- American television sitcom The Steve Harvey Show aired on The WB for six seasons from August 25, 1996 to February 17, 2002. The show centred on the character of Steve Hightower, played by Steve Harvey, a ‘70s funk legend with his own music group who is forced by circumstances to take a gig teaching music at an inner-city Chicago high school. Due to budget cutbacks, he’s also roped into teaching drama and art.

I watched The Steve Harvey Show during its original run on the WB and the reruns and I do like the show. I feel that the show got better in season 2 with the addition of Lavida. Speaking of season 2, what happened to the Aisha character? She was on season 2 and then disappeared Midway in the season. I did not know that the lady that played Sophia was 28 in real life. I kind of wish Coretta was in more episodes, I like her character better than Lydia in my opinion.

I'm OBSESSED with the Steve Harvey Show, and have been for over 25 years. I watched the show in its original run and then I have been watching it religiously in syndication since 2002.
I love Lori Beth Denburg from All That, but Lydia ended up getting on my nerves. And I miss Merlin Santana, man. He would have been 48 years old today. RIP.

I was in high school when this show first aired. Honestly, I only watched it when there was nothing better to watch or I had nothing better to do. For me, it was one of the weakest and least funny comedy shows from that era.

Merlin Santana was underrated and sadly he could have been great had he not been killed.

Robin(Coretta)is a homie but doesn’t know me. I loved how she kept calling Lydia what she wanted and trying to push up on Romeo.
Lori Beth(Lydia)played the helluva part. She was always running off down the hall 😂🤣.
Winifred was extremely nasty and condescending, essentially saying steve was an unfunny country bumpkin who can't speak english, and had to be convinced to create a series that covers up his many weaknesses. Goodness

This show was HILARIOUS! I watched this show as a kid and rewatched it a while back and I was howling 😂 the jokes, writing, and characters was A plus! It’s wild this show doesn’t get the credit it deserves! It’s interesting to know Steve wanted to add in more serious topics and I think it would have been funny because the cast was top tier. Great video!

Those reviews were honest and true. This was a show I never went out of my way to watch. I saw a scene once that I thought was funny when Steve was talking about Levita's greens, but there isn't one full episode I can tell you about. I did enjoy watching 'Me and the Boys' back in the day.

I really LOVED the Steve Harvey show,was a BIG fan of Cedric the Entertainer too.I watched this show in re-runs tho ( 1996-to-2002 ) I was in the army and didn't know about this show till later on. The re-runs were often late at night-11:00 or 11:30 pm. There were so many-FINE-looking women on this series too. LOL. HOLLA. Good review on this nice,classic series,enjoyed it a lot.

I never really watched this as new episodes but as I got older I would catch reruns of different shows after school and if I was sick or during the summer but I actually liked this show
