My favorite Kim was in Season 4. I love how she stood up to Moesha in the fourth season(especially when they had that fight about college/the future that one episode) and was confident in her ways and looks.
I feel the same way. In the final season of the show, there was one episode where she was literally holding a book upside down and wondering why it was so hard to read. I saw this scene, and said, "Come on now!"
The Parkers was and still is one of my comfort shows. Its one of those shows that the laugh reel never gets old. Also they were convincing mother and daughter the chemistry is crazy.
I love how Rodney Jerkins capitalized on the new sound shift of R&B in 1998/1999 and made those theme song bangers for The Parkers and Moesha(Season 4). The instrumental was poppin’, the flow was smooth and Kim’s vocals matched the fun of the lyrics. Those were the days of Black people making theme songs that you wish were an actual single on the billboard hot 100 charts. 😅
They were also black women pursuing a higher education. Let’s not forget both Andell and Nicki were small business owners. Also, we had a black man on that show. Who was the professor. I feel that all the characters on that show showed Black people and a beautiful and positive light. it showed people that you could make mistakes and not come from the background and still make something of yourself no matter what your stage in life . Also Just because someone is animated and boisterous does not make them dumb smh
Just to add Kim may have not been a genius, but she got to pursue her dreams. She matured throughout the show. She was married and divorced, but learned about herself. She tried dating and once those relationships didn’t work, she evolved. She found her own set of friends and wasn’t following behind Moesha and or chasing after Hakim (RIP to the actor). She was moving to New York to follow her career goals and was going to be independent again. She was in her own lane and very content.
The show was supposed to be about a girl and her mom going to college together, and even tho they did go to college together, the show was more focused on Nikki and her obsession with the professor.
@@josephclegg3562 yeah, that’s right. They barely had any episodes which revolved around them being in college. They could have done more with that - like them having to work on a group assignment together, or cheating off each other for an assignment, etc. Plus, they were both in community college for 5 years…?
Andell was such a great character to bring in. She played off Nikki so well. The moment I knew she was the right fit was when she said “drop the chalupa” when Niki said she ran out of Spanish things to say 😂 When I tell you I was screaming for days after that! RIP to such a great talent.
I always wanted to know what happened with her and Bernie. Her and Bernie were a couple on Moesha, but when she went to the Parkers, she never mentioned him, and it was like he never existed.

I always felt that her and the professor was mad weird 😂. She stalked, harassed and even lied about having his baby to marry him. Lmao she was wild. 😂😂😂 VERONICA WAS THAT ONE!
I noticed that a trend in 1990s and 2000s shows was that it was considered funny when women and girls stalked and harassed the guys, like their actions weren't to be taken as seriously as a man's. I never found it funny even when I watched them in cartoons as a child. Watching it in the Parkers when I was in high school really annoyed me, especially since Nikki was supposed to be the voice of reason towards others. It made her look like a delusional hypocrite when she would give so much helpful, real world advice from time to time then chase after a man who wanted nothing to do with her and ruin his relationships.

I could have seen myself being a longtime friend of *Yvette Wilson* (Andell) if I knew her. Even though she was famous she had this real and authentic aura about her. You know, an actress that acted in Hollywood but wasn't Hollywood or of Hollywood. I miss her acting so much. May she rest in heaven.
I never thought of the characters as not “sophisticated “. They reflected real life. That’s sad that the cast compared her Countess body to the whites girl, Countess body was perfectly fine!!
Damn, when I was in my teens and early 20s back in the late 1990s and early 2000s, *Rodney Jerkins* seemed to be everywhere on the music production tip. He was a MF beast in the 1990s and 2000s. Didn't know that he produced the theme song for The Parkers. My cousin used to work with Jerkins back in the 2000s as both of them are in the music business.
I disagree. She was actually the star of the show. Without Countess this show goes nowhere. You could take any other character out of the show but without her it would not have been a success.
You should do what happened to Christina Milian, she's gorgeous, & talented wrote some massive hits had all the makings to be a Main pop girl but she just didn't really get there, Surprisingly nearly all her songs all went top10 in the UK (think she has 7-8 top10s here) her singles were all 🔥 but she kinda just vanished! She should've stayed with Kenny for a while and then actually married Johnny. Smh
Exactly how did Hakeem treat her??? He didnt want her and would run away but he never direspected her the way the Professor was with Nikki..When Kim made the cheerleading squad in season 1 moesha got mad at her and Hakeem took up for Kim,by season 3 Hakeem became flirty with Kim..2nd half of season 2 she was no longer chasing Hakeem and got with Michael
Um. What happened to Black sitcoms. Compare 1990-2000 to now. 😐
I loved how funny they were but the storylines could have been deeper
I could have seen myself being a longtime friend of *Yvette Wilson* (Andell) if I knew her. Even though she was famous she had this real and authentic aura about her. You know, an actress that acted in Hollywood but wasn't Hollywood or of Hollywood. I miss her acting so much. May she rest in heaven.
I never thought of the characters as not “sophisticated “. They reflected real life.
That’s sad that the cast compared her Countess body to the whites girl, Countess body was perfectly fine!!
Can you do one for the Game as well as the spin off game as well
Damn, when I was in my teens and early 20s back in the late 1990s and early 2000s, *Rodney Jerkins* seemed to be everywhere on the music production tip. He was a MF beast in the 1990s and 2000s. Didn't know that he produced the theme song for The Parkers. My cousin used to work with Jerkins back in the 2000s as both of them are in the music business.
Hit the like button if you never watched For Your Love.
Let alone heard of it
I haven't either. That was during my teenage years and don't remember even a promo.
@@cadillacdeville5828 facts. I don't remember no promo
Countess Vaughn wasn’t even big though 🙄
Exactly, imo she had a banging body
Countess was totally overshadowed by Monique. I wondered about that. Countess was adorable.
I disagree. She was actually the star of the show. Without Countess this show goes nowhere. You could take any other character out of the show but without her it would not have been a success.
Loved the show so much talented
I loved this show nd was
Proud too see these two bbws get there shine!
i love me some "Parkers"
to this day❤
I'm about tew watch now till i fall asleep 🍧
R.i.p Tew Aunt Dell🙏🏽🥀
Jenna was on the 90’s show 'BLOSSOM’ not ‘FAMILY MAYTERS'
She didn’t say Jenna was on Family Matters. She said Cherie Johnson, who interviewed Countess, was on Family Matters.
Ran into Stevie a few years ago at the mall she lives in Nashville she had her daughters so I didn’t go and speak but I recognized her for sure!!
They still play there episodes on a channel called Dabl and every single day currently.
I watched the whole series of The Parkers back in February 2022. I think once was enough for me
*Thats Crazy Because I Absolutely Remember Tellin Myself, “Stevie THICK AF 🤯😮💨”*
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Kim wasn't even fat that's the messed up part🤦
I loved the Parkers definitely one of my favorites
Can you pls do Half & Half
You should do what happened to Christina Milian, she's gorgeous, & talented wrote some massive hits had all the makings to be a Main pop girl but she just didn't really get there, Surprisingly nearly all her songs all went top10 in the UK (think she has 7-8 top10s here) her singles were all 🔥 but she kinda just vanished! Love to see ya take a deep dive into what happened with her career! ❤
You going to need a legal pad for that
never seen one episode just here for the Tea :P
It's a good show... ❤
This was my show growing up Nikki always has a crush on Stanley lol
