny Smith, Kelsey Grammar, and many others fought so hard to keep their black based shows away from negative stereotypes and goofy depictions.
@@RalphJr-xp3hp that’s true, I always thought moesha started to get ridiculous towards the end
@@ccannon1 That's because her mama and brandy wanted more control pf the show during seasons 5 and 6
Facts
@@ccannon1 yeah it did get ridiculous towards season 6 from the fall of 2000 til the spring of 2001. At that time, Brandy Norwood wanted to focus more on her singing career and love life but the sitcom was getting in the way of those two things. So Brandy convinced her brother, Ray J, to take on the main character plot of a majority of episodes in the last season. That’s why most of those episodes during that time felt half assed and out of context plot line wise. But hey most sitcoms do good when going on for about four seasons because once a season five and six are green lit is when the ideas start to rehash and feel old very quick.
MY BROTHER & ME PLEASE🙏🏿!!!! Talkin bout sum " Alfie can you teach me to dance"😂!!!!!!
I second this !!!!
Pissyyyyyyyy at this comment! I really hear Dee Dee RN 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
I love how the show allowed them their original 1st names...it's a nice touch when the stars keep them and just change the last names.
Eddie the cleanest mechanic on earth lol dude never got dirty. This show the wayans bro and the parenthood all came on wgn in the same block and i stayed watching.
Every time I see Eddie Griffin, I hear "Gritz n Gravy. Kansas City, Missouri." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Malcolm & Eddie was a good buddy show. Too young to fully cherish it during its run.
Malcolm & Eddie also premiered on the same day as Sparks and Goode Behavior which also premiered on UPN
Thank you for this video. Can we please get stories on the remaining underrated 90s sitcoms:
The Parenthood
The Wayans Bros
Stay tuned!😉

Talk about great acting! I thought Malcolm and Eddie had EXCELLENT chemistry. Karen and Malcolm were a cute couple! Rest in paradise Vesta Williams and George Duke. 😔🙏🏾❤️🕊️
It seems those who play best friends onscreen never get along in real life vs those who play enemies onscreen are best buds in real life.
Another show to review would be why Grown Ups with Jaleel White got cancelled.
Grown Ups has some of the same staff members who worked on Family Matters. The reason why Grown Ups didn’t get a season 2 is because of Jaleel White’s popularity and identification to Steve Urkel that was so popular the audience couldn’t separate the actor from his onscreen character. Plus, the series just felt basic with no good pay off along with weak jokes. Also, a lot of shows during this time were taking the Living Single and Friends sitcom format of friends living in a big metropolitan city.
@@RalphJr-xp3hpJaleel had too much pressure
I used to watch this after school on UPN in early 2000s. Rip Jamie Cardriche

Sheeeeesh!!!😮💨😮💨😮💨
Malcolm Jamal Warner!! Goodness gracious 😩🤌🏾
Malcolm & Eddie was underrated and funny. Didn't know there was so much drama behind a fun loving show. I'm 50/50 (see what I did) on what Malcolm-Jamal Warner was disusing on "Sway in the Morning". Him coming from "The Cosby Show" and Eddie Griffin coming from "Def Comedy Jam", two different backgrounds but also Malcolm was sounding like a spoiled brat a little bit stuck up, I wasn't feeling that. But I'm glad Malcolm and Eddie both made it work for 4 seasons. Karen Malina White still looks fine too. R.I.P. Vesta Williams, George Duke, and Jaime Cardriche 🕊💐🙏
Never was into this show but love Both of the men though
What is it with Black Shows? Come the 3rd 4th season,"Time To Add A White Person!!!"
They never want us to have our own things 😑
Not that you need them im sure but would love: Wayans Bros,Mamas Family,In The Heat of The Night,The PJs,Boondocks
This show doesn’t get enough credit. This show was ahead of its time and still funny
and they were supposed to have a spin off starring coolio and they made a backdoor pilot for it
I loved this show. I'm a Kansas City native so it was cool to see us and aspects of our culture represented like our teams, history with Jazz, etc.
Ready for the video Juicy Pop 🥳🎉🎉
Fun fact: the actor who played Leonard (Christopher Daniel Barnes) was the voice of Spider-Man in the 90’s series.
I think he was recently in Spider-Man: Across The Spiderverse to reprise his 90s animated series character.
He was also Greg Brady in the Brady Bunch Movies.
Fun fact: Malcolm used to date Michelle Thomas,Karen Melina White from The Cosby Show, and Regina King.
@@larrymarshall8900He was by Michelle Thomas' bedside when she died!!
hey this is the very 1st first time a youtube channel video talked about Jaime Cardriche for real it's about time
I really wish this show could've gotten a proper finale i hated the cliffhanger
Great story on Malcolm & Eddie
Loved the theme song but I wished that this show got a proper ending and not the cliffhanger it got cancelled on.
Loved this show. Eddie is definitely a hometown hero!
A.J. Johnson is a Liability plain N simple.

Keep up the great work
I heard them two didn't really get along its surprising because they had good chemistry.
This was a good show and should have at least been given a short final season to wrap things up. Malcolm should have saw the positive in the show because it was about two young adult black men running businesses and then go into business together despite their differences in views. I just wish they kept Nicolette roommate Bridgette as a companion to her character and tease will they won't they for Malcolm.
Man all the women on that show was fine lol
Interesting how I just had a dream about this show and this popped up. I hope the cast is alright and healthy.
Jamie Cardriche is HILARIOUS in "Double 0 Soul" staring Billy Dee Williams. Anyone seen it?
Malcolm and Eddie was a great sitcom; despite, they didn’t get along with each other. I still don’t understand why they didn’t get along with each other in the first place.
Malcolm stated that Eddie was always late lol and his antics made it hard to work with him. But luckily they were able to squash their beef over the years ❤
That’s good I’m glad they are getting along now. I didn’t know that
@@blakebrown84 me too I love it! 😊 And yup Malcolm’s said it in a few interviews.
Based on Malcolm’s description of UPN as a network as “community college” compared to Cosby being a University…its pretty evident to me why they didnt get along. “Different philosophies” of Blackness.
Hip Hip Hoorayyyyy
I hope you do The Nanny one day.
3:38 I miss malcolm & eddie.
4:15 nice 💯🙂 show.
Have you covered one in one yet?
Is it me or does this show give you "Kenan & Kel" vibes?
2:37 WHEN WAS PAULA JAI PARKER ON THIS SHOW?????
That's the Wayans Brosshe was on the second season.
It's crazy how they want to white wash all black show.
I never was a big fan of the show. There was no real chemistry between Eddie and Malcolm IMO. It showed on the screen that they didn’t get along.
Same! I could never get into it. And crazy cause I love both Eddie and Malcolm 😂
Eddie definitely hated on Karina BTS. He was foul for that and nasty. She was funny and a life of the party. Love that girl
